My GX4 was not in the recall but after about a thousand rounds I had an issue with the striker breaking. I had no issue with FedEx. Took the gun in its case to the FedEx store front. They put it in a FedEx box and scanned the shipping label from my phone and shipped it out no problem. I got it back 14 days later, signed for it and tried it out on my Mantis Laser Academy system. It is working great and my experience with Taurus customer service exceeded my expectations. Thanks for the video and keep shooting 👍.

I read somewhere was there was a problem with the spring under the Striker block plunger to where the spring could get out of place and turn sideways so the plunger would stay in the compressed position and not block the Striker like it's supposed to.

Taurus stated that some GX4 pistols may, under certain circumstances, discharge when dropped, but has never stated the cause. I doubt they ever will. The best I've seen on the internet has been nothing more than pure speculation. I own three variants of the GX4 and only one was affected. Only GX4s in a specific serial number range were affected. I believe that only small number of recalled GX4s were actually found to have an issue. Turn around on most I've seen has been between two and three weeks. Mine was 21 days total. Test rounds fired typically ranges between one and two magazines or as little as five rounds. Only five test rounds were fired through mine. I respect that Taurus took the initiative and jumped on the problem as soon as they did.

The firing pin block is the issue one way to test it is push the firing pin forward if it breaches the wall it’s not drop safe now if doesn’t breach that gun is safe.. I did this to mine and it passed the test.

This is what I have heard as well. Mine was not in the recall but I tried it and the firing pin would only come forward when holding the drop safety release down. Have a good one.😊

Pretty sure it was in the trigger, on some guns it would not catch and in that state the gun would be susceptible if dropped to discharge. I don't think it ever happened, but Taurus jumped on it quick and got it fixed

I'm confused as to what the problem is or could be, because Taurus won't tell people what the problem is. I don't think it's a problem with the design or the design of a specific part, because it would likely be every gun and not just a range of them... unless it's a problem they fixed before, but have to recall those that were manufactured before that. I think the problem though is that I've heard people say that they have older and newer GX4's that were part of the recall. They may have updated parts more than once and found out that one of the designs caused a problem, so just the one's that have that part need to be recalled. The problem though is that these parts might be floating around and will be purchased and/or used by people in the future without any knowledge that they could be dangerous. (Which is why I think they should have a moral and legal responsibility to tell us what the problem is).

I'd like to know for sure what all they did to it. I think I'll try to watch some other videos on this matter

I am really bothered that Taurus has not told people what the problem is with these guns. I know it was not ALL GX4's and was only a range of them... but still though, people have the Right to know what is or can be unsafe about their own firearm and also to Choose whether they want any work to be done on it or for any modifications to take place. Taurus does not own these firearms, the customers do... and therefore they have the Right to know what the potential problem is with their firearm and what kind of work will be done to it if they send it in. There's no reason that a gun company (or any company) could ever have a recall and not tell the owners of the product Precisely why. At the very least you'd think that they would have the moral duty to tell people and I really believe that them not doing so is a big strike against the company and their morals/values/ethics as a company. To me it's untrustworthy.

In the Taurus chat room it states that there were several people the first year the gun was introduced and the trigger would not reset or it was spongy And I for a fact can state that it's one of the best triggers on the market, in that state if the gun was dropped it may go off, I don't think it ever did I want anybody but they did the repairs on the recall.

I think they're not telling people because they don't want us trying to do our own repairs
