Turbo 2 After 100 Miles
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 7 сен 2024
- After 100 miles in the Turbo 2, I am happy to declare that all the sizing issues of the Turbo 1 are resolved. The upper material is more flexible an the toe box isn't shallow anymore. And while it does seem like the changes to the upper have effected the overall ride of the shoe (even if the midsole and outsole are technically enchanged), what we have in the Turbo 2 is a nimble and lightweight shoe that can serve a variety of purposes from easy runs to hard long runs. Although, for me, I do think that this shoe is best suited for short, fast runs.
disclosures: this is a pair of shoes that I purchased with my own money. No one is paying me to make this video or to wear these shoes. No one knows I am making this video, and no one will have any chance to preview my footage or thoughts prior to the video releasing on youtube.
additional disclosure: I am currently training with Nike in preparation for the Chicago Marathon. They have provided me with a coach, shoes (not Turbo 2), and Nike running gear.

I’ve done 650km plus’s in mine and honestly they feel and look brand new still it’s incredible
Spot on buddy. 👍🏼
Lots of improvements between this version and the previous iteration.
I agree the tongue is certainly not a standard appearance though it does the trick.
I’m finding the outsole is holding up better than last years model too. I think you and I have been hitting similar paces and use of the shoe too.
No issue on the heel for me. Looks fab apart from some local dirt over the upper. 😊
It seems counterintuitive that the rubber would wear differently, but the results are what the results are
kofuzi Maybe a different formulation?! It’s weird for sure. I remember you though the peg 35 outsole rubber and peg 35 shield wore a little differently. Could be they switched things up. Either way a good sign. 👍🏼
I personally think that my turbos separated due to the way I took them off. I was using one foot to take the other off, consequently pushing on the heel.
I had that habit too 😭
I used to do the same thing, but now I untie properly first
...that’s a no no
When I bought the Turbos that was the first thing the guy at the Nike flagship store said to me, when I took them off. Do not use one foot to push the heel of the other down.
this, mine was slightly separated on one side out the box, probably because of the way the previous guy tried the shoes. but no further separation issues.
I’ve had 3 pairs for turbos now (1 first gen and 2 of the turbo 2s) and they are by far my favorite trainer I’ve ever tried
I haven't had any problems with the turbo 2 and I've run in a hurricane with them. I'm on about 600 miles in these. I ran states in them and even my track races this year. These are the greatest shoes in my opinion.
Love this shoe, cushioned and nimble.
it was the "same" midsole as last year, but i seem to enjoy this one much more
I just bought another pair of Turbo 2. I love this shoe so much. Lightweight and soft
Nice
Turbo 1 or turbo 2? Which one should I buy? Same price tag
@@Check4040 Turbo 2 because it's newer. Older stock TPU foam seems to be hydrolized if it's not stored well (and dry) and you don't know how each store stock their shoes.
I’ve been getting heel slippage. I”ve only logged about 20 miles (2 runs). I thought about returning but figured I would give them a shot. Personally, I like the Turbo 1 better. I bought 2 of them because I liked the shoe so much. Peg Turbo 2 is lighter but I do have heal slippage. Second time around I did not notice it as badly but I wouldn’t buy a second pair. Anyone who is considering this shoe, should look at the Hoka Carbon X.Amazing is all I have to say. I have 17 shoes in rotation between NB, Nike , Sketchers, Hoka, Altra and Newton and the Hoka Carbon X is my personal favorite. I know it’s heavier than most would like but you don’t feel the weight. That shoe moves you forward and makes you feel good at the same time..
Ryan Stark returned mine because of heel slipping. Ended getting the ultraboost 19. Couldn’t been happier
that's a lot of shoes
i suspect that if you love the UB 19 as an alternative to the Turbo 2, then heel slippage wasn't the main issue for you
kofuzi no actually it was the Main issue. It was so bad I couldn’t run in them. The ub 19 had zero issues. Check out RUclips channel “mysqueakers”. Had the same problem. And apparently you do have heel slipping too. You can clearly see the heel moving in your video.
@@varcity23 my point is that the turbo 2 and the ub19 are such different shoes.
i think that even if you had no heel slippage, you still wouldn't have liked them.
I had a separation issue with my first pair of Turbos but I noticed exactly when it happened and it was when I was taking them off. After long runs I’m just too tired to take the time to untie my shoes when taking them off so I take the front of one shoe and place it at the heel of the other to hold it in place while I lift my foot out of the show. Of course turbos have that extra pointy foam at the heel which separates while I was attempting to take off my shoe, the lazy way. I never did that again with other turbos. I always unlace now and have not had the problem since.
Really tempted by these but enjoying the Ride ISO 2 that I don’t need more shoes now! Great review. By the way, thanks so much for your donation to the Wyoming Breast Cancer Initiative. The Pink Ribbon Run was a big success this weekend.
I'm glad to hear it went well!
I had turbo ones and i had the separation issue. However, I put around 120 miles on them every month for around 4 months. Also, I took them to rough trails and they have been waterlogged and cakes with mud. Under these conditions I can't blame the shoe for having this issue because they are mainly street shoes. However, even with the separation, I felt no difference while running or on race day. I just ran my first few runs on the turbo 2 and they truly are an upgrade to the 1s and i highly recommend them if you can get them for sale. I do miss the stripe though because it looked cool.
I've done 650kms on this shoe and I got the separation issue you talked about. It tore off from the middle. But it's been a great shoe so far. If not for the tear, I feel like I could have done another 200-300km maybe
Kofuzi uploads: I like then watch. In that order.
Edit: wow that was a lot of bugs in the intro.
i appreciate the vote of confidence.
as for the bugs, i didn't notice them while running. but when i went back and looked at the footage, it freaked me out!
David Smith Just pointing out the like before the watch
and than order
I’ve experienced the separation in my turbo 2s. After like 100 miles it started to separate
Nike honors full retail vouchers on defective products up to 2 years..That's a $180 voucher
I’ve owned 4 different colorways of the turbo. Never had the foam issue.
thanks for the feedback
Do you recommend TTS or .5 up for wide footer? Will be used for running not casual wear.
you all probably dont give a damn but does anybody know a tool to get back into an Instagram account..?
I was stupid lost the login password. I appreciate any tricks you can give me.
@Edward Bronson Instablaster =)
@Harlem Devon I really appreciate your reply. I found the site through google and im trying it out atm.
Takes quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Love the turbo 2 so much, I bought another pair, just because it's such a great coasting stride shoe.
Floats like butterfly. Stings like bee.
Help, Pegasus 36, 37, infinity react, or Pegasus turbo 2??
Michael, that s a fabulous intro!
You outdid yourself this time around. It s inspiring ... like so many other videos you make (Insta!).
i know it was a bit longer of an intro than usual, but i had a really great time on that particular run. thanks for watching!
I’ve owned 3 pairs now and my girlfriend has had two. We’ve both had midsole separation. Mine separated between the foams. Hers separated between the upper and zoomx. Happy to share more details on either case
Can you send me photos of you have any via IG?
Got mine today...post evaluation between Fly 3 and Turbo 2. Your review was helpful.🙏
I’ve had my turbo v1 since February and the section where the react and zoomX foam has separated almost completely. Around 150 miles the wear and tear really starts to show, my best guess for why the midsole splits is people stepping on the back of them or rain/water wearing away the “glue” - love your vids keep up the great work
i get mine wet kind of a lot, but i've not see that as an issue.
my theory is that it is due to how people are taking off the shoe. i usually step with my right foot on the heel of the left foot and lift my foot out.
Love your honesty dude. Run hard!
thank you!
Full Disclosure , I Love the Full Disclosure segment in your Videos.
Grabbed the Beacon V2 this week , in a few weeks Turbo 2.
Great Video as always.
i think the disclosures are important.
Totally agree , honesty builds integrity.
Out Running Depression how were the turbo 2s?
Loving these, the one thing I've noticed with the upper is that it's ever so slightly less stable than version 1, probably owing to a little less material and the loss of the Flywire cables. A few of my longer runs in these I've noticed some posterior tibial discomfort afterwards because my ankle has had to work harder in these versus gen 1. Not complaining, it's something I'll need to work on to build strength to use them more effectively. But definitely a finding in them thus far.
i suspect that they got rid of the flywire because of what i suspect would have been frequent complaints of tightness in the toebox and in the midfoot last year. but i think i'm also quite lucky in that i don't seem to require much structure in the construction of an upper for it to feel right for me
@@kofuzi Definitely. There's notably less structure in this year's shoe and it's just enough that it's caused some issues for me. I like running in them enough that it's motivation to shore up those areas so I can continue to use the shoe normally :) I'm back in the Vomero 14 for a bit to help things calm down and finding it's really helped with that, such an underrated trainer in its own right!
best turbo of all
breathable toe box its big enuf
able to use for all sorts for run
nice tongue
no wear in outsole

NEW SUBSCRIBER THXz
Just ordered some of these in BF sales....looking forward to wearing them 👍
i hope you enjoy!
@@kofuzi sir, I've only done two runs in them so far, at an easy pace and and I am not enjoying them.
I thought they'd be a more of a cushioned feel but they feel like pan flat racers. The outsole rubber is very hard and they're just a hard ride. My feet are in some pain. I'm coming from 1200km Pegasus 35s and they feel similar, i.e. dead in the forefoot but with no heel cushioning.
Runner Up are you over weight?
@@BobRoss-wm3lc not massively....I'd been working on my weight from Jan to March, lost 5kg. So was back.to my lightest weight. The same.weight I set me sub22min 5k time at. And then for past 6 weeks I've been dieting again...done same. Still don't get on with them. However, I do feel that as a less than lean runner, they don't suit me...I also blame the reviews and marketing, conflicting. Initially didn't think.rheh were for me, based on marketing- but a lot of reviews suggested I could get in with them.
I get on well with Pegasus so figured this would be a good choice but actually no... The Pegasus 37 excites me though..this may be what I need 👌
My daughter and I both run in the original Turbos. She runs cross country and wears these for her daily trainer. She has went through 2 pairs now and both of them have separated at the seam of the 2 foams. I have experienced the same on my Turbos also.
do you have any photos you can share via IG by any chance?
kofuzi I sent them.
Looks like the NB Beacons and the Peg Turbo 2s passed the 100 miles test in your closet. Great choices! Curious to see which one of these 2 will last longer. Good luck on your training!
if i were to guess, it would be the beacon 2. it just seems like it will be more durable
My turbo 1 got the separated while I was in a hurry to close a door behind me and it closed and snatched the Aladdin's heel ...oh well.
But the left shoe also stated separate but only close to 400 Km .
This Pegasus Turbo line is more resilient then it seems !
thanks for sharing your experience. i've been hearing a wide variety of stories in these comments
Kofuzi,
Mine split within a month and a half of getting the shoes. I would be happy to send pics. Super depressing, I stretched my budget to get these and they were essentially toast within 30 miles. I’ve had to keep running in them until the budget is replenished!
Have you tried contacting Nike for a return?
kofuzi, I had no clue they were so generous on returns, after commenting, I chatted them and they accepted a return. Great service and I will definitely be grabbing the latest Turbos.
I like this version slightly better. I had a foam issue on the first pair - late July. I’ve had 5 other pairs. I use them on pretty much all my runs. I agree with you on sizing and upper issues. I like the fact that in the Texas heat the shoe doesn’t retain sweat like the last version and dries quicker. Foam isn’t as stiff either as version 1. I found the foam got stiffer in version 1 after the first pair I got. The shoes I don’t like are the Zoomfly 3. It’s super heavy. Nike really slipped up on this version. Not sure why they thought a heavier shoe would be better.
the reason it looks like there is heel slippage is because it has a top layer of Nike zoom and react at the bottom the zoom is more squishy and the react is more responsive hence the name react so this gives a good mixture of softness and bounciness
I use nike pegasus 37 for daily runs and use pegasus turbo 2 for long distance race.
I did have that separation issue on the version 1 of the Turbo, after just 10 miles. Nike immediately offered me an exchange or refund so no complaints about it, but it certainly kept me away from taking another pair or buying the version 2.
do you have any photos of the issue that you could send on IG?
I had these shoes for 2 days before the sole began to tear apart. Before I got them I knew about the possibility of this happening so whenever I take the shoes off I made sure I do so carefully with my hands. Nevertheless because the way the soles stick out in the back of the shoes, they got caught on the side of the bench when I was standing up one day. In hindsight I personally felt that it was inevitable since there are other situations where the back of the sole can also get caught. I really liked the comfort and streamline feel of this version. I'm just disappointed with the construction of the sole - gluing two bottoms together and making the sole stick out so it be unintentionally exposed for tear.
Sorry to hear that
I had the foam separation issue almost right away. I'm fairly certain it wasn't due to kicking off the shoe with my foot--I had heard the complaints beforehand and was pretty careful there. I will add that it really isn't visible unless you try to pry the layers apart, and the split hasn't traveled very far. Feels and runs great.
thanks for sharing. it's still a baffling situation to me as i haven't personally experienced it. but i've been getting a ton of photos on IG
I’ve ran in these for about 120 miles when the right foam sole began to separate. I tried using shoe-goo to re-attach, but the cushioning hasn’t felt right after my repair. Unfortunately Nike wouldn’t accept a return or exchange because i exceeded my 30-day purchase window. Hope others arent’ facing similar issues.
I've had the separation issue with my Turbo 1s. It happened abouth a couple months in with the shoe. I still wear it around to the stores since the separation is not noticeable but I've yet to run in them since. But I've heard more than a few ppl talk about it. It makes me hesitant to buy the Turbo 2 shields since theyre so expensive.
wow this video has perfect timing! was definitely debating this one vs the zoom fly 3
zoom fly 3 100 mile video should hopefully be up this time next week
@@kofuzi awesome! keep it up

Regarding the separation at the heel where the zoom x and react combine, my girlfriend and I BOTH had this issue. Happy to send pics. We both contacted the shops where we purchased the shoes, provided the info on the label where the shoe size is on the tongue and both shoes were returned and reimbursed by both shops. We were impressed by the service we received.
Note that we each have a number of pairs of shoes each so our turbos weren’t used much and we don’t run our ‘sunny day shoes’ through water like some people we know ;-)
We still have pics of both shoes if you’re curious 😀
Rob Belanger same I returned them and they sent me new ones
and can you let me know, if you remember, at about what mileage you noticed the issue?
Mine were the black ones and had 83.4km (thanks strava) and my girlfriend had the white and pink version and ran less than 150km on them. We didn’t wear them much just to walk around.
Check your IG account for pics
Alex Amparo were the news ones ok?
Great video! I was looking for your feedback, i will definitely get those for 2020 i think :)
There should hopefully be some good discounts by then
i have 4 pairs of turbo 2s. Each pair i’ve had separation in the heel point, however i still went with the same shoe. it’s an amazing shoe just not as durable as i’d like it to be. just got a pair of clifton 8s and eager to try them out
Hey Mike, I've got the seperation on my Turbo 1s at the seam on the heel. I've only had 175 miles on them when I noticed it. Frustrating to say the least. I'll shoot you a photo on IG. I also get the wear on the outer ridge of the sole, which I think is such a weird spot from a striking standpoint.
i'd love to see the pic. thank you
then super glue the heel
My turbo 2 is the same like that. Yhe separation at the seam On the heel
My wife turbos had that happen. It wasn’t right out of the box but it was definitely within the first few weeks of having them. I have a pair that have not had any issues with the foam separating.
do you have any pictures by any chance that you could send to me on IG?
kofuzi sure do. Just sent it.
I ended up returning my Turbo 2s after 35 miles... the lack of a heel “grip” just threw me off.
I wonder why Nike chose not to add something like the Next% or zoom fly 3, where the heel has a small padded area that helps with locking in your foot.
All in all I wanted to love it, because the ZoomX + React feels amazing, but the shows just didn’t love me back.
what did you get instead?
I am on my 4th pair of Turbos and 1st pair of Turbo 2 at 280K on them. I think the Turbo 2 is the best all around shoe I have ever owned. I ran 30K easy in it Saturday and it felt great for the entire run. I also love it for speedwork...I have never had a shoe I could say worked great for both types of running. I think I will pass on the ZoomFly 3 and stick with the Turbo 2's. The only thing I don't really like is the tongue. It is a bit finicky and takes a bit to get it right. At 280K though I am seeing wear on the outsole. The nubs are wore flat in a few spots for me. I have never experienced any separation in the heel.
That’s a lot of Turbo!
Regarding the separation, on the first time I took mine out for a run I wasn't used to how far back the heel protrudes. I took some full metal stairs out of my building with the heel too close the vertical part of the stair. The protruding heel slid down the metal vertical but "caught," not traveling back up the metal smoothly when I went to lift my foot. The foam sole ripped and separated. I sent them back for an exchange and hopefully won't make that mistake again. :|
Glad to hear you were able to exchange
Absolutely epic music
Another great review! Aside from the short tongue, the Pegasus Turbo 2 sounds like a great shoe. Thank you!
i've been enjoying it more than i thought i would
@@kofuzi yup, I can tell. Not donating the shoes after 100 miles is a sure sign you are enjoying it, lol. Will save up and get my own pair. Good luck and enjoy your runs!
I had the turbo 1 and turbo 2. Turbo 1 was 70 miles in and the separation is bad. The turbo 2 is 30 miles in and separation is beginning. Both on my left shoe.
I have run in 4 Turbos with 562kms, 358kms, 69kms & 14kms on them. No foam splitting issues.
thank you for sharing!
I'm surprised Nike hasn't put out a Turbo 3 (and a Gore-Tex version) for 2022.....they hve to know about it's popularity and demand....for those that want a dual foam trainer or "lifestyle shoe"...
This video was made in 2019. Turbo 3 should have come out in like 2020. If they had done a yearly update, we’d be on version 5 by now.
Nice review!Thanks.
thanks for watching tman!
I had this experience. I had about 8 pairs of the original Pegasus turbo because the heel would always split apart. I am a size 14 which may be why but sometimes the shoe would come and the heel would be split and other times it would happen after logging miles. It would also split by the toe as well.
8 pair?!?
I compared all my 2018 Nikes to the 2019 releases collectively. Peg Turbo, Pegasus 35, Nike Zoom Fly flynit vs 2019 Turbo2, Zoomfly 2019, Pegasus 36. I like the 2019 models, but I can't say they are any better than the 2018 releases.
2018 was a pretty impressive year
I had the heel tip tear on both the left and right shoe of the first version. But this was surely caused by an incident in a race in which someone accidentally stepped on my heel. This tore up my left shoe pretty badly, at which point I also checked the seam on the right side and saw a small amount of separation there, which was probably caused by my bad habit of taking of my shoes with my feet without properly untying. At that point I glued them both back together and started taking off the shoes the proper way, and I've had no issues since.
i keep going back and forth as to whether it's a shoe removal issue. but there have been enough people insisting that they were careful in how they took off their shoes to make me doubt my original theory
My heel tab tore off on my turbo 2s after two runs. Each 3 miles each.
They lasted 2 days. Third day I returned them for a full refund.
do you have any photos by any chance that you could send to me on IG?
Something people don't talk about enough is that Nike has a great return policy even for shoes you buy from retailers
They have a great refund policy! 👏🏼
Zachary Rumlow how do you return shoes if you order them online¿¿
@@DiegoLopez-zt3pc www.nike.com/help/a/shoe-warranty
This should help. I've never had a problem with them not accepting a return
Really wish to see your review on zoomfly 3 v turbo 2
my thoughts on the zoom fly are evolving. i'll be spending a lot of time with it this week. stay tuned
@@kofuzi update on turbo vs zoomfly?
On my third pair Peg Turbo 35s; every one of them around mile 250 has had the zoomx foam separate from the react foam in that exact point on the sole. I also see excessive wear on the outside heel of one side. I have a feeling this is only a problem for heel strikers, which I am. I should also note I absolutely love the Peg Turbos so I am not hating on this shoe at all. I’d say as a whole it’s a great shoe but it does have durability issues especially for heel strikers
That's a lot of Turbo miles
My turbo1s had a slight separation between the zoom x and react foams, right out the box. But it is just a small part, less than 1cm in length. But I believe it was probably due to some guy trying them and removing the shoe by stepping on the heel(if you get what I mean, the lazy way to remove shoes)
i mean, that's how i take off all my shoes. and it's never happened to me.
it's baffling. but i think there could be multiple explanations
@@kofuzi yeah never happens to my shoes too, I just take extra care with the turbos as I wanna enjoy them as much as I can
Hey Kofuzi, i just got a "new" pair of turbo 2s from official site. But there was some creasing on the heel mid sole. Also they feel on the firmer side with heel areas feeling decently stiff. Is it possible i have a used/defective piece ? Is it possible for zoomx sole to lose cushioning over time ? ( seems authentic on check so let's count that out for now )
possible, but looking at the outsole would be the best way to tell if it's been used.
it's possible. but my first pair of vaporfly 4% were year old but never used. they seemed fine.
I had some foam separation on my Turbo 2's in the midfoot area after the first run a couple of weeks ago. I put a tiny bit of white foaming gorilla glue in the spot and its been fine ever since.
interesting
My og turbos separated on the heel in between the zoomx and react foam too. Had about 170 miles on them
Do you happen to have any photos?
Victor Lopez will glue solve the problem?
You’re lying, where’s the picture than? 😂
I've done a lot of research and think these are the best all round trainer for durability different run lengths energy rebound but rigid and lasting.
Thanks for sharing!
Am I the only one that thinks 100 miles is a very short amount of mileage for a shoes lifetime? I run high school cross country and distance track and I run about 400 miles a season and have to buy a new pair of shoes every season but I don’t think I would buy 3+ shoes per season.
I had separation issues with my peg 35 turbos. They have about 80 miles on them, but it was not an out of the box issue
do you have pictures that you can send to me on IG by any chance?
Separation only really happens when people step out of your heals or when you clip your heals on things, as it only happened on my first of four pair of turbo 1s
that was my original theory. but i'm thinking that is the cause for only some people.
but in either event, that really isn't something that should be happening
I have 3 pairs of the turbo 1 and I have had separation issues but it doesn’t affect the run at all , at all and I also have je same issue , every pair felt different. My all black ones 500 miles and felt like great long distance shoes and my orange and blue one feel faster and my blue ones well those suck and feel like crap around my foot and feel less explosive . I also have the designer ones you have as well and those I wear out
is your separation issue noticeable at all times, or is it something that only shows up if you like peel back part of the midsole?
kofuzi you can see it as I walk on the black ones a little but retired those at 400 miles and still wear them casually and I probably got an extra 20 -50 miles on random runs
I thought you were using the vaporflys this entire time. This makes sense.
i think a couple people thought the same. some of them even complained because i was using "vaporfly next" for easy/moderate days
I miss the turbo 1 and the racing stripe.
Great work Kofuzi!! Looking forward to the zoom fly 3 after 100 miles vid. Also, what did you think of my album hedgehog dilemma? :)
hopefully early next week
Hey. When running, do you heel strike or land more mid foot to fore foot?
Adrian Stovell in my opinion it’s better to land more on your forefoot because it’s more efficient and more comfortable than heel striking
Foam separation for me after a week defo due to one incident of me holding one shoe down by the heel with the toe of the other to get them off. Glued it back, more careful taking them off, love the shoe. I’m through 330k in them now. Foam compression at outside of midsole on strike point is main issue.
is there foam separation at the strike point?
kofuzi nope, just collapse
V2 doesn't feel right, the heel can't be securely locked and has heel lift issue although already half size down,
V1 never had this issue, I am wondering if lace differently can help
i haven't had the issue personally, but some people have really disliked the heel in this shoe. i don't think it's a lacing issue
I didn't like the heel fit too. Yes, there is heel-lift, there's nothing much behind there to hold the achilles unlike the Pegs which give a nice snug heel fit.
@@livegreatalways yeah. same. took out a lot of material in the heel. have to half size down as well. we'll see how it goes. It's slightly longer than the 36s as well.
I had a pair of the version 1’s that had the separation between the two layers at the heel. I wasn’t a huge fan of the shoe in general and when you combine that with the layers separating, I haven’t been motivated to try the second version just for the shoe to fall apart. Especially at the price point they sell at.
Do you have any pictures that you can send to me on IG by any chance?
I’ll try to remember to send you a photo via IG when I am home tonight.
What video editing apps you’re using Nice quality and like all the reviews keep it up learn a lot on running 👍👍👍

kofuzi I just started running for 2years now and I’m on the Army Ten Miler team fort campbell can u give me advise on what food prep you eat on long distance run, hopefully I can make a vlog on Army Running or training every morning keep up the reviews
i usually don't bring nutrition on a run unless it's longer than 10 or 11 miles. and then i'll bring a gel for about every 5 miles.
racing is a bit different.
My daily trainer is the ASICS Nimbus Lite. Would the Turbo 2 or the Zoom Fly 3 be the better option for me on up tempo days? I do have calf issues
I think it could depend on the calf issue, but I’d suggest the turbo
Got a fake pair for less than $25. Got foot injury to pay for the cheapest. Will get the real thing now...
smort
Do these fit similar to the Zoom Fly 3 (size wise)? Sadly can't try them on cause everything is closed right now, and because I've heard people changing sizes cause of the thin material, I just wanted to make sure.
I went with the same size in eacg
@@kofuzi Awesome! Thanks so much for responding to older videos!
My pair of 35 turbos had the separation issue between the zoom x and react, after a fair amount of miles still loved the shoe🤷♂️
i'm sorry to hear that happened
Mine right pair had also the separation issue but the left was completly ripped
I just received my Turbo 2s yesterday and i noticed the heel is slipping as well. I ordered size 13, which i order in every Nike shoe i purchase. I’m wondering if this is normal or should i return them for a size 12.5? I’ve never had to downsize a Nike running shoe. This is my first pair of Turbo’s. When laced them up tight the shoe will not come off however the heel does not feel as tight has my other Nike running shoes.
Run in them and then decide
Yo Kofuzi! I unfortunately have experienced the sole separating on Peg Turbo 2... After about a month of owning the shoe, sole actually started separating in the front of the shoe. I probably had less than 20 miles on shoe... (I am a track sprinter/jumper). I noticed some glue popping out from the midsole, and next thing my midsole had split.
in the front? that's a first.
can you send me a picture on IG?
Hi K - I had separation issues with the Turbo 1 with very little use. Appreciate this review as I have been wondering about the turbo update. Kind of pricey for a daily trainer.
for a daily trainer yes, but not for a hard workout shoe. and for people who are into the whole miles/buck ratio, you can extend the value by using it also for long easy or long moderate days as well
@@kofuzi - agreed, which is why I bought the first version and will probably continue with #2.
J S did you continue with the turbo 2?
Bob Ross no never went with turbo 2. Tried it on in the store and didn’t like as much as v1.
I just bought some because of your review thank you😎💪👍
I hope you enjoy!
I love the turbo two the only thing that I seem to have an issue with is it almost feels slightly too big I wear a 12 1/2 but it feels like I need a 12 I have a rather wide foot but in almost all of my running shoes I wear a 12 1/2
they did make the shoe roomier than last year, but i haven't heard too many people with wide feet say that it's been too big. interesting.
Wearing a US12 normally, my Turbo2 with 12 feels about 0.5 - 1cm too big
(05 - 1 size). Would have never thought that with Nike, they usually come Kind of small
I had separation issues between the foams of the my Pegasus turbo. The problem was straight out of the box, but made worse through usage (I didn’t send them back initially because the colourway was sold out in my size so i couldn’t re-order them). Eventually I returned them and nikey gave me a full refund.
Do you have pictures by any chance?
kofuzi no sorry :(
I have the sole separation problem with the turbo 1s. On one shoe it is separated from the upper to the zoomx and on the other the react and the zoomx are separated. Doesn’t impact the performance it is only noticeable if you pull it with your hands. I went to only walking in them for the last 6 months and the problem has only gotten worse.
Ben Parkes said in his review that the forefoot in the Turbo 2 is a little firmer than the 35 Turbo, can you confirm that? While I really like the 35 Turbo as a do-it-all shoe, the squishy forefoot does make it a bit inefficient and I certainly feel robbed of energy after about 10 miles into my runs.
I don't know how much you weigh, @kofuzi, but I don't get how you prefer the Pegasus over the Turbos. I find them, i.e. the Pegs, much, much firmer to the point of not being usable as a daily trainer for high mileage. Even Kipchoge runs his "easy" stuff in the Vomeros, and Turbos.
in re turbo 2 vs turbo 1
ruclips.net/video/-4XBn2RWJ98/видео.html
After 60k in my Turbo 2s I can definitely say that - for me - they are not as good as the 35 Turbo (according to Strava 360k. without any issues, one of my fav shoes ever!). I have serious fitting issues because the 2s run a tad longer and are narrower than the 1s (have both in EU45/29cm). The narrower last leads to two major issues with my wider than average feet, not present in the 1s:
*) lateral side of midfoot is hurting after about 1k into a run, when I have to stop and re-lace the shoe looser, it's gone after that. Doesn't help though to lace it loosely right away!
*) Since the T2s run a bit longer, the ball of my foot (widest part of one's feet) is not where the widest part of the shoe is but a bit before that. At this point the last is quite narrow and more raised than the 1s lwhich leads to its digging into that part of my foot where it creates a hotspot that turns into pain after about 6m/10k.
I'm glad I didn't pay full price but got them for -30% from Nike.
That's interesting. Based on your description of your foot, I would have expected an opposite experience for you
@@kofuzi I don't know man, when I put the T1 and T2 sole to sole the T1s are quite a bit wider. So in hindsight it had to be expected. narrower shoe + wide feet = expect complications
Making my first Nike purchase for a daily trainer. I can get these cheaper than the new Pegasus 37. Really debating these for a do all daily trainer. Thoughts?
The Pegasus 37 would be better as a daily trainer. It's more durable and is just as versatile as the Turbo 2.
Max Roberts I heard that the Peg 37 has heel slippage. I’ve been dying to hear Kofuzi’s option on turbo 2 vs peg 37 vs zoom fly 3 as far as an all arounder shoe goes. Based on the fact that he did review all 3 of these shoes, it seems like he’d go turbo 2 first, then peg 37, than zoom fly 3 but I could be wrong.
hello, I enjoy watching your reviews. thanks for making your videos. With that said, can you do a review of skechers maxroad 4 or the speed elite after 100 miles? i currently own the skechers madroad 4 and it's probably the most cushioned shoe i've owned compared to peg turbo 1 or ultraboost. Thanks in advance!
Thanks so much for watching!
Unfortunately, I do not have any current plans to review any Skechers
Can I ask why you’d go for the Pegasus over the turbo as a daily trainer? - another great video!
i like it better at slower paces
Should u go for Adidas boston 8 or pegasus turbo 2? I need a lightweight, durable n comfo ride. Lemme know kofuzi, I just enjoy ur 100 miles review 👏❤️
I really like my turbo 2s
how would this compare the boston 8?
I actually just bought these last Tuesday, so far I love them but I'm about 35 miles in and the foam near the heel is splitting on me already. Its happening right in the middle of the foam where there is those stress marks it gets when its squished. I'm really bummed cause I do really enjoy everything else about the shoe.
Alexander Malik I have the 35 turbos and the same is happening
If it's new, I'd return it. But before you do, can you send me a pic on IG by any chance?
I've had the issue with the foam separating. I've had two pairs. First pair I've worn to death with about 1000km in and they were absolutely fine however the replacement separated at the back (after about 250kms) and the zoom x even almost came clean off and folded it's way between the foams.
also I sent them back to nike like 2 months ago using their shipping label but they have been lost in the post and still have not got anything from them despite chasing them up multiple times.
do you have any photos that you could send me by any chance via IG?
@@kofuzi sure
I’ve purchased three turbos and all three had that separation. I can send pics on insta for proof. I think it happens closer to around 150-200 range though.
i'd love if you can send to me on IG.
why do you keep buying them if that keeps happening to you?
You’re lying, why keep buying them and why wouldn’t you return them.. Lies..
For marathon distance running, would you recommend peg36 or turbo2? Would I be right saying 36 would be the trainer and turbo2 the race say shoe?
Also, I'd be visiting Dallas for couple of weeks in late september. Any website where I can find marathon details at US?
i would google dallas marathon or texas marathon
