Becky I Love watching your embroidery tutorials. You are the most thorough teacher I've ever watched. You show every step. You are a wonderful teacher ❤. Thank you
Sew cute - love JuJu Designs. I like that it has an envelope back - makes it so much easier to turn. Even with a single color, I'm fascinated watching Spanky.
Thank you, thank you! I've been trying to make potholders, cutting, measuring, cutting fabrics, too much work! I just discovered the designs and got them, from now on is going to be so easy! ( I'm learning to sew, quilt and embroidery and I love ITH projects, specially because I'm always afraid of the cutter or cutting the fabrics the wrong size. You are like always a fantastic tutorial teacher 🤩 I can't wait to start having fun🥰😊🤗🌞
Cute potholders Becky! Love that fabric. I have a charm pack and fat quarter bundle and have just started digging into it. It was fun seeing Spanky in action. See you next time.
Thanks for the clear video on the in the hoop project. I’ve watched a few other ITH videos and it made no sense at all but yours was very clear. I will try one of these projects.
Becky! Oh my! You rock. I have a six needle and WAS a little afraid of it but oh my goodness. You caused me to use it in this project and I am so happy at using it as well as the pot holder. I will rock these with table runners to maker I am doing the happy dance. Please do more using the multi needle machine . Merry Christmas
Great tutorial! I come back to it everytime I make these. I did a couple of things that others may want to try. I lined them so when you're placing the insulbrite I put a piece of fabric over it right side up. I also top stitch the edge on my machine with a jean foot and needle. One thing I seem to get caught on is if you put a seam instead of using steam a seam be careful it's another place for the machine to get caught!
Bought this pattern since you were demoing it. It pays to watch you first and get tips on taping. I missed a side section and it started to turn down but caught it before a huge headache! Thanks for your great videos and tips!! Love these potholders and I’ll be making them as gifts…but maybe one for me as well.😉
Thank you so much, Becky! I just watched your tutorial & had to click the link to go straight to DBJJ to purchase this potholder design...aaannnd also set 2. Have a great week! 🤩
Hi Becky. I can’t wait to do this project. My kitchen is done in the “Pioneer Woman” series. Thank you for sharing this with us. You make it all look so easy. Have a very Merry Christmas. Elizabeth
Hi Becky! Love your video’s! Question about your iron.... what is under your mat that came with your iron? I hear you have to have it setting on something besides the mat that it comes with cause it gets “that” hot! Thanks in advance 😊
That is a silicone mat that came in a box or something I received years ago...from Fat Quarter Shop I think. The iron was so hot that I couldn't use the FQS mat all by itself but had to use the one that came with the iron as well. Both seem to do the trick but I still see a light scorch mark under them both. Fortunately, under the fabric on top of the dresser is teflon ironing board cover fabric. The dresser top should be fine. lol (I hope)
Becky, I just got an embroidery machine and I am so confused about the different programs to use for my computer. Do I need a program for the computer? Do you have videos that explain it?
Hi Becky, thank you for the great video. I have a machine that only takes up to a 6 x 10 hoop, do you think I could split the design and still have them turn out the same? Or, can the design be modified to be a little smaller?
Well, you normally can only split designs that are digitized to do that. But the design might come in a 6x10? Sorry, it's been a while since this video.
Becky, are you the one who are on Etsy: "Design by JuJu"? If yes, thanks for what you help me some weeks ago. Claudette Monty, from Quebec. I am a Manuel embroidery and looking at your video, I am doing my embroidery by hands. Have a good day.
What is the name of the iron you use ? I made the pot holder 1 today and my batting didn't stay in place---so I have to think of how to control that. The pot holder is cute--the right side border is just bigger than the left--.Thanks for your lessons !
Hi Becky, Another Great video! I have been watching a lot of ITH project videos. If I wanted to add an embroidery design, say to the front of the pot holder, would I 1.) stop the ITH project at the step just before the placement of the heatproof fabric on the back of the hoop, 2.) run the embroidery design on the same hoop, 3.) then go back to the ITH project and pick up at the step to sew the heatproof fabric? Or embroider on the front fabric before I even start the ITH project (and quilt over the design)? TIA.
Thank you for all your information and being so much fun and pleasant to watch. Did you go over a needle size? I am sorry i missed it, I love all your video. I have been quilting for twenty years, I love the fact that I can always learn more from your videos. You have great enthusiasm, I love that your husband quilt that he did for a paper piece, that was a big way to start something he never knew before. I hope that you do not have and motor home issues. Thank you so much.
My standard needle size in embroidery projects is an Organ 75/11. Unless the pattern calls for something different, that's what I always use. Thanks for the sweet thoughts and thanks so much for watching!
@@PowerToolsWithThread i just tried this , i am a little confused when you go to add the sides and top the first one (A ) placed it so you said you can still see the letter A , then you covered the letter B so mine did not come out right. What way should I do this, I am sorry to be a pest.
Question? Could you use 2 layers of the thermal material or is that not needed? And, would it help to put another layer of batting on the back side after adding the thermal material? I have loved watching your videos and look, each day, to see if there are any new ones from you. I've only been doing machine embroidery for the last 2 months and really love it. The first month was getting acquainted with the machine and the last 3 weeks I've been creating potholders, coasters and make-up bags. I'm loving it!
I don't think 2 layers of the thermal material is needed. I've been using my new pot holders to pull hot cookie sheets and casseroles right out of a 350 oven with no problems. They work great as designed.!
If I could I would give 100 thumbs up! You are so good at explaining and showing the steps. I’m so happy to have found you’re videos. Could I ask what the design number is from DBJJ?
Enjoyed your tutorial - I will have to get this from JUJU - I've never tried her ITH hot pads .....In another video you were talking about Frixion "Markers" that the marks dont come back when you erase them - Do you have a link to those markers....and do you use heat to get rid of the marks? I cant find the video you were using them in. THANKS
I am a beginner in machine embroidery; I have Embrilliance Essentials to use with my Janome 400e. My largest hoop is 7.9" square, so would I be able to size down for this to stitch out on my machine? Or would I actually be able to use my hoop and the design as is? (7.9 is soooo close to 8"!)
I suspect that your Janome won't be able to "see" the design file because it will read as too large. That said, you might try the Fit To Hoop feature in Embrilliance. The resize would be less than 20% so I bet it would work. DBJJ doesn't support or refund resized designs, but I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. Check out my video on Series 2 of these pot holders and there's a tutorial on using Embrilliance at the end. The Fit to Hoop is an icon in the menu and it's completely automatic. There's a link to Embrilliance below the video. It's only $139 and I think you'll absolutely love it. I also explain it with a video here: powertoolswiththread.com/embrilliance
Please tell me if this type pattern could be monogrammed or an design added....guessing it would be step after quilting....? I also have been seeking a good ITH oven mit too. Thanks for demo!
Thanks for the tutorial. I just bought a pot holder pattern and was a little confused on that last step. Now I understand how to add the two last pieces of fabric but I'd like to close the opening with the tape you used however I didn't see a link to it or see it at your Amazon store. Is there a link and I just didn't see it?
I'm interested in your iron, but have been unsuccessful searching for it. Could you please spell the name of the Manufacturer and possibly provide a link? I love a good hot iron!!!
What type of thread are using meaning is it rayon, cotton, not sure. I would like to make these, but always was told not to use polyester thread. Can I use rayon in my embroidery machine for pot holders. Thank you
new with Ju Ju designs. went to their website. was going to purchase the potholder design in this tutorial, but they don't seem to offer anything smaller than the 8 x 8. My Brother only goes up to 6x8. bummer...
I promised to make potholders for a friend, snd here you are, just in the nick of time!
Thank you Becky for your tutorial. I must give my embroidery machine a go! It’s good to see a project that is not too complex.
I use tearway stabilizer in a small amount of batting It worked out gorgeous
Becky I Love watching your embroidery tutorials. You are the most thorough teacher I've ever watched. You show every step. You are a wonderful teacher ❤. Thank you

Cute potholders....they'd make great mug rugs or hot pads without the loops!! Thanks for the video tutorial!!!

Hi Becky! Buy yourself a tape dispense for that 3m tape. Works great! Hello from WV
Thanks so much for doing a sew along I loved it.
So cute!
Just recently discovered your tutorials...Thank you so much! These are a tremendous help to me!
Awesome tutorial. I just bought this in the hoop project today!
Fantastic! I learned a few things today. Thanks.
Loved watching how to do in the hoop. I’ve wanted to see how it’s done & the duck billed scissors works so slick!
Just darling, Becky. I’m going to get the pattern now! Thanks

I love these potholders! I went right over to the website & purchased both sets! Wanting to make some Sprint time! Thank you for such great tutorials!
It took me 3 tries with the scarecrow lol but I’m learning
I’m new to emb applique. Can this pattern be done on a single needle embroidery machine? If so, is there a video using that type of machine?
So cute

I use masking tape when I embroider. Is there an upside to switching to the 3m you use? By the way love your videos.
Thank you for demoing this. I am getting ready to try out machine embroidery. This looks like fun. What is the tape you use?
I linked to it in the Description box. Its a 3M paper tape I get from Amazon.

I have some of that brown fabric!

Thanks for the tutorial mite get the pattern but sew on regular sewing machine and leave loop off.
Becky was the all over quilting design built into this design or did you combine two different designs? Thanks!
It's part of the basic design.
