    Excellent, excellent review. Thank you!
    I have a dark smoke shield which I have been perfectly happy with on my old rf-1200. Just picked up a rf-1400 and need to make a choice on a darker shield. Been looking at the transition or the trusty dark smoke. Never would have thought there would be such a difference ‘looking through’ the shields.

    Matte black helmets pair best with dark smoke visor imo. The glossy black helmets are more versatile with different coloured visors. Again.. That's my opinion.. 😁Nice video btw!

    Is the transition shield worth it as a single all-day use visor? I saw that it doesn't get as dark as the dark smoke, but can you make due with it instead of carrying 2 visors with you?

    • @bikersquest
      @bikersquest  Год назад +1

      In my opinion, yes. I exclusively just use the transitions visor because it's good enough. On colder days I think it actually gets a little darker than the video demonstrates.

      I LOVE the transitions visor on my Bell helmet. Works for every light situation, will always look for a transition visor on any helmet I get.

    • @justinlee9240
      @justinlee9240 Год назад +1

      I use transition all day every day. Haven’t tried the other ones but it adjusts darkness as needed depending on the sunlight. Honestly only time you have issue is riding directly into the sunlight when it’s sunset, but I’m sure you will have issue with all of them regardless on that.

  • @marcin_szatkowski
    @marcin_szatkowski 5 месяцев назад

    Nice! It's a pity there are no polarised options though. I use polarised sunglasses in the car, but they tend to fog, and adjusting them in/out of the tunnels is impossible in the full face helmet :/

    • @bikersquest
      @bikersquest  5 месяцев назад

      I think polarised lenses distort digital dashboards which is why bike manufacturers don't do it

    Thank you for this video! What are your thoughts about which is the darkest model? Gold seems darkest?
    I have the dark smoke but it is not dark enough. On my previous AGV mirror it was very dark. Perfect for summer sun. The Shoei dark smoke is just to light in the summer time so I need something even darker.

    I have been trying to tell if the photochromatic at its darkest gets as dark as the dark smoke. What do you think?

    • @bikersquest
      @bikersquest  Год назад +2

      It's slightly less dark, so there's a trade off but it's only a little. The tint also varies depending on how much UV there is on a day so it's darker on some days than others. In practice though I find it good enough.

    • @bikersquest

      Dark smoke would visually look best, if you want practicality and will ride at night then transitions.

    • @bikersquest

      It's slightly more visible than the dark smoke but I would advise against using it in the dark and carry a clear visor. It's probably just about bearable with street lamps around.

    • @bikersquest

      Most likely dark smoke, the iridium ones are not as dark and you can kinda see through them more but if the sun is bright it might make things harder to see through but dark is probably your best bet.
