I made my first towel topper today...love it! Instead of stitching the towel to the topper, I just looped the towel through, and the towel actually holds it in place on the oven door handle. Thank you!
Great idea. I was wondering how that topper would hold up with multiple washings. I would rather not have it attached. I was thinking of editing the design and making the bottom part(back piece) a little deeper. Would that make it more sturdy?
I was thinking the same thing, that way you can use the same topper with multiple towels. Alternatively, different toppers with the same towel. I wasn't sure if the opening was large enough. Thanks for posting!
That was delightful. You did a great job of demonstrating the attaching of the towel correctly and then, to get to see it wrapped through the oven handle was the frosting on the cake. 🎉
@@PowerToolsWithThread The cotton bud is a great tool, but I'd like to suggest trying it with a small paintbrush dipped in the water instead. It was a real game changer for me.
Thank you so much for your educational teaching. I have a Janome 15000 sewing machine & embrilliance also. With the Janome 15000 the arm is in the throat side so I need to put towel toward the outside. I love to do your video step by step by watching it on my iPhone while I’m doing it step by step with my computer & embrilliance as I go. I need to have this extra instruction as I do it. My friend & teacher who I met on line recommended embrilliance & has been teaching me from a very far distance. I definitely am a newbie & would have given up without her help. Thank-you for this! I appreciate that you show us how to avoid the pitfalls that might not be apparent when we look at a design! (I love being "an insider"!) Also, I think this pattern would be perfect for all those little tea towels that one gets for Christmas that aren't quite the right size and keep falling on the floor 😏 when placed back on the kitchen stove towel bar--this looks like an excellent solution!😎
Thanks for all your wonderful tips and tricks. I need to get back to doing embroidery on my Bernina. Now that I'm retired my goal is to improve and do more embroidery work.

Thank you "SEW" much, Becky!! You are the BEST step-by-step teacher ever! I love JuJu's designs and I love that the two of you have come together to give us "newbies" a wonderful tutorial. I absolutely love learning from you! Thank you and JuJu both!!

Hi Becky. I am just watching this tutorial from Australia. Just want to thank you for your great teaching style and for showing your mistakes. Helps people realise that embroidery is not just a ‘one and done’ project on many occasions. Embroiders often spend a lot of time trialling the design before they get a perfect result❤️
Becky you showed me ways of doing things in embrilliance that I was not aware of. I have been using this program for five years. I had to group something the other day and that was a learning experience also.
Thank you so much! I tried to use the directions on my own...not a good idea! Your video was awesome and very clear to watch. Now I want to go make more towels! I also LOVED your Embrillance portions of this video. I have all the modules from Embrillance, but your directions and video made it so much clearer to understand.

Thank you, Becky! I learned several things from you today, and always enjoy your well-thought-out tutorials. I've used Embrilliance for a few years. Did you know that there is another way to highlight the whole design with one click? Directly under the word "Objects" the first one of the little symbols, which is grayed out while you're working with the different elements, will do that for you if you click on it. I learned the other ways from you today, and it's always good to find alternatives. Now I have a question, what needle size do your recommend for sewing through all those layers? Also, I have made the mistake of steaming the stabilizer, and it only just now occurs to me to ask if it will possibly wash out and be fixed. And why not? I'm going to try this on some little scraps just to test it, maybe without sewing the layers at all so I can see what's going on in there.
I was listening to your tutorial while doing this pattern. And no sooner had you said to check under your hoop, my blue painters tape holding my backing fabric on rolled-up under the hoop and caused the whole thing to jump to different location. So when it went to do the satin stitch, the whole thing was off by 1/4". UGH. Thank you for your warning! And it's a great tutorial!!! I do wonder...what would you do if the towel was pretty big?
Hello Becky, I’m new and I’m learning a lot from your videos. So with that, I would like to thank you. THANK YOU!! What kind of towel do you recommend using for this?

Okay, following up on my previous post. I have steam ironed a piece of Wash and Gone stabilizer between two layers of fabric, and as expected, the stabilizer shriveled. However, much to my surprise, it did not stick to the fabric at all. The only reason it seems to do that in our projects is that it's held in place by stitches. The other wonderful news is that the shriveled stabilizer washes out every bit as well as it would have if it had not been ironed. I'm mourning projects I tossed because I thought they were ruined, but I'm happy to report that as long as the item is something you would wash anyway, it's not a lost cause! The only caution is to keep in mind that your synthetic threads can and do melt if the iron is too hot, and that's another mistake I've made, sadly, more than once.
You mentioned using a Sharpie Marker to cover some threads. Will this method also work on a t-shirt where some white bobbin shows on top? Afraid red marker would run on white t-shirt. Thank you.

You will need some type of embroidery software if you want to modify the design by adding a monogram. Or, you can import the design into your embroidery machine, add your letter from within inside the machine and place it in the correct location if you have a machine that will do that (which will add on to the end of the design sequence). Wash and Gone will dissipate with steam. It's the moisture that it reacts to. Pressing without steam is the way to prevent that.
