I watched this masterpiece at a time when I was at my lowest. The academic pressure was too much to bear. I would just go on road highways listening to this without caring about my life. One night after walking for miles the sun started to rise, it felt like I'm living in the moment. Everything just started to feel like nothing. The pain much more bearable. It's been almost 5 years now but I still remember that night. This is the video that took me out of that phase and gave me enough motivation to keep going.

Things changed drastically since then and the situations deteriorated but today i can say one thing that i have the power and strength to stand head-on to whatever comes. I have tears in my eyes and goosebumps when the speaker says, "yours is the earth" and "make allowance for their doubting too". The poem empowers me to change the situations i am in and a belief that i too can make it!

My father showed me this poem to me years ago after first meeting him, getting to know the man at 18. I understood the poem as he read it to me but never truly knew what it really meant. I dealt with a massive ego death, realized my mistakes and misfortunes, saw the true nature of people I loved and the ones I thought I loved. Betrayal, exiled from a career I love and being pushed aside from a town I spent over half my life in. A broken heart due to a love I now know was more foreseeable than at the time of having it. Harassed by groups of men that I don't think will ever truly understand what this poem means. Two years after his passing, the pain of it hit me with a force that I can never describe with words and sometimes it too still hits me, like a wave against a cliff along the shoreline. When I hear/see this video I think of him, sad that I can't tell him that I finally know the meaning of this poem. Not understand. Know.

These words are for all the disaffected men in this world. The boys without fathers. The men without aim. The lads without hope.
You will never be perfect, but you can aim to always be better than you were yesterday. Become strong and reliable so that other people will see you as a rock in their storms.
Then hopefully you will find others that will do the same for you. But even if you do not, at least you will leave this world knowing that you were a Man unlike any other in your life.

I love the final shot in the meadow with the poppies. Just beautiful!

    •  4 года назад +3

Uh… actually they're poppies, not roses.
In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
(In Flanders Fields - John McCrae)

ABOUT SUBTITLES (and this is especially addressed to Wallace Valesi, Dr. Matheus Neu & Hichem Mekhoukh) :
the French & Italian subtitles available in the scroll menu are those that I had sent RedFrost Motivation but it took them several months to hit the “publish” knob because they have a bunch of videos online (and they’re producing more) so that they have little time to devote to each one. Since those French & Italian subs were published, I sent them some more, viz. the Portuguese (Brazil), Arabic and Russian subs. That was already several months ago, I expect RedFrost to publish them shortly.
