    Thanks for all the info. I too set up my file for my designs, but I set mine up for each designer, then their designs. But the bad this about that is I have been embroidering since latter 90's so needless to say there is a lot in those files and they're either outdated, duplicated, or I have no idea what they are...Part of my charm I guess...Since I have really gotten addicted to the ITH designs, I really need to set them apart. Also thanks for the info about Embrillance, I'll even let them know that you recommended them to me...God Bless and to steal your line, "Go Sew Something" I'm at my machine right now...

    Beckie I made the one I bought down to a 6x10 inch potholders but they were too small so I used the idea from Juju and made my own design for an 8x8 inch potholder. I used the different stitch designs off my sewing machine instead of the red work and made some nice pot holder sets for my family for Christmas. I had not made these for many a year. I try to watch as many of your videos as I can being stuck here at hoe --- I never go out much lately as I prefer my own environment to other places.

Please keep up the videos, they are fantastic, yes you are a wonderful teacher !!!!! Now all I have to figure out is HOW to get this silly disc of Thumbnailer to work on my machine, tried and have not worked, so will try again. Please feel free to redo your advice on that :)

    • @PowerToolsWithThread
      @PowerToolsWithThread  4 года назад

      You have a disc vs. just a download? Either way, once you have it installed. Do this...
      1. Restart your computer.
      2. Open the Thumbnailer icon on your desktop and make sure all the formats you want are checked.
      3. Click the "Check for Updates" button.
      4. Close Thumbnailer.
      5. Restart your computer again.
      6. Now check to see if it has been applied.
      If you're still having problems, recommend using the Support email function at Embrilliance. They are really good.

      I've never used the Bernina software but I have a friend who has and she buys all the upgrades as they come out. Embrilliance doesn't charge for upgrades and they do them frequently to keep up with technology - like being able to send designs wirelessly to new machines. It's on sale through 12/13/20 for $139. You really can't go wrong and it's so incredibly easy to use. I have a video explaining it with links to the basic modules everyone uses here: powertoolswiththread.com/embrilliance

    You are awesome, you know everything! Can you please tell me how to adjust my tension on my Husq Viking Designer 1? I have changed my thread 18 times minimum for this Cactus Punch Design. I can't imagine how many while trying to adjust my tension...@least double regular changes! I have changed needles, & thread.
    On the software you are discussing above, so it will let me save it on my floppy 3 1/2 drive?

    • @PowerToolsWithThread
      @PowerToolsWithThread  4 года назад +1

      Well, I wish I could help on your tension issues but I'm not a Huskv girl - totally unfamiliar with those machines and I recommend you find a tech who can come into your home and fix the machine while he sees what you're working on. I've found that to be the best way. Look around in your area for in-home sewing machine repair. For Embrilliance, anywhere you want to save a file for your machine - even your 3.5" floppy, you can save. You might have to save it to your computer first and then transfer the file to the floppy, but it should work one way or the other. Good luck!

    Don't you just love watching embroidery machines stitch? Or is it just me. I have a little brother sewing and embroidery machine combo. 4x4 hoop. • @PowerToolsWithThread
      @PowerToolsWithThread  4 года назад +1

      I'd absolutely recommend this machine. The technology in it is amazing. If Santa can't bring it, you might check out the Brother NQ1600 that goes up to a 6x10 hoop for starters and keep your other machine for sewing. I'd recommend at least a 5x7 hoop and make sure it takes a USB drive. You are going to expand your horizons like you wouldn't believe!

    • @PowerToolsWithThread
      @PowerToolsWithThread  3 года назад +1

      I think you can make these in an 8x8. Give it a try. If the design is too large for your hoop it won't stitch. If you're not sure, do a trace around the hoop to make sure it will all stitch and fit properly. But I think the directions say an 8x8 will work. Good luck!

    My largest hoop is 6x10. Will it work to reduce the size to fit using Embrilliance?

      Personally, I think you could successfully resize, but it is not recommended by DBJJ to do this and they don't provide any support for resized designs. But I like to live on the edge and I'd go for it. :) lol Use the "Fit to Hoop" button to give it a shot.

    WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN POTHOLDER SERIES 1 & 2?😊😊😊😊

  • @judycooley1566

    When you were doing these potholders, I noticed that your design files are categorized. Does that come with Embrillance software or did you set that up yourself. Years ago, and I mean many years ago, someone on yahoo set up a file folder with all of the designs separated into selected groups. Very similar to what yours looks like. I have a copy of that file system, but yours is much more in the hoop friendly. And lastly, you need to check Embroidery Weekly, they have a camper wallhanging that would go so well with your Lori Holt quilt. Finished it and really enjoyed doing it. You see I too am a fan of JuJu and Sweet Pea. They are so fun and easy to make and they always turn out fantastic. Anyway, thanks so much and I am so glad I found you on youtube. God Bless

      Hi Judith, I'm so glad you found me too! lol I set my file folder structure up like that myself. Inside of My Documents folder (which comes with Windows), I created a file for Embroidery, and then inside that, I created my own card catalog file structure (just like a library from when we were kids). That card catalog is sorted by Subject. Inside the folder for Holidays, you'll find sub folders for each of the holidays that I have designs for. Here's a video where I explain it all and how to do it. The steps have been updated by Microsoft just a bit, but the process is the same. ruclips.net/video/h__9mmkwGNs/видео.html

    Becky, i have a viking husqvarna, sewing/embroidery machine w/premier software. was wondering how compatible the software would be with scan and cut machine ?

    • @PowerToolsWithThread
      @PowerToolsWithThread  3 года назад

      It's not compatible at all unless it will save applique files to the .pes file format which is what the SNC will use to identify the tackdown (cutting) file. USB that file to the SNC and then save it again in the software to the .hus file format for use in your machine for applique. It will work then. Test first for sure. I wouldn't alter the image at all once it's in the SNC because the .hus stitch file won't know it changed. You'll have to make any and all changes to the file (resizing, mirroring, etc.) in the Premier software before you save it to .pes to USB to the SNC.

    Hello from southern Oklahoma. We are practically neighbors.
    I have pe design 10 software that i use with my 6 needle. I was wondering if the embrilliance does more than the brother pe design 10. If its something i need.
    Thank you for your videos. Enjoy them.

      I don't have PE Design so I can't speak to it. However, I know that the Embrilliance software suite will do everything that PE Design does depending on which modules you get (they build on each other). The reason I don't have PE Design is because I don't need most of what it does so I don't want to pay the price. I'm not a digitizer so my software needs are pretty much fulfilled by Embrilliance Essentials (on sale for $139 through 12/12/20) and Enthusiast (on sale for $179). I do have Embrilliance Stitch Artist 1, but I haven't used it because I really don't need it (it was on sale a couple of years ago and I bought it just in case... lol). Here's a video where I explain them with my links to buy if you're so inclined. powertoolswiththread.com/embrilliance
