you should look into the nike moon racer or the vapor street. they have same full react midsole design (same midsole as vaporfly elite except react) and its really an amazing setup
Watching this at 5am and I had to hold in a loud LOUD laugh when you “bleeped” after saying the price 🤣🤣 kids and wife would have all woken up. Love it! And love your videos!
Enjoyed the review and agree the price can be discouraging to some. However, until the cost of producing Zoom-x goes down, I think its a justified cost for more advanced runners or those that are looking for one shoe to train/race in. I just went over 100 miles in the shoe and while I had some initial concerns with durability they have held up quite well and I run on a mix of surfaces. I will likely be buying more pairs as they release additional colors, because there is also an exclusive element to them that I like.
I was soooo excited when you posted the review of the pegasus turbo! I have the epic react, peg 35, and peg 35 turbo and I love them all. I think the peg 35 is firmer, more durable and a little more responsive than the turbo?? but the turbo is much more plush/comfy than the peg 35. The turbo is more plush than the epic react but not by a whole lot but I also think the react has a little more bounce than the turbo. I don't think the turbo is worth $180. If one had to choose between the three, I think the peg 35 is a better all rounder shoes for running and its cheaper amongst the three.
Been running a week or two now in them, was hoping to use them in my next half marathon. Great training shoes, but I think I will be sticking with the Altra Escalante....that heel is a bit much and the drop as well. One positive is I wish all Nike shoes had the roominess that this one does in the forefoot.
Nike did great job with Lunartempo and LunaRacer... I think these two compete easily and much more soft and responsive as well as light weight ... Did not try the Turbo yet.
Northern Ninja Runner I’ve watched many reviews, a lot of them say it does put some structure, others say its for the ‘racing’ stripe look. I have them and honestly think its just aesthetics because if u squish them you see they have no structure to it. What I’m trying to say is, if you believe it makes you run faster, then you’ll run faster hah
No, it just presses on your toes. Your toes want to hyperextend before they splay as part of the Windlass Mechanism. This is yet another way of messing with a natural mechanism your feet have of dealing with the stresses from running (which protect structures like the plantar fascia). So yeah, it's a shitty gimmick.
Ethan, I'd love it if you did a pinned ranking table for all shoes you've ever reviewed. Or just insert it for 10seconds at the end. With trail and road versions? It'd be good to know what your favourite all time pairs are vs least favourite...
Have had two pair of the Pegasus 35 and the sole has fallen apart on both pairs after a few months of training for a marathon. Super comfortable shoe and love running in them but they just don't last. Have been running on the road, with a little bit of gravel, but sole has fallen apart in both pairs.
Have around 100km in them now split on two pairs. The first broke at the fuse of the midsole in the shark fin after two times 21km runs. I got a new pair because i liked the first and noe I love em. Great for long runs, great for speedy intervals. :) highly recommended now that you can get them cheaper!!
Luckily enough to have some throw away money so I bought this sneaker for my son as a present. We did the Disney Food and Wine challenge as a family. He does know how much it cost and he is an avid NYC/Manhattan runner. He tells me he loves it for the training and loved it in Disney! I am totally with you on the sexy bowling shoe :)
My thoughts on the Turboooooooo ;-) I was a recent convert to Pegasus 35. Love them. They've lasted well and I feel fast in them. I got a pair of Turbos part funded as a Christmas present due to the insane cost! For reference I've run 48Km over 3 runs. I do the rest of my training in the 35's My 2nd toe on my right foot the nail has been rubbing like crazy on the stripe. Obviously it's because the upper doesn't flex in the way that it does on a Peg35! I'm disappointed in the lack of response from the sole. When you first set out, whilst warming up, the sole feels weird. You can feel the 2 materials in the sole almost working against each other. It does go away after 2-3km. But it never feels "alive" in the way other shoes do. Wear is bad already! I weigh 78kg, I midfoot strike, but the hexagonal shapes on the very front are already worn bald. I bought these to break them in, then use them in a marathon in a couple months time. I can't see them lasting, so I've already ordered another pair of 35s Foot lock. In the 35s I feel great, in the Turbos, my feet are constantly falling forward in them. No matter what I do with the laces. The sock liner is the same as the Peg35s, so it's obviously something in the shape of the upper. I feel bad because family have helped on the costs, but I cant see myself doing a marathon in these. But I'm debating relegating them to activities other than running! These just don't work for me. I fear that the Pegasus 36s in due course will share various parts of the Turbo! Thanks for the great videos Ethan btw! My "go to" RUclipsr for reviews! Keep up the good work
Sounds more like a solid "Why"! And the answer to that is because they have some new tech and might as well use it in everything they can to cash in before the newness factor wears out.
Love this shoe, period. Have only about 150km on it so far, but as a regular Zoom Fly and 4% wearer the Turbo feels like slippers in comparison :) I don't suspect the foam is going to last, at all, if it wears like it does in the 4% (there were actually shredded spots on my 4%s after a marathon). Oh and one of Nike's prettiest shoes I think :) Loving your review week!!!!
Most Nike road shoes are 10mm? I think these guys are on sale on Nike's Outlet site now for about $140. There are some discount codes out there, so I think you can get them about $120. I might pick some up, having full decided if I want another pair of NB Beacons.
That Buy / Try rating tho. just reignited my interest in this shoe. I didn't like my Zoom Fly, and i wished i've seen your review before i bought it. 4 days back i went to the shop and tried the Turboww and while the fit and cushion seems to be great, the price did put me off, tho it's abit cheaper than 180 USD here in Hong Kong. Still thinking about it.
This is the fastest shoe I have ever run in. I am not a pro athlete but looking for a marathon time of 3:30 in my next race. I love the combination of cushion, low weight and responsiveness. For me this is a race day-only show so if it holds up to 200 miles I am fine with it as I only use it for the race and not for training. I would never buy it for everyday training but for „normal“ amateur runners this shoe is great for competitions.
So far I am loving these shoes, and I have run in trail shoes almost exclusively for years. These have some element that has allowed me to run without a brace despite my right Achilles injury, so that alone is a big plus. Also, I use them on mellow trails and they are super fun. Criticisms: I agree the heel/toe drop is too much -- I end of heel striking on steep descents. As for price? Yes, crazy but there are Hokas and Sportivas at this price point, not to mention every Salomon S-Lab shoe is $180 retail ....
Stacking up price with every new version each year has become almost an industrial standard... 10 years ago when I started to run it was said running is a sport that would not cost much except for a pair of running shoes.
Ethan, I honestly love this shoe, not a fan of the price, really hurt my college wallet. I bought these as a secondary trainer to what should've been another pair of Pegs (will be the brand new Nike Vomero 14s w/React {!!!!}) and I use it as that, workout day trainer and a long run trainer. I have logged multiple long runs of 18-20 miles in these shoes and the foam combo is on point! My toes have just enough room to splay out and I am usually a very happy camper on long runs because now I can ditch the calf socks. I have very few Nike shoes, first I tried being the zoom streak (since I get all Nike gear for track season) I was okay with them, too firm for me. I use the Vaporfly 4% a lot and love those shoes! Can't wait for the new flyknit 4% and Zoom Fly 2 to come out. The Peg and Peg Turbo, Vaporfly and the React series shoes (don't train in but have tried and liked!) have greatly changed my opinion on Nike as a whole, can't wait to try the new Vomero!
I have run in the Pegasus Turbo, Pegasus 35 & Epic React. IMO the Pegasus Turbo has a better upper than the Pegasus 35 and is easier to change speeds in than the Pegasus 35 or Epic React. For everyday trainer I would go with one of the other two, but the Turbo is the best of the lot for racing.
Can you do and egg drop test on the nike pegasus. I saw a nike commercial were guy drop and egg on the the soles of the shoes and it didn't break and bounce up.
They got heavily discounted at my local Nike Store on Black Friday! It got slashed from USD180 to USD131! I wanted to purchase the Pegasus 35 but at that price, it seems much more worth it! Did I made the right choice to buy the Turbos over the 35?
Need your help... looking for a running shoe equivalent to the ultra boost. I DONT BUY ADIDAS ANY MORE PERIOD! The worst customer service and I’m tired of having my calls routed to some country where they dont speak English! Would you recommend these? The prices have finally come down now that a new model is available. Help a brotha out, sir!
Great review. What I'm really excited for though is the NB Beacon. Pretty please! Feels like it could be in a similar space to the Peg Turbo / Epic React but at $120 it doesnt have that F...........K price.
Man, I am loving these shoes coming from altra escelantes. But that 10 mm drop is not something I’m looking for long term. If only I could get something similar to zoom x in a 5 or 0 drop shoe? Any recommendations?
Is there an easy way to see the reviews in chronological release (i.e. just have them loaded on the site by date?) Really enjoy hearing the thoughts and then comparing to the comments)
I have the Novablast 2 for my neutral running shoe currently, but I have two pairs of these that I dont use as much because I wamt to save them for certain days. The peg 35 turbo is still my favorite. I get discounted prices whenever I see them on ebay or mercari. Hopefully they “retro” these lol. The new one is trash.
Have put 75 miles in in this shoe, and while I like it, i don’t think it lives up to the hype. Love the Pegasus fit but the zoomx sole doesn’t feel nearly as springy and light as the react foam. Sometimes I forget it is even a foam sole at all. Would have actually preferred the Pegasus fit with a full react sole, as I really like running in the epic reacts if it weren’t for the fly knit upper. All in all I think this is a good shoe, but not worth $180 and I agree that it feels like it will wear out quickly.
Everyone talking about price, so i'm just gonna leave this here. 30€ a pair for large numbers on a Nike factory store. Excellent shoe for fast training runs or half-marathons tops.
@@craigbee it means that with some luck and given you wear large shoe sizes you can get this shoe for a very very low price. I just bought my self a pair of Pegasus Turbo and Nike Zoom Fly SP Fast for 30€ each.
Felt wobbly, and like there was a significant mid to forefoot rocker. Almost felt like a pill shaped air bubble that they dropped in the midsole the length of most people's arch...did anyone else feel that? Race like comfortable fit for my foot, actually not too narrow in the forefoot for me and I typically like a wider forefoot.
Leaders aA The best shoe i've ever bought was Hoka tracer and they cost me under 100$ I don't really even look at the hype/new technology stuff. Just same or worse at higher cost.
Pho-beeeeee-kah!!! I don't know why that's so funny to me. Also, please do a review on the New Balance beacon. I know it's a road shoe, but I think it is one you'd like.
can get 300-400 miles out of the pegasus 35s... suppose it makes sense to stick with those even though they have less 'racey' features, but are still lighter/quicker than previous models
Perfect for fall marathon training, especially for tempo work mixed into longer efforts. Run in 95+ degrees and lots of humidity, not experiencing the heat issue. 60+ miles in and when the blue comes out in a week, I'll have as well. I see these lasting 300+ miles easy.
Hey man, looking for a distance training road shoe. 180 lbs, I'm a sweater living in Bama (my runs get wet), and I'm a mid to fore foot striker. I'm ramping up for a marathon. Any strong recs?
Always love the reviews / your style Ethan! And considering I've already picked up a pair of P35T's that are my main runners right now, this was a must watch!
Did I just hear you say that you can only put 160 miles on them??? That’s ridiculous!! I could easily put 500 on any running shoe and do every single time mainly with Nike.
I love how polarizing this shoe is, based on the comments! Keep 'em coming! But it seems everyone agrees - WAY too expensive.
you should look into the nike moon racer or the vapor street. they have same full react midsole design (same midsole as vaporfly elite except react) and its really an amazing setup
Makes my Evo Mafate affordable.
TheGingerRunner I got these at a Nike Outlet Store, amazingly for less than US$100. One of the best shoes I’ve bought in a long time.
You've convinced me. I'm giving up running for donuts
Nearly 300mi into my P35 and still going strong. My go to show, love em
lol I wear my shoes way longer than 200miles!! I wear them till no sole left and dont get injured.
Watching this at 5am and I had to hold in a loud LOUD laugh when you “bleeped” after saying the price 🤣🤣 kids and wife would have all woken up. Love it! And love your videos!

The elfin slipper like point is perfect for Legolas. Elf's live forever and can handle $180.
Paul Hancock unfortunately the shoes won’t last long enough for an immortal 😂
My main motivation for finishing my education is Nike. I need to be able to afford one of those hyped shoes one day.
Managed a six minute pb in the Turbos at Chicago this year, love them. Expensive but still a cheaper hobby than triathlon
Been running a week or two now in them, was hoping to use them in my next half marathon. Great training shoes, but I think I will be sticking with the Altra Escalante....that heel is a bit much and the drop as well. One positive is I wish all Nike shoes had the roominess that this one does in the forefoot.
Escalante for the win, I needed a couple of week to adapt but what a comfortable shoe it is. Well done Altra.
Nike did great job with Lunartempo and LunaRacer... I think these two compete easily and much more soft and responsive as well as light weight ... Did not try the Turbo yet.
You must have a really narrow foot, as these a
Escalantes are now at version 1.5... which makes the original so much cheaper!!
I’m in the same boat as you. Hahaha I do like the midsole of the Nike better but the heel is to much.
got these beautiful shoes for 85€ today, can't wait to try them on my sunday long run ! Thank you for the great review!
And I agree that it is good to see you doing shoe reviews again. We have missed you.
Does the pink stripe make you run faster?
YES. 4%

Your best and funniest review to date. Love it
Nike' should be donating 80% of the sales towards Pink Ribbon, that would be a real statement.
That Buy / Try rating tho. just reignited my interest in this shoe.

I’ve ran in it... it’s super comfortable but I can buy the brooks ghost or another knock down called the rebel and get similar comfort for much less
Just bought these Friday, same color.

Amazing how wildly different reviews are on this shoe...but thanks for lambasting it on price...someone had to.
The price is ridiculous!
I like the shoe. The only thing is that my Achilles area is sore and painful after wearing for a a 9 hour shift.
Your best review yet!
3:43 Me on the night before a math test
Bought for £94 which is currently $120 isn't. Looking forward to something different from my brooks. About 60g lighter
One long beep away from RUclips demonetization 😂

I would love to hear your review on the FLYEASE lacing system on the pegasus 35!!
Blake Watson 36^*
I was torn between these and the OG Peg 35 but since I had a crazy discount to bring the Turbos down to $120 I had to cop them hoping for the best
I've been looking forever for someone who actually knew what the hell they are talking about. Great review! Subbed!

ive done 400 miles in mine fantastic trainer cant fault apart from price
One of the BEST running shoes out right now IMO
16 out of 20

Thank goodness for a good review!
But you better start collecting your coins in a sweat jar cause... 😂😂😂
Pho-beeeeee-kah!!! I don't know why that's so funny to me. Also, please do a review on the New Balance beacon. I know it's a road shoe, but I think it is one you'd like.
I ll wait to buy it in an outlet hahaha.
Awesome review. I totally agree with you.
Do you have also the new New Balance Beacon in rotation?
Have you tried the New Balance Beacon? It’s the Clifton 1 reborn and better.
One review everyday? I subscribed.
I’ve had two pairs so far and I could never go back. Have gotten 500 miles on both pair
Jarrod Hemann how do they fit true to size or run big?
You never mentioned weight of the shoe
thanks for this video.
How does sprinting feel like in them?
That why I wait till the price comes down you can get a pair for under $120 now.
picked mine up for $103 shipped from Finish Line. I waited for a coupon code
So a marathon on does shoes?
I tried them on a couple of weeks ago.....damn snug forefoot, the underfoot bounce was nice but I *didn't* feel $180 worth of shoe on my feet.
LOL! Yep, sure am!
I'm giving this a solid not solid answer. Ethan you're the best I can only pick on people I admire, so I feel ok telling you to practice decisiveness
I'm pretty decisive on this, not sure what you mean?
@@TheGingerRunner splitting the difference between two of three options doesn't seem solid
BUY if you can afford, TRY if you can't. Seemed pretty clear to me.
The Peg 35 at $120 is a GREAT shoe.
I have high arches and and need a great shoe. What do you recommend?
can get 300-400 miles out of the pegasus 35s... suppose it makes sense to stick with those even though they have less 'racey' features, but are still lighter/quicker than previous models
Did you experience too much softness in the midfoot area as a midfoot striker?. I heard it is and that cause pace slowness and feet pain.
not even. There are MANY shoes that are way softer than this. I found it to be a solid balance.
Can you please review the NB Beacon?? 7.5 oz Men’s (not sure of size) and roadrunner lists them at 6mm drop.
See i loved the zoom fly and hated the epic react. Guess its all subjective. But i do love me some ginger runner.
Did I just hear you say that you can only put 160 miles on them??? That’s ridiculous!! I could easily put 500 on any running shoe and do every single time mainly with Nike.
is it better than hoka?
I need a new cushioning shoe..my ultra boost and hoka atr3 feel like a brick now.
