Yeah Ash kinda sucks having non evolved Pokémon for like 2/3 of the entire series. When you see a level 47 totodile, you usually think of Pokémon mystery dungeon. But either way, another Joe banger, and it was a great start to my day since it’s my birthday. Much love as always, and very excited to see the rest of the can ash win series

But I do think it’s about time they replace ash. You can only be 10 years old for so long
It always erked the fuck out of me in the anime. They literally give you all three starters in the two first seasons and I understand the whole "it's up to them" thing but it's just absolute wasted potential and becomes tiresome after awhile too.
You can say it's the power of friendship all you want but facts are facts. Your non evolved mons are shit compared to their fully evolved forms and the only reason you manage to win at all is plot armor

These are a fun watch! I look forward to Hoenn and hope the others are possible; most of the runs will probably be less agonizing, since more of his Pokémon start to evolve over time.
I think they should be possible. I’m already working on the Hoenn sprites, but it’ll probably be a few months till part three comes out.

It is funny how Cyndaquil one-shotted both Jasmine’s Pokemon in your rematch. I like to think that here and in the anime, he had something that would be like the beta version of Blaze we see with Infernape.

There is an episode in johto where they encounter Sudowoodo. I can't remember when, im rewatching the show now, and I started hoenn last week. But Johto does have a Sudowoodo episode.
Ash's Cyndaquil (Crystal) - Lazy, gentle, can't use Flamethrower not before warming up.
Sunny's Cyndaquil/Quilava (HeartGold Nuzlocke) - Is heavily breathing all the time, the heavily traumatized starter Pokémon, and is friendly with every Pokémon in Sunny's team, he mastered Fire Blast and did Voltorb Flip with Sunny, the survivor and MVP of the dreaded Whitney battle.
Togepi/ Togetic (Supposedly Misty's friend, but was given as a special occasion for the Nuzlocke, warrior of the Morty battle)

Were it me, I would’ve just Time Capsuled the freebie Kanto Starters and Pikachu (as mint as I could get away with) from a fresh file of Yellow and used Charmander as a desperation option had Pikachu and Chikorita somehow (somehow!) not be enough to muscle past Falkner on their own.
8:10 - Mind-blowing how closely you’re managing to sync up modded game to show so well. I would’ve just learned Coin Case and PC exploits to have Cyndaquil and Totodile pre-benched on a “fresh” file and pulled them out after clearing the Gym before Ash were to put them on roster.

It does. In the early gens light ball doubled pikas special attack, and then later generations included regular attack too. But my pikachu was doing way to much damage to not have a boost.

Love the videos but the ash Gary race happened on the way to mahogany town. Not on the way to goldenrod. Ashs chikorita had evolved by that point.

So any Tweeks you make to a rom will automatically consider it a rom hack? And if so would that mean you can't transfer Pokemon to different gen's in the series?

I’m sure there are other ways to do it, but I did it with the decomp files described here.
It take a bit of time to get everything working, but with a bit of patience you can edit all sorts of things

@@NuzlockeJoe Yes the blaziken & keckleon could be replaced by a hitmonlee and magmar/Typhlosion w/ fire punch and a Girafarig (confusion)/ghastly line (lick/hypnosis). Don’t get me wrong I’ve always wanted to play in regards of the anime so I truly love your product!

You’re right, that plot Lance fight was 100% plot armor, I’m lucky it worked out tbh. But I was so tired of the elite 4 at that point, I just wanted to be done. The will fight killed me

Really? No I didn’t know that. I haven’t talked to that shuckle guy in a long time, so I don’t remember what he says, just that he gives you a shuckle
@Nuzlocke Joe I don't remember what exactly he says but he says something along the lines of "[rival] stole a Pokémon from me, and I'm still rattled by it. Can you please take this Pokémon to keep it safe?" before giving you the Shuckle, and the next time you see the rival after that is when he first has his Sneasel, which is also way too low level to have come from Mt. Silver, so either he bred it from a Sneasel he got elsewhere (which why would he do that) or more likely that's the Pokémon that was stolen from the Shuckle guy.

Thanks! In the code, I just changed the rival battles so that he started with eevee, and then after the second fight he had umbreon every time.

Machop- Trade for Abra in Department Store, comes with Karate Chop

Same way I did it with the other gym leaders, following the method described in the team aquas hideout RUclips channel tutorials

To be honest, I actually wish that Pokemon Crystal incorporated anime events into the games in the same manner as Yellow. For instance, have Kris/Gold start off with a Pikachu that follows you and make all of the Johto starters available in the same routes/towns Ash got them in the anime. Also, update the wild pokemon/gym leader`s pokemon to match the anime.

How did you transfer all those pokemon from yellow so early?
I cheated and used PK Hex. I couldn’t wait until I got to Ecrutreak because I had to use them in gym battles before then, so I just imported the whole box of Pokémon.
