BTW, reactance and definition should be set straight up (5) for neutral setting. Turn to the left for subtraction and to the right to add. Ive had this unit for about 6 years. Does a great job with both the helix and kemper going through guitar cabs.
I’ve had this unit for years it’s been solid..if anybody had overheating problems then you had the vent blocked.

Nice and simple. Like it. I just started venturing into rack mounted amplifiers recently. Im using a Mesa Boogie Studio preamp and currently an old ADA power amp and it seems to work but doesn't seem as warm as I would like. I just scored one of these Rocktron power amps for cheaps at a local store as a potential replacement, if for nothing else other than making the rig smaller. Would you be able to offer any tips or tricks as far as squeezing the best possible tone out my setup? My current cabinet is a Marshall 1936 2x12. I'll probably end up bouncing back and forth between using the onboard preamp exclusively for my sound or a pedal board, which is currently set up with a Catalinbread RAH, an M/I Audio Crunch Box, Boss DS1, EH Metal Muff, an EH Small Stone and a Crybaby 535.
Sorry for the hyper detail but your setup is pro so I figured that full disclosure would be helpful, lol. Thanks!
GirlsGamesGunsGuitar For the best possible tone, I would recommend removing any cheap 1/4" guitar cables from the rig and replace them with quality ones that are custom lengths. Extra length of cable is further for the signal to travel which reduces the signal flow and the quality of that signal. Try the Planet Waves solderless custom cable kits. That cable and those connectors rock! #planetwaves #guitarcables
I'm curious about the reactance and definition controls: can you basically "equalize" it to sounds like an either 6L6 or EL34 sound ??
That is definitely one way to look at it.
Does it come with power supply?

I returned mine to the department store. I was not satisfied with sound, it has heating problems and because of that it turns off after 15 min of rehearsal. I play death metal thru ADA MP-2 and Randall 4x12 speaker but as i said, after a shortwhile it begins to turns off due to i overheating.
Tehnically very bad soluted and compound piece of garbage. Its suitable only for playing at home with everyone but not with the insane drummer, youll have to turn it well close to the 70% of its "horsepower" and there it starts to distorts. Its better way to buy 100 W tube head no matter of maker.
Thanks for the heads up. I'm concerned about the headroom.
I think i will go with mesa 50/50, my friend use it at the gig, volume half way up is sufficient with plenty of headroom left.
