The line about expensive ordinary thinking is so beautiful to me. Like, you can go and do all this luxurious, privileged stuff and indulge. That's pretty rad. But staying in the clouds literally and metaphorically isn't forever feasible, responsible and most importantly, not what you really want to be doing. How you came back down to earth to your probably relieved mother and delightful daughter illustrates that so nicely and honestly inspires me to find/create something like that for myself one day. The way you found the story (as I understand it) about the beauty in everyday life around a damn skydive is surprising & uplifting. Now i'm in a good mood as I go sit in the library again and look at a screen i.o. to become a therapist one day xD Thanks a lot for existing Beau, greetings from switzerland
I like the perspective but worth noting that I skydive frequently and it's not a bunch of 21 year olds chasing highs, a tons of middle ages people and one 80 year old I know who comes virtually every day. I like the metaphor, head in the clouds and all, but skydiving isn't indulgent or irresponsible, it's a very disciplined, safe, fun hobby and sport
I've been skydiving regularly for decades, and I've never once thought about the similarity between "passion fruit" and "parachute" - but thanks to your mum, now I can't unhear it. I've made a mental note for next time I go jumping to tell people I'm wearing my passion fruit.
May looks quite concerned!!! She sure wanted to get in there and watch everything to make sure it was all according to Hoyle! And your mom is a hoot ... "make sure it's tight, he's not having any more children."
I did a tandem jump when I was in Australia about 20 years ago. I had to wait literally all day to jump as I went with a large group of folks. The pressure built and built over the hours waiting. When I finally jumped I screamed so hard, that I dislocated my jaw and spent the entire way down with my mouth locked wide open. Luckily the footage and photos of that day seem to have gone missing. Love your vids Beau. Keep it up!
I'm gutted that there are only two more of this series because they're great! Some total gems in this one - topped off with '...life here is the best one I know'. Goodonya, Beau.
I just realized this series is almost coming to a close. That’s going to be a real shame, I’m really enjoying this series. Easily the best channel on the RUclips’s.
What I would give to fall to the earth strapped with a passion fruit. That video was hilarious, I can't believe there are just two more videos in the series
Never would have thought that a skydiving video would showcase the excitement but be themed by the home and family. Enjoyable, entertaining and moving.
Thank goodness that the passion fruit opened! I did the falling luggage thing once, strapped more intimately close to another man than I have ever been in my life. He seemed nice.
Just got a surprise birthday present for my first ever skydive and this was the first thing that came to mind. Here's to hoping my passionfruit also works alright on the way down!
Im enjoying these videos more than it makes sense considering Im watching a dude I dont know, in a place that Ive never been to talk about things that I in my youthfull 23 years of age mostly dont even understand yet. Its peacefull, its motivating and quite calming. Thank you Beau for making so many of my days just a bit more relaxed and insightfull
Glad your passion chute opened dude. Such a mum moment. I love it. My Mum told her friends my dad was attending a seance (she meant a conference) so funny!
I have my dive today at 4pm which is in less than 3 hours. I m nerveous, watching your video I feel a bit better. This is something I always wanted to do but never had the courage to do it.
Beau, I love yer videos and the simplistic beauty they express. That ending monologue hit me hard for some reason, made me laugh through teary eyes; “oh and I think it was bin night”. I myself am going to be a dad soon, my wife is expecting our first child in about a month. Something about that “getting back to being a dad” made me remember and realize that. Thanks for being you and doing what you do, you’re an inspiration. Keep it up.
Your mom is just a treasure, This year has included a friend's funeral and I treasure the everyday mundane things more than ever. Sunrise on a work commute. Sublime!
I've been watching all your videos today from the beginning, I've seen all them before but watching them one by one makes me so happy and feel like there's so much I can do to appreciate life and make it great. Thanks so much Beau
I did my first skydive last week and after watching this video I was pretty relaxed and looking forward to it. All was good especially when my passion fruit opened. Fantastic vid. Inspiring, meaningful and funny as hell. Love it 👍
Gawd! I swear the image of the pilot in a passion fruit costume, jammed into the front of the plane popped into my head as your mother said it!!! Hahahahahahhahahah!! Her expression was golden!!
Ah yeah mate! There’s nothing like living vicariously through you just to be catapulted back to reality to know that no RUclips can replace the amount of exhilaration of being a dad. Cheers mate, glad your well! - your loyal viewer Dan from NJ, USA
this was actually really well filmed and put together. actually felt like i was there, my heart rate went up when you got into the plane. i never really get that from any other media. good video
God bless mums, haha! Loved the reflection of thinking ordinary things while flying to Earth - I think that's the thing about humans that we some times have a hard time understanding - that the mundane is profound and it's sacred to who we are.
So, I'm going tomorrow for the first time and this video is the first I saw in YT and the only one I'm going to watch. No need to scare myself....just remember that I'm doing it for the THOUGHTS I'll be thinking while flying through the air. Thanks for sharing.
I enjoyed your video. Well presented with just the right kind of analysis. Very honest and light-hearted. Thank you for that! I recently took the leap along with my son for his 18th bday. I'm approaching 57. It was the most terrifying thing I've ever done, but I remained calm and centered throughout the experience and savored every moment. Would I do it again, likely not. I made it out the other side unscathed, only to find out that 4 days later, two young ladies jumping tandem at the same facility hit a dust devil 40 feet above the ground before landing and perished. It's a black-and-white sport, meaning if things go wrong, they really go wrong, not leaving much room for error. The jump and how I experienced myself surrendering control and facing my fears has already taught me so much, and I suspect it will continue to spew lessons for years to come, so I'm certainly glad I submitted to an inner need that I need to do it and followed through!
Our country seriously needs people like yourself in Canberra. 90% of what you post should be maintained through taxes, both creating employment, improving the environment and keeping these developers and politicians honest. I don't normally comment on social media about these things, but over 55 years, I have witnessed the change in Government from being focused on its people to purely running a business for profit. Stay well, thankyou for all you do and inspiring others to bend down and pick up a piece of litter or contacting their local council. It all helps.
Sky Diving is cool, but if you are ever in the situation where you can do it yourself, go for it. It took me a whole weekend of training and then the weather conditions had to be absolutely perfect, but there is no more terrifying experience than jumping out of a plane on your own, pulling your parachute, then looking down at the ground and realising you have no clue where the hell to go and you have only a one way radio on you, so they can talk to you but you can't talk back 🤣 "You're doing great up there Olly, looking really good, it's just... you're heading in completely the wrong direction, we're gonna need you to do a 180". Jumping out the plane was absolutely fine, being sat in a parachute on your own very aware that only a few bits of fabric are supporting you is terrifying. Oh and of course that horrible moment after you pull your parachute and have to check it deployed properly, otherwise you're cutting and pulling the back up..
I’ve done 5 static line jumps and it was easily the scariest thing I’ve ever done. I’m lucky the weather was nice when I went for my jumps. The last 3 we had to wait for a few hours as it was too windy until 3 or 4 pm. The first few seconds when leaving the airplane is just a scary blur, but then the parachute opens and everything is fine. It felt so peaceful up in the air. It was so quiet. I even went through a small cloud, which felt like the thickest fog I’ve ever been in. It was so odd to be a few thousand feet up in the air and see nothing. Yeah it was a bloody marvelous experience.
@@DanDanDoe I think static line is probably the way to go. I remember the worst feeling for me was just the waiting around. It took so long to get up to 10/12K and everyone else doing static lines and tandems had already gone. Being up there alone is a very surreal feeling. Will do it again one day but opt for the static line next time.
Mate great video, I'm doing my first ski dive in exactly 2 weeks and nerves started kicking in. But watching your experience I will reflect back on it for some calmness when it comes to me jumping out of a plane with a passion fruit 😂
Done my first skydive recently and I have to say this is pretty close to what I was thinking. The serenity of it all floating in the sky really makes you think about your small place on earth.
I don't think I ever appreciated how artistic farmers were about their crop patterns until I was jumping out of a plane above them, and they looked like a massive patchwork quilt. Been over 15 year since I jumped out of a plane, and I'm keen to go again!
I used to try a skydive atleast once a year. As someone who is self employed, the 20 odd seconds of free fall where you completely think of absolutely nothing is just pure bliss!
The line about expensive ordinary thinking is so beautiful to me. Like, you can go and do all this luxurious, privileged stuff and indulge. That's pretty rad. Exceptional insight and summary, Noah. I couldn't have said it better myself. Thanks for watching my friend. B

That's what mum was going for I think. Gold
With your unbeaten storytelling, I feel like a kid again, full of childhood innocence and unwavering enthusiasm.
Thank you adopted RUclips dad.
The most surprising thing in this video is that Beau has never made a wooden raft!
Yeah, this one was underwhelming. Short expensive thrill? Done. Next.
He has
spoiler alert!
Hahahaha I read this comment before I saw the end and thought wtf is this bloke talking about! Made me laugh! Good Stuff!
Hopefully he some serious rapids to contend with :P

His channel is one of the most life affirming channels on youtube if I may put it that way.
Didnt think id see you here lmao.

Picturing it is funny as hell 🤣
I did a solo jump course in NZ in 1984. Two hrs of training and up, and out the door we went ! Freakin’ amazing feeling. 🤙
Just remember Beau, you don't need a parachute to go skydiving, you need a parachute to go skydiving twice.
💯💯😂😂
Use the same parachute twice

So glad this series is back after the holiday hiatus, and your mom is just the best!
She is a treat, a star and and force of a human. I agree JM
I feel a mother/son video is needed. Love her concern for her family but also stressing the professionals.
