Points I forgot to mention: -Handlebars are fairly wide compared to other nakeds (commuter bikes) -Ride by wire throttle is easy and smooth to use (could be a reason why it feels faster than FZ1 as is has two springs and more tension) -You definetly feel like you're sitting on the bike rather than in due to the low tank -Mirrors vibrate a lot at motorway speeds -Side stand is a little awkward t...

3:04 more anticipation is needed I suggest ..this is London..one of the busiest areas in the world. Cars are trying to kill you (not deliberately) so you must ride defensively...same for any congested area around the world.
2:39 This is not the hwy..you must predict that motorists will dive at the slightest space and try to predict their possible action for your own survival.
1:40 the car was ahead and did have his flasher going.. maybe you should have predicted he might pull out, or just give way for your own safety...
I treat slow cars with caution. They can suddenly u turn or turn into a driveway .My rear brakes locked up.. too scared to apply the front as it has previously dumped me in an emergency application ..we missed by 10 cm (4 inches)
The kit doesn't come with endcaps, so you can only use it with Sh23 boxes that have the L shaped caps included, but not the bigger boxes?
@@robertsandiford6223 I think they would work with the bigger boxes despite being advertised for the SH23 I think you need to buy the different ends for the SH36 if they don't come with the set
i really like this bike i was ready to buy it as a second small commuter but the valve check every 5000 klm made me change my mind. Why Suzuki had to do this? My DL650 v strom valves were checked in a garage for first time at 90.000 klm and they said that it was adjusted fine and i should check again at 150.000.
@@christosx13 This engine uses a simpler design to adjust the clearance and honestly it's simple to do after first couple of times I wouldn't worry and it takes a while for it to go out of spec. I actually have a DL650 too and they compliment eachother well
Hi quick question did you have any steering wobble when you let go of your hands with the install w load?
Yes since with 47 and 58L top box there is a wobble around 40MPH then it goes away around 50MPH. If I remove the top box there's no wobble, this is without pannier installed. I haven't tested it with only the panniers though. Also note this is a common thing with this bike.
Ooo gotcha, I have a solid top boxes and get the wobbles soon as I let my hands go. Good to know it’s a common issue. Thanks for the quick reply!
@@MJP_87 Some people say tapered headset bearings (the roller kind not the one with balls) might fix it, but I just live with it now a lot of other bikes do this too with top boxes, when the bearings are worn I'll replace them and see if it indeed stops the wobble
Where did you find the crash bars?
@@mrletter They are the OEM ones made by Suzuki fitted even bought be from the dealer

Thanks for this video. I hope it is similar to XCP due to the fact that we can not get XCP products here in the USA.
The spectra gold is it alright when riding in the dark? Thanks again for the video very helpful 👌
Thanks for showing this.

Great review. Underrated video
Thanks a lot
God bless you sir. I had these same symptoms start at the weekend and now have the potential solution thanks to you.
Glad it helped!
Thank you for this video! What are your thoughts about which is the darkest model? Gold seems darkest? I have the dark smoke but it is not dark enough. On my previous AGV mirror it was very dark. Perfect for summer sun. The Shoei dark smoke is just to light in the summer time so I need something even darker.
@@j0akim123 I think the dark smoke was the darkest of the bunch to be honest, the iridium ones are a touch lighter
@@j0akim123 I think the dark smoke was the darkest of the bunch to be honest, the iridium ones are a touch lighter
@@bikersquest Thank you. That was my fear. I really need a darker one. Maybe its possible to put some tinted film on it then...
Excellent, excellent review. Thank you! I have a dark smoke shield which I have been perfectly happy with on my old rf-1200. Just picked up a rf-1400 and need to make a choice on a darker shield. Been looking at the transition or the trusty dark smoke. Never would have thought there would be such a difference ‘looking through’ the shields.

Do they turn on automatically to the last setting or do you have to press up or down everytime you switch the ignition on so they heat up?
@@richard238 It's a manual switch so if you left it up on the hot setting it will stay in that setting when you turn the bike on. But do note I wired it to a switched relay/power box if you wire it to the battery directly it'll always stay on and drain your battery
@@bikersquest i wanted to do the relay thing i just want it to heat up when the ignition is on so do the switch go:. 1ST POSTION off.. up one for low and up again for high
@@richard238The middle is off up is for low I think and down from the middle is high
Hey man, what pinlock did you use?
Very good review and information. Thanx amigo.
Great review. Lots of work. Thank you!!!
While it's questionable how much magnets help, they certainly don't hurt. They will trap ferrous particulates, (the most damaging kind) that are finer than the filter media will trap. The question is, what percentage are those magnets actually collecting? Many proponents argue, that the magnets at least serve to prolong the life of the filter media, reducing the possibility of bypass, which allows all debris to recirculate through the engine. Not a good thing! If you change oil and filter regularly, this becomes less of a concern.
You got a good ASMR voice.
how do feel about the pro shade now? Im thinking about getting some aftermarket photochromic visor my arai but I do like the versatility of the pro shade and I like my visor with the most clarity I could get.
It's okay, it can cause some buffeting depending on your bikes windscreen setup in certain positions and if it gets dirty from a previous ride in rain etc you may have to clean it unlike internal visors, but on the plus side it doesn't fog up. Ultimately a photochromic visor is nicer but I don't know if the aftermarket ones are correctly safety tested so don't trust them.
Quick question what size is your topbox as looking to get one but don't want small one yours looks just right.
It's a Givi B47 Blade 47 litres although currently I'm using a Givi trekker 58, will post a video about it in a week or so
@bikersquest Thanks, im looking but some look too small 25 litres, your 47 litre box wouldn't of thought was that big, thanks for replying I'll look forward to next video..
I got dark smoke and I'm really happy with it.
thanks for uploading this helped alot
When you made these adjustments, has it made a difference to the ride?
Yep, the clutch bite is more consistent not super far out and the wheel actually stops with the engine running on the centre stand when warm (not that this matters that much but before the adjustment it would spin still).
That’s a great video thank you for sharing it with us. Can I ask you though? What was the reason for the clutch adjustment? Thanks.
The biting point may feel off as in it engages right att the and of the movement + a really floppy lever, Suzuki recommends doing this adjustment every 3000 miles I believe
@@bikersquest Would it not be possible to adjust the clutch at the lever only? Do you have to do it from the engine side when you cannot do it from the lever anymore? Sorry, I'm new to this.
My 2019 V-Strom gear shifting becomes difficult after 15 minutes of riding. Do you think I need to do this adjustment? It's almost 8000 Miles
@@ukgardener973 Definitely worth adjusting on your Strom if it's mentioned in the manual clutch adjustment section, it will likely fix that issued you mentioned. You can't fix it from the lever side. One other indicator I had was after the bike was warmed up on the centre stand in 1st gear the rear wheel would still spin with the clutch in but wouldn't after the adjustment
@@bikersquest That's exactly what happens on my Strom, the bike spins in all gears even with the clutch pressed.
Great video man! I have a question, do you know the difference between spectra gold and hi def Yellow?
Amazing video. Thank you so much for taking the effort to inform us and sharing your experiences with us!
Pull it all out as one unit heaps easier
Nice! It's a pity there are no polarised options though. I use polarised sunglasses in the car, but they tend to fog, and adjusting them in/out of the tunnels is impossible in the full face helmet :/
I think polarised lenses distort digital dashboards which is why bike manufacturers don't do it
Hello, please what kind of communication were you using on this helmet? Thank you
Sena 20s and use maxto M3 and others it's easy to fit most
thx! cheers@@bikersquest
I'm thinking on the gold one. What is your favourite?
The transitions, as it's fit and forget but the tint colour for the gold was my favourite of the group
It's actually very beneficial, keeps paper from clogging to fast so oil can flow easier it's a good backup
Thank you bro !🙏🏾
I have the silver mirrored visor but I like the Blue mirrored best.
That was usefull. Thank you for sharing.
Extremely informative. Thanks for making this video.
Glad you found it helpful!
good tips bro
Super helpful thank you sir!
Newsflash. Modern ICEs use aluminum, copper, nickel and otter NON ferrous matrioska mostly. Tte amount of iron that tte oil touches is minimal.
I reckon the paper oil filter would've caught the ferrous particles really but as you saw in the video, there is still some magnetic material to be caught. I guess it doesn't hurt.
The cylinder walls and piston rings are ferrous, and they're what shed the most particulate matter. The cam shaft and lifters are also ferrous, and those components are the most susceptible to wear caused by fine particulate matter. Magnets can trap particles that would otherwise pass through a typical filter media.
Nice one. I have put some of my Oil pan underneath close to oil drain bolt. those stuff works awesome.
Looks good.
How long did it take to arrive, those rear racks not cheap for the bike. Have you changed front sprocket ?
Took about 2 weeks I think, not cheap indeed but seem about the same quality you get from Shad/Givi racks to be fair. I kept the stock front sprocket size but fit a JT one due to chain wearing out
@bikersquest Have thought about getting same setup as you, panniers and topbox never ordered from Aliexpress, think extra luggage will help on the bike, no need to carry rucksack
@@DannyT636 It's great if you carry a pillion otherwise I'd opt for a topbox+ big bag on the back seat
@bikersquest I ride on my own, definitely topbox be handy. Great little bike, done 144 mile round nonstop was ok but buffeting bad since put add on screen lot better
@@DannyT636 Nice, this bike is a really good all rounder really if you don't care much about power, and very reliable
Just bought the black gloss Astro GX for $150 (new/open box) and it’s definitely comfortable and snug. I used my Strada 2 for a few years, tried AGV’s K6 and love them but Arai makes a convincingly comfortable lid 👌
