I agree. I think the SI was Honda's sports trim and the EX was their luxury trim. The EX had all the options and power windows, but it was offered in a 2-door coupe and not a hatchback.
Depends the market..usdm si means d16z6 1.6 vtec engine And sunroof Canada si is just the fancy way calling it ex While their SiR is like the 99-00 usdm civic si (which for us is the best ) While japan sir 2 means its what the entire world wants The best b16b type r Right hand drive and the other best things honda made legit for the chassis

Did it have the vtec? SI seems should have one. If yes in what rpm it turns on?
Yes, it had the D16 motor with VTEC. From what I recall, it kicked in around 3000 to 3500 rpm.
