      You're very welcome joe. After I get it out to the range I'll have an after action's report. If I get lucky maybe I'll get some live fire video taped. Kind of like proof of life right 😁.

    I got mine back with the same paperwork saying they fired 22 rounds. No explanation as to what they did and it took them 7 weeks to repair it. Mine had a Hogue grip sleeve on it when I sent it in (because they are near impossible to remove) and it came back without it. Mine appears to have a new grip module installed on it, but I am not 100% sure maybe 80% sure it's got a new grip module on it. I called Taurus about the missing grip sleeve and told the lady I talked to that it was missing and she put me on hold for 30 minutes to validate my claim. When she returned she said someone else would contact me by email to replace the grip sleeve. The next day I got a email from a guy at Taurus asking what color the grip sleeve was and to verify my address. I received a new grip sleeve in the mail about 4 days after. All is good with the GX4 now. I have the Toro model with a Holosun HS507K on it. I have since put a Lakeline ported barrel and stainless striker assembly in the gun. I absolutely love the gun. I prefer my GX4 over my P365 and Canik mete mc9 which I also own. In fact I carry the GX4 daily.

      Thank you for watching in the lengthly comment it was very informative. Thank you again for sharing. As long as you're patient the customer service is pretty good. I haven't had a chance to get my back out to the range yet. But I don't see why it won't work 100%.

      I have to send mine in. Did you remove your Holosun before shipping it back?

    Great video, do you happen to know what the serial numbers are for the recall?

    • @Sandhill1988
      @Sandhill1988  7 месяцев назад

      Me personally no. But if you go on the Taurus USA websight they have a page you type your serial number into, it will tell you if your pistol Is affected by the recall. I pasted the link below for you. Thanks for watching and the question. Best of luck. gx4safetynotice.com/

    Thank you for the video!
    I've never sent a firearm in before - and i'm a little bit afraid to do so and worry about it being lost or stolen.
    One question that isn't discussed much: Do they have to ship you back your firearm to an FFL?
    Or do they ship it back directly to you?
    I'm sure its wiser to just sent the thing in - even though they did not give me the printing label they said they would provide.
    Also, I've dropped it a few times, :) it seems safe.

      Your welcome. It's actually no worry. It's all documented so if something goes wrong you can follow the paper trail. I actually expected Taurus to have it for several more weeks. It was a 2 week turn around, quite fast in my opnion. They will send you a repair order and return label... and yes it will be shipped directly back to you adult Signature required. Thanks for watching and commenting.

      Do not just ship it to them, call and get a RO (repair order) they will at that point email you the return shipping label.

    Happened the same thing to me mine when it came back the paperwork doesn't showed what they did to mine i called Taurus and they said the same that replaced the trigger mechanism but i don't believe that all they did was to fired 15 rounds and that's it affortuney i took it to the range and worked fine

      Yes, it seems that this information is somewhat of a mystery top secret of you will. They're just keeping a tight lid on it to try to avoid any potential litigation. At least that would be what one would have to assume.

    Won't buy from Taurus anymore. People have called Taurus asking what needed to be recalled and they were told it's non of your business. I also won't buy from a firearm maker that recommends not carrying a round in the chamber.

      I'm pretty sure that elusiveness was more for legal protection. And I've never heard about them recommending. I can't Remember the round in the chamber thing. If someone made that statement it was also legal shenanigans.

      It's because guns out of a certain batch were bump firing without the trigger being pulled. That's what I recall hearing when they first announced the recall.

      Don't know if your serious... but it's a follow up to my previous video about my returning my GX4 to Taurus for warranty repair because of the safety recall and the fact that I had a trigger safety malfunction. Taurus serviced the pistol and it is 100% now, but was still evasive as to what was actually done to it. Thanks for watching and commenting.

    Well you sent in the GX4 they fixed it and sent it back, what's your problem?? You don't need to know details, load it and forget about it.

    • @Sandhill1988
      @Sandhill1988  9 месяцев назад +2

      Well apparently Taurus is the one with the problem. FYI I'm not the only one, everyone that owns one of these pistols wants to know and is having the same experience. They're being very secretive and evasive, makes you wonder. In the end yea they corrected whatever it was, it just could have been handled better.
