I have to say Rammstein has allowed me to experience the richness of the German tongue...it is so expressive and powerful...love just listening to it.
The song, "Ohne Dich," was made after the Mutter Album (when they almost broke up).
Rammstein is like a democracy. Every member is heard, and all must agree before anything gets passed.. When they began having problems, they decided to go to counseling both as individuals and as a group.
In an interview, Richard Kruspe(lead guitarist) said that Rammstein is like a marriage but without the sex.
Ohne dich shows unity in the band, and Richard said the most important thing is to stick together. Everything else is irrelevant
The metaphor of carrying a friend on top of the mountain, no matter what, is beautiful. It happened to myself a lot when I had a few hard years, I was carried and enjoy giving back today. Just beautiful how Rammstein put all together here.
Did you see the line "Ohne dich kann ich nicht sein / Mit dir bin ich auch allein" (without you I can't be, with you I'm also alone)? Rammstein lyrics are oftenly not as simple as they appear at a first glance.
Till wrote this song as apology for the quarrel that he caused when he made the video for the song Mutter single-handedly. The other band members were exhausted after the last tour and needed vacations. Till decided not to wait for the others and did it alone. As the band has no leader but decides everything democratically, that led to a serious crisis within the band. So the song is about the band that only exists with all six original members. I'm not sure whether this agreement was made as a result of the crisis or whether this was already agreed in earlier times.
The aluminium plate where Oliver punches in Till's name is the usual kind of tombstone for mountain climbers in regions where it is not possible to bring back a mountaineer that died during the ascent (e. g. in the death zone of Mount Everest).
Most people don‘t realize this point. It‘s relatively obvious to me that this a contradiction, that many people have experienced in their relationships. Sometimes you have the feeling that you can‘t be without the other person(s), but you can‘t be with them either.
On the other hand… who knows what the real meaning is, when it comes to Rammstein 😁

Rammstein almost always write their lyrics with an open interpretation. They also don't explain their lyrics, because everyone has the freedom to read what fits into them. Another reason why the lyrics are cryptic is that all six members grew up in the GDR.
This text can be interpreted, for example, as being about friendship, because the band was in crisis at the time.
It could also be about loneliness.
Or about drug withdrawal and the associated longing for the high.
Many of the lyrics are about love. In ALL its forms, which is hard for many to bear. That's why many people find the band very controversial. I like that they address uncomfortable topics and describe taboos in our western society in the spotlight. What they don't do is judge. They describe grievances.

As a person who speaks German the only thing(s) I can say for the first 30 seconds is:
1: Rammstein is read as if it's Rammshtain
2: Ohne is read like one but not like the 1, just as if ur reading the letters not the word
3: Dich is read like dihh

They meight be a little bit more. In the cut scene, when they are in the tent... one of the band members (Oliver) is stamping something inside a metal plate.... It's a memorial plate. At this point, they already knew, he won't make it and still, they want's to make his wish come true..... and so he is doing... he fought his way back to life by pure will power... or maybe he is already dead and his will power makes him climb...
Rammstein is known for there deep art-songs.... there are many ways to interprete there songs and start a discusion about it what this could meen.
Zeit...with English subtitles...is an absolute must watch!!!

The interpretation I like most, is that this person is drug addicted on cold turkey. So he is longing not for somebody but rather for his next shot:

Rammstein (lit. "ramming stone") = RUM-SHTINE (approx. pronunciation in English, think of Einstein)
They mispronounce Einstein too. Best way : Ramm like rum (the drink) - sh like sh in shit - t normal - ei like eye - n normal.
But there's no use - they listen to Rammlied or Ramm 4, and still pronounce it " Rem - steen"

You should definetely watch the Rammstein video clip of the song "Deutschland". But it is neccessary to inform you a bit about german history before. But there are a few videos (in english language) that explains it to you.
isn't this reaction the best therapy? one second, he doesn't even know what language the song is in and when he/they put another snack into their mouth they suddenly understand all the lyrics and talk about that. offering to give you life advices without even bothering to fake it that they are not lying. lol.
The lyrics are very mysterious, but he goes back into the woods where he left her (dead?). He gets her back but it is worth nothing (beause she is dead?), Birds are quiet and he cannot breathe (because of the smell?). That is a song from a murderer.

Correct me if I am wrong but there’s not much mental health coming from Ramstein
This song was all about the human experience of losing a friend, and not wanting to go on without them. Thus the chorus “without you”
Beside the topic that it's healthy to listen to music that you enjoy (a matter of taste, of course), there are a lot of songs from Rammstein with a deeper meaning. That's not everytime easy to recognize - even for German native language speakers - because Rammstein oftenly uses poetic lyrics that make you think instead of offering simple answers. E.g. Zeit (time) addresses the finiteness of life, Zick Zack (Snip Snap) sets the focus on cosmetic surgery, Angst (fear) is about control by fear. For many other songs, the "message" is less obvious and some are just fun (if you enjoy the music). I'll add links to the three mentioned songs (with English subtitles available):

@@arnonyhm4055 it is healthy to listen to music if the music is at a specific frequency, such as 432 MHz. If the music is uplifting in nature. If the music has positive lyrics and such. Heavy metal, industrial, hardcore and such therefore is not exactly healthy to a persons spirit, or let’s go deeper, to their DNA. This has been scientifically proven. Ramstein is not exactly fitting into a spiritually healthy carigory and I’m not even talking about God or Faith or Church at all. I am talking about their vibe, their energy. Sure, throw in a few uplifting lyrics here and there. Keep it real. Talk about life even. Even play a slower song. It is still trash!

Could you provide a link to these studies that say metal, industrial and the like aren’t good for people to listen to? I think you confused scientific with what’s actually your opinion.
