@@JoshMiddletonOfficial wow thanks for watching mate!! It really is a fantastic plugin!! Amazing job!!! Everything I need for drums.
Thank you!!
Did u sub him @JoshMiddletonOfficial ?
What reaper theme is that? Its pretty sick looking!@DuFFuL
@@jerryfick8547 hey mate. It’s called LCS_Reaction_Dark.
That’s what it says in the theme picker anyway lol.
@@DuFFuL nice man. I'll have to check that out. Thanks brother
Awesome job of showing this. I am like you with the Gojira kit from Mixwave and now this thing hits and I am loving the sounds. Thanks again for this!
@@michaelrichardson8343 I still think Gojira is amazing as well as the avengers sevenfold one I bought as well. I’m doing an album for myself using those two kits. Sounds great.
Thanks for watching!!
Thanks for showing all the presets.
@@DarkStoneCastle no problem. Thanks for watching 🤘🏻🤘🏻
O wow!!! I have not heard of Ultimate Heavy Drums, holy crap they sound so freaking good man! This is what we’ve all needed and didn’t even know it until this video. The flexibility just set new precedent for me and they sound absolutely phenomenal!! DuFFuL, thank you, really!
@@douggroulx1525 get into it man!! Easily the best new plugin in the market! Josh Middleton really hit the mark on this one!!!
Thanks for watching as always man! Really appreciate it!
Amazing as always.
@@juancarlosbernabeaviles thank you very much!!
I knew you will do it.Thank you.
@@tomix1970pl1 hahaha it’s to metal for me to not do it my friend!!
@DuFFuL Update , Fotis benardo drums will be getting some very cool Edrum features in the next revision, really nice people and support.
@@Plastidon I’m going to check it out for sure. I was watching some great reviews on it the other day. Looks amazing!!!
I really like this channel. Please make that bass video. An indepth one would be awesome. Also your a wicked good guitar player. Who writes great rifts. Keep up the good work
@@coinsforthereaper6990 wow thank you very much. I’m planning the next video on the bass plugins I use. Showing off my recording chain and how I get my tone. Thank you very much for watching and the kind words
sounds massive, definitely getting this one! 🤘
@@rynoriffs6505 you and everyone else hahaha. We are all going to sound the same soon hahahaha!
In all seriousness though, it’s well worth it mate!! You regret buying this one!!
@@DuFFuL Yeah that's the problem hey bro, love the content keep it coming my Aussie brother.
@@rynoriffs6505 Well I guess then it comes down to creativity. Riff Competition LETS GO hahahahahahaha
@@DuFFuL im in!
awesome
@@centroproiv5614 thank you!
Oh man I almost regret clicking on this video... I swore to myself not to buy another plugin and now I am seriously tempted 😅
Awesome Demo Track - i especially love that driving part at 4:08 🤘
Oh and congratulations on 1000 subscribers my friend 🙂
@@Luke_Lumberjack_Music hahaha I told myself the same thing after I spent $300 on drum programs from Mixwave!! The he goes and releases this thing. Although I am glad I spent the money. It is soooooo damn good. I mixed another song last night using and wow does it hit hard!!
Thank you. I do really like that song. It’s a bit of an older song I wrote a number of years ago that was just sitting on my hard drive so I thought I’d use and it sounded great with this plugin!!
I can’t believe I made it to 1000 subs. Thanks to all you guys for sure!! It means so much!!
@@DuFFuL yeah i bought it too and you were absolutely right... These drums sound fantastic 🤘
The only thing that I miss is my huge Midi library from EZDrummer
@@Luke_Lumberjack_Music You can still use them. Just load Up an instance of EZdrummer in your daw and then drag the midi onto the track that has this plugin on it. You can use ezdrummer to choose the samples.
@@DuFFuL true! I figured i Just need to do a little bit of remapping since some triggers aren't assigned the way they are in EZDrummer but with a Bit of preparation it actually works fine 👌
@@Luke_Lumberjack_Music it actually has a ezdrummer mapping option.
me again! lol (it's not stalking if it's on youtube.) My first thought when I heard them the other day was wtf they sound perfect. The kicks and snares are spot on for what I have been looking for. buying it today and done, I've got what I have been looking for. obviously not for you... there's a £200 drum library ready to come out somewhere with your name on it lol.
@@adamdavis307 no I’m pretty damn happy with these. I think these could be the last drums I ever buy……..
Maybe!🤔
Seems like a busy time for drum libraries lately. I haven't bought it yet, but I saw Fotis Bernado drum kit from Stigmatized Production. Think that I might put it on the "to buy" list. Over 3,000 midi grooves included. Could be a winner. Always enjoy your reviews and of course the demo songs for each. Keep on killing it, sir.
ha I literally bought fotis yesterday and then Josh put his out. I was trying to justify buying this. And your right the midi alone in fotis is worth the price. It's amazing and realistic. Best I've heard
@@scatteredtothewinds6662 I will wait to check that one out. With my drum plugin addiction I would probably just grab it. I really want to spend some more time with this one before I move on.
@@dougb3854 man you guys are killing me with these suggestions!!! Now I want that one as well!!
@@DuFFuL That seems like a sensible course of action. I have so much stuff that I never use...better to hold off. I will keep it at the top of the list, for now.
@@scatteredtothewinds6662 They all just keep releasing stuff and my wallet is really feeling the pinch!! hahaha Im not one of those big channels that gets everything for free. I have to buy it all.
Sounds amazing! Did you do any post processing? If so, what? It sounds better and brighter than it does Insode my daw
@@mldscott23 slight little bit of eq and compression. Boosted eq around where the kick and snare hit just to give them a bit more bottom end and then a slight compression using an IK multimedia plugin. Nothing to much. Only slight. I’m going to another video on it all in a couple of weeks as follow up video.
Wow 🎉. You’re no slouch yourself! When is Duffal Drums coming out?
Hahaha nah Ill leave all that to someone else. Besides, how would I ever compete with the master Josh Middleton. These drums are near perfect.
Hey there, sounds great! Do you mind being asked about what you have on your master chain? Very close to pulling the trigger on this kit.
Do you mean how I master the track?
If so, I simply use Ozone 5 from Izotope. I have never seen the need to upgrade to any of the latest versions and I can't stand all the A.I implementation in their new stuff. I like to be able to control all the parameters myself.
If you meant the master bus in my mix,
I just use some EQ, compression and exciter through Neutron 3, again from Izotope. I also put some tape saturation on in the way of IK multimedia Tape 440 plugin.
Nothing too fancy!!
@@DuFFuLgreat question I was always curious about that myself, Good to know. Thank you.
Can I use my edrum (Roland Td30) to play the midi notes?
Josh Middleton said E-Kit support is coming next week.
Fell like I had been watching every single video for this library. Do you feel this library can be used for a final mix Oris more geared towards writing & demoing?
Honestly, I think it could be easily used for a final mix. I don't think 99.9% of the population can tell what a real drum kit is and what is a plugin. Especially being that these are just real drum kits played back as midi.
If you went to a studio and recorded these kits yourself, what would be different in the sound?
@@DuFFuL what would certainly be different is for mine to sound like rubbish 🤣🤣 cool, thanks mate. I guess the only reason I am questioning this is because I am so used for drums in a final mix to be routed out into countless channels and the processing being adjusted to the rest of the mix... But then again, now that I think about it, I always start with drums first and mix them to my liking and make the rest work around the drums. So yeah, I might just have to get used to only working with a finished stereo drum track
@@valentinzwick5408 I always find a kit I like and then balance the rest to that. The thing is that realistically these drum are already processed for you. You do have some control over them with regard to a little eq and transient shape and such and if a snare isn’t sitting great you can always change it or even change the tuning of the snare.
The question I always ask myself is this. Being that I could multi put drums and process them all myself, could I make them sound as good as these do given that these were processed by someone who probably has way more experience working with drums then I do?
@@DuFFuL true that. Probably just an example of having a little less control, when having all the control eats up a ton of time to work on a good drum mix. Committing probably is key here - that's how I like my drums to sound (and boy they do sound how I like them), commit to that sound with only being able to do a few notches and make the overall mix work.
Does these cymbals have "choke" option?
They certainly do!!
Does this sample library include a mega Bell ride by chance?
@@D20band I can’t say whether it’s a mega bell ride but the bell on the ride sounds huge. Actually it has two rides and the both have really solid loud bell sounds. Unfortunately I don’t know exactly what the rides are. They just say left ride and right ride.
@@DuFFuL many thanks for the reply!!! I may have to just pick these up! They sound great!!!
@@D20band you won’t regret it!!
are they premixed or do you get raw versions?
@@franzeek they are pre mixed. I know you can download the raw samples but I didn’t bother. I don’t like to spend time processing my drums. I just want them to sound good straight away so I can concentrate on writing.
I have just bought the Krimh drums :D How do they compare, may I ask? From your demo I'd say both sound very good, I just like the interface in Krimh a bit more (it's more compact) :)
I would say I prefer this one. It has way more control over the whole kit. Krihm still sounds amazing though and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend either of them!!!
@@DuFFuL Thank you ;)
@@LandsOfDespair Anytime!!!
Krimh sounds very much like the new Arch Enemy sound. But it's a bit too flat / dull / far away for me. I like clear and in your face like this sounds
@@elguitarTom I agree. I like bright snappy drums. Krihm sounds great but it doesn’t suit my style.
How do they compare to Superior Drummer 3 for real?
@@adownbeatexegete1549 I don’t actually own superior so I can’t really make a direct comparison.
what did you use to get that tasty guitar sound
@@krissmith2396 I show it towards the end. I used Neural DSP Soldano X, Gojira X and Fortin Nameless X. Love all those plugins!
@@DuFFuL oh ok. cool sorry I stopped when you were showing some of the things in the drum program I saw on another vid. very nice sick tones for plugins for sure. thanks man for the reply.
@@krissmith2396 anytime man.
First review I've seen on this, and it sounds sicker than a diarrhea milkshake.
I'm definitely picking this up, thanks for a solid honest review.

This is so worth every cent!! You won’t regreat the purchase at all!!! Thanks for watching!! I really appreciate it!!
why in the hell did we not hear it with the guitars🤨
What do you mean?
@@DuFFuL..oh sorry dude..i was watching another guys vid and he was showing it and he never played the guitar parts..some how i went to next vid and commented on your video.. which you obviously showed with the guitarparts..sorry..wrong guy... your song was slammin🤘🤨..good lesson on programming drums
@@archkarr18 hahaha all good man!! Thanks for watching!
Nice sounds killer man!! The cymbals sound awesome that's what usually sounds the most fake imo
@@vincentemerald2574 couldn’t agree more!! These cymbals sound fantastic. Best part is that they sit in the mix so well. Not harsh at all like many other plugins.
Thanks as always man
215 dollars U.S. ?
@@dougb3854 hahaha no!! That’s Australian! Probably around $145 US.
So there is nothing new comparing to other drums.
@@yuripartitski7284 I would say there is. Most other drum plugins don’t give you as much control over the sound of the kit as this and in my opinion these are the best sounding drums for metal out there.
Not even funny how far behind every other kit is
fr it's a joke when you compare anything else to it
I wouldn't really go that far. This is a very solid and well-made plugin but there are still some great alternatives out there. For me this is amazing. Especially for metal but, to some people it might not suit what they need it for.
I still love Steven Slate drums, EZdrummer, Perfect Drums and the Mixwave stuff is fantastic. They all have a place.
