I wish we could do this in my country. Most places don't allow you to buy or take any of it. Some places have a store where you can buy some of the stuff but the stuff for sale is chosen by staff and often they don't see old computers and parts as worthwhile.

I am sorry you do not have the same opportunity that I do.
I have found that when these older computers get processed and the parts made for sale by "staff" that the staff tend to keep the valuable parts for themselves (like Voodoo cards, etc.)

@@UncleMikeRetro yeah. I can imagine that happening if there are knowledgeable people working there. You made a great set of bargains. One of my favourite finds was a Pentium III 550MHZ. A lady just gave it to me for free.

@@UncleMikeRetro lol. She had listed in freecycle website that she was giving away some old cover CDs and other software so I responded and arranged to collect. When I turned up to collect she asked what I wanted them for. When I said that I am collecting old computer hardware and software she just said she's moving house and had some other stuff she was going to get rid of and asked if I was interested. In the end she have me two bags of software and cover CDs, two floppy drives, two optical drives, one 550mhz PC (without hard drive, but otherwise complete) and a stack of computer magazines from late 80s and early 90s.

Super job on the old magazines and cover CDs. Those are pretty rare nowadays!

1st :) Visited a client yesterday and we scraped between 10-15 old pc's most of them Core 2 duo's, and about 15 500GB+ hd's. I hope someone has fun with them.

I did a large haul of old computers that were going to the scrap in May. I took a lot of Pentium 4 systems a few older Pentium and Pentium 3 laptops. I'm still filming the video of the entire haul. I helped scrap the rest of the systems I love saving older systems.
