I found the ham base on Amazon. My local stores didn’t have that one. I use it when I make my white gravy and eat that over biscuits. It is delicious. What did I do before ham base???!! This soup looks so delicious. The recipe is a keeper!
That was so sweet when Steven said “yeah I’m recording bc I knew when you looked up I would get to see your face!” I almost cried! My husband passed away I’m sure you know bc I bring it up in each of my comments it seems! And I’m sorry! When Steven said that about getting to see your face, all I could think about was the last time I heard my husbands voice or saw his face. He couldn’t talk but I saw his face when he took his last breath. That’s why I cried when Steven said that to you. Love like there’s no tomorrow. You two are phenomenal together.

Mandy, I have made your ham and navy bean soup in the instant pot at least 5 times since Christmas. We just love having both the beans and potatoes.I make biscuits, cornbread or homemade dinner rolls with it. I’m 78 and do all the cooking for my wife and I.she can cook very well but doesn’t like to cook. I love to cook so it works out.

The best thing about baking a big ham is being creative with the leftovers. I always use the bone for a thick rich soup with lots of ham chunks. Your recipes look so mouthwatering delicious. Some of them remind me of grandma's cookin.

I save all the ham juice with the ham. I divide my left over ham in half and freeze them. Then from 1 I make bean soup and the other boiled dinner. YUMMY!!!

Great video for ham leftovers! I will be using all of these. We are empty nesters with only one daughter home this year. I’m sure I will have a lot of ham left over. Ham freezes so well; I will use these recipes all year long! Happy Easter. HE has risen!

I love ham, even as a kid I ate ham and cheese every day. I use leftover ham and Aldi Scalloped/AuGratin potatoes in the Instant Pot so yummy and quick. Can't wait to have it on Monday. Happy Easter.

Absolutely nothing better than a big Pot of Great Northern Beans with a big Hambone cooking in them with a big Pone of Cornbread! Thats even better than the actual big Dinner that the Ham came from! A few slices of Tomater and a hunk of onion to go with a big ole bowl of Beanscn Ham and Cornbread! No way to top that meal.... Ohh my Gosh, Yummy! Thanks Mandy! We always take a ladle of the beans and mash them to a paste and add back in. It thickens up the soup. This looks delish. A little chopped raw onion is good. Absolutely freeze bean soup, add a grilled cheese and fast delicious dinner or lunch.
I make the navy bean soup without potatoes. We love it. You guys are a sweet couple ❤

Hi Mandy! I'm not a super big commenter, but I just wanted to let you know that I made the ham and potato chowder as one of the Easter side dishes for my family. I'm not a huge ham fan so instead opted to make chicken for the main protein, but tried to keep the ham tradition somewhere. My entire family LOVED it, and since my oldest son (who is 7) loves soup, it will definitely be in rotation here. Keep up the amazing videos! I love the inspiration, and watching you and Steven together gives me a laugh every single time. ❤
Made the Ham and Potato Chowder 0:25. Came out excellent and a keeper recipe. Had left over ham and needed something to do with it. I did do the crumbled bacon - via griddle, but I think I'm going to leave that out the next time. The green onion and cheddar cheese topping definitively fits it. Very easy recipe to make especially with a food chopper / dicer as shown in the video.

Ya'll, if God could've blessed me with a relationship like you & Steven have, I wouldn't complain about anything at all. I wanted to say about your potato & ham chowder, that you could mash some of the potatoes or add some instant dried potatoes to thicken it up if you think it's too thin. Love the out takes, Steven is so funny. 💜🤣😂😇🤗
The navy bean and ham is what my Mom made for us when I was a kid. Thanks for that. She has passed now but not forgotten. I have an easy leftover ham recipe. Ham fettucine alfredo with chipotle sauce. I like to cut the ham like fettucine in long strips. It eats better that way. Taco Bell Chipotle sauce is good and cheap. Lots of parmesan on top.

I love making split pea soup with my leftover Easter ham and ham bone!
You could likely can the soups you made, except don't put the cream or cheese in it, until you go to eat it. Convenience food, ready to eat, canned in your own kitchen, is the way to go! No more throwing out leftovers, or freezing them and throwing them out later, when it gets freezer burned. I've seen stroganoff, pulled BBQ pork, stew, and chicken and gravy, all made and canned for "convenience" eating.

The great thing about those choppers is that everything is the same size so cooking is more even. The first soup and the sliders were my favorites. It's so sweet how Little Miss always gets a shred of cheese.

Although we don't do Easter I always buy a small ham. Canned 6 half pints, used some in split pea soup and have the bone on my crockpot making broth. Pretty good for $6.

We do the ham sliders on hot dog buns or any buns available. Then melt butter, wosthersire, mayo, ranch, mustard, and pickle juice as the sauce. Its amazing
