Nice video, i bought the same when i saw your video, but i have a problem now, when i adjust the steering trim to the middle, the right signal light flashing, even when the servo in the middle, any suggestion ?
It says in the documentation that it’s from “3racing.” It’s in the the first paragraph but not in bold or very clear. I just bought one myself and noticed it. Loved the video and it was very helpful. I hate that 50% brightness to full for headlights too!
I finished the install with this kit but have you found a way for the turn signals to stay bright as well as the running lights and the headlights? I would like to have all three bright at the front. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Cheers
If the cable that the button is connected too is black and red the schematics are correct. If it is yellow and white shits in reverse and sketch but still works fine .
Thank you for that amazing video, I just get the Tamiya Audi Quattro A2 that need 16 light to cover the need of the model. Height of those light are the front white lights. So my question is, can I add two more light in the empty J2 and J3? This way, I will have 4 lights always open in J7 and J8 and forward lights in J2 and J3? That will solve the issue of missing light. Thank you in advance.
I wish you could but this kit isn't powerful enough. I usually make my own light set for the head lights and marker lights. You can also check out my videos covering my trick RC. They have awesome sets that will do pretty much anything.
Thanks for taking the time to review all these light kits. I was looking for this for a while and your video helped buy save money and time ! However in my case the reverse lights only switch on when I hit about 30% of the backward throttle. It is a bit annoying since it is not 100% realistic 😆 Do you have that as well ? Thanks !
Yes, usually this is a result of the trims being off-center. Make sure everything is in the center and that should do the trick. In some cases, I have seen issues with throttle reversal too but that has been dependent on the radio. I hope that helps!
@@AMPROEngineering thanks for your reply ! I tried to play with the trim with no luck. It is probably a problem with the radio than. Just to help others having the same issue, the radio am using is a Radiolink RC6GS v2. If you are using the same radio the light kit won’t work as expected. Thanks
Thank you for solving my problem of choosing this great light controller. I really appreciate it. But could you tell me if I can use this controller and LEDs when my HobbyWing 1080 ESC is set to 7,4V instead of 6V ?
I'm liking this set, know you see it as annoying, but outer headlights ON then "high beams" kicking on at 40-50% throttle is a pretty cool option that can be made to happen in single or double light buckets.
At the beginning of review; J2 w/ the throttle pos = NOS or turbo/rocket boost ;-) :-p I found these a couple days ago on ebay by accident for about 10.98ish (was waiting to watch this vid) I will order 2 at least maybe 4 . I saved this vid for later so I don't have to get PO'd working with it when I install them,, thx again and let us know when you get the other one you found if it's different.
This one has had the best instructions so far. I know the others looked like I had no issues but that second one I reviewed makes me shout every time I use it. That is testament to how good this one it. Hope you like them!
Hi my friend I got my light kit that you actually like in this video and you'll be happy to know that my numbers on the control unit are actually in the right configuration to the diagram I bought mine from AliExpress for $10 bucks
Great video! I ordered some after watching this video. One question though, how much voltage does your RC battery have? Cause the description for the lights says it has 4.8 - 6V input voltage and I got worried realizing I'll use these in an RC car with 7.4V battery.
Would it be possible to make this light kit or the tamiya light kit wireless? Meaning can you make a video and make this possible? There are other videos where they solder positive and negative wires to the magnetic post of the rc car!!!
yeah you could but given the number of leads you would need (headlight, markers, parking, reverse, turn, etc) it would be a total mess on the body mounts but still a great idea.
Omg after days of searching I’ve found a decent light kit, not sure why all the ones available are so so bad, either the headlights change in brightness with throttle or there are no proper break lights
I know this post is a few years old, I just purchased two of these kits, and put one in my Xmaxx, only function that works correctly is directionals. When i start plugging other lights in the module, my steering will twitch when I pull the throttle, can't get reverse lights and brake lights to function as intended no matter what I do?? I'm thinking maybe the 4s Xmaxx esc is too much for this little unit? I'm at a loss right now.
Hmmm...so check what the receiver output is. It should be a standard 6-7.2 v. If you swap them, does the same thing happen? If not, then maybe the unit is bad. I have had one (not this one but a similar one) not have working reverse lights. These are super cheap and sadly, commonplace for something at this price point.
I’m new at the r/c game and I bought this light kit for my 15 year old radio shack ford p/u it doesn’t appear to have any place to plug in this kit , can it be adapted to it or do I need to take it apart more. Can you help.
Hi, I have a Jjrc q65 jeep, and I was thinking of putting this light kit on it. I can see it is using a splitter wire to connect with the steering and motor. However, I also want to put a dasmikro sound unit along with this light system. The sound unit also occupies the motor connection. Is it possible to get both these product fitted or I have to choose any one them?
Man...that’s a good question. I would assume that both will work but space is also a concern. I have never used a sound kit but this may be a good test
@@AMPROEngineering thanks going to try sending power from esc and disconnected it coming out going into the rec. and will be using old axial ESC vs using my Holmes Hobby lol will post to let you know
same lighting kit i have in my slash which i only drive at night, and since the truck lights are the only lights i have to see at night and i didn't car about backup lights, i mounted the 5mm backup led's in front and plugged them into one of the aux you turn on with the dip switches so all the white led's are pointing forward, unfortunately 2 of the whites are dim until you accelerate but since i'm almost always full throttle they only go dim when i start the slide into a corner then i'm full throttle again. the other nice thing about the kit is there's no blue led's, why someone want blue led's on a car in the first is a mystery to me.....
I bought this kit, works great on the bench but with the motor connected above 75% throttle it lights up like a christmas tree with everything on max brightness. Any idea how to solve that one?
Oh boy....well I can see that maybe the throttle is reversed so the brake and reverse lights would come on but you describe all the lights coming on. Likely it is a bad unit.
@@AMPROEngineering could it possibly be a reciever issue you reckon?. It all works fine with proper brake & reverse lights until the motor is under high load & then it all lights up, car drives fine mind you.
Man I wish I could help but I have no clue about motor programming. I think that it has more to do with the radio trims. Have you adjusted those? I know mine need to have adequate travel for them to work. 2.4GHz I assume?
Hmmmm, Both of the cars I have this on are 75mhz and seem to be fine but there are so many factors that could lead to issues. I don't know why that would matter unless the unit can omit noise that would interfere with the receiver on an AM unit? Wish I knew more about this. Hope I helped a little.
hi friend i see u order and will soon send u item out have a good day:) this was the answer i got for asking if it worked on 27 or 75 heheheheh we will see if it works when it gets here an you did help a little thank
Neither. Most LED's are between 2 and 4v and need resistors to work with 5v and higher. You will need to measure the voltage and then use resistor to help burn off the extra. Check out e33 for what I am talking about.
I've just for the latest version of this light kit, and I am using it with Futaba R334SBS receiver and basically it doesn't work. I guess it's because the signal of the Futaba T-FHSS is so fast that it cannot be picked up by this kit. Any suggestions?
Kind of a dumb question but will this thing work if its put on it’s own battery to just have the running lights on? (I’ve been having it interfere with my esc and didn’t like it)
AMPRO Engineering AMPRO Engineering hey there just a follow up from my question and give to give you some information that might be helpful, after some tinkering I found out that plunging a 1.6v battery in backwards so that positive goes to positive and negative goes to the sensor wire will power the light up, just everything on full no blinkers or special effects, also it can do the same with plugging into a receivers accessory port if you have a male to male connector to connect it to receiver with the connection to the light controller backwards of course (also only using one of the included receiver spliters to go to ch1 and 2 on the controller)
What voltage were you supplying to this? I found this kit on Alibaba but it does not state what voltage. Most of the kits are 0-6V which will not work for me.
These are plugged right into the receiver battery port. Therefore they are 5-6V. I have not seen one for an RC car application that runs a high voltage but there may be something out there.
I realize this is an older video and you may not read this, but I have bought 2 of these sets for my son's Rustler and my 4wd Slash VXL. I installed it on my son's Rustler and everything works great, however my slash has no brake lights or reverse lights. I switched controllers then y harnesses with same results. I came to the conclusion that my receiver is not sending throttle controls to engage lights. but my motor is still behaving normal with brakes and reverse features. Any suggestions on what I can do to get them to function properly? It does not appear that the light module is faulty due to it works in my son's Rustler as the first did. I have the tsm receiver, could that be messing with the controls? Any insight would be greatly appreciated thank you,
So these units are really, really cheaply made. That said, one of the most common issues I have seen is not with them but rather with the trims on the radios. If they are not centered for ch1 and 2 to start, they just wont work correctly. Start there but if they still wont work, try swapping them and see if they behave the same. As for the TSM, i have not tried them on that radio though as some point I should given I have 2 of them.
@@AMPROEngineering I have reset my throttle and steering zeroed out and same results. I even moved to headlights to the position that brightens when throttle is engaged and nothing happens. They remain dim under throttle and no brake lights. Sometimes the reverse, headlights and brake lights are all on bright so I believe that it is not getting the proper signals from the receiver. I just don't know how to fix it. It is still a cool light kit and I will just have to deal with the lights I do have working. It just has to be my receiver, I thank you for your fast response and insight on the issue. If you come across this issue again and find a solution please reach out to me with the resolution to this issue.
@@rabbitsrcs how's it going, buddy? I have the same issue with my TRX4. Brake and reverse functions won't work. Lemme know if you found a solution to make it work.
No, this runs off the of receiver power. They usually output 5-6V or so. The receiver needs to be powered from a speed control that usually uses the 7.2V battery.
I actually received one of these units today. Everything is working, except the brakes. They are dimly lit,but when I hit the brake nothing happens. Can't get the reverse to work either. I adjusted trims, etc. Any ideas? If anybody has used this on the DumboRc with the X6FG receiver,Please let me know the outcome. Thanks
I will try. Every time I do they change, haha! I am looking now and can't find any. Ill look harder when I am home and post if I do. These used to be all over the place.
I removed the steering servo horn, tried adjusting the trim until the lights work properly and then install the horn back on the servo while centering the steering. Now I have no trim adjusting capability. Perhaps there’s a compatibility issue between my equipment. I am using the Flysky fs-gt3c

I have that exact problem on mine also, not sure how to alleviate this issue
It says in the documentation that it’s from “3racing.” It’s in the the first paragraph but not in bold or very clear. I just bought one myself and noticed it. Loved the video and it was very helpful. I hate that 50% brightness to full for headlights too!
Yeah I can't stand that.
I finished the install with this kit but have you found a way for the turn signals to stay bright as well as the running lights and the headlights? I would like to have all three bright at the front. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Cheers
Wow. What a ride, just to get to something that makes sense. Lol. Thanks for the hard work!!!
No problem
YESSSSSSSS JUST WHAT I NEEDED THANKYOU THANKYOU
Glad I could help!
thanx..just what i needed found same kit on ebay £13 coming from china ..cant wait
It is a great controller. I think I have 20 or so of them installed and in use!
If the cable that the button is connected too is black and red the schematics are correct. If it is yellow and white shits in reverse and sketch but still works fine .
It is correctly installed and seems to make the headlights flash? It is always different.
FYI it's work! I added two more LED and it work's fine at low price
bad ass light kit
It is a good one.
Nice video this is the best led system, i wish mine works like this one
Yeah, I am tired of all the ones out there that make no mention of operation in their advertisements.
Well you just answered all my question with this video and help me on buying a correct working lights set for my tt02 delta! Thank you
Mine just came today and I installed it watching this vid.Cool
Oh that's great! Glad it helped.
Which one is better ? In this video or in E39 video that you make?
Well... I like both but I use lots of these
Great Videos
Thank you!
Sure thing! I think it would work but honestly I have not tried that. 1.4V is not that much of a delta but I cannot say if that will work.
The ones that come on when you give it half throttle or more might be for inside the exhaust tips...lol
That is the best idea ever....
They are good just got them today they are excellent I wanna buy another for back up 😁😁
Cool! Glad you like it.
I'm liking this set, know you see it as annoying, but outer headlights ON then "high beams" kicking on at 40-50% throttle is a pretty cool option that can be made to happen in single or double light buckets.
At the beginning of review; J2 w/ the throttle pos = NOS or turbo/rocket boost ;-) :-p
I found these a couple days ago on ebay by accident for about 10.98ish (was waiting to watch this vid) I will order 2 at least maybe 4 .
Oh good to hear!
@@AMPROEngineering thought you'd like to hear that the numbers are correct
Great review!! =) Subscribed! :)
Thank you!
Great video! I ordered some after watching this video. One question though, how much voltage does your RC battery have? Cause the description for the lights says it has 4.8 - 6V input voltage and I got worried realizing I'll use these in an RC car with 7.4V battery.
The battery is not used to power this directly. It gets power from the receiver. They are between 5 and 6v
@@AMPROEngineering Cool! Nothing to worry now. Thanks for the info. Can't wait for mine to arrive!!!!
Did you try this KIT with 7,4V?
@@radieroslaw yeah, still working after almost a year
@@erikfernandez4494 Thank you.
Thank you for that.
Sure thing!
I tried tamiya light kit and GT power Pro
Yeah i have that GT Power Pro. Returned it immediately. Ill have the video soon.
Omg after days of searching I’ve found a decent light kit, not sure why all the ones available are so so bad, either the headlights change in brightness with throttle or there are no proper break lights
this is how I feel. I made this series just to find something that doesnt suck. This one here is the best low cost option.
No it needs a receiver designed for hobby type RC's. Basically all of the electronics of the car need to be swapped out. Sorry man.
Thanks for your reply I greatly appreciate it. Is it possible to just wire the running lights by themselves without all the other stuff.
I have never used a sound kit but this may be a good test
so how do you wire it if you have a BEC in line and you disconnected the power from the ESC ?
I'll be darned if i can get it to work
Wow that is a fantastic question. I've never run anything with a BEC and this lighting kit.
@@AMPROEngineering thanks going to try sending power from esc and disconnected it coming out going into the rec. and will be using old axial ESC vs using my Holmes Hobby lol will post to let you know
Can you tell me what diameters the led lights are. I’m thought I heard somewhere they were 5mm for the large ones and 3mm for small ones. Thanks man
That is correct.
same lighting kit i have in my slash which i only drive at night, and since the truck lights are the only lights i have to see at night and i didn't car about backup lights, i mounted the 5mm backup led's in front and plugged them into one of the aux you turn on with the dip switches so all the white led's are pointing forward, unfortunately 2 of the whites are dim until you accelerate but since i'm almost always full throttle they only go dim when i start the slide into a corner then i'm full throttle again. the other nice thing about the kit is there's no blue led's, why someone want blue led's on a car in the first is a mystery to me.....
Man... those blue LED's...I have no idea
I wish you had links to these products
The links would last a matter of days. Ebay sellers change constantly. Nothing I can do about that.
Upgraded motor to Castle Sidewinder and lost brake and backup lights function. Is that something that can be remedied in the motor programming?
Man I wish I could help but I have no clue about motor programming. I think that it has more to do with the radio trims. Have you adjusted those? I know mine need to have adequate travel for them to work. 2.4GHz I assume?
Those modes are for like police or ambulance types builds
Very good point.
@@AMPROEngineering keep up the good work. Love watching your reviews
Thanks man
I found them just ordered one too 😁 lots of scrolling
Oh good! Hope you like it!
I will once I get them lol and the. Watch your video again to have the correct setup
hi AMPRO i know this kit says 2.4 ghz but do you think it will work with 27MHz/75MHz
great videos as well
Hmmmm, Both of the cars I have this on are 75mhz and seem to be fine but there are so many factors that could lead to issues. I don't know why that would matter unless the unit can omit noise that would interfere with the receiver on an AM unit? Wish I knew more about this. Hope I helped a little.
hi friend
i see u order
and will soon send u item out
have a good day:) this was the answer i got for asking if it worked on 27 or 75 heheheheh we will see if it works when it gets here an you did help a little thank
Well thanks. Let me know how it goes.
Hi mate. I can't find it on Ebay. Kindly, could you share the page?
Wish I could man, they come and go randomly. The sellers are super inconsistent.
Is it possible tu turn on blinker ligths all the time.. without stearing?
No you cannot with these.
what type of replacement leds should i get 6v or 12v leds?
Neither. Most LED's are between 2 and 4v and need resistors to work with 5v and higher. You will need to measure the voltage and then use resistor to help burn off the extra. Check out e33 for what I am talking about.
what is the best led you think. Thanks
This one for sure.
for this led kit do you need any other wires or plugs to make them work in a rc car/truck... or does it come with every thing you need?
It comes with everything fortunately.
@@AMPROEngineering that little groove doesn't allow the y splitter to plug into my Chanel one or two🤔
I've just for the latest version of this light kit, and I am using it with Futaba R334SBS receiver and basically it doesn't work. I guess it's because the signal of the Futaba T-FHSS is so fast that it cannot be picked up by this kit. Any suggestions?
May have to do with the trims. If you have the rates too low then it's likely that this doesn't see the servo input.
Maybe thay stay on for a muffler smoke effect
That's as good a reason as any!
Kind of a dumb question but will this thing work if its put on it’s own battery to just have the running lights on? (I’ve been having it interfere with my esc and didn’t like it)
No not dumb at all. Technically yes but it would not get inputs (obviously) and you would need a 6V source to both the ch1 and ch2.
Can you send me the link where to buy this please? Thanks
search eBay item number 264941334858 . That is the seller I get mine from.
Hi,but I had a problem with such a kit, with full throttle, the right turn signal flashes - I can't understand what's the matter, the marriage?
Usually you need to set the radio trim to the center.
@@AMPROEngineering походу брак-умирает плата-я не один такой
@@descontracao6566 I have not figured it out honestly, have been working on some of my crawlers lately

@@AMPROEngineering Just received mine. It'll be going into a new body, Proline Z28 Camaro. Very cool for the money.Oh, it does work with Tamiya leds.
Do you know if it's possible to use a 3ch transmitter and receiver to control the demo mode of a led system like this one?
Now there is a thought. Without testing it I just dont know.
Oh well ty for your answer
How do you wire it for marker lights?
You have to make them yourself and then power them from a different power source. That is the failing that all of these kids have
Can I use a 7.2 volt battery pack with this light kit
No, this runs off the of receiver power. They usually output 5-6V or so. The receiver needs to be powered from a speed control that usually uses the 7.2V battery.
Exelente 👍
Thank you!
cool thats the unit i bought
Oh that's good!
Unfortunately I can't make the braking and reverse functions to work with my TRX4 truck.
Has anyone else gone through this?
Have you centered the trims? This is a big feature that is over looked. These need to have all trims as close to center as possible.
@@AMPROEngineering Yes, I have. didn't work though. Thanks anyway.
Anyone know where they still sell these?
I think you can find them on ebay still.
Thanks
I always find that the trims need to be centered on the radio for these to work correctly.
@@AMPROEngineering That was the issue. I had to adjust the trim ever so slightly, then it worked.
can u plz link one kit. i want one for my crawler
I will try. Every time I do they change, haha! I am looking now and can't find any. Ill look harder when I am home and post if I do. These used to be all over the place.
😂 jeesh! finaly. bugs me out to when thing don't work like they should.
I know. That's why I have been buying them. I knew there had to be something good out there!
Thank God I was confused how to make this work🤣
It's remarkable how horrible the instructions can be
Where can I get them
I found them on ebay.
I have this kit but I’m having trouble with the turn signal. One side is always flashing. Can’t get it to stop. Anyone have this problem?
You need to center the steering on the radio. Almost all of the trim needs to be done mechanically by adjusting the servo horn and tie rods.
I removed the steering servo horn, tried adjusting the trim until the lights work properly and then install the horn back on the servo while centering the steering. Now I have no trim adjusting capability. Perhaps there’s a compatibility issue between my equipment. I am using the Flysky fs-gt3c
The once thought shitty lights where actually the best
I know I was amazed too.
