Update on this Honda. I did find a set of new Honda factory floor mats that match the carpet and we did get the seat repaired by an awesome auto reupholster shop here in town. It is garaged in the winter here but does get driven at least once per week when it is dry out. Just an awesome little car!
Saw one silver 1.5 dxi for 1900 euros here in nederlands thinking of traininn my french shitbox megane 2 1.6 16v from 2005 for the silver one has only 150 000 kms
I'd leave it as is. Probably wouldn't even tint. No intake, no mods. But I'd replace the the paper filter with a K&N in the factory box. (Probably know this but use NGK spark plug's. ) Just enjoy it as is.
J., believe it or not, that was all that the original owner used for spark plugs. I even found a set of new ones, in the box, next to the spare tire! V-max or something like that. He changed them on a regular basis, this was all in his car log. I am contemplating a K & N drop in filter as we have that in all of our vehicles.
travisp11 All three of my vehicles has drop in K&N filter's. They do help with saving gas. And if you plain on keeping. It will save money not buying paper filters all the time.
I have a K & N in my Jeep and my wife's Honda Insight. Yeah, you definitely save money in the long run and I swear the increased air flow makes for a bit more power.
travisp11 Maybe a little power. I have a 2000 Buick LeSabre with 3.8 liter. I was only getting 17mpg. With OEM spark plugs and synthetic blend oil,and K&N I'm now getting 20.9 MPG
J. Dalton IMHO 10% ethanol blend gas lowers fuel economy. Luckily, out here I can still get 87 octane non-ethanol fuel. Costs 30 cents more per gallon but I think the mileage is better and it doesn't wear out your fuel system components as fast as ethanol.
Ah, to be in 2017. Cars like this were already increasingly rare, since they were cheap and gobbled up by high schoolers around the early 2010s. The passage of time and living in a post-pandemic era just means we’ll never return to this point.
Thats a very clean EG!!! I have a 93 Honda Civic Hatchback as well completely stock and with 72k original miles. Awesome cars and yes keep as stock as possible!
I’m in love! I owned a 1993 Civic Si in 1999. This is a car I wish I would have kept. I love the manual locks and windows! Love how the sunroof opens outside rather than tuck in the roof. I also love the little tailgate. If I buy one again I’d like to do a b18c1 gsr swap or even a k20z3 swap. If I had one this clean I’d keep the stock d16 for sure. 4k is an amazing price! I know this video is 7 years old but damn! Mine was red too! This makes me miss mine sooooo much! I traded mine for a 2000 Civic si. Great car but I miss the hatch so much
I have almost the same car, similar condition. 92 Civic Si, bone stock with the exception of JDM alloy wheels and aftermarket radio. I bought the car new in 92 and it's still a 1 owner car. I'm glad I'm not the only one still rocking this car, people leave notes on the car or ask if it's for sale all the time.
travisp11 Everything has a price, surprised your car was $4K...I didn't realize a 20+ year would be worth that much. Good news if I ever decide to sell mine.
Terrence Chin The NADA book price was $3500 but I paid a bit more (I did a payment plan with the owner and paid a bit extra in order to ensure I would get the car). Original cars, unmodified, especially performance models don't always follow book price. Case in point, look at what low mileage Fox Body Mustangs are bringing these days on eBay. They are 2-3 time higher than NADA and Kelly Blue book values.
Hi Terrence. I have a 1992 white EG 3 EL bought new in April 1993. Still bone stock and it is my daily now since then, one owner one driver. Greetings from sunny Jamaica.
It's nice to see a car that actually someone truly took care of and it shows. I see 5 year old cars 3 times the price of this one new and are just trashed. Kudo's to the original owner as it shows his attention to detail in keeping it clean.
It helps that the first owner was a 65 year old retired airplane mechanic that bought it back in 1995. He maintained it following all factory specified recommendations. Owned it for 20 years...I'm hoping to keep it as long as possible.
I just picked up a bone stock 2000 Honda Civic 5 speed hatchback in red, off the second owner, and I'm loving it! In my honest opinion, the 5th generation Civics in perfect condition like you have are basically all gone now, and if you're someone who is looking for a mint Civic hatchback, clean 6th generation hatchbacks are still plentiful and you can still scoop one up for a good deal without looking too hard.
Daymmm its hard to find a clean n stock EG these days. Im still on the hunt to find s decent one bcuz ive owned 2 in my teens yrs n i miss driving it!!! Good come up bro
Excellent car! Should look into getting some OEM Civic floor mats and an OEM Civic Si/Ex front lip. Oh yeah and definitely some OEM mudguards and possibly some OEM window visors. It would definitely set it off even more! I just love all the extra OEM optional equipment especially with it being the Si model and not just the Dx,Cx,Vx. And get a aftermarket alarm, please!
Mandy Skimhorn I will definitely get some floor mats to start and a bra cover for the front of the hood (only gonna put it on for road trips). The car is parked in a locked garage and won't be left outside overnight so I dont want to cut into they wiring with an alarm. Good suggestions, though!

Great find, so rare to find red EG's with healthy clear coat in tact. Interesting the difference between EG variants in Australia vs US. Here we have the Breeze (base model), GL, GLi, VTi and then the quite rare Si with the D16A8. I have a VTi with the D16Y1. All models apart from the pov pack Breeze have electric everything, but none ever got cruise control, and all models had grey interior trim.
Kye Rees Thank you for the very cool information! Yeah, our version of the Si had very few options but was done to keep the price low. Thanks for watching!
My first car was a 1993 Honda civic DX hatchback then my second hatchback was a 1994 White CX hatchback. For winter I’m using a white 1994 Honda Civic Sedan EX ! Lol
Me and my dad are currently looking at a Civic just like this, same color, just a lower trim level (we're in Europe). It's all original, and if I'm very lucky to get it the only modifications I plan to do on it are to make it a bit better for track day and "sporty" driving (better seats from the later Civic, sports steering wheel, strut bar) and a discreet tone muffler to have it make some nice noise. This video inspired me to look for a red Gen5 Civic hatchback!
If you want to tint it you could just find tint that is not dark at all but has great UV protection! And I’d suggest just surfing eBay looking for JDM Honda wheels! There’s a lot of awesome wheels out there for these little 4 lugs.

I’ve been offered up to $20K for mine - I bought it for $2500 LoL #Investment
I have an uncle that bought a 95' honda civic, drove great! Unfortunately, he was a drunk driver, so he got into a car wreck, nobody got hurt but the car was destroyed. This honda civic sort of reminds me of a chevy cavalier judging by the front grill.
Actually I would recommend you tint it. We have had the same Mazda for 43 years and the tinting brings out the paint and really makes it pop. The red you have fades very badly. The back bumper will be where you will first notice it and I can see it a bit on yours. The cover above the rear screen or "spoiler" also fade fast. Civics from the mid 70's were mad to drive...they were very light and had torque aplenty.
Travisp11 O.K., take it from me, do not respray the Honda. Serious collectors will tell you there are criteria for an old "original" car. Along with no mods, another is original engine/running gear, log books, original purchase receipts, original interior AND original paint. The paint and engine are the most important original aspects of a vehicle. Yours already looks immaculate. You can always spend a few hundred bucks on a detail but be careful as some may ruin the paint with "swirl" marks but you have already cleaned it yourself. The sun is the worst thing but you are garaging it. Just leave it. It's brilliant the way it is and much better than modern rubbish including the new Civic which is a complete departure from the original Civic ethos of a small car that is highly manoeuvrable with good visibility that is easy to park.
Epi Rock Yeah, we won't be slamming this one. If we keep it stock it should retain it's value. A few little cosmetic upgrades never hurt, though. We may add a set of alloys wheels, but that is all.
That is one clean EG6! I really love this red called "Milano Red" and in my opinion this is my favorite Civic aside the Type R this would look better if it had Mugen RNR wheels along with Mugen bucket seats with harnesses and a Mugen steering wheel and NightKids sticker on the side windows to make it look like Shingo Shoji's EG6 from Initial D
I do tint and would recommend it at least a 35% all the way around it will help the interior a hundred percent plus AC will be ice cold and like you said it can be removed
Nice find and an appreciating classic. Not sure you'll get what you're asking for it, but I bet it would bring good money on BAT. I've been driving a blue 92 for over 20 years, great car! If you want to keep it close to stock, the only two mods I think are worthwhile are a strut tower brace, which I think the Si should have come with from the factory, and a set of lightweight 14" alloy wheels to replace the heavy stock steelies. I'm partial to the 7 spoke 63852s which I've been running on mine for years. They are 11.5 lbs vs the steel 18 lbs, so you save 26 lbs of rotating mass just like that. They are similar to the 8 spoke HX wheels and most can't tell the difference. A K&N type intake tube and cone filter will give you a midrange bump but at the cost of a lot of noise. They're fine but don't lose the original intake. I have tint on mine and no regrets as I live in a place that gets pretty hot in the summer. Other than that, though, I would leave it alone. Replace parts as needed with Honda OEM and it'll last forever. And yes, only NGK plugs.
haqitman we are gonna hold on to it for a while. Once it turns 25 we can get classic insurance for it since it only is driven once per week and only in nice weather.
haqitman You suggested many of the mods that I have considered. We are gonna keep it tint free just because it is such a unique look that you just don't see anymore but I am considering some lightweight alloys to save some weight on each wheel. Awesome suggestions and thank you!!
Great video man! Hey can you please 🙏🏽 get a Go Pro and do some driving vids on that pretty rare Civic Si that you have! You are lucky to have scored that Honda! I've only seen a few of those Si hatchback variants on the road and I've been into Honda's since i was 13 and learning how to drive my uncle's 1993 Acura Integra GS-R 4 door manual transmission. 1st car i was taught to drive was that integra 5 speed stick. Right now I'm whipping a 1993 Honda Accord EX Coupe/5 speed manual transmission. I luv the way that car looks for some reason! Sharp, unique, and conservative at the same time. It also has the sealed glass headlights like yours just a different size and shape.
I had one of these in black. It was the first car I ever purchased. Regretfully, I traded it in for a 2005 V6 Saturn Vue (yick) because we needed a bigger car that could fit a baby seat. :\ I don't regret the baby, though lol, just getting rid of my Civic :(
Thank you for this video. I landed a completely stock 1995 Honda Civic Si in mint condition and almost identical in every way. I do intend to keep it that way. The exhaust on mine appears stock but a bit loud, so I'm just trying to find out what it's actually supposed to sound like. That's surprisingly hard to find on RUclips.
Alex P That's awesome!! Man, I know people say that stance is the next big thing but it is sooooo tough finding a mint, unmodified Civic. It will only appreciate in value as time goes on.
I really want this car!!! Im driving a low mileage unmodified honda civic 1994 civic CX the base model and its automatic. Its so hard to find an SI that is bonestock here in Canada. But nevertheless i always enjoy driving it!!!!!!!
@@travisp11 wow thats a good price!!! Hopefully i can find an SI... But for now CX would do for me. Have a good say sir and stay safe through this pandemic!
Let me know if you want to sell it. I had a 1992 Blue Civic SI. The 92' Civic SI had the Grey pinstripe seats which looked awesome. I opted to have my own am/fm/cd radio put in at the time. The car brand new was on $13.000. What a bargain.
Zachary Yassir Gonzalez My hatch has power steering. As for mileage I use only 87 octane, ethanol free gas and I get 35mpg on the highway. I'd guess 25mpg around town. This car was completely maintained so I have not had to do anything to it. Keep an eye on changing your timing belts and valve adjustments, as well as regular oil changes and you should be set.
Awesome car, and video. I learned to drive stick in one of those. So fun. I'd go without tint for a more original look. I agree with getting some OEM Honda wheels; maybe the Civic VX/HX rims.
very cool video in love my 92 honda accord but it's not in the greatest condition with the body at least the engine and everything else is just fine. I love these old Hondas they're easy to work with and great starter cars.
@@vanquishstorm3806 I might be willing to sell if you are interested. Most people tell me Im crazy when I tell them how much I want but I just saw one sell on bring a trailer.com for $9600 back in August. That one has less miles but I don't think what I want is unreasonable. Considering how mine is basically showroom new, with the exception of a few minor exterior details you don't just see these sitting around, especially unmodified.
@@travisp11 Considering the all original clean condition that your car is in with only one prior owner makes the car that much more valuable. Not to mention it's also an Si! I would try to preserve that car oem as much as possible. Thank you for the offer.
wow nice score!! keep it original! Definetley tint it if your not gonna garage it. also consider a nice paint preservative like jetseal or CQuartz. if you do have to modify it, try to keep it period correct. like an hks sport exhuast, and some SSR or racing hart wheels. the types of things you actually would have used in the mid 90s. if your interested I can delve much deeper into it.
nice! makes me miss my 94 civic si in white which was also a one owner. but the paint wasn't as good as yours. i kick myself everyday for buying a newer car and end up selling the civic.
GODSGUNSGLORY We are planning on keeping this one for a long time. I hear ya on your Civic. I had a mint 72' Cutlass Supreme that I still regret selling to this day.
All I would really do, is get some nice wheels. That's it!! And keep the original ones too in case you plan on selling it. Other than that everything I would leave it just the way it is.
@@travisp11 i live in australia and there are not much eg's here. i am planning to restore and keep it for longer time and who knows maybe the worth would be like trueno's! haha..

Miss this car also miss my teenage
Just like mine 1992 bone Stock and i will keep it like that 🙏🏼
Actually I would recommend you tint it.
Club 1 Fan This car is garaged daily so that will help sun fading. We are debating a new paint job with Honda paint but are not sure yet what to do.
Club 1 Fan That you for the advice! It will stay original and completely unmodified.
Update, I had the small wear areas in the side bolster professionally re-upholstered so now it looks good as new.
so cool man its si, my 93 eg hatch still with me for 2 years now
Awesome! We are hoping to hold onto this for a very long time!
that's what im thinking, mine is still look stock, i only add some cheap exhaust tip, lugnuts, bumper lip and no stance :)
Epi Rock Yeah, we won't be slamming this one. If we keep it stock it should retain it's value. A few little cosmetic upgrades never hurt, though. We may add a set of alloys wheels, but that is all.
This looks well taken care of compared to my 93 CX hatch. But I'm building mine and swaping the engine out.
Dominick Rice right on!
Hope you got another 300k miles out of it. That's the most reliable car you'll ever have. Even has cruise control. That was a luxury option on those.
KIJARO Garaygay Right on!
I do tint and would recommend it at least a 35% all the way around it will help the interior a hundred percent plus AC will be ice cold and like you said it can be removed
Jonathan Rodriguez Good suggestion!
Such a beautiful car. The only thing I would do to this is if I own this car I’d wrap it/paint it a dark grey color.
Gonna keep it all original but a wrap would look cool and would be easy to do!
Wow thats just beautiful car.
Panchito Ramirez Thank you!
I had exactly like that in 2003 ( just silver) from Spain imported.
Still looking for car like that to buy
i just bought one like this all stock but with less miles 109 I am lucky!
sv991311 Awesome!
Nice and clean car as that is a keeper...Standard transmission too boot....Good stuff....
Scott F. Definitely! It is very fun to drive.
Thank you for the feedback and comments! Unfortunately, we sold the Civic last spring as we have moved and no longer have a place to store the car.
35% tint is good all around. Not to dark and not to light.
The good ol days!
No where Man! Yup!
Wow. That's amazing
Matt Klinger Thanks!!
4K is great price...gem
Congratulations
I really want this car!!! Im driving a low mileage unmodified honda civic 1994 civic CX the base model and its automatic. Its so hard to find an SI that is bonestock here in Canada. But nevertheless i always enjoy driving it!!!!!!!
Man, she was built in Canada back in 95 by Honda for US domestic sales! I love her but we had to sell her due to a change of residence last spring!
@@travisp11 oh thats too sad!!!! And how much did you sell it for???
Timothy Dayao $6500 I believe.
@@travisp11 wow thats a good price!!! Hopefully i can find an SI... But for now CX would do for me. Have a good say sir and stay safe through this pandemic!
Timothy Dayao you be safe, too!
Let me know if you want to sell it. I had a 1992 Blue Civic SI. The 92' Civic SI had the Grey pinstripe seats which looked awesome. I opted to
have my own am/fm/cd radio put in at the time. The car brand new was on $13.000. What a bargain.
Mike Bingham sorry to have to tell you this but we ended up moving and I sold her. I didn’t have a garage to store her so I had to let her go.
My favorite car I've owned was my '94 Civic Si.
Saved Life Very cool!!
I love it! Thats my dream car!
Zachary Yassir Gonzalez She is beautiful!
Is your hatch has a power steering? Hows the mpg? Im planning to get one. Hows the maintenance?
Zachary Yassir Gonzalez My hatch has power steering. As for mileage I use only 87 octane, ethanol free gas and I get 35mpg on the highway. I'd guess 25mpg around town. This car was completely maintained so I have not had to do anything to it. Keep an eye on changing your timing belts and valve adjustments, as well as regular oil changes and you should be set.
travisp11 can i get a 1995 hatch with no power steering? A base model with no sunroof?
Zachary Yassir Gonzalez Maybe a DX or lower model with less options.
Awesome car, and video. I learned to drive stick in one of those. So fun. I'd go without tint for a more original look. I agree with getting some OEM Honda wheels; maybe the Civic VX/HX rims.
I'm interested they still have it?
Unfortunately I was forced to sell when I moved as I didn’t have a place to safely store the car.
Almost as clean as mine i have a 1992 civic si eg hatch
Your lucky buddy
very cool video in love my 92 honda accord but it's not in the greatest condition with the body at least the engine and everything else is just fine. I love these old Hondas they're easy to work with and great starter cars.
Hey man, as long as it runs and runs well, that is all that matters! Thanks for watching!
NOT into Hondas, but very nice find!
Xavier Lemos thank you!!
That car is gorgeous!
Thanks!
@@travisp11 I had one back in 2001. It was my first car after graduating high school. I been hunting for a clean stock one for a long time now.
@@vanquishstorm3806 yup. We start it weekly and warm it up and it went to a few car shows this summer but that is about it. We love it.
wow nice score!! keep it original! Definetley tint it if your not gonna garage it. also consider a nice paint preservative like jetseal or CQuartz.
if you do have to modify it, try to keep it period correct. like an hks sport exhuast, and some SSR or racing hart wheels. the types of things you actually would have used in the mid 90s. if your interested I can delve much deeper into it.
jacob ledbetter It will be garaged unless taken to shows but I will honor the period correct mods tradition. Thanks for watching!
jacob ledbetter I'm not planning on doing anything more to it than some Honda carpet floor mats and some alloy wheels, but thank you for the offer!
nice civic si eg hatchback clean
Thanks!
nice! makes me miss my 94 civic si in white which was also a one owner. but the paint wasn't as good as yours. i kick myself everyday for buying a newer car and end up selling the civic.
GODSGUNSGLORY We are planning on keeping this one for a long time. I hear ya on your Civic. I had a mint 72' Cutlass Supreme that I still regret selling to this day.
Oops, meant to say that the tuner scene didn´t explode until The Fast and The Furious came out, not 2 Fast 2 Furious.
travisp11 maybe to you but it was going in America before that.
Austin Bables I meant in the part of the country where I live, the fly over states.
Kane Lyon I may do a top 10 things that I love about my Civic video.
All I would really do, is get some nice wheels. That's it!! And keep the original ones too in case you plan on selling it. Other than that everything I would leave it just the way it is.
I hate to admit it but I sold the Civic last year when I moved. Didnt wanna do it but a change in location for work and a divorce made it happen.
I would make this a proper track weapon :)
But it is such a fun car to drive as is.
i have that a stock 1992 eg sedan so proud bought one from a an old mate ! that eg would be for keeps..
jepoy musikero they are great cars!
@@travisp11 after watching your video, i got inspired to retain the car in stock! i just realised that the car i bought is totally stock from '92!
@@Filipinopride18 Do not modify it! They are bringing quite a bit right now over at bringatrailer.com!
@@travisp11 i live in australia and there are not much eg's here. i am planning to restore and keep it for longer time and who knows maybe the worth would be like trueno's! haha..

You shouldn’t have this car🤦🏼♂️ this thing deserves to be built💯
I don't. I sold it two days ago to somebody who will.
I love mine wish It was a si but still it will be mine till I die
Right on!!
I want that engine in my ed6 !
i would throw oem ITR suspension and sway bars just to make it take turns a tad bit better
I'm keeping her bone stock.
I want this car
Wow what a deal for $4K. Would go for at least $16K easy 2022 IMO.
Engine Bay ❤ !!!! HONDA FOR LIFE 😈 my condolences
Use ceramic tint that is clear, but blocks out the heat
biopqq Good idea! The car is always garaged but I may consider getting that done. So far, all that I have done is added new, original, factory carpet floor mats.
Beautiful car!!
Thanks!
looks awesome
Thanks!
Awesomeness sell it to me please lol bet man say yes🤙🏼🙌🏼🙏🏼 I sold mine to make my wedding no regrets but understand it was my baby need it back lol thanks.
I'd love to but we sold it last spring before we moved. Thanks for watching!
