2020 Veloster N Review | Not Great, Not Terrible
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 25 ноя 2019
- We review the good and bad of the new Hyundai Veloster N and R Spec. This car is a new breed of competent, affordable fun hatchbacks designed to be a dual-purpose machine. The Honda Civic Type R and Golf R are the closest competitors now that the Focus RS is gone in America. While there are rear-wheel-drive options in this price range, like the Miata, BRZ and Mustang, the Veloster is supposed to be that attainable daily driver that is accessible to anyone.

He's a tough critic for a $30k performance car. I think the fact that he compares it to the Civic Type R multiple times tells how just how good this car from Hyundai is.
At least u get to know the car from diff aspects
It was supposed to compare to the SI not the type R like geese thinks, yeah the power numbers and hatch stuff is supposed to be comparable but honestly the type R is miles ahead of the veloster N quality wise, handling wise, power wise, and reliability
@@eVerProductions1 The type R is almost 10k more expensive in the US without dealer markup so not comparable even more difference in price in australia
I'd take the N over the Type R every day of the week.
@@eVerProductions1 the elantra sport/ N line/ turbo is Hyundai's competitor to the Si.
"There's the best for you" truer words not often said on RUclips
Hyundai dealer in Phoenix. I test drove one. I loved it. I thought: "They are really going to have to work hard to lose this sale." They worked really hard to lose the sale. I ended up with a Ford.
Lol
Easy to find and drive her in Dallas, 3k under MSRP also.
My buddu just had a similar experience
That sucks
I went to the dealer to test drive one waited a hpir and nobody came back for me to test drive it so left and probably will not buy another hyundai due to the poor customer service
I appreciate the wheel arch camera in the shop and on the road.
I d like to know how and where is that cam mounted and i guess is one of those new super small action cams!
Should be 360 action camera like Gopro max or Insta 360 x
such an impressive & unusual camera angle, watching the suspension work is so fascinating
Yeah that was a mad shot
I’m a proud owner of a Veloster n and this car is fantastic
Not bad not terrible
Wonder why it isnt selling as well as the FK8 though 😁 and the depreciation.
The new DCT is faster than the Type R is it’s the fastest hot hatch rn and the cheapest one pretty much
@@cococly because people still think Honda is the same reliable NA 4 cyl manufacturer that they were 20 years ago.
@@cococly becuase morons like you fanboy Hondas.
I test drove it at the same dealership 3 times, and negotiated it down to 28,500 with the performance package, never looked back, I love it.
+tax?
This was mentioned before by Geese, but it's so disheartening that Hyundai and Kia are now making great cars, but the dealership experience is unacceptably horrendous. I've visited 4 different Hyundai dealers and every one of them was a nightmare. They all left a bad taste in my mouth and I ended up going with a different brand.
Exactly why I did not end up with a Veloster N - even though I really wanted one.
They treat it like a ZR1 at Hyundai... They gotta dial it back. At VW they'll throw the keys to a GTi to you lol..
Doohwan Kim yep, went with a mazda 3 because the Hyundai dealerships are all scammy
I considered the GTI but my first and only interaction with the VW dealership and the test drive was awful. At least I expected the Hyundai experience to be garbage. Haha
so sad to see. i've heard the stories and read about them and just don't get it.. literally insert "take my money" meme to any sales person at the dealership.. gotta say i'm a MINI owner, fanboy and big reason is that my dealer in MN is great about customer service.
last year when i got an oil change, i got a 2018 Countryman w/the JCW Sports exhaust kit as a loaner.. low and behold.. 3 months ago i went back in and traded my R58 in for a custom built 2020 MINI JCW Countryman. custom orders are no problem w/MINI. hopefully Hyundai gets their act together cuz i loved the original Velostar but didn't get one at the time due to low hp and sports feel. but now i'd consider it if i was a younger man. hehe
I think there needs to be a Savagegeese scarf.
Eric Letasse i would buy that right fkn now
My Miata is begging for this
There is. Her name is Mrs. Geese.
Just in time for the holidays

"Looks like a pair of Walmart sweat pants." -Turbowski 2019
Walmart clothes looks pretty nice these days ngl
Scott Turbowski is as savage as always.
he needs to be released from jail and SOON
The veloster N seats look different than the yellow stitched seats he talks about in the video.
I don't know, that could be a compliment LOL! Walmart clothes, especially the White Stag label, is on par with stuff you can buy at department store like Macy's.
I love that they made the manual transmission approachable for people who aren't pros already. I am perfectly happy to do it all on my own but if the assistance helps convert a few people then they are doing the lords work.
That's quite an unusual stance for someone with that username. I wholeheartedly agree.
User name checks out. I am also a member of the save the manuals club. We’ve got a fight on our hands, fellas.
Just learned a couple months ago on an 02 S10 i bought. Taught myself the whole way home stalls and all lol
@@deus_ex_machina_ Wait what part of my stance is unusual? Or did internet sarcasm strike again and i'm missing it?
I've driven manuals for many years now and I'm not going to heel-toe everywhere. I guess I'm not a real purist but I never understood the hate for the downshift assist. I love it and would always use it, even on the track so I can focus on the line, apex, proper braking and not worry about footing.
The camera at the top of the wheel plus the text that further explains what you are trying to portray, are simply genius. It's like every video you try to outdo yourself. Fantastic work.
The dealer experience is largely the same throughout Illinois. My wife wanted to drive just a Santa Fe knowing exactly what she was looking for and got jerked around and couldn't get a drive. A week later we ended up with a nearly fully loaded Subaru Ascent.
Mike Miller in Peoria is pretty good. Specifically chase wilkins
I'd recommend Bill at Knauz Hyundai.
@@V0ll0x I can't say that dealer name with out saying it like Pinky from Pinky and the Brain hah!
i got my sonata at wilkins hyundai in elmhurst. they really didn't jerk me around and worked with me. good dealer.

Love my Veloster N and appreciate the thorough review. The things that matter most to me about this car seemed to be valued by you as well, despite the negatives that you mentioned. Okay, we strongly disagree about the exhaust sound, but so what. Thanks
Yeah, it's a great car but I went with the GTI because it's cheaper and a better overall package for sure. But if you want raw performance with the compromise of drivability and practicality, refinement, etc. then the N is for you.
I also appreciated the much better aftermarket on the mk7 GTI and the better potential of the chassis and MQB engine.
@@roboticvenom1935 n has superior drivability and the same practicality. GTI is for an older demographic that can't handle a more focused driver's car - same the people who pick an R over a TyoeR. One wants the reputation, the other wants the real experience.
Which is fine, GTI sells incredibly well as the best Audi for the money.
@@meatblade3490 No it's that they prefer it, it's a daily driver at the end of the day. It's not even close in terms of interior, quality, refinement, etc. Not to mention the extra has mileage which saves loads of money every year, and the N costs more money.
If you're into tuning the GTI motor, for one, has an actual aftermarket scene lmao and has crazy potential for tuning, unlike the N which is at its limit not conservative like a proper German car. That's why the Focus ST gets left in the dust by the GTI.
It's an overall package, and when you consider price, the GTI will win most of the time hence why it's still recommended and is the go to.
@@roboticvenom1935 Wrong on all points. Proven in stats, multiple trusted reviewers and owners.
It's fine to be an older man and like a car that's appropriate for what you can handle. You don't need to be insecure about needing a GTI.
Have a good one, watch the corners ;)
Robotic Venom Youre an idiot 😂 Did you just say the Ns motor can’t be tuned after I just watched a ~400WHP N review?! 😂😂 Let me give you some tips, 1) keep ur little gti cuz u don’t deserve an N 2) do some research on cars before you start spewing bullshit out of ur ass and 3) Shut your stupid ass up bro 😂 /Rant
I daily an R-Spec and couldn't be happier with my Walmart sweatpants seats. It's very comfortable, fun to drive, and gets excellent mpg.
Much like the women who wear Walmart sweatpants
What real world mileage do you get?
And is that with regular grade gas or premium?
@@tmorris413 not op but i daily an r spec, my mpg is around 28-29 but i drive it pretty hard, i use 93 octane gas. if you baby it you can easily get mid to high 30s

@@tmorris413 Never saw this, sorry. I get about 28-30 city and 37-40 highway on regular.
Been waiting for your assessment of the N, thanks for the look. I picked up my performance model in April and I couldn't be happier. I was able to get it a grand below MSRP and had a decent experience with the dealership thankfully. I wanted a fun commuter vehicle that wouldn't bust the bank and this fit. It's definitely the best car for me. Thanks again

I tried to buy a type R but i got screwed around by 5 different dealerships (broken promises of buying at msrp) i finally had enough bull and gravitated towards the N performance pack. I have to say it only took 2 dealer visits and on the second visit, i was the proud owner of a N performance pack for 28.125 before taxes although a type R would have been wonderful 28k VS 45 was to good to pass up. Great review. I feel like you are hands down the best no B.S channel out there. 👍
N Style motorsports racing its also nice to know you got 10 years covered on your drivetrain. Honda’s are still dealing with gear grinds I’ve heard
@@jaybosher6144 your right. I drive this thing hard and have never missed a gear once. That's why it confuses me when people praise the type R transmission so much. I understand it's a great feeling six speed, but not many people mention the grinding issues or the lock out issue. At least savage geese did on his type R review, but most other channels just say (it a great transmission) "not as good as the Civic type R's" but good?
@@jaybosher6144 then again the type r will actually hold it's value

They still sell that? Why doesn't it have the 3.3 turbo in it? Or the 370z have the 3.0tt...
@@Pube83 the last engine it had was the 3.8 NA V6. No they dumped it back in '17
I know right? It looked so much better than the Veloster and the Veloster is only barely practical. The back is so cramped and hard to see out of it might as well be a coupe anyway.
If I want a Hyundai hatch I'd much rather get the Elantra GT N-Line.
God yes, I'd love to see coupe N.
The Genesis coupe was quite a big turd though.
Love your quiet sense of humour Savage. Cracks me up every time 😆

This video was just so insanely real and honest. I feel like I'm talking to a friend about car advice.
Thanks for doing the audio testing. No one else really does. It would be cool if you elaborated a bit more one it.
Or make a single tutorial video to reference at least
I wanted more feedback on the audio portion honestly. I wish he had separated the N and R-spec instead of lumping both together
@@WhinslorCheck Not sure that this matters when they all get the same exact speakers/hardware.
Also, just pause the video and read that screen. "Its clearly a cheaper sound system that would tremendously benefit from aftermarket speakers of better quality." If there were a glaring issue beyond that, he would have talked about it, like the awful Beats system in his Jetta GLI vid.
I'm trying to improve that process because it often there's a disconnect of one we shoot versus when we see the results
@@Fee.1 there is a single tutorial video by the way
So glad you took your time in this review. I’ve been waiting and it was so much better than the honeymoon reviews everyone does
The way Mark films and review cars it's unique, everytime you post a video, feels like is my first time watching.
Roger Beasley Hyundai, here in San Antonio TX, treated me like crap when I went to test drive this car. They said the vehicle was too premium and was for serious buyers only. They even had the nerve to say “it has three pedals, so you probably won’t know how to drive it.” I walked out and went and bought a 2019 VW GTI SE the same day. No more Hyundai Kia products for me. When I lived in Korea, their cars impressed me, but as Savagegeese mentioned, they are terrible here stateside.
Holy shit are you serious? Savagegeese has repeatedly said that the Hyundai dealers have been totally incompetent, but that's a whole new level of awful.
It's all in the way you present yourself. If you come in looking and acting like a broke 19 y/o who just wants a free test drive, you're probably not going to be treated seriously.
That's stupid AF, sounds like they blew a sale. The Hyundai/Genesis dealership here in Macon Ga. Actually treated me better than other dealers in the area.. especially Honda. Sucks man, but sounds like you found a decent deal though despite their idiocy. I don't understand that mentality, unless they have a lot of people around there wasting time.
Can also vouch for Honolulu Hawaii, but that was back in 2015.
My local dealer is quite nice, but they are still a bit weird about test drives on the nicer models, across the street at ford, the salesman told me to take out a Mustang GT for shits and giggles when I was looking at a Fiesta ST.
to hell with the car, where can i buy some irish spring soap?

Been waiting for you to post this one. You always provide the most comprehensive reviews when it comes to driving cars. Thanks Savagegeese.
Easily the best review I've seen for this car! Really appreciate the effort you put into each of your reviews. I test drove a Veloster in base, turbo and R spec just to see what it was all about. Bought a different car in the end but you nailed every aspect of this vehicle! My Hyundai dealer in CA was great, no BS and a very positive experience.
Bought my R-spec purely as a track/autocross car. Couldn't care less about the interior. For $21,000 it is perfect. Now I have to sell it to buy the N.
Why lol
To address the dealer experience, perhaps Hyundai could give more allocation to Genesis-qualified dealers.
I am in Italy, I have visited many a dealership of a lot of makers, and I can confirm that here too Hyundai dealers, in most cases, present themselves and operate like second-class make shops instead of first. Hyundai will have to upgrade this side of their business as they have their cars.
All 3 of my local Hyundai dealers are also Genesis dealers and I experienced none of what the Goose talks about.
They shouldn’t have to be Genesis dealers to not be awful. I live up in the Blue Ridge Mountains so it’s not like we’re in an affluent area or anything and I buy Fords. Our two Ford dealerships have been great experiences every time I’ve dealt with them. I hear the same thing about our Toyota, Honda, Chevy and Ram/Dodge/Jeep dealerships. Yet our Hyundai/Kia dealerships are universally panned by everyone that lives here. They each have under 3 stars on google reviews and those reviews are full of ridiculous horror stories that you would only expect to hear about the most sleazy used car lots. In a Southern US area where word of mouth seriously matters, they just don’t sell that many vehicles around here because of it. They are making great cars these days but they have a serious corporate culture issue in their dealerships that they need to address if they’re serious about shedding their reputation from the 90’s and early 2000’s.
Here in Canada there isn't any genesis dealer, and if you want one you order one online. Hyundai dealership experience is just bad.
Thank you for another unbiased review. I thoroughly enjoy your videos, from the detailed explanation to the snarky comments, and how you wrap the reviews up with final thoughts. Great video editing, too.
Nice! I was waiting for the Veloster N review. Looks right up my alley.
“You can expect 6.5 to 6.8 sec 0-60 times.” Because of that one pull you did? Come on Goose. 5.2 from Car and Driver and 5.5 from everyone else.
0-60 tests are meaningless. Those are conducted on prepped surfaces in the most ideal conditions with dozens of hard launches to get the best time. His time is consistent with other Ns on street launches.
The best launch in the street everything on , but the suspension soft. 👍🏻
Because of the stiffness in n mode.
I've bought three new Hyundais from dealerships in the past 12 years, an Accent, a Veloster Turbo, and a Santa Fe just recently. My experiences have been great with my dealers. Not sure what the hell is going on in the midwest as I bought the first one in Florida, Veloster in Colorado, and the new Santa Fe in Virginia, and they've all been helpful and let me test drive whatever I wanted.
They all were open to spending time answering my questions, respected me when I said I didn't want to pay for a bunch of extra dumb shit I didn't want or need, and when I was ready to leave they of course wanted me to buy, but weren't too pushy or anything and just gave me their cards and asked me to call them when I was ready to come back in.
if I had to guess, some dealerships do not want their top of the line sport-focused cars driven hard. They have such a limited allocation with the Veloster Ns that they can't afford to have their stock ridden hard and w/o lube. I had a subaru dealership state to me that they don't allow their WRXs to be test driven. And I'm a middle aged guy with no points on the license and a great driving record. (I'm about as low risk as you'll get for an interested WRX buyer). I won't buy from dealerships that won't offer up a test drive.
Im in OH and I can 2nd the dealer shinanigans and limited supply/availability.
Sorry you have such poor taste in vehicles. Not sure why you're sharing your story here

I thank you for the Mazda suggestion as well. I managed to convince my mom into a Mazda after being a Camry loyalist for the longest time.
The poor dealer experience is what keeps me away from Hyundai/Genesis as a whole. Almost as bad as a Hyundai/ Genesis dealer telling you that you need a hard credit check to test drive a 3 year old pre-owned car & advising you to go to another dealer to test drive a car. The dealer experience from any other manufacturer is vastly superior.
Always a great perspective and reasonable opinion. Thanks again

@Ouchwitz Summer Camp Right. The designer said it's a functional anti-lag system.

The new Dual clutch tranny seems good rumor there may be a 2.4 engine on the way.
@J. Curtis Yeah but turbo it would be 300+ hp right out of the box with some much more room to play with.

Loving your reviews!! Your reviews actually help people decide on a car they may be interested in... Like you said about test drives and how it's such a pain in the ass to get a dealer to let you test drive these higher-spec cars, you can't take a car out and actually drive it like you want to. Your reviews help close the gap between the dealer and how it'll be to own one. Keep up the great work! Also loving the new camera angles in the wheel wells and such. I recently purchased a 2020 Civic Si, my decision was based on your review. How bout that for impact.

Seems like a great car overall, for the money. I'm really excited to see the mid engine car in production. Hope it makes it. Imagine this car with a more 50/50 weight distribution and a sportier chassis.
802 Garage Hyundai wouldn’t do 7 years of concepts and hire Biermann for nothing! But the Hyundai Midship probably won’t be on a Veloster body though.
@@realAlexChoi For a second I was wondering if you were the Alex Choi from the Emelia Hartford videos. 😂
They did announce it's definitely going into production, but I have heard that from many companies and been let down. Just hoping they follow through.
I'm betting it will be a fresh platform as well of course, but likely with the front suspension based on the current Veloster/Elantra and the rear suspension being mostly new with some borrowed components in the rear from some of their RWD architecture but probably downsized. Have to keep cost down somehow, but I'm hype!

I wanted to not like this review because of the title; felt a bit harsh given the N’s mission. But your trackwork was on-point, and you know your shit.

Great review .....here in Europe I prefer the styling of the i30n or fastback n .....what you guys call elantra
true...i30 is really a nice looking car, but a ittle bit expensive for no reason
The i30n looks like an Audi A3 derivative...
@@wonderboy1998 In Australia i30 N is approx 41K AUD (27.8K US) plus on roads, the fastback N is 42K AUD (US28.5K US) plus on roads so the same price or even a little bit less than the US. All Australian N's get the higher output motor as standard. Surprisingly we seem to get better pricing on a car for once, it's usually skewed the other way by a large margin.
@@damo5701 very true I watched Aussie reviews y'all got it great down there 🤙
It's an absolute shame that Hyundai didn't offer an Elantra N for the North American market. That would have made a great option for those of us shopping for a 4dr hot hatch. In the end, I chose a 4dr Mk7 GTI in base trim.
Music for this video is on point. Well done
For me it's not just Hyundai dealerships that are awful, Honda and Toyota(these are the only brands I'd ever consider) have been horrible to me as well. Last time I bought a car at a dealership was in 2005 when I bought my Scion xB..two guys were jerks to me even though I didn't haggle for the price. Therefore, from that day on I swore I'd never buy from a dealership again..and a few years ago I added "I will NEVER step one foot on a dealership EVER again". No buying, no maintenance, no inquires, nothing nothing nothing. I gought my Civic Si from a friend for 15K and it should last me many years of enjoyment.
Doing ANYTHING that involves a dealership is an absolute SOUL CRUSHING EXPERIENCE..and guess what? it's fun to drive past so many dealerships and realize "it will NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN!"
Yeah the constant pops and crackles will get cliche real quick! I'm happy my LNF/SS only does it when its in track mode and wot! So a nice rumble for everyday till the boost is turned up.
pops are only n mode
The main thing that draws me away from any Veloster, is the interior. I love my 2018 Elantra sport interior. It's so much more mature and cleaner and feels more premium.
Thanks for another great review/video, I really enjoyed this one! Watched it about 3 or 4 times through now, as I really appreciate your insight and thorough review on every aspect of the vehicles you take a look at.
I know this video is a few months old, but I picked up my N with performance pack a few weeks ago. Absolutely fantastic car, super fun, super enjoyable to drive. I've already done 2 autocrosses, and I have pretty much 1 or 2 events scheduled for the rest of the season.
The dealerships seem to be a lot more chill about this car now that it's a year or so old. I remember when they first got them in, no dealership was letting me drive one unless I was buying. I went into a dealership fall of 2019 for something, (can't remember what, but it certainly wasn't to buy a car) and they threw me the keys to a brand new N with PP like it was nothing. I'm in Northern Illinois by the way. There are a few good dealerships, and I think if you're really interested in this car, then it's worth taking the time to find a good dealership rather than going to the closest one that has an N and hoping for the best. There are very few vehicles in this price segment that offers this dedicated of a performance experience for such little money. It's a shame so many people are turned off by the dealership horror stories. With how much Hyundai has improved as a brand, I hope they work on their dealership network next.
The Sonata N is coming soon. Can't wait for your review.
It's 2am here in Australia, I'm laying in bed at night and I want to see the underside of some DD's but sadly none are available so I guess the Veloster N has to do
😞
Oof

And that happens alllll over the place too, sadly.
Watch out for anyone in a BMW! They are THE shitiest drivers here hands down.
Welcome to 'Merica.
You must have landed in Orange County. 😉 As the old saying goes: "I don't care WHERE you're going. I just want to know WHEN..."
What's the indicator? The check engine light? (From a BMW driver)
I own a PP VN so I'm probably a bit biased, I do disagree with a lot of what this guy says. This car gives a Type R a run for it's money for being almost FIFTEEN GRAND LESS considering the new special edition CTR price. All the money/R&D went into how this car drives, hardly anything else. You don't buy this thing for a nice cabin interior. It drives like the best FWD hatch all the while being FIFTEEN THOUSAND DOLLARS LESS. If you can, go out and drive one.
Another great video! This sounds like a fun car.
Thank you for this review. Really well done. You said it right about the best car for you. I had the same thoughts when I got it. It matches most of my needs.
As far as the understeer, I put a stiffer rear bar. It helped a bit. Going to add some more camber to the front with offset strut mount with offset bushing to add more caster. Hopefully that should help
When is Scott's first parole hearing? I'll give him a character reference.

Your dealership experience was really different from mine. They brought one out, adjusted the seats for my tall wife, handed me the keys and said see you soon. I had a similar dealership experience to yours at a local VW dealer, will never go back there.
That's one thing many reviewers miss when doing the Veloster, just how roomy it is in the front. I'm just a touch under 6ft and fit in most cars easily. My wife is 6'1", and there are a lot of cars where she simply does not fit. Most of the Subaru line up, much of the Mazda selection, Cr-Vs, Sedonas, Corollas and Jeeps, and surprisingly a lot of Dodge trucks, and we both get comfortable in a Golf but neither of us have head or leg room in a Jetta, those things are for tiny people. But she had tons of room in the Veloster.
I'd Love a Type R, but in all honesty, if I lived in the city right now, I'd already own a Veloster.
I’m 6’3” and I fit just fine in my 2016 Mazda 6 GT.
@@MegaTechpc oh yeah, Mazda 6 are great. She had no trouble with them, but the 3s and CX-5s are out. Thanks for the tip anyway.
Dude, not a hack job at all. Really informative and helpful.
Loved the video, as a veloster fanboy and owner I think you made a really respectable and good video, definitely subscribed and Gonna check out other videos
I’m with you on the electronic aids. On one hand, I don’t need them so I’d likely leave them off. But on the other hand, anything that helps new drivers learn stick I’m cool with. Manual transmissions are disappearing from the marketplace. I don’t want rev matching and easy launch and hill assist. But if it gets someone else into a manual I’m all for it.
Will we see it parked sideways in a household two car garage for style points ? Watch carefully for the next 23 minutes.
Yes, I need this video as I am deciding between GTI and Veloster Nword for my next daily.
I'd say go for the GTI. It's much more practical and you don't have to drop the N-word every time you talk about your car. Also, the GTI doesn't fart as much.
The Hyundai will last a lot longer than the GTI, so just weigh your options on it.
@@Wolf_Larsen you can turn off the farts ..
lol in germany if you spec a gti like I30N its about 10k more. Also the interoir of the I30N is way better than the one in the Veloster. Way more on par with the Golf. Nothing to decide over here
@@coflyer2949 Are Hyundais really more reliable than Volkswagens?
Became a Patreon of SG today! Someone told me new members will get a busted bolt signed by Scott from one of those wonderful Chrysler products he works on. All kidding aside,,, ty for the content you provide. This is a great channel and happy to contribute. So back to binge watching. I just may cancel my Netflix subscription.
Love your videos miss Scott
I firmly believe a lightly used focus st (base, or st3 package with recaros) from 2016+ with under 20k miles for $15,000, is still the most fun hatch for the money.
Clearly you haven't driven a Fiesta ST.
@@shouldbeasy9721 fiesta st are slightly underpowered feel slow after driving a focus
@@drzflyest4 It would appear you live in an area with lots of straight roads and minimal curves...
Until you're fiesta st makes 280whp :)
@@shouldbeasy9721 no i havent actually. Ive only been in a 290whp, 380 torque focus st with ridiculous pops, and a TON of handling modifications. Monster on the street, just a really fun daily driver. Yes the fiesta st can hold more boost on stock block and turbo, but the focus st with LIGHT mods is a ton of fun.
Don't worry I'll hop in and review a fiesta st soon. I just prefer the looks of the focus st. The fiesta looks incredibly weird to me lol
I absolutely love my N. I highly recommend test driving one. It is definitely not the best hot hatch...it is very skewed towards someone looking for a very specific driving experience who is okay with the tradeoffs. I was looking for that driving experience. It's a lot of car for the money and a total riot to drive. I am willing to bet that we are going to get a better Golf R and WRX STI partially thanks to this car, as an added bonus.
Yes the more competition the better!
Just curious, how is your N holding up? In the market for one right now, but the reliability of the motor concerns me.
The music selection is always so tight. Do you make the music? Love the videos!
Interesting review. I have an 18 Elantra Sport, with the dct. I couldn’t live with that N mode for daily driving, glad you can tweak the settings.
