Two car over shoot Traffic light stop line and get caught out by queuing traffic, as this junction has a red light camera, we can only hope both have gained brownie points on their licence towards becoming a pedestrian and some finnancial cost....

Unless they crossed the line when the light was red, they won’t have been flashed
Still hope they did tho because that’s not on, should be a yellow box with yellow light camera if u ask me

Hello Southampton Dash Cam Man, is it OK with you if I feature this clip "Two hopefully caught by RED LIGHT camera" in a compilation I'm making? Thanks in advance!

Have a look at any loops in the tarmac. These are just beyond the stop line. Once you've passed the stop line, you can ignore the traffic signals. I go across all the time when the lights behind me are red

what do you mean by this, the loops? I came close a couple of times, went through on amber and I'm confident it turned to red just after my vehicle had crossed the stop line. So I should be ok. I mean if they gave everyone tickets for doing this, no-one would be on the road! Ideally though as a new driver I should be more careful.

@@Mike.Cebert It is a loop of wire acting as an aerial buried in the tarmac. It detects the metal of your vehicle when you drive over it & sends the information to the roadside computer cabinet. Surely you must've seen these in the road?

@@1harryrobert Oh ok I see yes I know what you mean know. As you said though, once you've gone over the stop line and then it turns red, you're fine, of course!

@@1harryrobert and is that ANY part of your vehicle? So for example, if say the first half of your car passes through the amber but then it turns red and there's a small part of your car that still hasn't, how do they deal with that? I thought it has to be clear that both the front end and back end of the vehicle has to pass the stop line when it is red? Otherwise how will they get your number plate?
Also with this offence, is it a advisory course available to take as opposed to getting points (if it's a first offence)?

No they wont have been caught, as they were already over the white line before lights turned to red.
