I have to tell you that I am also a visual learner. In high school, my algebra teacher told me I had better find something to do in life that had nothing to do with math! She never showed us anything on the black board....just blah, blah, blah. I figured out I was a visual learner later in life and went on to get an accounting degree (top of my class), a master’s degree in taxation and a CPA. It is too bad more people don’t understand about visual learning.
I am just finishing up my Red, White, and Bloom quilt. It is my first Kimberbell quilt. I was really amazed about how easy it was to complete. The background quilting adds o much to the designs. I took a zoom class at my dealer’s which was absolutely amazing, but also watched MANY Tuesday Tips when I was stitching it out. They were so very helpful in clarifying how to do these techniques. Thank you so much, Kimberbell. I’m completely hooked.
Just finished my RWB quilt, and the background quilting is amazing!! Well worth the extra $ and time to quilt each block. I love that KB took the extra steps to give each block a different pattern and put it into the instructions. Thank you, Laurie, for explaining the how's & why's of using the background quilting techniques. I'm also a visual learner and these tips are always great.
so i dont understand. i bought a embroidery machine with a hoop 6x10 just so i could do this quilt. that is the largest hoop i have..no one knew at our quilt store knew that you had to have a bigger hoop...so are you saying that you can double hoop for the Background quilting. then for the embroidery my hoop is large enough.

Kimberbell is a game changer - thank you
I would like to know what design this is. I love the jar of fireflies with quilting.
Hi from Blaine WA
I just received my pattern book. I'm really excited to get started on it! :)
Very pretty fabric! Thanks
This is so helpful, are there background embroidery files coordinated specifically for quilt blocks for a particular quilt?

how do you find the desings i cant find them.
Thank you!
Thanks for the info, Sandy
Still trying to figure out how to embroider a background an inch or two bigger than the downloaded design, if that makes any sense...
If you are doing a bench pillow, does the quilting only work if it’s a block? So it wouldn’t work on the Welcome Autumn, correct?
A lot of fun.
How do we do the quilting for the borders??
