@@DollarTreeDinnersfor the potato soup, would it work to replace the ham with roast beef? Or is there something that would make roast beef not turn out?
Thank you!! This is perfect. My brother always gets a ham for Thanksgiving and Christmas, but since I host, I am stuck with the leftovers. I don't like ham but I'll eat it when mixed with other things. Thanks for helping me keep the leftover ham from going to waste!!
I made a similar soup recently with frozen cubed potatoes, frozen diced onions, and frozen peas & carrots. I also love thickening soups with potato flakes - great tip.
You completely reminded me to get my ham out of the freezer!!! Something we grew up on is a take of the potato soup. We just called it potato, peas, & ham. All you do is cook your potatos, ham, & peas. Make a bechamel sauce enough to cover more or less however you like say a gravy, salt, pepper. So easy And so so filling. In fact 40 years later we still request it when we get together. I absolutely love your channel and how creative you get!
Love this channel. For my Leftover ham, I made a bunch of ham, egg, and cheese biscuits (freezer); ham, and cheese egg bites (freezer); and bean soup (canned). I love that we utilize leftovers to create something a bit different so we are not necessarily eating the same thing over and over again, and eventually discard.
Great ideas, Rebecca! I had to laugh at you saying ham was your favorite. My mom always told the story that 'ham' was the first word I spoke!! Not, mom, not dad, but HAM!!
Hi Rebecca. I just wanted to let you know that I am very grateful for you and your channel that you have created with Dollar Tree/Dollar General ingredients. Buying the larger mayonnaise jar is cheaper and more cost effective than buying the smaller squeeze bottle. Handy to have on hand for tuna fish sandwiches, macaroni and potatoes salad. Also great for outer coating for baked boneless, skinless chicken breasts, same as you would use a honey mustard or dijon mustard. Just fyi.😊
In many videos she does mention how buying in bulk is cheaper but not always manageable for people on a tight budget. In one video she did reference a USA website advising on weekly and monthly budget. It was eye opening, on there it mentions the price difference between buying for 1,2,3 or 10 people and the percentage of savings when buying in bulk 😊
@@laurafisher6531I was not talking about buying in bulk(that would be more than one, right?!). I can get on sale the large Hellmann's mayo for $2.99(including $1 off ecoupon) vs the tiny(may not be Hellmann's mayo at $tree for $1.25). Just making an observation but also from experience being widowed when our son was 4 years old. I am still that person on a tight budget, 25 years later and on a fixed income. I shop the store sales, ecoupons, flyer coupons, use coupons from manufacturers(so many send coupons by mail). We no longer have a $tree in our town, $general, yes and so many things $tree carries they do too and for $1. We even use mayo for grilled cheese, cause if I have it, but no butter(which is super expensive), hey it works!
Grand slam home run!! I end up scaling back your recipes because I live alone, but you haven’t posted one recipe that I haven’t loved. I never thought about using gravy mix for soup but that's a great idea. I've used brown gravy mix with stews (so good) so I'm going to have to try that with the white gravy mix.
Thanks for always bringing your calm presence and creativity! I'll humbly suggest a video idea: soft and smooth foods for people who have trouble chewing! I recently had dental surgery. Even some soft things like pasta can be uncomfortable to eat. It has made me even more aware of how frustrating it must be for someone who has to eat like this all the time! I'm recovering, but maybe it'd be helpful for others in the future. Just an idea! I'm sure it would be very challenging. I hope your holidays are wonderful. ❄️
Good idea, I’d like a video on that too. My BIL has cancer & has lost his appetite. He’s primarily eating only soft foods or liquids. Need to keep him from losing more weight.
My childhood best friend’s family would make ham fried rice after Christmas and Easter. It was always delicious, and all you need is rice, a bag of mixed frozen veggies, a couple of eggs, and soy sauce and whatever spices you want.
Hey Rebecca!!! Thank you so much for all your ideas! Thank you for thinking about ALL people, but just a few. I'm disabled and on a budget, but I'm able to go to more than 1 store or Dollar Tree. All your ideas help give me ideas of what to make. I shop sales for the most part. But usually I make the same things over and over again. I'm really picky when it comes to food. So seeing things to make that's not in my mind is great. You letting us know we can use something or not and it'll still work helps alot! I won't eat mayo, mustard, tartar sauce, sour cream, any salad dressings, or even ranch just to say a few. So you letting us know we can still make something without those things and it still being good, helps so much!! I hope you have a Merry Christmas, and a safe New Year!! Sending love from Louisville Kentucky 🥰 💙 ❤️ 😍 💕
That egg wash hint is brilliant! Looked like you touched the rack when you put the pasta dish in - hope your fingers didn't get burned. :) Also hope you have a lovely holiday off of the Tubez. I've been inspired by some of your videos for this year's holiday meal (it's scaled down as I'm not traveling this year). I'm planning to do the ham rosettes for my Xmas eve dinner and then Xmas day I'm going to roast a chicken (I think? I have both pesto and salsa to use up in the fridge, so I'm not 100% sure where I'm going with this). Hopefully it'll turn out okay because my kids are bringing a friend. Actually, now that I've written it out, maybe I should do those rosettes for Xmas day - they did look nice and fancy. Guess I'd better go google how much ham one person will eat...
The potato soup looks delicious and so much faster than using fresh potatoes. One shortcut I have done is used the diced frozen potatoes (southern style hash browns/ home fries/whatever the label calls them lol) so I wouldn't have to peel and dice potatoes, but your way is even faster lol
I agree with you, this was a very good food day! I want to try all the recipes, and will hopefully have some leftover ham to use. We love beans so I always make them with the ham bone, but after you mentioned split peas, it made me think I will make them instead of beans. Now I just need to decide what to make first--I think the breakfast biscuits. Merry Christmas, and I will be looking forward to seeing more videos in 2024.
I know it’s been a while, but I’m curious what else you like having Hawaiian bread on hand for. I’ve enjoyed their little rolls for pork sliders but am coming up blank for other ideas.
I love Monte Cristo sandwiches. Your recipe looks so easy. I plan to try it soon. We have a lot of allergies, so I have to cook a great deal from scratch. What I appreciate about your recipes is that they are easily adaptable for scratch cooking without breaking the bank or adding a lot of extra time. I hope you and Michael have a very Merry Christmas!
Yes it is ham for Christmas this year. I always freeze a lot of ham cut differently depending on what I want to use it for later. I love having ham in the freezer.❤
(130) You should try making ham salad. Finely minced ham, mayo or Miracle Whip (whichever is your thing) pickle relish to taste (the mustard-based ones are a good cheat) and that's about it. Butter (or margarine) two slices of bread, slather on the ham then add pretty much whatever else you like (lettuce, tomato, cheese etc.).
Oh wow Rebecca you just gave me a great idea!! I have several pouches of mashed potatoes, and love potato soup; but never thought to put them together. Its also perfect for someone like me who only cooks for 1. I did try your country gravy mix broccoli soup, and that totally blew my mind. It was so simple & delicious!! So I'm gonna try this new version as well. Thank You!! Merry Christmas!! 🎄🎅
I always make ham salad but I use dill pickle relish instead of sweet, it goes really well with the smokey ham flavor. We put it on some good Italian bread rolls with a slice of cheese, lettuce & thin sliced tomato with a side of kettle chips & a pickle spear. One of my favorite lunches! Super easy to make and a nice quick lunch for the days after Christmas where everyone is burnt out 😂 even my kids love it. I’ll definitely be trying some of these recipes too since we always have tons of leftover ham after the holidays. Merry Christmas to you and your family! ❤️🎁🎄
I am the only eater of ham salad in my house. I love it! I will be making a small batch this year, and freezing some ham for a small batch later. I also like dill relish! I hate sweet relish. Plus, we have a Honey Baked ham this year. It's sweet enough.
@@eathomelive I live alone, so I don’t need to worry about pleasing anyone that likes or doesn’t like ham salad. Thanks to both of you for this . I want to try adding dill relish to it next time instead of the usual sweet.
I didn’t even know they made Hawaiian bread loaves! I have only seen the Hawaiian rolls. I will have to look for the bread. And I LOVE soup!! Our whole family does! Thank you for the recipes! Merry Christmas!!
I pulled out some diced leftover Christmas ham from the freezer. I have potatoes, bell peppers and onions. Looking up ideas....😊 I don't have biscuits, but I have crescent rolls. I'm thinking about doing the stuffed biscuit recipes, but using the crescent rolls instead. 🤔 Hmmm
Thank you for all ur videos throughout the year. I got Hawaiian rolls this year, and I had everyone take Hawaiian rolls and ham as they left. That way, they could grab and go with those throughout the week. That meant I didn't have any leftovers this year. It was nice.
Lol My youngest son also hates casserole so I do what you did: call it a bake. He eats them just fine most times that way. It's just the word casserole that throws him off. I'm totally going to make your casserole later this week. It looks really good. Thanks for all of your hard work! -Kryste
Reminds me of how people won't even taste grits if you call them grits but call them white southern style polenta and they not only try them but like them. Add some whipped cream cheese to your grits after cooking, that's so good!
I saw a Rachel Ray Monte Cristo recipe that used mustard and orange jam. It was really good. I used apricot once too. It was all I had because I make a salad dressing with German mustard and apricot jam. Amazing
Rebecca, my mom and I made the pasta bake tonight with some leftover Christmas ham. I cannot have gluten, so we used gluten free rotini instead of egg noodles and gluten free condensed cream of mushroom soup in place of the country gravy packet. Wow, this was really amazing! We both loved it and almost couldn't stop eating it! Thank you for your videos, especially this one, to help us creatively use the tons of ham leftovers!!
Everything looked so good! That ham pasta is on my list, as are the breakfast bombs. I love your videos! I would LOVE to see the broccoli cheese soup and bread bowl video idea. Merry Christmas.
This video comes at the perfect time! Just cooked a ham for dinner the other night, and was needing ideas to use it for before it goes bad, so thank you!! ❤
You're just in time, Ma'am-going to be cooking a big ham tomorrow. I love every one of these and plan on trying them. Very creative. Have a nice holiday and Merry Christmas everyone! 🎄

Rebecca you have out done yourself with these ham recipes, especially the soupie one ! Everything looked fabulous especially the breakfast I love ham I have to be really careful how much I eat because of the salt I have trouble with my blood pressure it can be high for a couple of days then be low it's aggravating for sure. I also want to thank you for all you do on here it's amazing how much care you put into all the meals. some I've seen on here doesn't put much effort into it because of I think it's things from dollar tree and that's a shame . Some really look down on someone having to get groceries at dollar tree or anything for that matter. In this economy they are more having trouble being able to not be hungry anywhere I can find food cheap I love it . I want to Wish You a 🎄Merry Christmas 🎄 i hope you all have a Wonderful Blessed day and everything you want the day to be it is and so much more 💖🙏🕊️🎄🎁💖 P.S. Yes please do a video on doing cheddar broccoli soup and a bread bowl. That would be awesome.💕
I watched your last video on the egg biscuits, which I decided to make for our Christmas morning breakfast. My family will love them. This last fall I canned my own potatoes and I’ll be making that potato soup real soon. I love quick easy meals and your videos are great for that. Going to try the ham, broccoli noodle bake too. Thanks for sharing these great recipes with us! Merry Christmas to you and Michael 🎄
love this!! both me & my 5yr old's fave meat is also ham! she LOVES your ham flowers😍 can I just ask if in the new year can you make a video showing all your kitchen tools (what it is, where you got it, brand, tips) like pots, pans ect.
What a smart video, and I appreciate your take on the stuffed breakfast sandwich which I find easier to fill, unlike me I roll the same dough out and fill mine which is not easy. Happy Holidays to you and your family.
Wow- that potato soup recipe is genius. I use the diced and canned potatoes in my black bean soup, but never thought about making just plain potato soup with them! Also, you can dice up leftover ham and use it to add to things like canned split pea soup - with needs a bit more in it. Or just add the diced pieces to a can of butter beans, hominy or - as I'm going to do for New Years - black eye peas (a traditional NY day dinner from my childhood).
I made two batches of the ham and cheese biscuits and a monte-cristo sandwich. The biscuits will come in handy in the morning before I go to work. Thank you for bringing these useful recipes to people. Happy New Year.
Thank you so much Rebecca for showing us all of your wonderful tips! I am excited to try these after Christmas! Wishing you and your family a very, Merry Christmas!
Remember even some scraps and if your ham had a bone in it or a great way to make some good ham stock. I just take whatever I have left and throw it in a Crock-Pot with some water and maybe some root vegetables to give it extra flavor I just let it simmer all day I just let it completely cool and transfer it to freezer bags and freeze it so when I need something later I have it I really enjoy your videos they're so helpful and you're such a sweet person for doing this. Thank you and want to wish you and your family a merry christmas.😅❤

Actually, now that I've written it out, maybe I should do those rosettes for Xmas day - they did look nice and fancy. Guess I'd better go google how much ham one person will eat...
Mashed potato soup is such a simple idea it makes me mad I didn't think of it before!
I use frozen diced potatoes or hash browns instead of canned potatoes. Then add the instant potatoes
I absolutely meant to mention substitutes like frozen or dehydrated hash browns too 😅
this was so sweet and I loved it. I also use canned potatoes in my soups. The ending of this video was so heart-felt. thank you 🖤
Great ideas and tips as usual!
I love that Hawaiian bread. I splurge every month for that.
Thank you Rebecca for all of your wonderful tips.
Great ideas! I'm thinking that broccoli, ham sauce would be good in a quiche. Thanks for sharing.
Love love love these videos where you test drive the recipes found on the backs of everyday products.
I like to use the ham to make hash with cabbage, potato, carrots. And I like to make it extra spicy.
Me neither. I've seen the slider rolls & slightly bigger rolls but not the bread. I'm going to have to look for that soon.
Everything looks so yummy. It's great to have recipes for breakfast, lunch and dinner 🙂
All of your recipes go in my menu. Even the breakfast sandwich recipes. All of them have been awesome
That is a FABULOUS idea!
That’s such a great way to distribute leftovers in a practical way! ❤️
Watching on Christmas day, Merry Christmas Rebecca and thank you for your hard work to bring us great content!
Add a can of corn to that ham potato chowder and make it even more delicious.
Thank you Rebecca for channel and your kind spirt 😊. Merry Christmas 🎄
yum! ty for the recipes and inspiration! going to make those monte cristo sandwiches today :) happy new year!~
I saw a Rachel Ray Monte Cristo recipe that used mustard and orange jam. It was really good. I used apricot once too. It was all I had because I make a salad dressing with German mustard and apricot jam. Amazing
Hey just submitted to your channel. One of my favorite things to do is eat! Think I’ve hit the jackpot! God Bless!!!!
Happy holidays to you and yours, Rebecca! I got such a chuckle out of your declaration of love for ham. I feel the same way about turkey 🤣
This video comes at the perfect time! Just cooked a ham for dinner the other night, and was needing ideas to use it for before it goes bad, so thank you!! ❤
Merry Christmas Rebecca thanks for the videos on saving money and eating great
Brilliant using the sweet bread for the sandwich!
Merry Xmas and Thank you!❤🎄
You're just in time, Ma'am-going to be cooking a big ham tomorrow. I love every one of these and plan on trying them. Very creative. Have a nice holiday and Merry Christmas everyone! 🎄
Hi Rebecca, I’m a new subscriber, even though I’m an Australian.. I love your ability to make delicious low cost meals. I lived in Michigan for awhile, so I do know of Dollar Tree/Dollar General. Keep up the great work in 2024 and may you have a very Merry Christmas also😊🦘🇦🇺
Rebecca, Michael and all my fellow commentators. All the best for 2024 eat well and hugs Jim
Rebecca you have out done yourself with these ham recipes, especially the soupie one ! That looked s-o-o good before you put it in the pasta, (not that I didn't like the pasta but lately, I'm all about the soup and that soup, looked delicious )It is something I am definitely going to have to make soon. Thank you for all the care and thought you put into your content your share on your channel it is much appreciated. Happy Holidays to you and Michael and have Happy New Year ! 🎅🎁🎀🎀🎁✨✨🥂See ya next year!
I want to Wish You a 🎄Merry Christmas 🎄 i hope you all have a Wonderful Blessed day and everything you want the day to be it is and so much more 💖🙏🕊️🎄🎁💖
You are so hard on yourself but do a lovely job. Happy holidays❤
love this!! both me & my 5yr old's fave meat is also ham! she LOVES your ham flowers😍
can I just ask if in the new year can you make a video showing all your kitchen tools (what it is, where you got it, brand, tips)
like pots, pans ect.
Merry Christmas, & thank you for all the great ideas. I'm having a blast trying easy & new things on a budget. ♥♥♥
thanks for all the great ideas ~ I hope you and Michael have a fantastic Christmas and a Happy Healthy New year ~ see you soon !!! 🎄
Also good adding some celery and carrots. Excellent recipe.
Merry Christmas to you and your family! Thank you for your cooking ideas!!🎄🎄🎄🎅🎅🎅
Wow, these look really great. I am definitely going to try these. Thank you SO much.
Thank you and want to wish you and your family a merry christmas.😅❤
thank you so much for your videos, rebecca. a merry christmas to you and michael. enjoy!
Merry Christmas! ❤️
Chili and vegetable beef soup are the only two soups or stews we ever had when we were growing up. So like you, we were not a soup family. But I have found as an adult that soup is not my first choice for dinner, but when I have it, I’m always very satisfied.
