The most impressive part of this video is watching a woman who has the confidence to wear a white sweater while dealing with beetroot. If that were me, my sweater would be ruined.
Incase you’re in a hurry or wondering Classic hummus : :46 - 2:08 Roasted Garlic & Red pepper : 2:26 - 3:47 Golden Lemon and Turmeric : 4:09 - 5:10 Roasted Beetroot 5:15 - 6:10 Green pea and Edamame : 6:30 - 7:30
I use ice water instead of just water from the tap...it kind of same idea as the ice cube except you know exactly how much water is going into the hummus and for those people who think this is strange, it DOES make it creamier!
After watching this months ago I have made one of these recipes weekly. All are unbelievably good! One word of warning on the red pepper hummus - I made it exactly as the recipe calls and found mine to be quite runny. It may have been from the size of my bell peppers (larger = more juice), so I would recommend not adding the water in the recipe until you see how thick it is without the water. This is a minor warning. The major warning is the flavor is so amazing that you won’t be able to eat Sabra store bought hummus ever again.
I love making my own hummus and have gotten creative with the recipe when I find my pantry empty of garbanzos. I've made hummus with canned blackeyed peas, canned limas, canned navy beans and all have turned out yummy. Rather than purchase or make tahini, I just throw 1/2 cup of toasted sesame seeds into the blender with the other ingredients. I also always add 1/2 to 1 tsp of cumin.
I love Sadia’s videos!!! I’m only 17 and I feel like she’s such a great role model. I’m so excited for her future and Pick Up Limes looks like I’ll be a subscriber forever :)
i tried to do them all at home now that we're quarantinated and i fell definitely in love. actually my favorite is the roasted garlic and pepper, I added curcuma in it and some spices and it comes out delicious. you're really an ispiring model
As a Palestinian, hummus is an everyday ingredient in our kitchen. Making it at home is so much better! The secret to making it fluffy is by adding ice to the food processor. Yes ICE!. Great video, thank you!
I love that your personality is coming out -not even in the bloopers, (which I friggin LOVE) but you just seem EVEN MORE chill in the video and it makes me happy. You always look like you’re doing what you wanna do and you have joy but it seems like it’s been kicked up a notch. You’ve never looked unhappy. Makes my heart smile. You even make me wanna give beets a second chance.❤️✨😂

Irrespective of the the content I don't know how but your videos serve as a meditation for me. You're videos it self are balanced, with the exact quantity of content unlike other RUclips videos that literally bogs down our mind with to much information in a short time. Your biggest fan ❤
My chef-husband learned his hummus recipe from an Egyptian colleague, and the secret for the creamiest hummus is to peal the chick peas. Just soak in cool water and rub gently between fingers to remove the skins. It makes all the difference in the world. Love your videos!
I literally just tried one of these-the golden turmeric and lemon hummus-it is absolutely divine! I pretty much stuck to the recipe, except I roasted the garlic, and I started with chickpeas that I soaked then cooked from dry so I used the cooking liquid to manage the consistency, in place of plain water. I garnished with olive oil and crushed red pepper flakes for some heat. Omg this is so good; snacking on it with carrots right now. The roasted ted pepper is next! Thank you!!
i made the classic hummus this week and it was so good my mum and 4 sisters ate it all in one day. i have spent most of today making enough to feed an army, to give to my family to eat for the next week. this is so much better then the one we buy i don't think we will be buying hummus EVER AGAIN. I cant wait to try the next hummus in this video haha

I’m allergic to them so I had to research substitutions.
Dear Sadia and PUL team, I can't thank you enough for bringing all those wonderful and healthy recipes to surface! Research has linked hummus and its ingredients to a variety of impressive health benefits, including helping fight inflammation, improving blood sugar control, better digestive health, lower heart disease risk and weight loss. Moreover, hummus is naturally free of common food allergens and irritants, such as gluten, nuts and dairy, which means it can be enjoyed by most people.

Hi Sadia, I don't know if you made this kind of videos before but would you recommend food processor or blender ? What's the diffrence between them and which one of them is the more versatile ? I'm looking for a tool to cook recipe like humus, soups or smoothies. Thanks in advance for your reply and have a nice week-end :)
I have both, and I use the blender mostly for soups and smoothies, it works well with liquids. The glass is taller thicker and the knifes are smaller. The food processor I usually use for dry ingredients (nuts and seeds) or pastes like hummus or homemade ice cream. I think technically you can use one for everything, but the food processor is tricky with liquids because it isn't as high and some don't have enough power to break ice f.e. As for the blender, the knifes are located in the middle so if there isn't enough liquid it doesn't cut properly, which is why it doesn't work well for dry ingredients. It all depends on the type, though. There are some good comparisons online if you want to read up on it.
@@xAnicsi Thanks a lot for the reply and the explaination :) I'll search for comparaison then. As I have a little space for cooking, I'd like to buy a versatile robot. I think as well one can do both if I choose it properly.
the beetroot recipe is also brilliant using instead of mayonnaise for making a vegan version of the danish bread spread, Russian salad, thanks for the recipe
Hummus is chickpeas in Arabic. so if the mixture does not have chickpeas in it, it is not actually Hummus 😁 anywaays LOVE you videos definately trying the beets and the roasted bell peppers ones 😍😍👌
But you can't deny it's a brilliant way to add more greens to your food, apparently tahini, lemon, and garlic with some spices can upgrade anytype of food
These hummus recipes are so very delicious. Living in a middle eastern country i can completely relate to these versions of the hummus. So well done. Video well made, hummus well presented. Totally nice !!!!! Great job !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now that I finally have a food processor I'm so excited to make my own hummus. Also, love the outtakes. It's a good reminder that you're not perfect like the rest of us. Haha.

A tip from a Syrian to get the creamiest Hummus is to add a cube of ice to the chickpeas while blending. Try it and thank me later 😊
