One of mine was on the recall list. I called Taurus directly. I was on the phone for less than 20 minutes and received my return label by email while still on the phone. I shipped it out that day and had it back in my hands in 21 days. Zero issues with mine before or after.
Thank you for that information I really appreciate it you are saving lives and limbs by letting people know about this I did not know about that recall I went into your Lincoln entered it I'm good I suggest anybody else and pray everybody else will do the same once again thank you for putting that information out!
did the same thing with mine. maybe the striker block gets stuck open on some models? they never did say specficially what made them not drop safe... strange. they also told me "its not a recall, its a safety notice."
I bought a Taurus GX 4 and it’s been back for service 4 times. When I fire the gun with any pressure on the trigger to the left, it causes the gun to NOT re cock. Another words a dead gun. After the 4th time Taurus said there’s nothing wrong with the gun. Which there has always been something wrong with the weapon. Needless to say, it’s a piece of crap and I tossed it in the bottom of the safe never to be used or certainly not carried. I don’t even want to try and sell it to someone because I’m afraid for their safety as well as mine. Bottom line I will NEVER buy a Taurus gun again…
I had the same problem, i stripped it down and sold everything but the metal serialized frame on ebay part by part and made almost 250 for it. I am now rocking a sheild plus and love it!
The only test you have to do is check the firing pin block. Push it a few times to see if it function. In a few guns they put an smaller spring and it gets side ways making the pin block to not fuction correctly in stopping the firing pin when dropped.
True, to confirm it doesn’t fire take the slide off the frame and push the firing pin if it breaches the pin hole then it’s not drop safe, the only way it is drop safe it’s if the pin breaches the firing pin hole by pushing down on the firing pin lock which is the round piece that locks it down.
Folks just take the slide off the frame and push the firing pin if it breaches the firing pin hole then it’s not drop safe, the only time that firing pin should breach it’s when the firing pin block is pushed in,which is the round piece.
Love my gx4, be careful if you check your serial number. I checked mine and it showed up as not affected. I misread the 1 for an i. The website did not kick it back as an invalid number. I wound up calling and yes both of mine were recalled. It only took a few minutes to call, well worth it.
@@chefchris5133 just messing with you. That Recall Azz tho fam. My guy tryed to creat a Negligent Discharge after his was recalled nothing happened. I think their gonna put every serial in the Recall Panicking like it's Sig Sauer P320's all over again. 😂😂😂
This gun sucks! My trigger never reset, and now it goes off when it's dropped. Sent it back to Taurus. Update Taurus sent it back with what looked like a brand new frame, and now it works flawlessly. I put over 200 rounds through it with different ammo, and now I am carrying it daily.
I attempted the same in theory using a dummy round. I'm still not confident enough to EDC my gx4. First check it was not part of recall, 2nd check it was. Sent in and returned but not sure what Taurus did. Hard to trust it, but I want to.
I sent mine in and got it back today. 2 week turnaround from me dropping it off at Fedex to me getting it back today. The only thing I noticed was they replaced the frame.
Make sure you get the pre-paid shipping label from Taurus. You do not need to pay to ship or return ship a recalled GX4. Some people have posted suggested ways of determining and fixing the problems themselves. Understand that you may void any warranties and weaken any liability claims if you attempt and fail to correct mechanical problems associated with a recall.
got one today, won't load any hollow points, every brand hollowI have won't even chamber one, i use the same hollow points worry free in my glock43x, I don't mind using fmj in the gx4, however my slide lock doesn't work... ill lock it back and it will either slam home as soon as I release my thumb off the slide lock, or will lock back and randomly sling home after 5-10 seconds..
The G2C has its positives like restrike capability for dry fire training. But the gx4 is slimer smaller and lighter for concealed carry. I hate the trigger for the g2c
I bought 2 of these late last year because they were HIGHLY liked in RUclips videos and also dirt cheap and had a killer rebate. Bought one for me and one for my girl. Did the recall thing and make NO mistake- Taurus REFUSES to refer to it as a "recall"! It is a "Safety Notice". Whatever lets you sleep better at night Taurus! FINALLY got to shoot them for the first time a couple days ago. I also put the green Viridian laser on mine because it was also very cheap- the girlfriend didn't want one. G/F's gun started messing up first. It would FIRE, EJECT, but not close completely with the next round. The round would feed but the slide got stuck maybe 2mm before fully closed. She was MAD!!! I continued to dial the laser in and finally noticed that my front sight was missing- THIS is a defect that I have heard about. Then MY slide decided to not fully close with a new round. I'm not happy right now!

Taurus should use this video, this gun is awesome

You just simulated throwing it off a mountain lol
Leave nothing to chance 🤣
I totally agree, I'm going to be picking up a gx4 hopefully on Monday if it makes it to my FFL on time.

Yes but are you sure that's all Taurus is doing when it's sent in for recall?

Thank you i was thinking about buyingba gx4.
Put pressure on the trigger to the left as you reset and you get a dead trigger…

I was trying to figure out the MJ reference🤣🤣
@@chefchris5133 naw you good bro 😂😂😂😂😂
Taurus has a website where you can put your serial number in to see if your gun is recalled
Mine was not part of recall, but mine will not reset! Sent it in.

Apart from Sigs that fire themselves randomly. This is a recall regarding fire when dropped.

This Old Man will never trust a Taurus.
Nah you beat the hell off of that gun 😂
Nice video man

Sounds like you got a bad one. Contact taurus or see if the gun store has some sort of return policy. Sorry about that man!
Sierra rounds work for me
Now you can mark it as tested.
Never trust a sig or glock. Bad triggers
G2c is the way to go
I like the slim profile of the GX4 but enjoy the g2c and ty for watching!

Mine is not selective with ammo but perhaps your are. Maybe try a few types and if it keeps choking send it in.
i dropped my gx4 down a 30 foot riverbank while drunk and fishing. didn't go off. slide finish took a beating though. also got very wet.
