The last leg of this years fly fishing league match was here. It was not as exciting an end as last year as our fate was already decided. The fishing at Bewl has been poor for want of a more colourful adjective. Coming off the back of a tough session on Chew I was not looking forward to it.
The hard fact was I was hoping for one or maybe two chances over the seven hour match.
The AMFC is a fantastic gateway into competition fly fishing. If you want to get involved consider joining one of the Major Clubs.

Incredible cinematography. Great editing 👌
Glad you enjoyed it Paul.
Tough day on the water. Drone footage was superb. Nicely done avoiding a blank
Just a bit of luck on the day pal.
Beautiful footage. I'm sure it looked different from your viewpoint. Better luck next time Lindsay. Thanks for taking me with you. 🙂👍
Wry welcome pal.
super footage from the drone excellent Lindsay
Beautiful photography brother.
Thank you so much Brian, shame the fishing was not better.
Thanks for this video lindsay we all have tough days makes the good days better 😊
Absolutely 💯
Beautiful footage lyndsay, keep up the great content 🎣🏴
Thank you! Will do!
Love the drone footage at the start. Looks like a beautiful water. You mention Hanningfield, is the fishing still good there do you know? Surely it being an all method fishery doesn’t change too much? Thanks.
Not been for over a decade pal. I am told it is not bad.
Worth watching for the drone footage. Great
It was the highlight to be fair 🤣
A beautiful but tough fishing day. The friends, meal topped it off.
Makes it worth the effort pal. I really enjoy the social side of it.
Hard days fishin bud, we get them, if it was easy we’d get bored Brilliant drone footage 👍👍🏴
Been a tough back end could do with a good day.
@@lindsayiflyfish get yourself back up to the Lake, fishing really well
@@LOCHLEVEN12 Had a chance to be there this week but busy with work who have been very fair to me recently. I might try to get to Grafham before I pack the Loch Style kit away.
cracking looking water
It was not on the best form pal, very tough.
Fished Bowl over 25 years ago when it was part of ScottishPower, it fished amazing back then. How do you affiliate to club.
Where are you located Brian?
Lindsay would a 7wt rod cast a 7/8 wt airflow line
I fished the practice day, but not the competition so the opposite from you, it was very hard I managed 2 fish though.
Well done some guys that did both days said it had picked up 🤣
@@lindsayiflyfish I’m not sure our captain felt that after not a touch on the 2nd day. I’m back there next week, hopefully picked up by then.
@@danielleadams7938 I will keep my fingers crossed for you, the fish are there they just need to switch on.
Hi Lindsay do you by any chance know a club that operates in North West England? I’d love to compete
Where are you exactly?
Manchester
@@imchrisme5514 Not a million miles from Carlisle that has a great angling club. They mostly concentrate on Rivers though. I think your best bet would be Rutland Water Fly Fishers. rwff.org.uk/
Derbyshire had a team this year, and seemed to be struggling for numbers, don’t know if that’s an option.
