The NFL is far and away the most popular sport in America these days, which can make it somewhat easy to forget that it is still relatively young in the grand scheme of things.
Yes, there have been some traces of “professional football” that date back to the late 1800s, but it was still largely informal.
And the first Super Bowl, which has become one of the most well-known sporting events in the world,
    wasn’t even played until 1967.
As a result, there are still a dozen NFL franchises that have NEVER won the big game.
So-how about we look forward at 2023 and see which of them has the best and worst chances to rewrite the history books?

The 22/23 Falcons lost 10games, 4 were 3 points or less, 3 were 4-6 points(and 1 at 8 points). That was 7(8 with TD+2pt) "one score games" out of 10 they lost. If they could of won half of the one score games they lost last year, they would of been 10-7/11-6. Their Defense on paper is better than has been in a very long time(Falcons Fan since 1987). I have high hopes with the vastly improved Defense being able to hold a lead/give up fewer points. While I always hope for a Super Bowl win from them, that is a stretch, but winning the division and a playoff game would be huge.

And the saints games were even closer than that for the most part. Top 10 defense, no qb and couldn't find the endzone. Carr about to take the south for the next few seasons while Atlanta continue to find new ways to lose in the 4th. That defense improved dramatically, I'll give you that. And London may be a bit underestimated also. But Ridder isn't the guy. And as much as I hate it (cause I loved to watch him in college) I think Pitts isn't gonna develop as advertised. That rb room is gonna give most defenses a headache, no doubt. But I just don't think atlanta is closer than New Orleans to winning the south just yet

@@saintgreen8682aI’m a falcons fan and I’ll say you got a better QB, sure. But let’s remember, Carr ain’t getting any younger. Man is 32 as it is. He has a ton of a great stats. But a low 80s passer rating, 3500 yards, and 14 ints last year doesn’t inspire confidence. Meanwhile, Michael Thomas is 30 years old and should be nearing the end of his peak window before declining rapidly. Alvin Kamara…let’s face it Alvin is a terrible person but that’s not the point. Alvin is quite literally at the end of the general prime for running backs. He’s never had a thousand hard season and considering how much he is used down in NA…his shelf life isn’t much longer. Your pff grades on defense for last year were pretty bad to be frankly honest. I do expect Jamaal Williams to go off, but again, just like Alvin Kamara, Jamaal ain’t young for a running back anymore.

    • @saintgreen8682
      @saintgreen8682 10 месяцев назад

@@regalcartoon3952 hey I can't argue with a few of those points. And I'm aware Thomas and Kamaras windows are closing fast. Alvin's never had a thousand yard RUSHING season, correct. But that's because his hands have always been too busy to chiefly let him run it. Last year sucked because Dalton and Allen didn't use him the way they should've at all. Now we have williams, whose definitely about to take over the hand offs so Alvin can get open like he always has. If only for the next season or 2. The names you didn't mention however excite me the most. Shaheed, Olave, Miller, Johnson.... and that's just the offense. The only thing my defense lacked on last season was take aways. I was pretty satisfied everywhere else. Jordan and Davis will start to decline eventually but those dudes have unquestionably gotten better with age thus far. I'd say we both have an equal chance of being right or wrong here. One things for sure, I'll be at the saints/falcons game come November, hope to see you there. I'd stake a beer or 2 on this argument

    1. The Browns have Amari Cooper and Elijah Moore, and a top 5 OL in the league. They also have Za’Darius Smith, Ogbo Okoronkwo, Dalvin Tomlinson, Denzel Ward, Greg Newsome, and now Juan Thornhill.
    2. Browns have the most salary cap space in the NFL (over $30 million) after contract restructuring.
    3. Everything this preseason points to Watson looking like his former self. The last time the Browns had competent QB play, we beat the Steelers on the road and almost took out the Chiefs to make the AFC Championship.
Not saying we are legit contenders until Deshaun proves it in the regular season, but this is straight up not factual reporting.

I've already said what I thought about them, they are easily a contender for best offense in the leauge and are a side contender for a top 5 defense(San Fransico should still have this title pretty nondebatably(for a record in terms of points allowed SF had damn near a touchdown less than any other team, 5 points less than number 2 in the Jets and 6 points over everyone else)) this is a scary team and Id never wanna see them
      2. Minnesota Vikings: 9-8
Being 11-0 in 1 score games gave them that 13-4 record, make the one score game record closer to 500 and they are automatically out of the playoffs at 8-9(Lions would have taken div title) I think they got better this off season but they will end up worse
      3. Green Bay Packers: 6-11
This team isnt as bad as people wanna claim but its still a rebuild, Love looks inconsistant but he can be trained out of it. The weapons here also young but we could see a resurgence, just not this year
      4. Chicago Bears: 5-12
KInda like the Browns Im not drinking this koolaide. This team might have been the best 3-14 team ever, but why the fuck would you brag about that you still went 3-14

You know how bad they probably wanted to put them at 12 but knew it was so unbelievable, but to keep the Watson haters happy they put them at 9

The Bengals and Bills are legit contenders and the only two teams in the AFC that appear to be able to hold their own vs. the Chiefs. The Jags are a dark horse but still maybe not quite there. The Browns are a sleeper pick. The Chargers have Herbert and the talent but they will find a way to lose in strange ways like they always do. Defense and Oline are shaky. Bad combination. None of the NFC teams are even close to contention. Marginal play-off teams at best.

I would put Jags ahead of the Vikings and Chargers. The Vikings went one and done against an inferior team in the playoffs and have lost quite a few good players in the offseason, and had a negative point differential last year. The Chargers have a lot of stars, but basically all of their big stars got injured at some point last season, so there's no guarantee that the team can stay healthy this year, not to mention Herbert seems to fall apart in big moments given he couldn't get a single TD against the Jags during the second half of the wild card round. This is also ignoring the fact that the Jags are in one of the easiest divisions in football, and there's a very strong chance either the Jags get the 1 seed and get a bye, or lock up the division with several games to spare and start resting starters the last couple of weeks of the season.
Although I do applaud you for not putting the Bills at #1 because I'm pretty sick of the Bills being "the superbowl favorites" every year for the past 3 years despite stinking it up in the playoffs every time

@J_I_B. that high up is confusing since tps craps on them alot, but they lost pat p who got burnt by Isaiah hodgins and others. Za'darius was good for half the season then just stopped trying. Only real defensive loss was Dalvin Tomlinson. Cook was explosive at times but he also was tackled for loss alot(I believe he was tackled for loss the most) But atleast you didn't mention losing thielen who couldn't get open when jj was double and tripled.

The Titan's problem wasn't at quarterback, it was injuries. They were dominating the AFC south until Tannahill got injured, they tanked after that. Now with a deep threat with in Hopkins, they're likely to win the division again. The Jags barely beat them in that last game, and that was with Dobbs at quarterback in his 2nd game for the team.

The Jags should be considered the favorites in their division, but improving upon last season's 9-8 record won't be easy. The team didn't exactly upgrade many positions, though the arrival of recently reinstated wideout Calvin Ridley, who was suspended for all of 2022 for violating the NFL's gambling policy, could make for an exception.
The big question is whether Jacksonville can continue winning the turnover battle at a high rate (plus-five in turnover differential) despite having a defense that ranked 24th in yards allowed last season. The Jaguars were even worse against the pass (28th) and did pretty much nothing to address their secondary
