Being really tall myself I can't easily be picked up by most guys I always envied girls who could be carried. Probably related to not having a dad experience when I was young and should have been picked up, carried, etc. So I assumed every girl would like that and of course that's a stupid assumption. I can't recall any other Bachelor/Bachelorette contestant doing what Thomas did where he was so focused on Devin, he actually ignored the lead to pull him aside. That was perplexing honestly.
At this point I think Aaron and Thomas have more of a connection with Devin then they have with Jen. They've both pulled Devin for more one on one chats than they have with Jen. Devin should just give them a rose already.

" ) I'm still liking my other four. Every time I see Marcus on screen I swoon ♥. Devin wants to WIN wouldn't matter who the girl was IMO. Jenn was told to keep Thomas, and give the last rose to him to keep up the boy drama... she isn't attracted to him as far as I can tell.
I do agree that Jenn should've shut pulling her away from the other guys down immediately. Definitely not her job to parent grown men lol but it'll make her own experience worse if the guys think being more aggressive equals more time. Devin is someone I feel like Jenn actually connects with, I just feel like the conversations they have flow, which is nice to see when some other parts she likes can seem a little superficial (at least with what they show). Also I’m not gonna lie I don’t think Jenn minds people taking her away if it’s smooth. She was someone in her season to kinda push what’s comfortable with the other girls. I think she can like that when a guy takes initiative. She was uncomfortable with the car thing but that was a little different. With this whole Devin thing, like yeah taking Jenn away during group time is frustrating but these men need to stop focusing on their frustration. If you see she’s gone during group time go with the group to find her right away. Tell Devin you feel disrespected (and if you want him to respect you and your time you have to do it in a respectful way too), and than move on. They need to understand that they can’t control people so just focus on making your time special with her & if it’s a big issue interrupt his time if you want. I don’t think Devin intended to be rude when taking her first, he was close and he said before he wouldn’t wait in line but would respect their time. It seems he also wanted to get time with her to get a rose and get a jump on other people possibly talking bad about him, cause people are making it clear to him they’re not his fan

I honestly think that Devin is someone who probably gets along with most people in real life but these men are so insecure that they went after him. If you look at everything he did, nothing he did should've set these guys off like that. It was always about Jen and getting time with Jen. But the other guys reactions were ALWAYS about Devin. I really like the way he responded to everything because HE never started anything. By the end of the night, he was definitely more frustrated but rightfully so! It really feels like Aaron and Thomas N are white-knighting the situation, thinking Devin's not right for Jen or trying to put him in his place. Who are they to say any of that? And the worst part is, they don't have ANY SORT OF CONNECTION WITH JEN. I loved the way she handled this and I really don't see Devin as this super obnoxious guy. He took all the jokes about him really well during the roast, his responses to Aaron were as put-together as possible when someone comes at you with SUCH ridiculous allegations about your character, and he completely ate up Thomas in every interaction. He's definitely not perfect, but HE is being bullied and attacked for just showing up!! I personally like someone like Devin for Jen. He can hold his own and he is sooooo about her. She wants a ferocious love and someone with a big personality. There's also something so attractive about a man who just minds his own business. He is treating Jen like she's the only person in this and that's what the lead wants.
Devin being cool under constant attacks is a good point. I dont know if Id give him a protagonist edit but hes not as awful as some of the men coming for him for sure
Hi Ashley and Mitch, I'm a new subscriber and really appreciate your channel and commentary. Sam M is from South Carolina and there IS another Thomas (spelled Tomas) lol. Also the "run and jump" hug is a staple in the Bachelor/Bachelorette. Let's be real here, Jenn likes Devin, and any alone time or shtick a contestant receives/does is ALWAYS orchestrated by production. This happens ALL the time. Every season, some contestants get a little extra that others do not get. I'm 37 and have been watching this show since I was 15. This is a game and it's not about "earning" time, being more deserving, or being "fair." It's also about getting screen time. Exactly, why Aaron pulled that stunt. His book was not real. Aaron's twin brother Noah was on Clare/Taisha's season and was involved in a VERY similar exchange with a book on emotional intelligence. This was a callback and all production. Many contestants, like Aaron, will be their puppets. Though Devin is absolutely obnoxious and clearly doesn't realize that having a target on his back is not a good thing, Jenn doesn't "put her foot down" because he's one of the men she likes the most. From looking at the previews, he will be here for a while. So buckle up!
What's especially hilarious and weird about the callback/situation is Aaron is doing to Devin what was done to Noah. Like dude, how much do you want to get on BIP lol.
@@membriash since it’s only week 2, I wouldn’t put too much stock into anyone, tbh lol I think you two are definitely catching some of the same red flags I am (ex: Sam M). Aaron is clearly there to put on a show and make a name for himself to be in the franchise like his brother. Devin is Devin and he’s a classic “not here to make friends” character and that can rub people the wrong way but I also don’t think he’s doing anything egregious. But I must say, I don’t think Grant and Jeremy are as douchy as they came off as on night one.

I get what you're saying that she should nip bad behaviour in the bud, but my theory is that she's giving them enough rope to hang themselves. She's observing and making notes. She's very smart. You made a mistake with Grant!! He had nothing to do with the car - that was Brian and he's gone. I'm very impressed with Grant. He actually said he admires Devin for having balls. so he's not threatened by him like the others. And he's hot lol. He's a day trader and former pro basketball player.

I can actually agree about the whole "You know someone when you travel with them." or at least live with them for an amount of time. I had a friend who I was really closed to and we travel together with three other friends and let me tell you, we aren't friends anymore with him😂😂 Also, as someone short, if I'm not close with someone and that someone tries to pick me up, I might actually kick them. I went sky diving in college in the 80’s . No fancy tandem… we had a static line and solo! It was an amazing experience. The floating after the chute opened was soooooo peaceful and beautiful…. Until I noticed the trees getting closer. Did a two point landing - feet, butt! Then laid there for a few minutes in pain wondering how I was going to tell mom I hurt myself jumped out of a plane! It was fine, I got up and walked it off. Definitely a bucket list experience and glad I did it but not going to do it again 😝. Thanks for the fun show ❤
I really like Marcus. Not only was he probably trained to be cool under pressure he is probably pretty grounded to begin with to have made it through Ranger selection to begin with. With all he’s been through I can’t imagine what he’s thinking of some of the immature fools in the group.
Not sure if you know this (because I haven’t seen if you’ve commented on it, and I didn’t see anyone mention it in the comments), but Aaron is Noah’s twin brother from Tayshia’s season of the bachelorette! In that season, another contestant (Bennett) gave Noah a self help book on “emotional intelligence,” so it feels scripted that his twin brother pulled the same move. I feel like Aaron just wants to get on bachelor in paradise.
Its also not a real book--the one Bennet gave Noah is, but this one is not. The producers clearly had a cover printed up. This is obviously an agreement Aaron has with producers to end up on BIP
Really appreciate experiencing the show with you. Aaron is brother of a Bachelor guy. So he may have gotten way to secure about his position. Thomas as only Asian man had a real chance of getti g to hometowns. He really endangered that. I think he know the show much less than others. I thought Jen dressing him down showed he could listen to her and get her point if view. That was a real interaction. But then he couldn't let it go. (Although traveling from LA to Australia on a plane with Devon sounds awful). Stealing leads away on group dates happen all the time. Jen did it herself. Fir Aaron to be upset is really odd. I cam see Thomas doesn't know how the show really works. (And its annoying, for sure). The ice cream cart will be a classic Bachelor meme. The caption writer is so on point!!! It was a disturbing show. I appreciate two grounded people calling out the crazy. I can't wait to see Jenn kick someone out, too!
Sam M is a sneaky snake. Spencer was going to interrupt Jenn & Devin but Sam M stopped him & said let Thomas N go. I think he knew that he was planning to go off on Devin. Thomas N and Sam M are very buddy/buddy. Sam M then interrupts Thomas N and tells Jenn I trust the process and you and then makes out. It's like he sent Thomas N to create the drama and then swooped in to save Jenn. Then later when Devin is yelling at the group, the camera shows all the men being somber, Sam M is laughing and smirking. Producers are not protecting his edit. There will be more drama from Sam M.
These guys are edited to make them look a certain kind of way and I wish that instead of saying u hate them maybe say u hate the way they are acting being impeccable with ur words is kinda of important 🥹in my opinion 🤪
I think I tend to carefully say I hate behavior and slipped up on this go. Maybe its a combination of the obnoxious edit and its easier for me to say that I hate men (especially white men)given their demographic predisposition to all the isms and controlling or harmful behavior. Usually Ill come back and tone it down at the beginning of next episode and Ill try to reserve my hatred for behaviors not people. Its not just you saying that, its what I try to live by. Thank you

Mostly is feels like it's a "competition" more than a show trying to find the best match? Idk, I feel like Jenn is feeding into the drama and allowing it because she did the same with Joey and had no qualms about taking extra time even in front of the other women. So I'm not really vibing with her or the men that got the most screen time. I do like Marcus and Jonathon. I like Thomas, but he did really mess up. I hope he can re-focus on why he's really there. I also imagine he's feeling extra pressure given that he's the only Asian-American guy on the season and Jenn's the first Asian-American lead.
Does the funky stinky food mess with your Crohn's, Ashley? I've only had it for 2 years and have been reluctant to try things. The funkiest thing I have is putting horseradish paste in my shrimp dip. Two things that are 😳😳😳 are curry and a Popeye's chicken sandwich, which was DELICIOUS!
It honestly depends - if Im in a flare it can feel like no food is safe, but Ive been on 6-mp and Remicade for a while now and have lots of good days where I can eat almost anything. I think now the main things I have to stay away from are popcorn, seeds, quinoa, and broccoli/brussel sprouts because they never agree with me. But give me alllll the horseradish, garlic, and blue cheese any day haha.

Well, I was pretty traumatized at my first wedding, when my ex-husband picked me up and hurt his back. Our whole honeymoon was ruined, he cried a lot and took pain killers, telling me over and over how it was my fault. 😅 I'm happily divorced now and with a man who is strong and caring. But I block every attempt to pick me up because I don't want to feed him pills and feel guilty afterwards. 😂 He would love to, though. I think it's a romantic fantasy for men to pick up their wifes.
OR he perceives racism easily in a very emotionally triggering situation, I know men of color are triggered by competing with white men for their same race girl, there’s a touch of misogyny in that trigger but it’s there and I understand it’s validity

I believe that Devin could’ve done something that’s just normal selfish and it could trigger that open sore if Thomas has not done the work to believe in himself in spite of racist narratives about Asian men.

Does the funky stinky food mess with your Crohn's, Ashley? I've only had it for 2 years and have been reluctant to try things. The funkiest thing I have is putting horseradish paste in my shrimp dip. Two things that are 😳😳😳 are curry and a Popeye's chicken sandwich, which was DELICIOUS!
It honestly depends - if Im in a flare it can feel like no food is safe, but Ive been on 6-mp and Remicade for a while now and have lots of good days where I can eat almost anything. I think now the main things I have to stay away from are popcorn, seeds, quinoa, and broccoli/brussel sprouts because they never agree with me. But give me alllll the horseradish, garlic, and blue cheese any day haha.
@@membriash I take 6mp & stelara....no side effects. First had IV infusions of Remicade but had major skin issues. Glad it's working for you! Which is why I don't scour the internet, we are all different. 🙂
Well, I was pretty traumatized at my first wedding, when my ex-husband picked me up and hurt his back. Our whole honeymoon was ruined, he cried a lot and took pain killers, telling me over and over how it was my fault. 😅 I'm happily divorced now and with a man who is strong and caring. But I block every attempt to pick me up because I don't want to feed him pills and feel guilty afterwards. 😂 He would love to, though. I think it's a romantic fantasy for men to pick up their wifes.

OR he perceives racism easily in a very emotionally triggering situation, I know men of color are triggered by competing with white men for their same race girl, there’s a touch of misogyny in that trigger but it’s there and I understand it’s validity

@@pearlosibu reread my comment, I said it’s triggering for men of color to pursuit women of their same race alongside white men, ie an Asian man is triggered pursuing an Asian women among a bunch of white dudes, in Thomas’ case he’s one of like 2 other Asian guys, it’s also super reflected in society how Asian women only like white guys therefore it’s a sore spot. I believe that Devin could’ve done something that’s just normal selfish and it could trigger that open sore if Thomas has not done the work to believe in himself in spite of racist narratives about Asian men.
