I love how all of these characters have a set personality in their own little Dorkly universe. Like Sonic is consistent here with his low brow series, Sonic for Hire. Mario is also very consistent with each short.

I like the side characters of the Sonic world. If Sega actually utilized them better like in the Sonic Comics, maybe they wouldn’t be hated so much.
Right? They tried to rebrand in 2010, but the characters got even more irrelevant from there. Personally, I just want a new spin on Sonic Heroes.

Plus the shutdown and removal of AM2R from the game awards for Best Fanmade Content or whatever category, while the people making Sonic fangames instead get a job for their efforts. Nintendo hasn't been treating Metroid right since... geeze, since about the release window for Wii. That's about 2 console generations ago, and the Wii/PS3/360 one was abnormally long so it might even be somewhat comparable to... a little under 3 console generations maybe?

Uprising is goddamn amazing. It has wonky controls, but it's easy to get used to it, a great weapon system to customize how you want to play it, and an easy to use difficulty meter that ramps up the game how you like it. Plus humor, memorable characters, and Hades even predicted the future! We got time till we get the next game, so sit back and enjoy the ride! See you in 21 years my demonic buddy! Nintendo Only Cares About Popular Franchises
If Nintendo were ever to actually own Sonic, these would be some of the pros and cons:
Pros: Sonic would have a lot of actually good games(because Nintendo knows how to treat their franchises).
Cons: Sonic’s fan games and music soundtracks would be taken down.
And Sonic Colours/Lost World would be our example of how the games would all probably go

Yeah, Nintendo keeps their franchises simple. Nothing for good ol' Mario but simple 2D platformers, 3D platformers, sports spin-offs, RPGs, Paper RPGs, Olympic Crossovers, kart racing, Mario Maker, and all those dang Mario Parties! And of course, its small cast of Mario, Luigi, Peach, Bowser, Bowser Jr, Kamek, Daisy, Waluigi, the Koopalings, Fawful, Starlow, Toad, Toadsworth, Toadette, *Captain* Toad, King Boo, E. Gadd, Pauline, Rosalina, and of course we can't forget that Wario, DK, and Yoshi all have their own spin-off series full of other characters, too! Not to mention parallel worlds, time travel, and potential tie-ins to other beloved franchises. WHO COULDN'T FOLLOW ALL THAT?!

Maybe, but I think it's ridiculous that Sonic's had good games, too, even in recent years, and people either completely ignore them, or worse, group them into the bad games due to their own inflexible expectations, and just say sucking is Sonic's standard. Even though, in the grand scheme of things, there's only really a handful of Sonic games that are objectively terrible, everything else gets shat on because it's not specifically what people want. Sonic's got one of the hardest to please fanbases in the world, and because of that, the series struggles finding what it wants to be. Then, people write it off as Sonic Team not caring, or just having no idea what Sonic's about any more, not realizing how hard they're actually trying. To me, that's not funny; that's fuckin' sad...

Am I the only one who finds Sonic of all characters ridiculous in a racing game where he isn't running? He could literally win every race on foot. I swear, the idea to have him drive was just to make it seem fair that he couldn't win every race. Personally I wish we had a sonic racing game whether it's like multiplayer on Sonic 3 or like the running mini game in Sonic Mania. Even the multiplayer in Sonic Adventure 2 where there were foot races with obstacles were more fun. Besides, Sonic hasn't technically done Kart racing in his games. Riding hover boards and driving full size race cars aren't Karts, but I see the idea.

I agree. I mean, Sega's games are... questionable. Some are good, some are bad. And they allow all fan games to exist, which is neat. Nintendo has strong streak of solid games going, so they have nothing to fear from fan games, because there is no way, any of them will be comparable to their level (as opposed to Sega). And yet, they apparently, they murder any fan game there is. Seriously, why? As much as people criticize Sega for their games, they allow all Sonic fan games to be made, and many of them are way past cool.

Some of the transformations seem to have gained a mind of their own as well, so Metal Mario, Dry Bowser and Pink Gold Peach apparently are their own characters too.

Mario 06 on the other hand.
it couldve been great if the controls worked. for example in sonic 64, all of sonics attacks were fast and accurate and it only took a few minutes to get used to the controls and hours to master it. there are many speedrunning techniques that dont break the game but are still fun like the backwards dash jump. but mario on the other hand just moves as slow as an anvil and he looses any momentum since his jumps auto targets all enemies and the level design is super linear. even the star is broken since it is meant to last a limited time but becasue they werent bother to code it in it cause the game to be super easy while frustrating.
sonic 64:9/10 couldve used some boss variety instead of 3 bowsers
mario 06: 3/10 while trash it still has pretty decent music and it is enjoyable if youre with friends
