Hey. Any word yet on Zino 2 ship date? Mine hasnt shipped out yet, that’s why I ask. Also, when are extra batteries for it going to be available for sale? I would figure that they would want to have them in the pre-sale, that way they could drum up quick sales with extra batteries.

    • @QCGUY
      @QCGUY  4 года назад +2

The Badboy Live New ship date is next week but please be patient because it is Hubsan delaying it. This is still a app testing delay according to them.
Batteries and few other accessories will be around the same time they say.

@@mgflyer8066 I think I preordered mine around the same day. I originally had a pro ordered and saw that this was coming out as soon as it was, so I decided to just preorder the 2, as I wasn't going to pass up the 4K / 60 and HDR, plus the extended distance and longer battery life. Especially at the price. Because the pro was nearly as much. I'm glad I looked into it before I got the pro. Though it would be nice if we had a more concrete ETA. I'm really not in any hurry, though I would love to be flying it now.
Like I said before here, I wish to God they would put up the batteries for sale separately so I could order a couple of them to ship and arrive with the Drone.

I have not purchased a Zino pro as yet..But since wanting to be prepared, I purchased the B6 V2 AC DC batt charger.
Since I am still using several lipo 1S (one cell) batteries 3.7 volts some 2800 mAh and some 1800 mAh all have 2C written on them. The manual with the box is way too hard to read...so I went to web site and printed out the large PDF and put it in a 3 ring binder... I even used the USB port and installed the Windows version of the charge program on my computer. The unit comes with the banana plugs...and one adapter that has a single jst connector that will charge the 1 cell lipo 3.7 v batteries...
Up to now, I have had to use the USB plug in charger wires that come with the 3.7 volt batteries, to use on the toy drones.
I hate to admit that at 81 and having been an Advanced Ham operator...been working with medical electronics all my life... the new B6 V2 charger is very frustrating and the manual is not much better than explaining how to program a rubics cube. So, would appreciate a few more videos.... How to totally reset your charger to get rid of memories you might have put in when testing and learning.
Then for some of us ...produce a video on how to SAFELY charge a 1S one cell battery LIPO and what safe settings should be used.... 1A chg or 2 A charge? how do we know what is safe? It took me a half day of frustration to finally get the Lipo charge system 3.7 volts to agree to charge 1S instead of 2S finally it just showed up.. Then, I cannot find a way to set the battery to charge at the max of 1800 mAh then change over and know that the next battery will charge at 2800 mAh.
The computer app through Windows did seem simpler...but it still is not convincing all the settings are in safe mode.
Perhaps on one of the new videos you can take a 1S and and a common Zino pro batt and another of different count cells and make a how to set up and save a program for each..
Well....luckily...so far....I have succeeded in getting one of the one cell batt to charge..with out blowing up... but looking at the figures...I am still un easy. And thanks for all the other videos you do... they are great help in getting started in this hobby.

    Hi Chris
Thanks for all your Zeno vids, they're super helpful to get a deeper insight into what's going on "under the hood".
I've been flying my Zeno (version 1) occasionally for over two years now and since the "battery error" message started popping up lately I decided to purchase an IMAX B6 v2 charger to see if it can resolve this issue.
I have to state at this point that I've never done any updates to the existing firmware, following the code "if it works, don't touch it" simply because the quad was behaving like a well-trained nun.
However, I can't seem to be able to get rid of the battery-related messages and strange percentage readings within the app.
I just recently updated the app to version 2.0 but it doesn't seem to make any difference (except for occasional cut out in the video stream).
Now, the two original batteries I received with the kit show really good values when connected to the IMAX charger. The voltage variation across all three cells stays within 0.01 - 0.02 volts. However the "battery error" pops up after every take of now.
Could you perhaps suggest something else I can try?
My second question is related to the IMAX charger.
When I set it to STORAGE mode, it targets the voltage to 3.92v per cell. I remember reading in the comments here that the ideal storage voltage would be something like 3.7 - 3.8v.
Should I do this manually via the "discharge" mod?
    BTW
has anybody noticed that the Attitude indicator within the app has reversed roll/bank axis?
    Thanks again
    Jay

I don’t use storage on the imax. I deplete them in the drone and have always just made sure they are somewhere between 25 and 75 percent. It’s always been fine that way and I have some pretty old batteries still kicking.
Your problem sounds like the connectors on the quad that make contact with the battery may be wearing down and causing drop readings which also has caused problems with people having total power loss while in flight. You know the end result of that I’m sure.
I trust the readings of that charger and as long as it remains pretty close if checking throughout the charging process I would look at the power connector board.
Better know how to solder because it’s 16 wires. I have replaced a good many of these for people in your situation.

The A3 battery has fuse resistors in the BM circuits, so the cell I.R. values are not correctly displayed, and you should ignore their absolute values. You might still be able to pick up a trend over time if you see them changing. If you open the pack, you can get to the balance connector and hook that up directly to the charger for a better I.R. measurement.

First off, I want to thank you for this video for helping me get back to flying my Zino Pro. I ruined 4 good batteries by fully charging them with the charger that came with the pro and then sitting them on the shelf for months. So I got an Imax charger and the special wire for charging the pro batteries AND a new battery.
Using your video, I was able to charge the new battery and check it. I was one of those folks whose Pro took off and then fell out of the sky....only 6 ft, so it passed that drop test.
NOWWWWWWWWWWW my question is: I don't fly my Zino every day....I may not fly it for weeks. I hear, if I am to not fly for a while I should discharge the battery to a specific level and it will be OK to leave it for a while. Howz about if I only flew once every two weeks? You see what I am getting at.
Again, thanks for getting me off the ground again. I love the Imax B6 Thanks to those who commented too. If it is OK, I would like to thank Captain Drone for leading me in your direction. ChiefVic Cedar Creek Texas

But when I try to charge my zino battery's they will charge up to bout 75% and then I get a battery disconnected warning. I can unplug and re-plug all the wires but the charger will not charge any further. It just gives me the disconnected warning. Any Idea what is wrong? I was balance charging at 1.1. I noticed your charging at 3. Only thing I have been able to do with the charger is put the battery's in storage. I have a charger like the one you use here but it is a different brand. It is a LiHV charger. I also have a bigger Hitec charger but I haven't tried them on that one yet. I was hoping the smaller charger would work so I can bring it with me on motorcycle rides. I wish I’d had started watching your videos from the get go. I recently experienced a catastrophic battery failure 30 seconds into flight. Unfortunately I was using Hubsan’s battery charger so who knows what damage that charger did. I was draining the batteries down before storing but didn’t invest in a better charger/balancer. Since the drone will not even power up now, I’m faced with unknown damage (other than one motor that is visually physically damaged) to the insides of the drone after its 75 meter free fall. I’ve checked into sending it back to Hubsan because I’ve had it for 10 months and it has a one year warranty. But I don’t have much confidence in sending the drone to China and ever getting it back. What is your charge to inspect/troubleshoot the damage? I’d love to get this thing repaired even if I end up getting a better drone to replace it. It really produced excellent video footage for the price.

Got some great advice from you a bit back, and have now got this charger, manufactured the cable and are up an running, so thanks a bundle!! :-)
However, looking at this video again, I see you using the LiHV instead of the LiPo setting, and from what I got this is due to the batteries being "high voltage"... so is this HV on all Zino batteries, or should I be loking for some type of marking indicating HV?
(Mine only say "LiPo" in the "upper corner"...)
Thanks again for helping us newbies out! :-)
    Regards, Jon, Norway

Hi Chris, this really seems to be a great charger indeed.! May I ask you if you know of course, the original Zino Pro package is coming with the thinner battery charging cable currently from Hubsan? Or this was only the case with the original Zino S and the new Zino Pro is coming with a thicker cable ? Otherwise, where should I find the thicker charging cable to buy from?

    • @QCGUY

Vassilis Chatzimanolis The thicker cable came when the pro did but new zino stock will have this as well.

    Hi Chris,
I'm using this charger for a few months now and I like it very much. I am really amazed however about the the large discrepancy between the percentages shown by the app (I flew my Zino to a 12% battery level yesterday). After I connected it to the charger to put it in storage mode it showed me like 55-60% instead of the 12% as shown while flying. I can understand a difference of like 10/15%, but a 40-50% difference is a lot in my opinion!

No, Hubsan keeps playing with the battery meter and parameters in the firmware where they should just stop and give up because they are screwing it up. If you have multiple batteries doing this chalk it up to their brilliant engineers but if it is just one battery it can be a few things like the battery itself or poor soldering inside creating a dead short which I have found on a few occasions.
