@@brenxbux yeah bro. You have to understand ford Europe has been making badass cars for decades. Ford europe and US Ford were basically seperate companies. In 2011, because of the financial meltdown ford made the decision to basically share engineering. And develop one line of cars that they sell in all markets. When they made that decision a bunch of massive changes happened. They created coyote V8. The build quality, reliability, fuel economy and power massively improved. Any Ford from 2011 and up is actually really really good. Also around the same time Mitsubishi ended the evolution. Alot of the engineers from that project lost their jobs and were rehired by ford performance and GM. Those guys are a big part of why the cars are getting more like the JDM tuner cars and "European" and more performance oriented. Ford also restructured themself as a global company. Actually it would. American car's break down before the lease or car payments are done. lol Japanese and German cars usually hold the quality much higher and longer.
@Naveed Sekender I agree with BMW engines untouched by other manufactures. If you look at the motor on the outside it may look the same as the BMW but the internal components on BMW motor has been changed to Toyota standards. This is why the two motors make different outputs in power and torque. Toyota will only give it a badge of approval if it meets the Toyota longevity stress testing.
Thats a 100% valid choice. As a Mitsubishi fan, I have learned to value car companies that actually build durable engines that can last 3 decades instead of using crappy plastic everywhere that breaks down within 10 years of ownership. These reviewers really got down to the crux of it: the Mustang and Supra are very close with V8 NA to I6 Turbo, American vs German muscle. The Ford just simply cost way less and seats 4. And the Mustang has an optional manual transmission. Makes the inner jdm child within me crushed 😂😔
It’s like that scene in fast & furious (2009) The same thing was said “Muscle beats import every time” I don’t agree with it all the time but the callback was jokes
Zayd Mohammad I only took one difference but I also said it’s a completely different car altogether. I’m well aware of all the difference. The reason I pulled the engine difference is because twin turbos always tend to smoke over naturally aspirated because of initial low end torque
Still debating on getting an M2 Comp or Supra, I love me a 5.0 but weight and tuning capabilities outweigh a loud V8 which is my only desire for American Muscle
All 3 cars weights between 1620-1680kg (mustang is the heaviest) so it isn't that big difference. M2C and supra are cheap to mod to get quite a lot of power, but you would probably get way more power out of that 5.0 with supercharger/turbo, but it would cost a lot. I would probably choose turbocharged miata :) but from those 3, probably mustang, just because of price.
@@Kocan7 the Supra and M2C are 3-400lbs (150kg) lighter than the Mustang, which is pretty significant. I'm not just going for raw power because I understand a whipple 5.0 would destroy any tuned Supra or M2C with stock internals, what I want is a powerful 10sec car that can also corner and handle well. That's why I rather own a 500hp 3400lbs car than a 700hp 3900lbs car
I never envisioned myself owning a Mustang, having grown up on 3 decades of imports, mainly VW/Porsche/Audi (including a modified 911 Turbo), but I’ve got a track-suited Mustang now also. Just for the sound I’d choose it over nearly anything else. Every drive is an uproarious great time. On a fun per dollar basis, it’s right there with a stellar sport bike. I don’t really have any attraction whatsoever to the Supra, especially given how unattractive is the styling.
Mustang for sure took both. First, with the same tires on the Mustang as the Supra, it would easily shave off a second. Second, he done how many practice laps in the Supra? and 1 in the Mustang?

@@klemzale5370 Oh i'm sure it would! But that's not what we're comparing you know? Don't get me wrong i'm not hating on the Supra it's just that it costs a lot more money for less performance both in a straight line AND on the track. I say on the track as well cuz if his windows were up on his best hot lap it woulda been tied at the least! The Supra probably has more potential but as compared, the GT wins! Especially if they went with the PP2!
@Jason Reyes I don't think anyone understood that
That mustang held back so much I've watched it drag race before it jumps off the line like an actual drag car
It prob was not in drag mode.
@Scammer Sanchez - It clearly wasn’t in drag mode. You can tell by the soft shifts. If it had been in drag mode it would have laid a set of short 11’s when it shifted from first to second.
*this channel also promote cars too so they have to make it so the Supra is as fast as the mustang.*
Drag mode ACTIVATE
That's because most if not all mustangs nowadays at the drag strip are modded this one was stock with the pp1 not the faster pp2, also the 2021 supra is faster than both mustang packages stock bc they improved the acceleration on the top end
This is by far and away the best episode you guys have ever done!!. the presence of track telemetry and overall experience is perfect!!
You could get a mustang GT PP2 for the price of the Supra and beat it in all aspects

What have we learned? The CTR is a performance bargain
Haha yup!
how is it a bargain when even a used one with 20k miles cost more than the sticker price? youll be luck finding one at msrp let alone anything below 40k besides the pp2 mustang will beat it, and would destroy it on the straight by bus lengths, same goes for the supra.
@@letsroll2463 Except that they stick around the 37k range almost exclusively, where the hell do you live? Which is at least 10k below both a PP2 Mustang, as well as the Supra, if you can find one even close to MSRP. 10k less, for a car that faster than one of those, and only 2 seconds slower than the other... in a front wheel drive platform. By definition, that is a bargain.
And imagine thinking straight line speed matters in the slightest, lmao
The much faster ss 1le can be had under 40k pretty commonly, CTR is a performance bargain, ss 1le is a better one.
fikes73 what’s a CTR?
Can you do a BMW M2 competition vs the Toyota Supra 2020 track test? :D
obviously the M2C will be far superior...
Maybe but I just want to see more M2 content 8-)
ArmanE46 no it’s not. Check out Jackie dings video and other reviewers 🤣
Thien Phan @12:41 you can clearly see the lap times for the M2c and it kills that Supra... it all depends on the track! Supra for short and M2c for long.
Sorryimtruthful exactly my point, it’s not “far superior” at all. Yes I see the time stamps, but long track = horsepower, which the Supra needs more of. As far as cornering, it takes a dump on the m2c
Would love to see this again with the ‘21 supra and 47 more horses.
Stats are the same.. I’m pretty sure the first release had the same amount of power if not really close they just claimed the numbers to be far lower to surprise the consumer and make the vehicle seem more impressive

What made you pick something front wheel drive though? To each their own, and as far as fwd cars go it seems like you'd need something crazy like a megane 275 or cupra R (neither of which we can get here if i remember correctly) to beat the civic on performance and price and feel. I just would never buy a fwd car if I could get a rwd one instead, so I was curious what made you choose it : p
@@jacobl6714 Just know, the Civic Type-R is faster than both of those on the track, while having a ton more cargo space, passenger space, and better fuel economy! Not to mention it's a riot to drive with one of the best manual systems on market, and the fantastic front seats. I can roll up to the track with my complete tool set and track tires, quick swap and go. You can't do that with a 'stang or Supra. FWD doesn't matter on the track, it's still a blast. And you're always the underdog because people are "hurdur FWD", until they realize how great the car is regardless.

And made some factories more specialised and that dramatically improved quality.
@@brenxbux I was a huge import guy but times have changed the America cars from 2011 up are amazing. The performance and value for money is great, but they are actually very well engineered and super easy to work on.

@Naveed Sekender I agree with BMW engines untouched by other manufactures. If you look at the motor on the outside it may look the same as the BMW but the internal components on BMW motor has been changed to Toyota standards.

Zayd Mohammad that’s a different car altogether. One is NA 5.0 v8 and the other is a twin turbo 4.4 v8. Shouldn’t be even compared in the same place
Zayd Mohammad I only took one difference but I also said it’s a completely different car altogether. I’m well aware of all the difference. The reason I pulled the engine difference is because twin turbos always tend to smoke over naturally aspirated because of initial low end torque
M5 true comparison would be gt500
