Just took the Turbo2 out for a short run and some hill repeats. Love the 35 Turbos but these Turbo2 are amazing. I forgot they were on my feet for awhile and that is always a good thing for mr with shoes! Felt light and responsive, not sure if it is just me or not but they feel just a bit firmer in the forefoot and I could not feel that "squish" I could feel in my 3 previous pair of 35 Turbos. Love this version. Hope they last a bit longer than my other pairs.

Hi Ed. I’ve just bought the turbo 2s to rotate with my Next% as I’d like to keep the Nexts for tarmac and use the turbos for the well compacted stone trails. I’ve had one run with the turbos and I’m really impressed with, especially on the stony paths. Many thanks for the video 👌🏻

I have a pair of Adidas solar boost too. That one has a sock heel but with some sort of plastic barriers, two of them, at around 5 and 7 o'clock of the Achilles tendon. I don't get it how Nike can just remove the heel support in their next model and pretend it didn't exist or that it's better to not have one... Can anyone explain the benefit or why/when it works?

After a few runs in the Peg turbo 1 (the previous version) and the ZF FK, I think, I have figured out this. They are like two different cars. The Pegasus is like a comfortable sports car, which can go fast, but cushy at the same time; however, you do need to put in the effort to work it. The ZF is like a Lambo, firm, a bit "rough," but quick when you work it. I think for races, it needs to be the ZF.

I just bought my Turbo 2 shoes and put a total 15 miles in them. The one thing that stood out to me was that the foam didn't feel as spongy as the Turbo 1's. Not sure if with more miles the foam will become just as soft/spongy as the Turbo 1's. The only other thing is that with the Turbo 1 I usually run with thinner socks but with the Turbo 2 I need slightly thicker socks. I have no problem running with the Turbo 2, they definitely feel lighter but I love them both pretty equal.

I do believe they have been experimenting with the react consistency. I don’t think the zoom x portion has changed. Defiantly some nice toe wiggle room in the turbo 2. One of my shoes of 2019.

      Hey there!
Pegasus 36 is a good option for daily training. A solid road shoe that can handle easier paced miles. The peg 35 turbo is a more versatile shoe, you could use if for easier paces but it shines at faster tempo runs. Good for recovery too as it’s foam doesn’t fatigue your legs so much. Hope this helps. Hi Edd, what does the upper feel like compared to the Epic React 1 / 2? My feet are on the narrow side and I love the slightly tight toe box you get with those shoes helped by the woven material which locks down your foot. As a reference, I tried the NB Propel and had to return them as I found the toe box to feel too spacious and sloppy. Your answer will save me the hassle of ordering these and having to return them. Thanks.

    • @EDDBUD
      @EDDBUD  4 года назад

Hey Scott, the upper feel is different on both shoes. The peg 35 turbo is tighter and less spacious in the toebox. The turbo 2 is a slightly more roomy shoe with less overall material on-top of the foot. Quite different to the flyknit on the epic react. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching and stay safe 👍😊🏃🏻‍♂️

This past Saturday, I took delivery of and ran in my new Pegasus Turbo 2's and wanted to make a few comments. First off, I ordered a US 11, the same size I have for the original Turbos. The redesigned collar/heal area of the Turbo 2's are super clean and fresh, however, I felt like it didn't lock my heal down like the originals do. By no means to I have a narrow heal, I'd say it's pretty average.
In regards to length, I feel the Turbo 2's felt a little bigger than my original Turbos, causing me to contact Nike and request a 10.5 US, which are scheduled to arrive tomorrow. I had exactly one thumbnail length from the tip of my big toe to the end of the shoe in the originals and for the Turbo 2's, I'd say there's a full thumbnail length, plus an eighth of an inch or so more in length. This extra length, coupled with the less-than-secure heal cup, caused me to have to tighten the laces of the Turbo 2's more than I usually do for most sneakers I wear. I never had an issue with the original's "racing stripe," but for aesthetics, I was never a fan of it. I'm appreciative that Nike dropped it and I feel the toe box width is perfect in both shoes - This coming from someone who has a medium to semi-wide forefoot.
I took the Turbo 2's for a 6.5 mile run and they felt great. My concern about the heal cup/extra lace tightening weren't an issue and even though the Turbo 2's have the exact midsole as the originals, the Turbo 2 midsole almost felt even more responsive than my originals, which only have about 60 miles on them. I did feel like the Turbo 2's may be a *bit* too long, so I'm excited to try on the 10.5 US.
The new lacing system is much, much better that the FlyWire and I immediately noticed a huge stability difference in the Turbo 2's. When cornering, or running on a roadside slope, I didn't feel as if the shows were going to topple on themselves like I sometimes feel in the original Turbos. I feel the new lacing system locks down my foot without any pressure points/issues.
Breathability in the original isn't great, but it is much approved in the Turbo 2's. The new upper is much more transparent, which evacuates moisture way better than the original Turbo upper and is immediately apparent.
Last, but not least, the color "Electric Green" is probably the coolest color for running sneakers I've ever owned and in only two days, I've received multiple comments on how great they look. I'll report back when I try on the 10.5 US & compare them to the 11US.

Some great insight here, thanks for commenting. Glad you got the right fit after a switch up with Nike.
The lacing system is great isn’t it?

so would you recommend a runner to grab the 1s or the version 2 after your testings?

@@arthur5771 If you're asking my opinion, I'd definitely recommend version 2, but at $180 US, only you can decide if they're worth full price because as Ed mentioned, version 1's can be had at about $110 US.

@eddbud I have over 200 miles in my turbos. I know what u mean about the stability issue. I dont get any pains or anything they are lovely to run in but they are most definitely missing something. And maybe the turbo 2 has what i need but i have never ran in the zoomfly series. And really eager to try the zoomfly 3s. For racing 10k n 5k n tempo stuff.

The peg turbo 2 is defiantly more stable. Though I’m interested to see if it stays that way as the shoe ages.
Do try the zoom fly series. A very different shoe that’s much more rigid. It could be what your looking for. 👍🏼 Thanks for watching! 😊

@@EDDBUD i think the rigidity and sort o snap back is what im looking. And i hear the zoomfly are just that. I find the turbos are a little soft for faster stuff. 5.40 and 5.30 pace material justs feels good but need more snap back. :) no problem lad u have decent content mate

In that case go for the zoom fly. I have the originals and the flyknit. Great shoes for faster paces. I think actually the original is better for snap. The newer ones with react don’t have the same snap. 👍🏼

Another 5k local race in a couple of weeks. Then some serious training for the Salisbury half marathon. Maybe another half in October.
It’s getting a bit hot for 10k efforts! Last night destroyed me! 🥵

Had bought and tried both version. I must say Turbo 2 has a lot more issue other than just fitting or slippage. The tongue is too short and upper mesh is not as comfy as before. The previous version is better though the toe box isn't that roomy.

I found the 2nd version was best for me. But I think I got the sizing spot on. I enjoyed the larger toebox, but found sock selection was very important. I still love my peg 35 turbos. Will get out in them again soon to reminisce. Thanks for watching 👍🏼😊🏃🏻‍♂️

Bought myself a second pair of 35 Turbo now at the same price as Turbo 2. So I chose the original. Mainly because some reviewers complained that the heel support is worse on the new one and I like the heel on turbo 1. I had the original since November. Hopefully it's the right choice but turbo 2 seems like a big upgrade in some regards. I mean it's lighter so that's a plus for some, but not me. The turbo 1 feels more like a shoe in the sense that I'm used to. Turbo 2 feels more modern and cheaper to produce.

The midsole on these shoes is exactly the same.

I got the 2 as well today on sale and honestly I miss the padded heel support from Turbo 1. I have seen some complaints about the stripe in the front cloth on turbo 1 but for me I had issues with the sock on turbo 2, curving onto itself when i push off with my toes. It even makes a sound.
I agree that the lacing system is better on turbo 2.

    • @mattiasbystedt1332
      @mattiasbystedt1332 4 года назад

I also agree that it feels less unwieldy than the turbo 1. I sometimes feel like the foot is wobbling around when I'm running in turbo 1 but I don't get this in turbo 2. It feels more comfortable with the back part slim like on Turbo 2.
      My summary is:
Lacing is sweet, Lip/Lapel is sweet on Turbo two. The fit feels great.
The back sole is better and doesn't wobble.
The toe box is better. So I agree
