- In 2013 Chris Harris visited us and drove one of the first naturally aspirated Porsche 911s reimagined by Singer.
This year he came back, so we made a film.
Chris talks turbocharging with Founder, Rob Dickinson, explores the restoration process with CEO, Maz Fawaz and then heads to the Pacific Coast Highway with a whale tail.

Dear Singer, If you are listening please bring back the galleries for the cars on the website.
Part of me thinks some of the collectors don’t want their car photographed for some obnoxious reason
My guess is that they have done quite a few now and they may not want to advertise that to much. Big part paying this much is exclusivity.
Or porsche is sending cease and desist for every Pic with their logo lol
More please. This is what I want from a car show, more personal, more insider, more love.
💯
Forget Top Gear, Collecting Cars, this is Chris Harris doing what he was put on the planet to do ! Please can we have more of this type of content - I for one would be happy to pay ! ❤
I concur...
@@africanotomotiv 1000%! No matter who you are or what you do, what Singer does is life-affirming - and Chris tells the story perfectly 🙏 Thank you.
That is a great idea! You pay, we watch ;) I love Chris in this sort of content too!

Out of all the tuning, modifying, and rebuilding firms out there, Singer has got to be my favourite by a longshot. Genuine masterpieces
RUF do it better.
1000 times more elegant and desirable than that goofy transgender looking Aston Valour.
@@TheFlyingPlectrum nah
@@TheFlyingPlectrumagreed…That YellowBird was whipping ass WAAAAAYYYY back then…..They are Masters too!!!
If I won the Lotto straight to RUF for sure
@@HoratioHoodoo Yes. Alois Ruf is the OG. Singer just throws a load of car collecting hipster money and leather at an old 964 shell, cause they need their VIN numbers. Singer had a lawsuit from Porsche for the DLS car. Did you read the blurb at the bottom of the intro? "Singer is not associated with Porsche". Whereas RUF gets his shells from Porsche AG and his own VIN numbers.
It’s just so pretty that it genuinely hurts inside. Like an ache in your stomach. Absolute perfection.
You nailed it! It's frustratingly beautiful. I think I finally have an unambiguous answer to the question "what's your favorite car?"
Jesus those guys are intense. You can see why their vehicles are so well engineered and beautifully designed.
If a state beyond perfection exists, these geniuses at Singer are in hot pursuit of it. Incredible, stunning...It is an emotional experience just looking at these cars.
I am fortunate enough to have an acquaintance who took delivery of his Singer last year and I can verify the immaculate perfection of everything on this car. I literally laid on the ground to take pictures of the engine and trans and it truly is ultimate craftsmanship and attention to detail.
Never ever forget the people who put these beautiful pieces of machinery together!
Absolute craftsmanship!
👍🇦🇺
I EMOTIONALLY want a Singer. These guys SO get it.
Lucky enough to have been following Chris way before the infamous first Singer video, a video that I come back to from time to time just as motivation material for myself.
I remember distincly how Rob described his obsession with the perfect 911 in his mind, and Chris impatiently asking the next question, confused and amazed at how deep the rabbit hole was at the time, cause nobody was doing it, nobody would even dare to "reimagine" anything, let alone one of the most iconic cars ever.
A lot of imitations have come and gone, but Singer is the original, the OG resto mod, and always will be ahead of everyone else.
And even if now the yellow-ish, graffiti painted, shed became a pristine factory with pure white floors and walls, I'm glad to see Rob and Chris did not change a bit, they obsessively nerd over the same stuff, just like 11 years ago.
Thank you both for being who you are.
Thanks Singer for fueling our 911 obsession.
incredible! You are a musician in your early 40s, building your own hotrod Porsche. You drive around and register positive feedback. People want a car like that too. The birth of Singer. what a development! Congratulations to the SINGER team.
I have never aligned with a design language as well as singers finished works. 10 times out of 10 I fall in love with the endless amount of detail and choices made by these gentlemen. Bravo.
I know there's no point in me contributing my opinion on these cars because I could never afford one, but I will anyway. The thing I like about Rob's cars the most is that as special as they are, they never come across as 'precious', so you can actually drive them like you normally would in a Porsche. I like that.
All I can say is. Just watched the video, and I’m about to go grab the keys to my Porsche and just drive it just for the sake of going through the gears, listening to the engine note on my back, and watching those front fender arches as it eats the road. What a fantastic company Singer is!
Legally that is not a Porsche, just read the warnings on screen
Automotive Perfection. Thank You.
The car is flawless. Harris is back where he belongs, which means I'm a kid in a candy store. Love and appreciate what you both do. Thank you.
I found out about singer through Chris’s video 11 years ago. I bet he is responsible for huge chunk of singer being so popular. Plus I really appreciate how Chris just wears shorts. It’s exactly what I’d do.
Most folks will take the car as it is, but the guy behind the name is far more interesting. The man is cranked, clearly has a relationship to substance, and in such a sterile time. That is without a doubt the best part of the whole endeavor. The eccentricity of a man creating perceived perfection as he suffers customers absorbed in a self-curated gospel of purity towards a gorgeous bastardization
Wow. I can't believe it's 11 years since I saw the (!) Singer presentation clip that still makes me tingle today like it did way then. A song or a painting can so easily transmit an emotion. But you guys do this in an authentically unique manner with a car. And it definitely has to do with your passion and this pure, healthy obsession with detail. You start with something beautiful to look at and don't rest until you make it work, move, sound, smell and feel at least as beautifully. That's a life lesson. Thank you for the experience!
Singer’s brilliance is his restraint. It looks like a proper 911, plus a little more, but only just so. The Turbo looks like a Turbo, like a factory Turbo, and not a cartoon.
Just wonderful. Years ago when I stumbled across Singer I thought they should do a 930 Turbo...and here they are with what looks to be 9 tenths of perfection.
What beautiful machines, and so glad to see that Chris has the honour with this video. Thanks Singer
Lost count on how many times I’ve watched the original video! Great to see you all again.
What a fantastic journey and keep up the stunning work!
This is absolute Porsche heaven. I love what they do. Working here looks like a dream job. I hope to see a Singer 911 some day. Thank you.
I am a dye-in-the-wool Corvette guy that is fortunate to own a '79 and an '18. I never paid much attention to Porsches, until about 2014 when I first saw a Singer in a magazine. It's a car that I'll never be able to own, but I will always be struck by their beauty and engineering.
I get you...while I enjoy my R129 MB I can't help but watch these vids just to appreciate the art and effort of Singer .
You don't need a singer, get any 964 and do a couple of mods to it. It will give you 95% of the experience for 1/5th of the price
This is awesome. I'm a drag racer. Originally Pontiacs then switched to big 4 digit power bmws in the early-mid 00s. And even I can appreciate this amazing machine. It's somehow timeless and modern at the same time. Everything is so well thought out and executed perfectly. Even the power rating and delivery is probably tuned for linear, smooth powerband that is also exciting.
It's hard to describe an early 930 with 620hp.I think Rob is on the right path building what every kid wanted a Porsche 930 Turbo.
Love the updated classic Turbo. So refined. Singer basically extended its timelessness even more. Any tuned Turbo with 500hp or more is enough GT car to satisfy anyone for many years to come.
That was something else. Chris complements these guys for producing a better product, id also say chris is producing even better products.
The architecture of the singer turbo is heavenly. If I can only have one car for the rest of my life to drive the singer turbo is it. Well done. Porsche should be proud. It's eccentric, as it should be.
Great to have Chris back on screen. He brings a mix of everything us petrol heads want in a presenter/driver/reviewer. Great to see you Chris 👍🏻
My.goodness.. the colour, the shapes.. incredible. Can't wait to hear it at FOS 😍
The level of obsession with handmade craftsmanship is like what you'd find in Japan, pre industrial revolution. It's crazy that people are doing this today and in cali of all places
Was just playing this in the background and then two minutes in... "I know that voice..." The legend himself
Chris’ enthusiasm, and presentation is just the best, I had a smile on my face all the way through the piece, the cars are something else, anybody who is into cars will never get enough of Chris Harris, especially on full chat through a corner on opposite lock, legend!
What a video for all us Porsche geeks. Love it.
Beauty and menace in perfect balance, I'd really, really like one! Off the scale passion, real passion not modern pretend, contrived passion! Thank you all.
Nice to see Chris again. Those rear wheels give me the fizz!! Sorry for the pre-Chris Top Gear reference. :-) A Singer Porsche is the stuff of dreams. It's refreshing to listen to people who know cars.
The only thing wrong with "perfection" is, it's a VERY temporary status if you actually USE it. Drive a few hundred miles, and perfection is lost. That's NOT a bad thing! There's at least 50 Porsche 911 reimagineers, and most improve on the DRIVING experience. I think most of us would be deliriously happy with ANY of them... Singer is still the lead dog tho.... LUV seeing Chris so enthusiastic!
Prime example of cars being art.
These cars are so deserving of the praise they see. What an awesome symphony of craftmanship!
I watch this video at least 3x a day. The colors of the cars are amazing!!!!! The two blue colors @ 1:29 are beautiful!!!!
Yes yes and yes. Chris harris is back with content that i ve been losing hair to see. Steering feel, mechanical grip, turbo lag, the noise, the feel. Lets go man. Cant wait for more❤
Was watching 'The Life of a Japanese Joinery Woodworker'. This guy says perfectly what creating masterpieces is all about: My creations are not at their peak when they are brand new, nor do they deteriorate over time.
As soon as I saw that 911 drifting around the corner, I thought 'That's Chris Harris'
Unmistakable...
It's Harris.Perfection. Who else would match Tuthill and Singer?
Just when you think you have seen the most beautiful car ! This one comes along ! What a phenomenal job!!
Chris is a perfect fit with Singer, as he’s such an obsessive when it comes to the details. I remember him obsessing about the door handle on the 992 for 5 minutes in a video once, and how the closing door sounds ‘just right’.
I am not a Porsche guy, but the combination of art and engineering in these bespoke cars is amazing
Every time i see a Singer video, Catherine Wheel's "Backwards Guitar" song plays in my head.
It's soo nice seeing Chris do a video again. I've really missed the CC podcast as of late. But this...wow, just wow. I remember the his original vid all those years ago which introduced me to Singer and it's amazing to see how far they've come as a company. That Green Turbo is just to die for.
Had exactly the same thought.
I'll take any opportunity to watch Chris Harris deliver content.
He's supremely qualified for it.
It is lovely to hear Chris talk Singer cars. If I would have got money enough, would have to have one, maybe turbo 911❤
Stunning.
The shot showing with the ocean b-roll, Italian job esque , stuff to dream about and make core memories. Thanks Chris and Singer for the 2024 equivalent of staring at your bedroom poster for hours on end
Wow! That green turbo is perfection. Love what Singer is doing, just wish I had the money to buy in myself 😂 So good to see Chris Harris doing what he does best again, Top Gear was just a sideshow in my opinion, well done 👍🏻 Can’t wait to see what Singer does after the turbos
The ventilation through the whale tail ...in the top and then out of the car as opposed to just into the engine compartment....is such a obvious modification for the turbo.....brilliant
The way Rob talks about the cars, you can actually feel the passion!
Chris Harris walks around like he’s ready to pummel someone. 😂
What a stunning piece of marketing turned art. LOve it.
Pure passion under that roof. Breath taking
I’m a huge Catherine Wheel fan as well as Porsche fan so it makes sense I’m obsessed with these.
Stunning! Love the colour of the interior.
Best car y'all have done so far, aesthetically speaking. I'm sure it's sublime to drive as well.
"How do you get this perfect finish Every Time?" Just look at hall Walls. Paint Booths Walls are Shiny Reflecting!! looks at it. Bravo
Chris is back … yes he’s back … Now we just need Collecting Addicts back every week and the world will be whole again :)
I could try to type something nice and flowery but instead I think FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAK sums it up pretty well. Incredible.
I'm part of that team it's a pleasure
Singer cars are absolutely master peace ! 😲 All the parts are perfect, details and paint job are just incredible, a lot of luxuries brands can learn about precision and perfect finish like singer do… I’m absolutely in love with the way of they imagine an create the cars. 🤩
Wonderful car gents, you do just KEEP NAILING IT. CH does a good job of explaining what you have achieved, it's relivance ...just like the first time. Bravo to all involved. Sincerely wish I could have one.
Wow Rob looks like he just hovered up a whole rack. Acting that way too! 😂 cars are without words and are utter perfection! Well done to all their success and staff.
So much to love about this company, and I think they’re having an increasing influence on where the overall sportscar market is headed in years to come
Maz and Rob are such different characters and both essential to the finished product.
I would love to hand my 964 to Rob and his team for my dream build. My personal opinion is Singer makes a very good car....perfect!
I started watching this and thought this is just wrong without Chris. 5 seconds later Chris’s voice over comes in and I’m a super happy camper.
The work they do at Singer is just stunning. I mean they really GET what these old Porsches were about. And they transform it into 2024. Incredible.
@dr.koch, the old Porsches were about driving pleasure that a hardworking man might reasonably aspire to attain one day. Singers are $500k+++ up, multi year waiting list, and most will be garage queens. They're still absolutely fabulous, i won't argue that.
That car , in that colour is absolutely stunning !!!
I think I had a crisis when I saw the view over the rear haunches!
Wow !
Thank you for this video. This is nice. The cool thing is I live very close to the factory that’s in Gardena and I’ve seen a couple of cars drive around to test drive I guess. And I want to say thank you to Chris Harris. And I’ve met the ownerand he’s a real cool guy you guys and he is the person that encouraged me to get back into Porsche’s when I met him at the Palos Verdes concourse, but I don’t remember the year. Well, thank you for this video and I hope it makes sense because I’m talking into my phone in the comment section.
That green is amazing! until I saw the blue one....OMG
This is peak motor journalism.
Chris, the world needs you back........ IMMEDIATELY.
Singers quality is amazing.
Absolute OEM+ perfection.
Good to see you guys here now! Hope the channel never stops growing bigger! 👏🏻😎
Loved the video, thanks a lot! 🗿👍🏻
In a world where most things are built to a cost or a timescale it’s refreshing to see quality and craftsmanship put front and centre of the business. I guess even from the outside we could see that was true from Singer’s output, but this video has really showcased it.
Quality comes at a cost, but other industries could learn a lot from prioritising it in the way Singer have.
Part of me is still slightly sad that 964s have to die for a Singer 911 to come to life, but if they have to die, at least they’re becoming something this special.
I wonder if Singer could do an homage to the Silver B&B rainbow Porsche. That Targa stands out in my memory from the early car magazine covers. It was a superstar spec with the vivid blue leather interior. I love what Singer has accomplished by really believing "Everything is Important ". The details, man.
Saw my first Singer parked up on the street a few weeks ago. Saw it parking from a distance and had to walk over in hope it was the real thing. Sure was. What a thing of beauty. ❤
Absolutely fabulous video.I enjoyed every second of this and the cars are magnificent.Just love the turbo(masterpiece)Thankyou.
Absolutely mind numbing commitment to outright precision and excellence.
Awesome job, guys. Love the recreation track vid
Perrrrrrfect collab
a very simple THANK YOU!!!!
Incredible reimagining of the classic 911. Good heavens it’s beautiful.
Singer Porsche 911 builds are just on another level, Happy tenth anniversary 🎉🎉😊😊.
Would love to se Singer build EV 911 , . Keep up with great work
Awesome cars, wonderful people and great cinematography!
Fantastic commitment to perfection
I loved watching that…Subscribed.Thankyou Chris and The Singer Family🇦🇺Love from Australia
still to this day, with literally hundreds of companies that copied this, singers look the best. The arches, the stance, the ride height. Everything.
Values are through the roof. Incredible cars.
Great video and unbelievable cars👍
