If this interview is "weird" and "awkward" to you, it is because you are used to chat shows that have been endlessly rehearsed, the questions asked in advance, skits prepared, jokes discussed, punchlines agreed and fake laughter timings decided. Ralph is answering quick fire questions off the cuff. This is what a normal human conversation looks like. Go back to watching Jimmy Fallon if it freaks you out.
I love Graham Norton's interview set up, it's so natural and free. He doesn't interrupt his guests or make them feel awkward. I can't stand Fallon, Colbert, and the other Jimmy for that reason.
fucking excellent point well made . Craig Ferguson was the best at having real interviews , he made them so crazy but was not afraid of the awkwardness , I wish he had stayed on that show longer. James Corden was dogshit.
I enjoyed this interview. Never thought I’d see Ralph Fiennes on WWHL, but I truly enjoyed seeing him in a more relaxed environment. Ps. The Menu looks like a must watch.
Actually Andy and Ralph are good friends from way back! I’m reading Andy’s 2nd “diary” book, “Superficial”, and Ralph and Liam Neeson are mentioned several times - they hang out all the time when they’re in NYC and London 😊
Amusing how they keep swinging in their chairs. Ralph looks like he'd rather be elsewhere but maintains a professional politeness. Him and Cohen seem like polar opposites. "Ma'm not Mum" 😂
Yeah its a British thing. There's the name St John which is pronounced "Sinjon" it's a bit weird. There's a place in Hampshire called Beaulieu but people pronounce it "bewlee" it's annoying 😆
I greet you from Germany but I am a Pole who knows a woman - a former prisoner of Auschwitz -Birkenau. Referring to your role as the camp commandant - a very difficult acting, you played realistically amazingly!
Everyone's asking why this interview is so awkward. One, it could be because Ralph is tired from doing press for upcoming movies. Two, usually there's another guest sitting with Andy but this is more of a one-on-one interview with Chef Mike standing in the background, which makes it a little bit awkward.
He is the middle of a labor intensive play that is sold out through December, the month he turns 60 and he has a big movie coming out. The fact that he even showed up to this silly show is a testament to his friendship with Andy.
Yes he is an introvert, and probably feels a bit weird being his "silly" self when watched by cameras. But he probably didn't mind, or else he could have chosen not to sign up for this..
His other interviews like on the Graham Norton show are much better. He seems like a very reserved person that has to warm up during interviews and then he becomes a bit more outgoing
0 TV IQ detected in some of these comments 😭 As someone else said, go back to Jimmy Fallon if you’re uncomfy. This is not pre-digested- this is the realness.
I never understood how voldemort could have a child since he has no feelings of love whatsoever due to being conceived under the influence of love potion. Also as he could live forever he wouldn’t need to have a legacy/hair of his own?

🤣🤣🤣 You are the man Ralph I had a blast working on The Menu with you. (YES CHEF )
Every movie he's In. Is just gold!
Andy - “Have you seen all of the Harry Potter movies?”
Ralph - “Yeah, I have. I can’t say they’ve made a lasting impression here 🧠 “ 💀😭
yeah I found that a weird answer.... why is he low key shading the HP movies in these interviews on WWHL?
He’s being honest-it’s refreshing
He also shaded ‘maid in Manhattan’. Seems like he’s not happy unless it’s some ‘Schindler’s list’ shit.
@@mickdd5944 he never liked HP
@@mickdd5944 He clarifies that it's just been a long time since he's seen them.
Why was Andy so reluctant to go to the bakery? Those baked goods look amazing! 😅🥐🥖🫓
He’s gay. Gays don’t eat baked goods. J/k

No it’s weird because it’s so…American

from the comments you would think this was awkward. it isn't at all. ralph is very open and smiley.
I enjoyed this interview. Never thought I’d see Ralph Fiennes on WWHL, but I truly enjoyed seeing him in a more relaxed environment. Ps. The Menu looks like a must watch.
wtf? he was on an old wwhl with andy where he was drunk ans talking about 'women's p~ssies' (his words).
Actually Andy and Ralph are good friends from way back! I’m reading Andy’s 2nd “diary” book, “Superficial”, and Ralph and Liam Neeson are mentioned several times - they hang out all the time when they’re in NYC and London 😊
Lmao he seems so tired.
why was this so weird im crying

Wait his first name is pronounced Raife? I never knew.

@@Raven-nx8dr but we also have people called ralph, pronounced as spelled.
Loving Ralph’s vibe.
God I love his voice

He is on stage every day starring in a sold out play in which he is the star.
It's not awkward at all. People are stupid.
Mum, mum......oh Ma'am!
Wasn’t Laser Wolf a character in Anatevka?
I love how comfortable they are with eath other
After watching this clip I went on to check the comedian he mentioned, Dave Allen, he’s incredible!
5:13 - when did andy cohen start laughing like a witch? 🧹🦹♀
Poor Ralph
hel's so our his depth, taking to a master like rarph
Ralph does not want to be there lol. Such an awkward interview
I didnt get that impression
The opposite, it’s apparent their actual friends ..the banter is on point
This was really uncomfortable. I can't tell if he didn't want to be there, or if he's just an introvert, in which case he definitely want to be there.

they're meant to be friends i think
They're very close friends and have been for years

It makes me feel awkward that his shirt is unbuttoned so far
He's a very sexy man, and the comments saying it was an awkward interview are stupid. It wasm't a Bravoleb interview with all the antics and effects.
Смотреть видео одно удовольствие. Мистер Файнс - Бог❤❤❤😊
I think the interviewer craziness scared Fiennes. In Europe people aren't used to that, I think!
I love Ralph as an actor but dear lord he’s a painful guest. The amount of work required from Andy just to keep the bus moving. 🤨
have you seent eh one where he waas drunk with andy before?
@@bluebellbeatnik4945 No! Now I need to see that - did Ralph get more or less interesting? 😁

Ralph shouldn’t have to go on a show like this 🤦♂️ A waste of his time. It is Mam as in Jam.
wow ralph has his whole shirt unbuttoned. why even come with a shirt?
why u bothered

Wow, he seems so dull
He's just normal rather than showbiz. He's a serious actor not an entertainer
