Thanks for sharing the info on fixing the USB Disconnects. Oddly for me, it only happened on iPhone. Android has been fine. I cut the tabs off. Looking forward to trying it out and seeing if that cures it. Thanks again.

It's new stock so I imagine all new stock will have it but it's purpose with the zino is a mystery. There is nothing to identify other than looking inside but if this is indeed new it will be on all new models.
Honestly your tin-foil trick works a treat. Never had an issue with updates using the tin-foil (mine didn't come with a jumper)
Yes...It works great and even given a jumper I will continue to use foil.
Hi Chris, I see the UK Hubsan site is now advertising a Zino Pro. Looks much the same apart from the black colour, but claimed 4km FPV, detachable ND filter and the targeted landing is no longer described as beta, at a price of £399. Still no optical flow or collision avoidance, though.
I don't see where this model design will ever have those things. We have this battery in the way so unless they come out with a new design this is it I think. I do think they did something to the precise landing but we will have to see on that one. A hundred dollars more now but that will go down. This is where the first zino started basically and look where it's priced now. The price and not much change will keep sales down so they will drop it. Oh, A little more battery would have helped for the 4km as well.
U said you worked for Hubsan That seems like a perfect job, but I know some things a not as great as one would imagine! Do you charge hourly wages or set amount +parts I'm so interested simply because I have needed so many and mean many fixes or should I say fixer. Be nice to have your info on the old rolodex, because they make I Brake them Simple put! Really happy to have come across this channel I AM A Subscriber I just have to be/Foolish not to be 🤯

Charles Wall I worked with them as a firmware and new model tester for a few years. Not like today when everyone and anyone can be a tester.
It was me and my own testers and no confusion like today which just delays progress.
I don’t charge people for repairs. I charge for parts and just request a donation of what ever they are comfortable giving.

@@QCGUY had a faulty balance connector when it arrived. Ditched the stock charger and invested in a lipo. The weather has been garbage for a week. I'm hoping to fly my bird on Monday. I've been unfolding it and carrying it around my apartment making brushless motor mouth noises. My son thinks I'm crazy. 😂

CVBS is “composite video base band signal.” For the security camera market world, this is what is considered original analog standard definition video cameras. These analog security cameras are not high definition and are capped off at 960h, 700 analog TV lines resolution. SDI stands for “serial digital interface."

I did now put the cover from my Zino pro and it has that connector too but connected to a cable.
What does the connector lead to?
I have this board too. Bought my zino in April this year. Next thing is i have only in one foot a antenna. Can i install a second one like the first version of the zino?
You have one Antenna but 2 plug in outlets on the wifi module? If so you can but I didn't know they made that change. Mistake maybe?

Don't know of any guys flying their RC planes without a dedicated high powered transmitter i.e. Spektrum etc. The cheap transmitter that comes with the Zino is just a toy, lets face it. I don't like hooking up my smartphone to a quad..just too cheapo if you ask me .I think the 501 with the fpv1 is by far the best going..my 2 bits
Yeah I like the 501. But when I need a gimbaled camera, zino is the cheapest (that works well) you can get.... plus 4k
Awesome job....my only hope is that you become and expert working on the Anafi as well. No problems with mine to date (knock on wood) but it would be nice to have someone to consult with if I should have a problem down the road.

Jet Martin That’s a easy one to work on but almost everything has to come apart to get to a simple fix. I won’t be digging into mine unless I have to. I need a sacrificial lamb to do repair videos on it.

@@QCGUY Understand....I'm assuming that you've seen the RUclips video that shows someone completely disassembling the Anafi. It seems that Parrot has designed the Anafi to be modular and easy to disassemble. The challenge will be the diagnosis and isolation of any faults and possibly getting parts for repair should I ever need it. Typically what I've seen from people who have reported problems is that they contact Parrot and ultimately return the product under warranty and Parrot sends them a brand new drone. I have seen people who have crashed it and broken arms, etc. and done repairs. The most challenging part is the camera/gimbal...from what I've seen you can't just replace part of the camera/gimbal assembly because all of the gimbals parts seem to be electronically "linked" together so you kind of have to replace the entire gimbal/camera assembly as one unit.

@@jetmartin9501 Yes I have seen the video. Those are videos that grab my attention the most. I had a concern with mine where the foot separated a little which I fixed and the still replaced it with a new one. In that case I was fine with it because I swapped a refurb for new.
@@QCGUY FYI...Did you see that Parrot released the Anafi FPV drone. For the most part it looks like the Anafi with thicker front legs, that comes with Goggles and a backpack. It also notes a flight time of 26 vs 25mins for the Anafi v1.

Aren't these harder to crash than the quads you built? The one i built has no gps and i have to keep adj the sticks to keep it in position.

Hi. The camera from my Zino keeps on moving from left to right quickly. I tried taking the "I plate" off the back of the camera and pushing on the metal plate like you did in your video, but no luck.
I also tried calibrating the gimbal, but nothing. The camera is also shaky and wobbly in flight.
Could it be that I need to replace the ribbon cable on the camera?

@@bpxnowyouknow Sometimes this turns out to be a motor issue or motor board issue. Not so often does the cable fix this or software. Sorry.
Composite Video Blanking and Sync, It is a conventional analogue signal, luminance,colour and sync combined ( audio separate) .
Interesting, have they altered the video output?
richard halliday Ahh! I knew I had smart people watching. I’m too stupid to figure that out without looking it up.
Nothing is attached to it but it did have a snap protector cover on it.
It’s not my quad so I didn’t dig past the heat sinks or into the wifi module to check if anything else had changed.
We always called it "Composite Video Baseband Signal".. Not sure why that would be there.. Composite video is only good for up to 480I resolution (NTSC).

I'm going to say no just based on not really seeing anyone have a problem with them unless the camera takes a hit in a crash. The fimi is pretty well built for sure!
I need some help please. Why are my motors switch off during the flight causing me to crash my Zino ?
Most likely a bad cell within the battery. This is becoming more and more popular unfortunately.

I have exactly the same problem. Not big crash. It felt upside down and I now cannot connect the zino to the controller. Neither I can’t see the zino wifi on my cell phone.
I have follow you’re your video and check my zino. It seems that zino has improved the connector issue. I have checked the camera connector and it looks quite well. Nice and well tied….
But I still have no connection at all.
What should I checked now? I am quite lost diagnosing what the problem is…..
I would appreciate any suggestion…..
irrintziii There has been no change or improvements in the connector issue. You have 6 connections between camera and gimbal and most are on the camera and gimbal. There are two on the gimbal that could come detached and two in the quad. If I had it in front of me powered on I could tell you which ones it’s not and which ones to check. You might think it’s all good but there’s a connection not made in there. Happy hunting 👍

I have already disassembly the whole gimbals from the drone and so the 2 connectors on the main board. The 2 look ok I can clearly hear the “click” when assembly them back to the main board.
At the gimbal, the same thing for the “top” and “behind de cover” connectors look ok and I can also hear the “click” when assembly them back.
The servo connector at the gimbal side is ok because when I power the zino up, I can see how it moves to the center position.
I haven´t checked though the 2 connectors covered up and located at the gimbal sides. According to your experience, could it be one of these 2?
I imagine I should check them and if they look ok, purchase anyway a cable an exchange it…… It will take 3 or 4 weeks (It is the time it usually take to get something from China to here (Spain).
By the way, my zino has also the CVBS connector….

You covered everything well and so far out of all the ones I have worked on, none have had a damaged side gimbal or camera side connection.
Are you getting a red flashing light on the side or solid?

It’s not as simple as that. I can’t just tell you on some of these codes but most are a result of a bad cable, cable connection or calibration.

Daniel Marques Do you get a wifi signal from the quad? If not then you broke or popped a cable loose most likely. You crashed it so now you need to explore it and find the problem. Carefully 😐

@@QCGUY pardon ... Daniel Marques One question, can you tell me if the signal between the zino and the control / cell is made by Gimbal? As "disconnected aircraft" appears and the Gimbal has broken cables, I think that may be why it is not connected. Can you tell me?
Just watched this video, and the 501S board had a Composite Video Blanking Sync (CVBS) pin coloured red on the ribbon cable from camera board to FC.
Yes it did....I think this added to the zino board was a test developing to the zino 2 personally.
@@QCGUY What is CVBS and HD-TVI? (CVBS) or Composite Video Blanking and Sync is the conventional analog signal delivered through an analog BNC connector. In English, that basically means a pair of wires can transmit video and power from the camera to the recorder producing video surveillance.

Whenever it arrives. I have to wait in line like everyone else now that I'm not connected or associated with Hubsan anymore which turns out was the best decision I made. They are doing really bad at customer support among other things which I don't want to be associated with.
