Lol I was just watching the hyundai veloster turbo review on regular cars when I saw this pop up in my notifications. 😆💀
I’ll chime in
This is a perfect car to do crimes in. When police are interviewing witnesses about what the getaway car looked like, all the people on one side of the street would be telling them it's a 4 door hatchback, but the people across the street would be saying it was a 2 door hatchback. :P
YouOnlyLiveTwice omg lol
Lol
Bet you someone will call it a Honda.
YouOnlyLiveTwice That almost did happen locally a few months ago when a woman was kidnapped and shoved into the trunk of a Veloster. Fortunately for the police, someone got pics of the car so they knew what to look for and the woman was rescued.

Best comment i've ever seen.
"Hyundai has long way to go..."
they just won Rallye Monte Carlo
@xHarux3 yeah like a peugeot or an alfa? but have you ever owned a hyundai, especially a post 2010 one? they're so bent on beating the japanese and have reach a level now where they might have reached parity in terms of reliability and might have beaten them in some aspects. Im speaking from years of owning a mitsubishi, toyota and honda before my first hyundai. i also have an '88 mercedes benz
by the way my dad was a skeptic too because of poor quality in the late 90's and early 2000s models, and overboard designs that quickly grew old. he took the leap of faith 10 years ago, and is now on his second hyundai, after selling the 10 yr old one for half its acquisition price. It's the reason why Im here in this video, I first wanted something like a 208 GTi or an Alfa Giullietta, but now I'd rather put my money on this one
@xHarux3 wow. my dad's is a van while mine is a car. I always thought the tucson was nice, I didnt know it had problems like that
@xHarux3 you are fucking brain dead lol
@xHarux3 So why do we compare cars from early 2000's to 2012 to their new line of cars? Hyundai has been scoring very high reliability points with their new cars worldwide. They were probably bad in the past, but they turned things around. They offer more for less nowadays and that warranty is now more of a thing to prove that they do dare to give long warranties for their cars. The current Mercedes C class gen had many transmission issues where they would break every 15 to 20k km's. And such an expensive luxury car brand only has a limited 2 year warranty.
Bottomline is: Cars progress very fast thanks to technology. Hyundai cars have become really good for the money. Sure, their hatchbacks still don't have an expensive high quality interior but its functional and the base models are pretty loaded. More bang for buck. Also has proper reliability nowadays.

The veloster cars are actually extremely well thought out.
The entire thing is purposefully engineered. Short wheel base but wide. This is good for rally racing which the veloster was engineered for. Large driver's side door allows big and tall people to have space in a compact car. As well as the fact that it is wide. Only a 1/2 door on the passenger rear for children. That's all children need. Hatchback for trunk space.
It doubles as a functional and economical vehicle as well as a rally racer.
However I don't think the public got it and just thought it was weird. But the rally racer version looks like a total monster and is definitely one of the best rally cars ever built.
People think of it as a weird teenage girl's car and pass it over in favor of the type r, the golf, or the focus. But truthfully this vehicle has way more potential as a race car than any of those vehicles.

Here in Australia, it's not a Veloster. We have the veloster as well, but here our N is the i30N and it's a four door hatch and by all reports, it kicks arse.
It doesn't look like we'll get the Veloster N anyway. If feel in terms of styling, and practicality, the i30N is the better car. You get a fun car, with family practicality, without the European price tag and poor reliability.

Great video and accurate review! I'd say you scored it pretty accurately Doug.
I own a 2012 Veloster and this video caught my eye as I'm interested in the newer models and what they have to offer.
-The square centered exhausts and curved back end are just such an iconic feature to the Veloster (2012 model) . However the 2019 Veloster N has a much more geometric shaped design similar to Mazda and other car brands and the side exhaust.
-Interior : Mainly the screen display on the 2019 is bigger but again seems to mirror other car brands. 2012 looks sleeker inside. Not to mention the seats have no leather sides just all fabric ( May be optional with add ons I'm not sure) But overall 2019 N looks very nice inside too.
-Engine: Okay the power rocks! , however I don't *need* that much sheer power so its N/A factor for me. I rarely use the 'sports' mode anyway lol

Remember BMW tried to make a fwd car once and it was very un-BMW like lol. This is their 2nd attempt at it and they nailed it with this car. 👌
Since Hyundai and Kia are making cars with European know how then you can be sure that their product will look nice but it will be a piece of shit out of factory junk.
@@squidproquo2241 Their flagship models are preety nice and reliable too.
@@gt131970 -"Their flagship models are preety nice and reliable too."
NO! They are NOT.
@@squidproquo2241 Compared to the Europeans and Americans... Also consider Hyundai is much better then it used to be.
I'm so glad they rounded off where the windshield intersects with the roofline. That looks so much better.
#fun fact, if you have a left hand drive and a right hand drive and cut it down the middle and stick them together you can have a left or right hand drive 5 door Veloster....mmmmm
Yusuf Petersen I’d prefer a 2 door veloster. But I fuck with the vision.
they have that, it's the i30
@@jomboneable hahaha not my point lol but yes you are correct.
with my luck I would get the car made from the leftovers that has no steering wheel
just make it so the driver is at the centre like the new mclaren
Car the type of Doug to review a guy
been driving it in Dubai , awesome car. was very happy when Marvel's Ant-Man featured it in the second movie 😁
That sound from a 4 cylinder is a job well done!!
YES I CAN'T BELIEVE HE REVIEWED THIS CAR!!! My first car was a Veloster and I will always have a soft spot for this car!!!
Try to get your hands on a Polestar Volvo. That would be fun.
This Veloster does remind me of the C30 Polestar.
Or a VW Scirocco...
Ops, its almost the same XDD
Honestly I really like the rear window design of the C30
Yes please!! The new one
Polestar is cool but not as cool as you’re making it sound lol
I want to see the video where Doug sees the car he reviews for the first time and is looking for the quirks and trying to fit into the tight spaces etc is love to hear his commentary whilst going about it
love how they're programing off-throttle overrun into the factory settings.
Omg!! Finally the Veloster N! Thank you Doug, I've waited a quite some time for this one :)
...why?
Dildo Schwaggins because people have different tastes
Cuz it’s a fake/plant comment from Hyundai lol
Check out the i30N, same power, same engine, much smaller car !.
ive loved the veloster for so long.there was a guy down street from me had one and it had these massive gaping exhaust tailpipes and yeah it totally caught my eye. i bet this will be super rare in a few years after they sell about 50 cars
I was waiting for this review
I really like the direction Hyundai is going with theirs sportier cars. Affordable and sporty yet practical / not too flashy is a look I appreciate and something that’s commonly overlooked is their tech. The 2012 sonata was several years ahead of its time, I step in my dads today and it looks like a car that would have come out this year still. High potential
I drive a 2013 Veloster (non turbo) and it’s is such a sturdy car. I’ve only had to replace the wiper pump and the battery once. She’s quick and handles super well! If you like the veloster body style you really can’t go wrong with any model year. I was recently asked what car I would get if I had to buy a new one and my answer was probably a manual, turbo veloster.
