I love you, bro. Very long time watcher/subscriber...but first time commenter. I've been watching since you did the interview on Frightbox with Bobby. That's when I first saw you. Since then, I try to NEVER miss one of your vids, and I soak up every bit of knowledge you have to offer, and if I don't fully understand something, I watch it until I do.
I truly believe in you. That you're genuine, honest, and have a very real desire to make every song the best it can be in the eyes and to the ears of the people who created each one....to make sure the message is conveyed in THEIR vision....and to share the knowledge of the process you have acquired along the way.
My mixes suck..lol..but are light years ahead of where they were before I discovered you...I can't say enough, bro. Much peace, love, and appreciation in your direction...
It's free, but priceless knowledge to those of us who have the same desire.
RUclips-land can be brim-full of bullshit a lot of the time. I've never felt that way for one second watching your channel..
I'm not a huge Jason Mraz fan, I am a metalhead at heart, but I will leave u with one of my favorite lines of his...

There are a lot of channels on RUclips that try to teach mixing and music production. For me, who I choose to trust comes down purely to what their work sounds like. The quality of your work has always been top notch, and that's why I continue to come to your channel to learn. I don't need RUclips to feed it to me!

  • @jordanlacey9584

I don't usually comment on RUclips, but just wanted to thank you for everything I've learned hear. I'm happy for you to have this realization! From someone who got accepted into your mixing program, but truly can not afford it, I'm so thankful for the free content you have here. The videos that helped me most were probably the least popular ones. The magic frequency/ eq videos and the newer deep dive compression videos have changed and improved the way I look at mixing in such a short amount of time. I can't wait to hear from the other engineers you've trained and trust. That's one thing I love about URM, it's nice to see how different guys have their own approach to pro results. Just cut it from the main video no extra editing, title it different, and include the main video point "automation" for example. IMPORTANT - include the link to the main video. This alerts the instant notification system on mobile devices for your subscribers more than posting any video.
It's the easiest way I've found and this is over a lot of youtube channels I've created personally and businesses I work with. It doesn't require any research or much of effort. You nailed it. I signed up for your courses because you were the one who gave me the best value for free. I’m excited to see you post videos based off of personal inspiration and interest rather than what works best on YT.

Thank you so much Jordan. Your knowledge has brought me so much in production. It's sad to see algorithms focus on the short attention span of nowadays. Longer vids can mean even more in depth quality. You have my ears! Can't wait!

The best thing about your videos (and there are many good things about them) is you, Jordan. It's always been a pleasure to be in your down-to-earth, no BS company, albeit only virtually. I'm sorry to hear you're suffering burnout, and I wish you all the best with your changes.

Jordan, I think your value and the knowledge you add to the home studio community is priceless. Your real followers will follow you to hell and back.
RUclips's essentially holding their creators hostage at this point. A youtuber is a slave to an algorithm that wants quantity over quality and to manipulate the content audiences see at a point that practically fucks with the creativity of creators.
Do what you gotta do, good sir. You're one of the good guys!

I’m one of those followers who’s been taking advantage of your free content for years, and it’s transformed my mixes. It’s exactly like you said: I’m hoping to become a paying customer one day because I know how much value I’ll get. Music is a hobby at the moment so have to priorise what I invest in each year.

I've found the advice you've given very helpful, I'll still look up a "Magical..." video if I'm struggling with something, or just need to refresh. I thank you for that, even though I doubt I'll ever be able to justify the expense of doing a course, or becoming a paid member of a community, it's just not where I'm at. Money aside, I just can't make it a priority to be that focussed for it to be worthwhile. I doubt I'll maintain focus long enough for an hour and a half video on automation, despite knowing that I really need to!
You do You, and let us worry about RUclips! Incidentally, while typing this, my phone got a notification from Discord, "Glenn Fricker has just uploaded a video to RUclips". That's how I know when he has, whether RUclips tells me or not. I don't really get into Discord much, wrong timezone for there to be anyone to chat to really, but it is the main method of me knowing about his uploads. That might be food for thought. In any case, I see no downside to this new direction from my viewpoint, the mixing tips and tutorials was why I subscribed a few years back, if I want entertainment value, I'll watch idiots doing stupid stuff! Be well!

i appreciate your transparency and your desire to be authentic. there are several channels that i used to love that have succumbed to doing what the algorithm wants. their videos suffer from a lack of content and creativity and it's clear that they're just trying to get clicks. your videos have helped me tremendously so i just subscribed and i look forward to your new content!

Your courses greatly changed my life, giving me the confidence to learn my specific areas to now become one of the most successful commercial voice actors (that no one has heard of). Since 2021 when I got full access to your courses, I have been hired approximately 1,500 times by top commercial brands and agencies. The things I have learned along the way are propelling me to places I never dreamed possible. Thanks for all you do, Jordan and team!

Just teach what you feel other people need to know. I feel like the videos I’ve saved and come back for from your channel are the ones that were definitely from you perspective and unlike anything I could find on other channels. You’ve said some pretty important, helpful things and if they’re not your most viewed videos, I’m still glad they’re out there.

Jordan, this is all good news. Thank you for everything you have done for this community over the years. I remember first seeing your videos, and when I found out you mixed This Is How The Wind Shifts and I Am Alive In Everything I Touch, I knew I had just hit a goldmine of information because of how awesome those albums sound. Thanks to you I was able to put out a great sounding mix for the band I was in. I also wanted to thank you for reviewing that mix during the last drum mixing session. The feedback you gave was excellent and spot on. If I could afford to I would take your course in a heartbeat, hopefully I can make that happen in the near future.

Without question, this channel has increased the quality of my mixes more than any other channel on RUclips. I'd even say the progress made has been exponential. The no BS approach and lack of "old man yelling at cloud" energy is a plus, and I like the fact that your videos aren't thinly veiled ads or product demos for companies who send you free stuff. When a plugin shows up on your channel, I know it's because you actually use/recommend it, and it's being discussed because it's actually relevant to the topic at hand.
The mixing cheat sheet is an incredibly useful springboard for beginners, as is the instrument mixing tutorial series. I also appreciate that instead of whining about how autotune ruined music or how everyone really should be putting a bunch of mics on acoustic drums when it's simply not practical for the vast majority of people watching, you're just like "Let's fix that hole in your mix to bring the energy and excitement back in."
Direct, easy to understand tutorials for the modern musician or budding producer... this stuff is essential and invaluable. Forget the algorithm. We all showed up because we wanted to git gud, and we will continue to show up.
Keep doing what you do best. Cheers.

Well, for me personally, your channel was like game changer, because approach of real pro is different comparing with other sound makers on RUclips. Boost same frequency on kick and bass - wtf!? But it works much better then hours of surgical cutting. Your cheetsheet - Jeez it really helps! All guys on RUclips makes rewieus on different models of 1176, but what i saw here - old fashion Waves and it's work like a beast, if you know what to do! And other stuff - tips on vocal compression, drum works, bass works, and automatisation really really cool lessons! I rewatch this all the time. I don't know what will your decision about channel, but thank you for your time and inspiration, and my best results in mixing really starting from here, i tell you... Sorry for my bad english

I think it holds to the same standard as music itself. I make a niche genre of music that I know isn't in the mainstream but still holds it's own audience of people that find value in what I do. Same applies for a channel like this, every video has been very concise and incredibly valuable in what you offer. While there is nothing wrong with wanting to grow a larger audience, sometimes that comes with a cost of shaking away some atttributes or style that made this channel unique and wonderful in the first place. Like @emberwhite said, the people that are here for you always will be. You are the man \m/

Absolutely the right decision! I have noticed this for a long time now, people have become slaves to algorithms and serve it fully and devotedly..for a few small bucks. An artistic soul should not focus on these algorithms at all. He only has to do what he feels inside is right.
