So excited...... RebsFabStash sent my fabric kit and it came today! I can't wait to get started. I know I can't wait til you start the Sew along, so tomorrow you will find me in my sewing room!
Did Kimberbell release quilting patterns for this quilt? We would quilt the fabric before embroidering. Then sew the blocks together. Very cool process
Hi Becky, I must tell you what a fabulous teacher you are. I know you’ve heard this before.. I cannot help myself from telling you how much I have learned from you and I greatly appreciate you sharing your knowledge of sewing. Thank you very much. I wish you much success 🥰👏🥰 Chris-Raleigh NC
Great informative video, I love the fact that you show all the mistakes, like not threading the needle and such. It helps people realize that it happens no matter who you are. I need to get he mister bottle, looks much better than the bottle that the Mary Ellens Best Press comes in.
Those mister bottles really do a great job. Because of their internal design, they don't hold as much as you'd think (there's a bag inside), but the fine mist is just so nice for pressing.
Coowee Becky, You already twisted my arm to buy the mat. All your video's have great finds on them. Love my mat too. Thanks. Just about to start my quilt of valour for my Vietnam Vet neighbour, for Anzac day April 26th for Australia. Can't wait to quilt the top, Designs by Juju had a edge to edge design made for me of poppies just for this quilt. Once again all due to you. Thanks again. God bless you and Keith. xxx Hooroo Alda West Auzzie.
Becky, you are such a wonderful instructor! Thank you! I just ordered all my supplies for Kimberbell's Red, White and Blue. I have a Brother Dream Machine. Love machine embroidery quilts. Looking forward to the embroidery along.
Well, I'm seriously considering doing this project. I've had my embroidery machine for several years, and have used it very little. So I'm very new to this. I think I'm going to order this kit, and see what I can learn. Your tutorial was very clear, and I'm going to give this one a try. I have my name in at a couple of different places to be notified when everything comes in. So hopefully, I will have everything when your embroider along begins in April. Thanks for the great demo. Diane
That's great! The nice thing about Kimberbell projects is that they are perfect for beginners and expose you to many different aspects of the design process in just a couple of blocks. This one will be very fun to play with for sure.
I use Terial magic on my fabric to cut with my scan and cut, I spray pretty heavy , no need for sf 101 if using the Terial. For embroidery I use sf 101 on the back of my fabric and I also starch or Best Press, if you spray heavy it will starch the fabric pretty well. Just thought I’d share that! Thank you so much for your videos, I’ve learned from you, and look forward to them. Congratulations on your new room, love it 😍
Becky you have the Brother 1034D serger, what size needles or kind do you use for it. Thank you So they are not a special need for them just regular needles. I always use Schmet needles. Thanks Becky
I am doing the Red white and Bloom Embroidery Quilt and I'm watching your tutorial on the lemonade block. What was the name of the water soluable stabilizer????
Usually a machine dealer can order them. I got mine in Houston at the show several years ago. I web searched "36 x 60 self-healing cutting mat" and several vendors came up.
Hi Becky, it is so nice to see you in your new sewing space, I just wanted to mention that the screen of your machine is very distracting since it is liked a TV and I keep looking at that instead of you, hope this help 😊
I assume you’re referring to the quilting designs that Kimberbell has started to offer for the quilts and bench pillows? These designs are quilted on the blocks first before any appliqué is done. You would purchase these designs from MyKimberbell.com and download them. Detailed directions on how to quilts the various size blocks are included. Of course, the other option is to quilt after all the appliqué and embroidery work is complete and the front is assembled as you would a traditional quilt. I assume Becky’s tutorials will just include the appliqué and embroidery work with suggestions on how to quilt the final piece. Hope this helps!
hi Becky, im new to embroidery and im having a hard time how to download patterns and unzipping and transferring to a USB card. will be able to assist me.
The Mylar comes with the kit, but you can purchase the two sets of Kimberbell Mylar -one is neutral (black, gold, clear, silver) and the other is jewel tones-from your local quilt shop or even on Amazon if your local shop doesn’t carry them :)
Thank. You I could not have done this without your video.

There are not allover quilting patterns on this CD. I will be making all my blocks without doing the allover quilting.

It helps to bring the bobbin thread to the top with each colour change. Stops thread nesting!

I’m not even making this kit but I really enjoy all the information you give for embroidery. You are such a natural and I love your sense of humor!
Just amazing to me. Thanks!

Thanks for sharing that about Terial Magic. It's always great to have first hand knowledge. I will have to get some. :)
Looks like fun . Thank you.
My LQS said release for this quilt is June! Edit to say LQS called and I should have the kit by end of week! Yay!
I saw your comment earlier and almost replied, but I'm glad I waited. Kimberbell released the quilt this week. :)
I can't wait to do this. My order will arrive on Saturday. 😃 I didn't get the kit I only got the book and CD.
It will be just as pretty with your own fabrics. :)

I use Organ 80/12 needles in the serger.

You can use any WSS. I used Pellon's 541 Wash n Gone for this block and I got it at WalMart.
Aloha Becky, I just wanted to know how I can get that huge cutting mat that you have on your table while doing your blogs?
Usually a machine dealer can order them. I got mine in Houston at the show several years ago. I web searched "36 x 60 self-healing cutting mat" and several vendors came up.
For the bobbin can I use 40 Wt same as top for this? I have a babylock..Thank you for this video
Sure! You can always use the same thread in the bobbin. That's how Free Standing Lace is made. :)
Love all your T-shirts where do you get them?
Hi Becky, it is so nice to see you in your new sewing space, I just wanted to mention that the screen of your machine is very distracting since it is liked a TV and I keep looking at that instead of you, hope this help 😊
I'll turn it off for future videos. Thanks!
Will the sew a long include the the background quilting for each block and do we need to sign up or just watch video
I'll be putting the rows together on the last day of the sew along. You can watch at your own pace. No stress! :)
