So fun fact back in like 2009-2010 when I was in my early 20’s I was looking for work from home jobs and one that was really popular was essentially catfishing for this website and other dating sites to keep men interested in continuing to pay for the service. I applied and was interviewed but then morality set in and I didn’t go any further. So it wasn’t all bots, there were real women being paid a small fee to talk to men.
I feel like there is some hunger for attention Sam has. Because i think in one of the episodes he mentioned he stopped cheating around the time he got RUclips attention. It sounds like he wants validation from outside his marriage (from ai girlies on AM or subcribers) even right now chasing platform on the Netflix documentary. Been waiting for this final episode to comment 💜

Infidelity is not the same for everyone so I deeply encourage all to talk this through with your partners and set the rules for the relationship. Talking to AI might not be cheating for me but it might be for my partner, and it's not less valid. Like the famous saying in Spanish goes: en guerra avisada no muere soldado.
I love that you both are not just reviewing the reality shows on Netflix but also the limited series. Love that. Hope you continue to do so because I watch most of them and love to see other people’s thoughts and reactions to the mini documentary series!
So this comment is a little late but I live in the area where the Toronto Police work, the same people who were supposed to investigate the Ashley Madison leak, and to be honest I’m not surprised they didn’t find anything. I know I’m prejudice against cops but to Toronto police force is completely inept and unreliable. They focus primarily on prosecuting homeless people, drug users, and exclusively high profile cases. People talk a lot about how bad the US police are but the ones in Canada are just as bad. Vindictive, unhelpful, and racist through and through.
I'm a heavily tattooed woman who's all about fidelity-it's so funny the assumptions we as humans make. (That might sound random, but I appreciated the mention y'all made)
I think I'd be just as heartbroken to find out my partner was getting thier emotional needs addressed by AI, rather than coming to me & openly communicating thier needs. (But it's more about the secrecy part or honestly, my own self worth issues and insecurities)

Emotional cheating for sure... if you cannot tell your partner about it and you do it secretly behind their backs you know it is wrong to be doing, imo. I do not like that YT husband still comes off as a skeeze to me.
What I'm missing in all of this, is a clear statement regarding STDs - did Sam always use a condom? Did he go down on another woman potentially getting a disease like gonorrhea and infecting Nia?
What a dumpster fire! They tried so hard for the viewers to like the the young Christian couple, borderline manipulative. Just like you, I couldn't. Love your final advice and insights on them. Sam needs clinical help (maybe the wife too), in my opinion. I think this doccie may reactivate the internet trolls and investigators.
Interesting discussion! I do think it's cheating with AI if the person believes that they're speaking to an actual person because the intention is there. If someone goes on a website to talk dirty to AI, knowing it's AI, then that could be cheating depending on the boundaries of your relationship so it is important to discuss what you're comfortable with. However, going on a website designed for cheating on your marriage with the intention to cheat is cheating because you don't know that you're chatting with AI - you think you're making plans with a real person.
I'd be shocked if Sam isn't cheating to this day.

No, it's not cheating.
Because nobody approaches AI as a living thing. So it's like "cheating" with a vibrator. Or having your emotional needs filled by a novel.
Those are good points. I thought about how I felt when completing long compelling RPGs. It was like being in a fulfilling story. Thats an emotional need met by a multimedia experience.
They are trying to rebrand themselves as 'IMMA GOOD CHRISTIAN' no one cares.
