  • Throughout NFL history, at the end of every single NFL season since the merger, a super bowl champion is crowned. However, when there is a winner, there must always be a loser. So in this video, I thought it would be interesting to look at the best NFL teams to lose the super bowl, and determine who is the best of the worst. Anyway, if you enjoyed this video at all then like and comment if you want, and you can even subscribe if you think I've earned it.
    These are the best teams that haven't won a super bowl, so please comment down below which NFL football team you think is the best team to never win it all. Although teams like the 2007 patriots won the super bowl with a similar core, other teams from NFL throwback and NFL film videos like the 1990 Bills and 1998 Vikings, weren't as fortunate. So hopefully you're enjoying the channel and like the American football videos on any NFL team that hasn't won the super bowl.

    • @broncojuan
      @broncojuan Год назад +6

      The thing everybody forgets about that team is how they limped into that SB. They (the Broncos) were the #4 ranked defense that year. They led the league in sacks, and were 3rd in rushing yards allowed. However both Von Miller and Elvis Dumervil (who combined for 29.5 sacks) were out of that game as was Derek Wolfe who was 3rd on the team in sacks, and was considered their best run stuffer on the d-line. To top it off All Pro LT Ryan Clady was also out of that game.
      I told everybody that the only way the Broncos could win would be for them to score first and keep that Seahawks defense on their heals, but as soon as the opening snap flew over Peyton's head and the Legion was spotted a 2 point lead, that game was over.

I have always said that is the reason the Giants won that year because the Giants knew they could beat the Pats and almost did that last game. The 89 team was far superior to the 90 team. The 89 team was GOAT and 90 49ers regressed to just great. Perhaps due to Super Bowl fatigue or the will to win to spite Bill Walsh faded after the SB XXIV blowout win. The 1990 49ers 14-2 record was achieved with some very close wins. Their offense and Montana were also not as potent as the year before. They were pretty much equal to the NY Giants in 1990, as evidenced by their two close games. Bills might beat 49ers in SB XXV if they made it, with or without Montana.

    I wrote this same comment on a KTO video several weeks ago: the fact that the 2007 Patriots’ level of play took a major dip in quality during the postseason says a lot about how much they were truly capable of. And it’s very weird to say that considering they had prime Tom Brady.

    • @BrendanPappas
      @BrendanPappas Год назад

      @Fries I’d say they looked the best against Jacksonville but should’ve crushed them even worse considering they routed the NFC’s top-seeded Cowboys during the regular season. Then Brady played like absolute ass during the AFC Championships and the team got bailed out due to Philip Rivers’s injury (which is no disrespect to him at all, btw. He’s a trooper for playing in that game).
      They should have run away with the first two games and then scored even more in the Super Bowl considering they put up 38 against the Giants in the regular season. They’re lucky they didn’t have to play the Colts again that postseason because that was only a year after the 18-point Manning comeback win over Brady. Honestly they could have lost to them again.
      Also, have we had another conversation on a separate RUclips video before? I feel like I recognize your tag.

    I know this video is for year specific line ups, but if I had to give this to a franchise as a whole, it'd be the Chargers. Especially from the early 80s to the late 2000s. I legitimately think the Chargers organization is cursed. It's as if they were abandoned by god, left to whither away some of the best players in the league. Hell, Rivers never even made a super bowl let alone won one.
    As Jon Bois put it,
    "The chargers are inherently meaningless, Nothing they have ever achieved signified anything real or abstract. How the Chargers are doing this year has absolutely nothing to do with how they will do next year. They present no pattern, theme, trend, or story. Their name is appropriate. They are a formless abstraction.

    My poor Vikings have the 4th most wins since the Superbowl era began yet...😢
    IMHO The 98 Vikings were by far the best team I've ever seen. I even had a Packers fan tell me during that season that Moss was the greatest Wide Receiver he'd ever seen play because at 6'4" with 4.2 speed he simply either caught each ball or got a pass interference call in his favor! Moss was catching 50 yard bombs on a weekly basis and had 17 touchdowns as a Rookie. That said Cris Carter was my favorite Receiver because he NEVER dropped a ball. That man could catch daylight before it hit the Earth and keep it dark a few or minutes.
    Also, the running backs name was Robert, not Randy. Also no doubt in my mind not having John Randle for the NFC Championship made a huge difference.

      I don't think *ANY* Bills' teams should be on this list because if anyone knew anything about Marv Levy, they'd have known that it was next to impossible for him to win at Football in a playoff game. The man was soft the way Old English meant it: or 'touched' one might say.
      He carried around some mythical book in his head where, like Pete Carroll only more one 'Had To Establish The Run.' Except with Marv, one had to do so on Every Down *_BEFORE_*_ he would consider any other options!_
      The only reason they got as far as they did were because the Raiders were playing as if they Refused To Believe the Bills would run on Every First Down & allowed Tremendous Yardage. Looking back, this was the first year I started to really believe the NFL was fixed. Everyone acted surprised they didn't win while I was disgusted that they *had.* Not because their players didn't deserve it; But because such inside the box thinking simply disgusted me.
      There was another SB with most of the same Bills team where they were down by three scores & Marv was on the sidelines acting like he thought he was on some battlefield trying to capture some enemy's hill. He just kept running the ball eating up the clock ensuring his team would have No Chance of scoring even twice, let alone the necessary three time to catch up.
      Jim Kelly was an incredible long passer & Marv absolutely refused to allow him to call plays or use this ability of his. Marv's idea of the passing game was also decades behind. Nothing but short passes & crossing routes. It worked Only If your lines beat down theirs, which meant it worked *because* they had the Strongest Lines. But made it Nearly Impossible to come back once down.
      It was like Marv was constantly reading a movie script & couldn't see that reality wasn't following it along with him. "D'uhh, this worked Other Times that I tried it. Logic indicates that it should Always Work." The man couldn't adjust to _reality!_
      Can you tell it angered me? All the Giants had to do was One Unexpected Thing. After they did it a couple of times, it was no longer unexpected, right?
      Not to Marv. To him, _anyone_ opponent or teammate not following His Preconceived Notions 100% of the time would surprise him each time.

    Probably not even in the top 20, but I do wan to give a shout-out to the 2006 Ravens led by Steve McNair (who shared MVP honors with Peyton Manning that season)
    They went 13-3 and some say that defense was more talented than the 2000 Ravens (Ray Lewis, Bart Scott, Ed Reed, Terrell Suggs, Adalius Thomas as notable standout players and if you followed the league at the time then you know Chris McCalister and Sumari Rolle were no slouches at CB, and Kelly Gregg and Trevor Pryor were holding it down on the D Line. Jarret Johnson was also the prototype “generic white player” before that was a meme. “Lunch-pale guy, high motor, plays to the end of every snap, quick in space but not gonna blaze pay anyone on the line, enough power to compete”) . They only kept it together for a single season and Billick was fired after the 2007 season because the 13 win season looked like an aberation/result of talented players not good coaching, leading to the Harbaugh-Flacco era.
    But I always felt like that Ravens team gets overlooked because they lost in the playoffs to Peyton Manning in his “silence the haters, he can win a super bowl” season.

      They didn’t get it done, but that was on the offense. The defense held up their end of the bargain. They held that loaded Indy team to 15 points. They needed two touchdowns and a field goal and could only manage to put up 6 points. They deserved to lose that game just because the offense laid such an egg on national TV. Which is sad because that was the whole point of bringing in McNair that season and getting people like Derrick Mason the seasons before…they were supposed to be a top-15 offense and a top 5 defense….and they made it happen for the whole season until that game against Indy.
