Rewatching this and i notice a huge difference in how you present your videos. This one, you sounded so serious like a drill sergeant in the army, strict, no non-sense. The new eddbud is lighter and funnier. I like the new one better. Keep it up and lock up mr sergeant in the barracks, permanently pls hehehehehe
Got mine brand new for 60, womens 12, but I’m 10.5 mens. Fit is great, durable, stable upper, responsive bottom. I actually bought these because I’m on my feet all day and have to move quick as my job is super fast paced. I know I’ll get hate for getting a running shoe not to run in lol. Its a great purchase especially for under 100
So Ed, I am able to get a pair of turbo 2s, tell me how you rate them against the Endorphin Speed and Hyperion Tempo which I have both. I am not a Nike guy but have always fancied the turbo 2.
Turbos are more cushioned than the Hyperion tempo and more generous in the fit. The speed is hard to beat though right now in terms of what you get for the money.
@@EDDBUD yeah the Speed are still my fave running shoes, the Tempos are indeed a bit less cushioned than the Speeds, I guess the Turbo 2 is a closer match to the Speeds then?.
Hey Eddbud! I'm a runner in the USA that's training for my first half and considering doing my first full this fall. I currently run and train in the pegasus 36 and Brooks glycerin. What's your suggestion for your top marathon shoes. I adore my standard pegs and so was considering getting these in the fall but I'm undecided. What's your thoughts?
Thanks for watching! The peg 36 and the Glycerin have more substantial support and cushioning than the turbos. You might find the turbo too flexible and unsupportive as it’s a somewhat hybrid shoe aimed at higher tempo runs. That aside people do use them for half/full marathons with good success. I would recommend testing them out on foot if possible. For long distances it’s vital to have something that won’t aggravate and fits your foot well. People seem to favour the Vaporfly for marathons but they demand a very consistent and neutral running gait. They are narrow in the heel and don’t work for everyone. Hope some of this is helpful.
Great video and review! I love the 35 Turbos. Any issue with the minimalist heel cups in this model. Any irritation or lack of support with no padding?
There’s some padding there, but the real improvement in terms of improving support is the new lacing system. It’s really something. Much better lockdown on top of the foot. Simple but ingenious system.
Greetings Ray and thanks for watching. The vest is a Nike rise 365 but they don’t seem to do that colour anymore. 😔 Very lightweight and ideal for summer. Glad you enjoyed the video. 👍🏼😊
Hello and welcome to the channel. I think the difference comes from the removal of the stripe down the front. It’s hard for me to measure accurately the toe-box height but it defiantly seems a little taller and more flexible. Hope this helps. 👍🏼
Brilliant review. I'll need to wait a week before I receive mine. If you have a moment for a question, is the upper of the Peg Turbo 2 similar to the VF next%? I'd like some sort of comparison before I invest in a wallet burning shoe.
Many thanks Kevin for your positive comments. I can confirm the uppers are very different. The Pegasus turbo 2 has a thin mesh type upper. The weave on the next % is very different to touch. Almost like a plastic rain coat type feel! Its initially quite surprising and bewildering as you wonder how on earth it will work as a running shoe material! 😊
@@EDDBUD Cheers, that's very helpful! I'll still get the next% as my VF 4% has seen too many miles and races. I really appreciate your timely response.
Hey Lucas, I feels the ZF3 is a little long though sizing down would mean the shoe is narrow in the midfoot. Thinner heel gives a much different feel and fit to the shoe than the more substantive peg 35 turbo. Thanks for watching. 👍🏼😊🏃🏻♂️
On my third pair of Turbos. I love this shoe but I am only getting 500K out of them before they go flat. Is this normal? The shoes still look like new but have lost the cushion feel that a newer pair has. I started to notice on first pair and put 700K on them but really noticed how dead they were when I ran my first run in a new pair, like night and day. Now on second pair at 500K I have begun working another pair into my lineup and feel like the pair at 500K are dead as well. For a shoe this pricy I expected at least 800K. Curious what your thoughts are?
In fairness I feel that this shoe is more of shorter term performance shoe. I think the zoom x wears out quickly in terms of its significant early energy return. Within the first 150 miles i think they mellow out and become less bouncy and a little more stable. After that most of the turbos I have seen have significant outsole wear and have been retired. Even between my original pair and the new version I feel some significant difference. I did a video a little while back comparing a new Vaporfly vs one with 150 miles and there was a massive difference. React on the other hand doesn’t change as much. This shoe sparks so much interest. 😊
EDDBUD Expensive for regular training 😕. I will need 10 pair a year if I wanted to keep them fresh. I love the shoe and the Zoom Flys I have are not nearly as nice for long runs. I am not a fan of the regular Pegasus so need to find an everyday trainer that will last a bit longer than these. Good video, keep them coming.
I know what you mean about the zoom fly. Very rigid and tough on ankles. Maybe try the New Balance beacon? Thanks for the positive feedback. Glad your enjoying the videos. 👍🏼
Hey Curtis. Thanks for watching. The peg turbo is great at faster paces, I’m still not sure it’s a good bet for slower work. If your going at decent paces I think it could work as as an everyday shoe for you. The peg 36 though is a faster shoe than its predecessor. A little lighter and the upper a tad thinner. Try the turbo first, that toe box is very roomy. Hope this helps you. 👍🏼
Hi Edd, great video as always...is this sizing similar to the Zoomfly FK? I wore a size 11 US for Zoomfly FK, should i get a same size for this? Thx in advamce.
Much more roomy than the Zoom FK. I would go true to size in this case. Much better fit in this new version than the previous turbo. Glad your enjoying the content! 👍🏼
Run Guru Run Hey there. The next % and the turbo are very different shoes. In terms of the stack height and stability. The turbo is a more traditional type fit with the react part of the midsole giving the shoe a little more stability. The plate in the next% doesn’t feel as propulsive to me as in the 4%. I think using those shoes takes some getting used to. I’ve used them for over 600 miles and only just feel like I get some significant benefit from the plate but also from the foam. The foam is amazing for recovery. Legs feel far less beaten up. 👍🏼😊🏃🏻♂️
@@EDDBUD wow! 600 miles. Some have told me they deteriorate quite badly by 200/300 miles. Still don't know if i could justify the £240..... maybe i need to raid a bank! lol
Not across 1 pair! I have 160 on one pair but they still look great. The others have various numbers of miles. I have about 240 miles into my Zoom fly flyknit which have the plate. Superb shoes. 👍🏼😊🏃🏻♂️
I have a version 1 of turbo. The heel is likely lower than the toes, do you understand what I mean? Does nike fix this in this version 2? Thank you for video
Hey, glad you liked the video. The outsole and midsole are the same as the version 1. The heel cup and area around the achilles are very different. Hope this helps. 😊
I think I understand now I have read your comment again. The shoe does curve up a little at the toes. Over time in the turbo v1 I found this to be more prominent. Only time will tell if this is the case for the v2. 👍🏼
Couple of questions: 1. Does the foam still crease like the first gen turbos? 2. Does the thin tongue/heel cause any discomfort? 3. Is Zoom X foam more stable than React? Great video!
Thanks MG! Glad your enjoying the videos! 😊 I have just been out for another 7 miles and can answer your questions. 1. After 16 miles I can confirm the same creasing on the outer side rear are of the shoe. 2. Tongue is amazing! No discomfort. No issues with the heel. In my opinion more stable than the original turbo. 3. Zoom x is more flexible. React more dense. I’m loving these shoes up to now. More nimble than the originals.
I don't understand why the sole is coming out in the back like that. I find the look kitch. At this point they can make the sole longer even in the front... like a boat...
It’s a costly shoe for sure. I was lucky to have some discount to up. Also I’m increasing mileage at present, aiming for a marathon in 2020. It’s a super shoe in terms of fit and a big improvement on the first version in my opinion.
Trolln Yall next % is a definite buy for me regardless bc of the best technology in running. But for the peg turbo 2, definitely an esthetic shoe and the sole will rip just like the 1st versions🤷🏽♂️
I noticed that you were heelstriking and your foot was landing outside the middle of your body. This could be causing you pain during your run or eventually lead to injury.
Thanks for commenting. I appreciate your concern but I’m injury free for a considerable time and probably do slip into heel striking occasionally at lower pace when fatigued. See reference Larsen et al. 2012. Typically I strike more around the mid foot. Most people when sprinting get up onto their toes or forefoot. 👍🏼
I think it’s a good shoe if your feeling up for it. When not quite 100% it can feel a bit like it works against you. This new version is a little different though. Feels a little more invisible on foot. They are pricey that cannot be denied.
@@EDDBUD I'm thinking of getting the Streak 6 really cheap for 5 and 10km racing.....im not the lightest guy...91kg....but then again I tried my bostons for a 2km warm up after not really using them much...zoom fly fkyknit etc...and decided never to use again...so fuckin hard in forefoot and not enough cushioning....if only they put more boost in forefoot it would be great. Adidas r just clueless. I see they now releasing more boost models for casual city running as they put it. In reality they market for casualware...they look great
Yes I think they are having to up their game a little to get back towards the Nike’s of the world. I started out in boost type shoes and they didn’t agree with my knees! 😂 The streak series intrigues me. Hard to test out or get hold of locally though. ☹️
