I haven't popped mine apart to check that out yet, but I am in SDI and this is perfect timing because I'm now in the "detailed disassembly" lab where we disassemble every part. This will allow me to visually check every part, and Taurus has stated that I can order whatever part I may need by using the part number from the "exploded view" in the GX4 instruction Manual (page 32).
Good information 👍 my point of view would probably be Taurus doesn't want to send you a spring because they don't want the liability of you gunsmithing yourself.
I reached out to Taurus today, asked for Technical Support, and explained that I'm currently in school for gunsmithing at SDI and need to do this for class, so they gave me authorization to fix it myself (without voiding the warranty). When I asked about possibly ordering a part, Tiffany said that I could order it if I have the part number from the "exploded view" in the GX4 Instruction Manual.
@@christopherwg4236 she wouldn't comment on that. She just told me to be careful and make sure it's put back together properly if I need to send it in at a later date for anything.
Even though I have checked and rechecked my GX4 and found it to be good. After watching your video, I field stripped mine and checked it out and I can't move my firing pin until the release is depressed. Thanks for the video and keep shooting 😊.
Taurus customer service was great to me. Sent my pistol in for recall, had it back in 2 weeks. Had not fired it yet since. I will shoot it before I decide if I am going to carry it. I have other EDCs a head of it.
I discovered a spring issue with my firing pin block while lubricating before taking to the range after initial purchase Aug of 2022 (I depressed the block manually as I safety inspect all of my firearms before carrying), and it wouldn't return. I reached out to Taurus asking for a replacement spring, told the same thing, and can't provide. They instead asked me if ammunition was causing an issue even though I hadn't fired the weapon and had stated such. I'd even sent them a video. When mine hit the recall, I reached out again asking if this was the issue with the recall, they wouldn't even respond. We'll see when I get it back if that spring was replaced. Update - firearm returned with the service note stating only that it had been serviced with a few rounds of FMJ run through it. Nothing else. Can't duplicate block safety sticking, so I'm inclined to think they replaced the spring)
Taurus has been having recall issues since 1997 and still happening in 2024 with some of their some of their GX4 pistols. Have a recent bought Taurus G3c and tried numerous tries to set it off using just a case with a primer. I dropped it, hit it in the back with a hammer at different angles and even threw it at objects and for distance. It did not fire, unfortunately the firearm now looks like shit.
No biggie bro just a spring you can fix it I’m sure, after watching your previous video I checked mine and it checked out good mine will not release the firing pin unless I push the firing block. I don’t think I have to send mine in.
I have 450rds through it so far since I found the problem 4 days ago. I had about 500 prior. It still works as it should. I am now thinking it’s just lack of quality control in the factory. I would still however, like to get my hands on a replacement spring, unfortunately Taurus does not give these to customers or sell them through third-party vendors. If you were to take your slide apart and the spring goes flying across the room then you can’t find it, you’re screwed
I received my GX4 and the slide would get stuck, and not going to battery by itself. Additionally, I had over a 15 pound trigger… I sent it in to Taurus and they fix the slide issue but the trigger is still over 15 pounds. I will never buy a Taurus again.
I guess you fell off the turnip truck this morning. Even Glock has a list of parts that the will only provide to "Certified Armorers Only". By the way, none of my three GX4s were involved in the recall. After disassembly and inspection all were as designed. Six years and only 23 subscribers?

Taurus is sketchy all around. Sig is an overall good, not great but good company but the p320 is crap and Sig is sketchy protecting it when they need to fess up to it, discontinue it and refund taxpayers for all the military and police contracts so they can buy m&p or other. Military should buy the fn 509
Last Taurus I ever bought , I bought gx4 long slide with barrel and recoil spring as a " complete upper assembly on their website, as pictured/ they just sent me a barebone slide / I emailed them for return address - they purposely give me wrong zip code so I couldn't return the part / later they sent me a false return label with the wrong address / and now I am stuck and they just don't respond / I guess I will have to buy another barrel and for the spring shitty gun /

I have seen a few other people with this issue and One guy put a little bit of glue inside the plunger so the spring can no longer turn sideways

My tx22, g3c and gx4 all have been great. Some people just seem to have more problems in life. 😂
Taurus does not like to send parts.
You couldn't pay me to risk myself or my loved ones with a Taurus.
Yeah, spend 1200 bucks on a Sig that goes off in a holster.
