I like Daniel Radcliffe's humility. He's a fine actor but he's not arrogant and he knows that there are better actors than him, Ralph Fiennes being one of them.
+Tom Norton His self awareness does him credit he said once he was embarassed of his performance in one of the later movies,I can't remember which, I think that drive to work at what he does will earn him a oscar one day :) no where to go but up for that man I hope!
I Got to meet this actor and he did an impression for me, absolutely scary, I mean he was doing the whole thing, never held back, he circled me, his voice was slow, deadly and filled with hate, after circling me a few times he stared at me which was even scarier. Matt Lewis in an interview said about how scary it was when Ralph never took his eye off of him in Deathly Hallows part 2, and I was like "yeah sure..whatever" but then I understand what he meant. Amazing actor!
I love how at first Ralph Fiennes was indifferent to the Harry Potter franchise, and became interested looking at concept art and designs for Voldemort and wanting to dress up and wear the costume.
he is really a terrific villain. same thing he did with amon göth. if they will ever create a movie about Vlad the Impaler, he would be the best choice
I don't think there is another actor who could have done a Voldemort with as much passion and rawness that Ralph brought to the character. Brilliant casting, there.
Same. They did a fairly bad job adapting this movie to the books. But the grave yard scene is great. I guess it is Ralph Fiennes who really saves the whole damn thing as LV.
He may not have understood what he was playing entirely but Rowlings wrote a pitch-perfect psychopath. It isn't that he hates love, he hates that he is not loved. He has spent his entire life trying to get back at the people in his youth who abandoned him. His motivation is control. If people won't recognize the greatness in him, he will crush them and make them dance. Every serial killer is the same. They all want to be masters of their pain.
Love Ralph as Voldemort and love Daniel as Harry Potter. Ralph is great. But Daniel is pretty good too. Never once did Daniel Radcliffe let the actor Ralph overpower him and his onscreen presence in the films. Being so young to him and yet Daniel always managed to put Harry out as his equal as a hero in screen presence and reactions. That does say something about Daniel's talent too.
I like Rob Pattinson, but I actually thought he was incredibly awkward in the role of Cedric. Also, how could he be "100 times better" when he only had a supporting role in HP? It's not like he had to do much in it. He played a vampire in Twilight; that's nowhere near as straight-forward as playing a teenager/human.
If you want to discuss character, to be perfectly frank, you might as well blame it on the books then because book Voldemort didn't do anything more than movie Voldemort - the first actor was no more or less convincing as the CGI used was simply different on the back of a head than on a full body person - Ralph Fiennes carried the role with great dignity and intimidation
That's part of the point of Voldemort. He loses his emotions as he descends into darkness and becomes Lord Voldemort. The shift from Tom Riddle's human eyes to the inhuman red helps to show that Voldemort has lost all humanity.
I like what happened. Fiennes turned out great, and everything except the eyes is how I imagined it but... But for continuity's sake, why didn't they just use Ian Hart (Professor Quirrell) and expand the design used for the back of Quirrell's head? It's just very jarring to switch from a raspy-voiced one with an actual nose,to a nasally-whiny one with no nose.
IMO, Ralph Fiennes excels at portraying a combination of malevolence/anger and fragility. I went on a Fiennes binge because I find him fascinating to watch and have seen several films he was in. He doesn't fully convince me in the "good guy" roles. It's almost as if there's some other agenda there... (this has even been confirmed by a director). There has got to be some kind of tragedy, madness or vulnerability present for him to really inhabit the role and really get into it. In an interview with the Guardian, Fiennes said that he gets angry easily but represses it because it's an "ugly" emotion. My personal theory is that the repressed emotions come out best and strongest when he is performing. Maybe as a compensation for what is not fully expressed in everyday life. It's probably too intense and scary, and drives people away... but therefore, perfect for Voldemort, Heathcliff, Amon Goeth,... He also mentioned having a tendency to be controlling. Again, ideal for playing villains or Byronic anti-heroes.
No, he's just unable to love. He still experiences fear, excitement, confusion, anger, frustration, disgust, hatred and a host of other feelings. If the character looks completely void of humanity, it's impossible for the audience to find them believable.
Is it just me that wants Ralph Finnes to do the audiobooks I love Stephen Fry but not all his voice choices, I would just love to see another version of the audiobooks.
I remember seeing the cold, straightlaced duke in "The Duchess" 2008, when I was 9. Then my sister told me 'guess who that is'.I was like 'who?''Voldemort.''WHAT?'
Ralph deserve this role because he had different approach to Harry as Lord Voldemort and every time i see him on other movies i always tell my parents that Ralph is genius in acting. What do you think boys and girls?
Actually I think the last movie the 8th film, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 2 is the best HP movie. It was a really good movie. It had a nice and awesome, long ending to conclude the saga. Not to mention the backstory that Harry witnessed from Snape's tears.
@videomagnet06 i dont know why its pronounced different but while looking at some trivia on ralph fiennes i saw one that said thats how you pronounced it and later heard it on here. He took the role that he did in Schindlers list because his character also had a named that was pronounced differently then it was spelled.
No. The very reason they avoided that is because if the eyes are an inhuman color, it's impossible to display human emotion. It's the same reason they didn't give the Targaryens violet eyes in Game of Thrones.
I understand they had to tone Voldemort otherwise adults would’ve been having nightmares and he was incredible in the films but everyone knows Voldmeort was terrifying in the first movie when you couldn’t see him and he was just walking towards you as a black cloak that’s the essence of the character the other directors didn’t have that
cái hay của phúc đó giọng hất rất tình cảm , mỗi bài hát là bạn ấy thả hết tâm hồn và tình cảm vậy , và thể hết giống như mình đã từng trải nghiệm , i love you
What an actor. He deserves so many awards for this role. He was so good. This role was made for him
I like Daniel Radcliffe's humility.
It's not about better... It's about respect for an actor like Ralph.
+Love Dior You're right.
Tom Norton ,
Love Dior half blood prince was the movie you are talking about
Ralph plays that so well he doesn't need any of those special effects. He's awfully good at playing unhinged bad guys.
Yet such a small pile.. of hinges.
I loved his role as a Nazi. Absolutely terrifying.
@@mr.ontological9583 😂😂
Ralph might be slightly unhinged lol
I agree 100% with Timothy Spall. The way Ralph moves while playing Voldemort is full of grace and evil... It's hypnotizing... And so scary!
He literally even said "attractive" 😂😂😂
I Got to meet this actor and he did an impression for me, absolutely scary, I mean he was doing the whole thing, never held back, he circled me, his voice was slow, deadly and filled with hate, after circling me a few times he stared at me which was even scarier. He played Jesus also....irony.
Kargath Bladefist (WoD) Ikr Lolol
Ahhh, MaulGeekBeLike You lucky, lucky soul.
okaminess Yeah :)
MaulGeekBeLike . OMG I also want to meet him. Voldemort is my favourite carter in Harry Potter of all time and Ralph is such a good actor.
They say Dumbledore has style, but so does Voldy.
I love how at first Ralph Fiennes was indifferent to the Harry Potter franchise, and became interested looking at concept art and designs for Voldemort and wanting to dress up and wear the costume.
I still can't quite believe how lucky we all were to get Ralph Fiennes and Jason Isaacs in one movie. The two legends of playing villains.
Not to mention freakishly hot.
Ralph is a real Phenomenon ...Terrific actor indeed
Ralph Fiennes played Tom magnificently and elegantly.
he is really a terrific villain. same thing he did with amon göth. if they will ever create a movie about Vlad the Impaler, he would be the best choice
Well if you think about it, he couldn't even take over a school
Many films have Brits for villians I wonder why
I don't think there is another actor who could have done a Voldemort with as much passion and rawness that Ralph brought to the character. Brilliant casting, there.
2:34 I got thrills when i saw how he moved as Timothy says, "like a dancer".. he is so awesome
hahahha yeah
Ralph was the PERFECT actor for that role. HP was casted so well
Vince McMahon except for Ginny 😒
I love his robes. They're so flowy
if Ralph read to me everyday I think I would have heard more then 10 books a month ahha
Goblet of Fire is my least favorite Harry Potter film, but boy do I love it when Ralph enters as Voldemort!
I agree. This scene is pretty much the only solid one in the movie. That's about 95% because of Fiennes.
Same. They did a fairly bad job adapting this movie to the books. But the grave yard scene is great. I guess it is Ralph Fiennes who really saves the whole damn thing as LV.
This is up there with Heath Ledger's performance of joker in "The Dark Knight". No one couldve done it better.
I LOOOOVVEEE voldie's robe,... its so fluid.
Right?? Like what's it made of ??
I hear it was made up of layers and layers of very thin flowy fabric... ugh.. if I had a robe like that, I'd be wearing it everyday
Ikr! Only thing I can think of that would make it better is maybe a hood.
Fiennes was certainly an incredibly accurate and utterly terrifying impersonation of Lord Voldemort... Even I was impressed!
I agree. My only nitpicks are I wish he was more bone thin and had red eyes.
I WANT TO SEE THE LIGHT, LEAVE YOUR EYES
yeah :) :) :)
"DON'T YOU TURN YOUR BACK ON ME, HARRY POTTER! I WANT YOU TO LOOK AT ME WHEN I KILL YOUUUU!!!"
I liked this costume for Voldemort more than his later one. Made him look like smoke. Really cool
WOW! Wormtail is so much different in real life than he is in the films. What an excellent actor!
LORD VOLDEMORT is my favorite character in Harry potter
These makeup artists did an amazing job at making such a handsome man look so scary.
Wow, he's such a phenomenal actor!
it looks so comical without CGI and music, but I must agree Ralph Fiennes is a genius!
It's absolutely mesmerising to watch Ralph acting. He IS Voldemort! Amazing!
fiennes sounds so creepy reading the book
to me the 4th film is one of my favorites and I know not many people can say the same but to me is amazing
One of mine too, I like the 5th and last the most. Three is great too, as is six. - now I come to think of it, all of them are my most beloved.
Pattinson was 100 times better in HP than "Twilight". Sorry, "Twilight" fans.
i totally agree with you..
Who the hell did Pattinson play?
I like Rob Pattinson, but I actually thought he was incredibly awkward in the role of Cedric. Also, how could he be "100 times better" when he only had a supporting role in HP? It's not like he had to do much in it. He played a vampire in Twilight; that's nowhere near as straight-forward as playing a teenager/human.
dominic garcia Cedric Diggory
Me too
Omg Ralph is so adorable !!!!!
my favourite part of voldemort is his eyes… that blue shine or whatever in his eyes can hypnotise a person : D
He is So amazing actor ♥_♥
I wish there were more scenes with Voldemort. He's such a fun character:)
Wow..i didn't know Lord Voldemort is such a sexy n charming man in real life! 😇⚡😃
Ralph Fiennes even makes turning a page look dramatic.
His robes look so comfy...
Ralph fiennes was awesome as Voldemort perfectly cast
If you want to discuss character, to be perfectly frank, you might as well blame it on the books then because book Voldemort didn't do anything more than movie Voldemort - the first actor was no more or less convincing as the CGI used was simply different on the back of a head than on a full body person - Ralph Fiennes carried the role with great dignity and intimidation
If I could meet any character from Harry Potter
i would write a letter to Ralph Fiennes, saying "I'm ready."
Voldemorts floating outfit tho 👌👌👌👌
Dear Mr. Ralph......
Please come and read to me every story in the world.....
Sincerely, my ears clap for you
Daniel Day Lewis is the best actor alive but I can't see him or anyone else playing Voldemort as good as Ralph did!!!
Such an amazing actor..Got goosebumps just watching this..
Still a better love story than twilight
I found him more frightening in the first two movies. The way they presented him, used to scare the hell out of me when I was younger.
That's part of the point of Voldemort. He loses his emotions as he descends into darkness and becomes Lord Voldemort. The shift from Tom Riddle's human eyes to the inhuman red helps to show that Voldemort has lost all humanity.

erosion271 I really think it's due to different directors or special effect artists. Same with the new wand designs, new centaur designs, etc
erosion271 I prefer that reason
waaaaaaaaaait...dudley, handsome??????¿¡¡!!
Really? I personally think that he is ugly af
IMO, Ralph Fiennes excels at portraying a combination of malevolence/anger and fragility. I went on a Fiennes binge because I find him fascinating to watch and have seen several films he was in. awwww he really is a amazing actor !!!!
Fuck. Thos guy deserved an oscar for this!!!
Voldemort stole every scene in the franchise. It was the only character I was the most jealousy exiting about.
he's freaking talented! i mean RALPH FIENNES! NO ONE CAN REPLACE HIM!!!!
he is so beautiful
a great actor
No, he's just unable to love. He still experiences fear, excitement, confusion, anger, frustration, disgust, hatred and a host of other feelings. If the character looks completely void of humanity, it's impossible for the audience to find them believable.
His original face is itself scary !! He was fantastic in schindler's list as well .
so handsome and beautiful man
Is it just me that wants Ralph Finnes to do the audiobooks I love Stephen Fry but not all his voice choices, I would just love to see another version of the audiobooks.
"I WANT TO SEE THE LIFE LEAVE YOUR EYES!" Voldemort said *calmly*
I thought he was flying, the way he walked, it looked like he did not touch the ground 🤯
One of my favourite scenes!!
Didnt know that Voldamort has a nose!
Good job Ralph Fieness , you fitted good to the film and to the whole cast ♥
I hope Peter doesn’t get sick this week before business trip to Portland
Question: What was Jason Isaacs doing in front on Lord Byron's portrait?
it freaks me out that voldemort is moses brother
He was also a nazi commandant, and now he is a hotel concierge with his closest associate and lobby boy, Zero
best actor ever no can replce or be him :)
I remember seeing the cold, straightlaced duke in "The Duchess" 2008, when I was 9. Then my sister told me 'guess who that is'.I was like 'who?''Voldemort.''WHAT?'
Omg im never gonna look at Voldy the same now
2:05 he’s such a goofball I love him
Mi hermoso Ralph Fiennes, lo amo
Lord Voldemort is scary. Tom Riddle in his teenage form is creepy.
Ralphe was perfect for the role. If he didn’t play it, Daniel Day Lewis would be the next great pick
i couldn't help laughing ( dunno why...) when the boy who plays dudley in the movie was like "wow wow wow. "
it was just funny!
Greatest acting.voldemort
He was made for this role....
this guy always plays monsters...
also, i find him equally convincing with his nose as voldemort
Ralph deserve this role because he had different approach to Harry as Lord Voldemort and every time i see him on other movies i always tell my parents that Ralph is genius in acting. What do you think boys and girls?
He was brilliant in Red Dragon, awful in Clash of The Titans (next to a brilliant Liam Neeson as Zeus) and great in Harry Potter.
He was excellent as Voldemort!
HIS VOICE! Urgh! It's just so sexy :)
Voldemort really was evil... he killed Cedric and then he was turned into a "vampire," *cough* fairy.
Actually I think the last movie the 8th film, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 2 is the best HP movie. It was a really good movie. It had a nice and awesome, long ending to conclude the saga. Not to mention the backstory that Harry witnessed from Snape's tears.
YOU'RE THE BEST BAD GUY EVER!! :D:D:D
@videomagnet06 they arent saying it weird its just how his name is pronounced. Its pronounced "Rafe Fines"
live in peace
All I can think as I watch this is I want to try on those robes, they're so billowy...
Would've been scarier if they acually gave him red eyes like intended
@videomagnet06 i dont know why its pronounced different but while looking at some trivia on ralph fiennes i saw one that said thats how you pronounced it and later heard it on here. @Skaliiwaggs oh i thought maybe in england they pronounced the name ralph differently (i'm american)
got really exited when i saw robert pattinson. no idea why.
I understand they had to tone Voldemort otherwise adults would’ve been having nightmares and he was incredible in the films but everyone knows Voldmeort was terrifying in the first movie when you couldn’t see him and he was just walking towards you as a black cloak that’s the essence of the character the other directors didn’t have that
cái hay của phúc đó giọng hất rất tình cảm , mỗi bài hát là bạn ấy thả hết tâm hồn và tình cảm vậy , và thể hết giống như mình đã từng trải nghiệm , i love you
It feels so real oh my god...
All adverts must be skipped
Ralph Fiennes, best actor a live? :)
He's a very scary Voldemort!
