I love my Veloster N. I've had it for a year now and it has been the most fun car to drive, and the 22000 miles I've put on it have been comfy as well. I've driven between Canada and Pennsylvania multiple times regularly, taken a trip from PA to Colorado to Texas then back to PA, all the while leaving the car run for 24 to 40 hours at a time, no issues. I haven't even had to change the brake pads yet. I do have to say though it does not drive like an NA car. It's a lot less jerky than any other turbo FWD car I've been in or driven, and has a lot more control with less wheel hop and the turbo lag doesn't really make you lose grip, but you can definitely feel and tell when the lag ends and the turbo is spooled up, it does throw you into the seat, but what Hyundai implemented does help. It's a much more smooth transition from lowend torque to turbo spool power than a lot other turbocharged cars out there. I definitely recommend this car for anyone looking for a super hot hatch. It's cheaper than the Golf GTI, cheaper than the Civic Type-R and it's faster than them. Don't believe me? Come to my neck of the woods take a ride in mine, we'll go racing. This car has been the best experience of a car I could ever hope for with the price of 30,000 USD. Honestly. I don't work for Hyundai, I used to hate them like most every other car enthusiast. They were ugly they were gross the original Genesis was..meh, fast drift car but..meh? The first gen Velosters were ugly and slow and not fun. This one though, it has to be in my opinion the best car money can buy; if not for the fact it's the cheapest flashy-looking fun car you can buy, but the fastest, and turns the most heads. Nobody knows what this car is in the wild, not even a lot of car enthusiasts. Can't tell you how many times I've been asked "Is that an Audi?" or "Wait.. that's a HYUNDAI!?" And people who do know what it is usually know what's up and still compliment it. And for those who see it as just another hatchback with a dumb spoiler usually go bug-eyed when you rev and lift, letting out those insane pops. I've had BMWs shake their heads when I ask to race them even though their cars are way faster than the Veloster N because this car is intimidating to those who don't really know what it is because usually when you hear those sounds coming from a hatchback it means business, and this car is no slouch. My brother has an F30 body BMW that's AWD and has more power than my car and I can keep up just fine even uphill. This car goes like stink for what it is, and handles like a dream no matter what your driving style is, comfort or raw speed. Hyundai really got their shit together with this car, I have no regrets from buying it.

A couple days ago I went to test drive a veloster and I love how it looks and feels inside and outside, but the ride was super rough. They're not much lower than other cars but have obscenely stiff suspension, the gas and brakes are very 0-100 instantly with the gas not responding at first then going full force, as well as the brakes trying to lock up when you blow on them.
I find that the hyundai 0-100 feel on its gas pedal comes from how it manages its automatics, it will always try to sit in the highest gear possible, which means when you step on the gas itll delay a long time
@@lurac5710 I guess, I've got a 2016 sentra now which is an automatic and rides only a little higher than the veloster I looked at, and it's so much smoother. The brakes feel sluggish then suddenly try to stop you on a dime, and the gas is basically the same way. The ride is just terrible especially compared to the sentra I have now which absorbs even some larger bumps
My favorite hot hatch has gotta be my custom built Mazda speed 3, built that as my first ever car, had a destroyed motor and transmission, interior was in the worst condition I'd ever seen, but I made it run, and it runs nice now, no burning oil, got a front mount intercooler and a cold air intake, catback exhaust system, tuned, sticky tires on it, light weight rims and an amazing sound system, it is so fun to drive honestly

Dude loved the review the Veloster is my dream car at the moment and honestly I’m working as hard as I can I’ve like the Veloster since the ugly days bc of the 3 doors no one knows exactly what Hyundai is and it’s awesome it’s like an underdog team and I’m excited when I get my Hyundai Veloster n key

Why did BMW didn’t do this back then?
@@rickyboy199554 They did. BMW has been using twin scroll turbos in certain engines like the N55 since 2011. I built an N55B30M0 (PWG) from a 2011 E90 335i, which I am pretty sure is the first car BMW implemented twin scrollies into.

It's like how the Mazdaspeeds we're back when they were new. Fully loaded and less then 28k.
No mazdaspeeds are way less reliable and this car is fully tech out. U drive it vs a ms u will tell the difference. Ms was partially equipped. Whereas this is a finished product that has the adequate power where u need it and no asthmatic turbo like the MS at the top. I have owned both
@makaroner the Hyundai is direct and port injected. I dont need to be told a stroy about someone else who owned it. Like i said i have owned both. They hyundai is a better driver's car no matter which way you look at it. There's a reason they compare it to the type R. To which it falls short but not by much besides power.

@makaroner hmm, I think your dad didn't send it often enough, Italian tune up you know what I mean?

I get the veloster is trying to feel sportier and going for a more responsive feel but it just doesn't have it. The brakes feel sluggish then suddenly try to stop you on a dime, and the gas is basically the same way. The ride is just terrible especially compared to the sentra I have now which absorbs even some larger bumps
