If you got you new zino with the firmware mentioned do not got and upgrade firmware from their website. That is a downgrade and drown grading the firmware on the zino will cause you problems. It's not that simple and it won't work!
Glad I saw this vid, just received a replacement Zino and it's the Zino Y. Flies ok actually with V1.2.04 firmware although Iv'e not tried all the functions out fully. Did consider upgrading the firmware to see if there were any improvements. Think I may leave well alone.
Thanks for your continues updates on the Zino, I got my few weeks ago and absolutely love it, no issues at all, I'm just about to go out and fly it. I find your channel really useful. Thanks!
I subscribed to your channel due to finally getting my Zino. Much information here for me to learn from. I do wish your videos were categorized in play list to make it easier to find the proper content easier. Thanks for all your work.
Well done, Chris! ☺ Always good to know the difference when it comes to having to possibly repair our Zinos. That lense on my black Zino y is recessed a lot more than my white non zino y. But that's just mine. Sounds like everyone's can be different now, haha 😂🤣 Thanks again for all you do for the community!
Dear sir, your videos are really great! I also have a Zino-Y, but i make the mistake of getting upgraded!! as a result can't fly anymore, because it can't detect satellites... i tried to find a solution with Hubsan-service, but nothing.... so i would like your help. I want you to tell me the original version from ZINO-Y of the FC, of the GIMBAL, of the FPV. Thank you.
So glad I did not buy a ZINO it seems like there are many problems with this drone. If you love it GREAT-I just didn't want to take this chance. I bought a Fimi X8 instead !
Thanks Chris ! what must I do now? I received my second Zino (1.1.52) with a square camera lens, I had a fly away, the third Zino is a "Y", received with the 1.1.52; they had a lot of disconnections with this firmware (Bighenet) he advise to downgrade to 1.1.51; I did it and my Zino flies like a charm: is it good, or is there an other solution?
Chris ... our club has a number of “older” Zinos. What firmware versions would you recommend? Pasquale listed the versions for the Y ... could we use those? Thanks.
Chris, do you recommend downgrading my camera firmware from 0.3.8 to 0.3.6? The 0.3.8 was preinstalled when I received my new zino-y approximately two months ago. I have been disappointed about the video quality, but after making some adjustments on the camera lens (dismantling of camera board needed) the video got sharper. But still my videos does not feel like 4k videos. So maybe downgrading could be the solution?
saw this video to late :-( recently updated my firmware, and noticed that I had the newer 3.0.2.3 gimbal firmware, I wanted to keep, but on the website/manual of Hubsan they advice you to update all the firmware together, and not just parts... wish I knew this 2 day's ago... didn't notice any problems yet, but it seems there's no way to revert back to the 3.0.2.3 firmware...
I have friends with Zino and they like it and i have now purchased the zino too.I know from them that Hubsan has 3 different Zino with 3 different boards and 2 different Cameras. And only 1 version can use the Firmware from the website. But how i know that i can use the Firmware from the Website ?
@@TKommandant Sometimes it just stays bricked but some firmware can simply be upgraded/down graded and fix it. There is no unbricking tool though. Just a hammer!
Is there any way to check whether I have Zino or Zino-Y when my QR code is demaged (vanished out). Unfortunately the code on the box is badly printed from the beginig (part is blur) so also it did not help.
Hi@@QCGUY it was presale directly from Hubsan (but with square camera). As I remeber I received it in November last year. Sticker is still there just part of it is gone (ink vanished).
Hello Marcin, the QR code is the same at the BOX, at the CONTROLLER and at the AIRCRAFT, scan it with your cellphone to see the serial number... ( my zino is the: ZINO-Y SN:BAH070E2310....)
Waleed Muniri The Y is a camera change. The gimbal plug is slightly different and its said that the camera lens is a little more recessed. Nothing different that is noticed in video though.
My Hubsan Zino, arrived three days ago, is all black and the qr-code is: "ZINO-Y SN: AAH070E02090099". The pre-installed firmware is as follows: - ZINO_FC_V1.2.02 (flight control board); - ZINO_G_V3.0.2.4 (gimbal); - ZINO_IT_V0.3.6 (camera board); - HT016B_RP_V0.1.6 (trasmitter). From a summary examination I see no difference on the quadrocopter, instead the transmitter has the pins to be jumpered for updates moved to the right by 5 centimeters instead of being in the center. I haven't done any flight tests yet and I don't know how to behave. In your opinion, could I have problems with this specimen out of the standard?
So far there is no complaints with this new firmware they are sending installed on these but you are in a minority so it's hard to say what has been updated in these two new firmware's. I would treat it like a test and keep it close at first. Learn it's behavior and all it's little quirks first.

which app or current firmware is suitable for the ZINO-Y?

Mark Zebrowski Y or not they use the same firmware. I recommend what is current on Hubsan’s website except use 0.3.6 camera firmware. 👍

PerratheSwede Sure....if you aren’t happy with the quality it won’t hurt. It’s a upgrade going from 38 to 36

It's a scary thing being a test subject for Hubsan. It will be interesting to see if this is indeed a test and they officially release something else.

At this point it may be best for you to share your serial number with them and double check. I hate to tell anyone it is ok and then you have a brick.
@@QCGUY can you Unbrick it with a tool ?
