My husband immediately fell in love with the spread. Will definitely become a staple in our house. Many thanks for the great recipe and your work you put in your recipes. Highly appreciated
Just be sure you do track your macros to make sure tat you get the minimum of 0.5 grams of protein per pound of bodyweight. If you try to build muscle 0.8 grams/pound of BW is recommended. I love your channel and I’ve gotten lots of inspiration as a new vegan. One thing I’ve noted and find rather unusual is that you do not consume the green part of the leek. That is also edible and used in some of the most savoury meals. We use the white bulbous part for soups and the green part as a condiment in many other meals. If we had to throw away a part of the leek it would generally be the white part which doesn’t have much flavour when compared to the green. Maybe you’d like to give it a try? 🤷🏻♀️ Just something interesting I thought I would share.

This is too funny - - I was literally just yesterday looking for ways to keep my energy going throughout intense work days, while sticking to a WFPB diet, and adding more protein was recommended to me. You had me with the pancakes 😂💜 I’m a pescatarian trying to become a vegan. I’ve been using fish to get protein for a few years but I’m ready to take my health to the next level so this is the perfect video for me!
Great video, thank you ! I would be interested to see more season based recipes. Most of us are pretty uneducated about seasonal vegetables (since most are around all year, we don't really care anymore if we buy strawberries and tomatoes and eggplant in winter...), plus I found it's very difficult to be inventive without adding vegetables that are out of season... (especially in winter, unless you like soup)
One of the best ways to learn is to garden - I knew very little about seasonality until two years ago when I signed up for a community garden plot! I also signed up for a CSA box which is a less intensive way to learn, haha. We get a box of veggies right from the farm, harvested within a day or two of receiving it. It comes along with a little newsletter about what's in it. I do buy stuff that's out of season in the winter, but I try to rely more on frozen, canned, and storage veggies (e.g. potatoes, onions, squash) that was harvested in season! That way they taste a lot better. I don't find myself missing the freshness very much because it's so cold and I have no desire to eat raw veggies when I could instead eat them warm and cooked
@@harmonicaveronica, Yep, when you live in a colder climate like Canada (or the Netherlands), eating seasonally is not feasible all year outside of frozen vegetables and neither is gardening in winter. But in the warmer months, it’s something to strive for.
I really like that after all this time making a new life with Robin in The Netherlands, you still said, "I'm Canadian." I never knew the "thing" with white pepper-thank you!
Y’all have one of the best channels on the planet. I do not follow a vegan lifestyle but man do you guys make some bomb food. Just such a high quality channel from high quality folks!
Recipe 2 on here looked great! I can't be the only person who can't stand tofu. I made a vegan quiche many years back using a recipe from a vegan blogger, whose recipes I absolutely love. I decided to give tofu a chance. I made a beautiful quiche, took one bite, almost vomited, and trashed the entire thing. There's got to be a better way to get a lot more vegan recipes than always using tofu.
A lot of people will say that tofu is bland and will take on any flavor, but I've always found that to be inaccurate. Tofu has a pretty neutral flavor in my opinion, but that flavor is strong. And if you happen to not like it, you're going to taste it even more strongly in any dish it's in! In dishes like a stir fry where tofu would be in solid pieces, I often find tempeh to be a good substitute. It's still made of soy but has a very different flavor and texture to tofu - it's a little bitter before it's properly cooked, but when it's fried or baked so it browns it has a very lovely nutty flavor and it looses the bitterness. I like it better than tofu personally, but I do still like tofu. Alternatively, chickpeas are excellent because they're a little firmer than other beans and tend to hold their shape, especially if you cook them yourself from dry instead of buying canned. When it comes to a puree, any well-cooked bean could do in a savory context, but any kind of white beans are going to provide the closest color match
I just want to say thank you for your videos. Even though I'm not a vegan I draw inspiration from your recipes. They're well thought out, beautiful and look delicious.
Normally I am a meat eater. But recently I discovered a book called “Eat Right 4 Your Type”. They say that people who have A+ or A- blood can really thrive on more of a plant based diet. I’m glad I found your channel. Everything looks delicious and I’m so intrigued to try some of these recipes. I’ve been working out as well so the protein recipes looks absolutely amazing to try!
When I was young, cutting onions was so painful. An old Russian woman taught me to put a large piece of bread in my mouth while cutting to stop the fumes from causing the tears. It worked!
Love the recipes! Would love a video of recipes rich in iron as I’m someone struggling with iron deficiency but also wanting to transition into vegan lifestyle!
Love these recipe ideas, it’s perfect for healthy bulking! Your kitchen is beautiful - everything from the dishes to your ceramics come together so elegantly
That is actually a studio kitchen! Real life kitchens tend to only look that good if people never cook in them, because practically demands having quite a lot of stuff out on the counter and not letting plants take up very much space. Still, it's beautiful and I can only dream of having something half that gorgeous in my home!
For those of us who are soy-free: Sub Tofu with Pumfu! ( a soy-free pumpkin-seed based based Tofu). Its available online and in Whole Foods, etc. Also suv Soy Sauce with Coconut Aminos.
The bloopers make it so fun to watch! Are you planning to write a book? Or have you published one already? I love the pdfs but a book would be easier :)
Beautiful Videos! I am an ayuvedic cook and wanted to mention that peamilk or soymilk has much protein but isn‘t necessarily very healthy due to the overbreeding too much soy can harm your body.
You are such an inspiration to me! After decades of battling an eating disorder you give me the confidence to try things and so far with success. Thank you for that.
I made today the quish; I loved it! And my husband, not really into plant-based loved it too! Next time I will put more tomatoes; this addition is truly genius...the flavor that you experience when you bite on them is....really good!
I LOVE your videos. I’m obsessed with vegan protein pancakes too. For the pancakes, i love to top them with peanut butter (sometimes mixed with water and PB2 for extra protein) then i microwave some frozen fruit in a bowl and it softens the fruit and produces some liquid. I top my pancakes with this as a replacement for syrup. It is so so tasty. I’ve also put chia seeds in the microwaved fruit before and it creates a jam.
I just recently found this channel. I am very impressed by this channel! It's like I have found a treasure! 😍 Also, this lady is super talented, super gorgeous! Her voice is so soothing. I can watch her videos the whole day! 😍 Thanks for doing this! Great content! ❤️
Thanks for these recipes. I made the pancakes this morning. Super delicious, hearty and filling. I did have to add a fair bit more liquid and in the end switched to my waffle maker so they would cook through properly due to the density of the batter. They make FANTASTIC waffles! Love PUL!
I had the same trouble- way too thick to spread in a pan. I was worried about over mixing as I added more liquid and eventually just spread the batter out in a sheet to bake it. I did eat the first couple from the pan and they were hearty!
I love everything make and it’s awesome how you incorporate your nutritional wisdom into your videos 😊 is there any chance you could do a video or recommend high protein meals that don’t include soy as it’s an allergy? X
I’m not vegan, I’m not even vegetarian and yet I loveeee to watch your videos and always want to try the recipes. When I was working, I made the green pasta from one of your “affordable meals” video and it was very good.
Thank you. My protein intake was something that I was concerned of when went plant based, this video is perfect. I think I'll make the quiche for the next family brunch.
Not a good idea to avoid tracking your macros though. You won't know if you are deficient before its too late if you don't. If your goal is to get the recommended 0.8 grams/pound of bodyweight per day then you need to track it. Lentils being one of the most protein dense vegan sources only contain 9% protein(cooked) meaning you would need 2.8 pounds of cooked lentils per day at 150 pounds body weight. Peace.
A good protip is to always add 2-3 different protein sources to every meal. For example, I always replace rice in every recipe with some kind of bean if possible. Plus, if I don't think I'm getting enough I bump it up with some high protein snacks.
@@plantatheist5883 As someone with an ED, I completely understand her recommendation not to track. Its so easy to start obsessing over macros and calories, and stop seeing food as food. I know that I personally, destroyed my relationship with food the instant I started tracking. Everything became a numbers game, and I literally stopped eating for flavor, and nutritional content, and only ate because of the calories and macros. I'm still trying to go back to the attitude I had before, but its difficult to recover. Sadia's channel has been a great help, and her recipes and general attitude make me believe that one day, I can eat freely again.
@@TheaTheGenius What if I told you macros are a part of the nutritional content? I understand from one perspective why it makes sense to not track calories and I agree it is easy to develop unhealthy habit this way. Studies does, however, not support this idea. Most eating disorders (anorexia and bulimia nervosa are associated with prior history of abuse. Telling someone on a restrictive diet (veganism) to not track protein is however, unethical. You know that vegetables are less protein dense than meat. If you downplay the need to consume quality protein and at the same time discourage your followers from tracking protein, you are setting them up to develop deficiencies.
@@plantatheist5883 wow, didn't know that macros are a part of nutrition! Revelation right there! /s/ Sadia acknowledges multiple times that vegan food is not as nutritionally dense as animal sources. She RECCOMENDS not to track, but people are free to do so, if they choose. Her website clearly outlines the nutritional content of every meal, and she encourages people swap ingredients to meet their needs. Plus, she always stresses the plate method, to make sure people eat balanced meals. It's a rough tracking method that doesn't place emphasis on every individual gram. For the average person it's a good way to eat more healthily. Also, thanks for generalizing EDs into one giant lump. You're right, every single one of us are just broken abused souls who either have anorexia or bulimia. Can't possibly be any other reason someone would develop an ED.
I love the information you provide. I am a true meat lover so I thought you would think it is awesome that I have told others about your videos and told them that with your recipes I think I could actually be vegan. YUM. Also hats off for supporting those who are in need in the Ukraine.

Honestly, seeing you cry from chopping onions is very reassuring 😅 It often seems like the pros can chop onions all day long without a single tear and it always makes me feel like a total wuss 🤣 I literally have to sit down and rest for 15 minutes afterwards. Thank you for being so open.
Thank you Sadia and Team! Also trying to think of some new breakfast and lunchbox ideas for three kids. Unfortunately my eldest is extremely allergic to sesame seeds - please let me know what plant butter you think would be the most similar in taste and nutrition. Have you ever worked out a vegan ' french toast' one could make ahead? Another channel (not vegan) Jordan Page has 8 kids and makes egg muffins and French toast amount another breakfasts ahead and freezes so kids can just heat and eat Lady also made a vegan quiche before but it uses chickpea flour (gram flour) - might help with thickening especially if one doesn't have form tofu. Really looking forward to your thoughts and as always much appreciated ☺️ stay well
For making the pancakes I've used both firm and medium firm tofu (instead of silken), but then I have basically just doubled the tofu and liquid part of the recipe and had the dry part be regular, the batter turns out quite thick but still delicious.
I recently came across an amazing tip for tear free onion prep. place a wet paper towel on the cutting board while chopping onions and no more tears! Highly recommend!! :)

I really like that after all this time making a new life with Robin in The Netherlands, you still said, "I'm Canadian."
I never knew the "thing" with white pepper-thank you!
I cannot appreciate your videos, energy, and wealth of knowledge on nutrition enough.
So much to learn yet
That pancake recipe blew my mind. If I didn't know what you were making, I couldn't have guessed until the very end! Such a good idea.
Y’all have one of the best channels on the planet. I do not follow a vegan lifestyle but man do you guys make some bomb food. Just such a high quality channel from high quality folks!
Thanks for being such a attentive and awesome friend all these years. Cheer to your life!
Just made the avocado toast! I added sun dried tomatoes and it was delicious! This is going to be a staple
Maybe grow up?
@@harmonicaveronica I love chickpeas and other beans. I've never trued tempeh. Maybe I'll give that a shot. Thank you!
@@jmr9735 If you ever try tofu again just make sure you get the right kind of you didn't check because there about 5 different types i believe?
I love seeing your engagement ring making appearances in your videos! Congratulations to you both! So happy for you.
I love the little heart in the center of the strawberry around the 3:05 mark!!
“Oh hey there” has become my favorite greeting 😊
I just want to say thank you for your videos. Even though I'm not a vegan I draw inspiration from your recipes. They're well thought out, beautiful and look delicious.
Hey, just a quick tip, if you peel and freeze your onion for roughly 30 min it should help with the eye watering =)
I tried the bean spread today and it was so good! Thank you for sharing your recipe and giving me another option for a morning/mid day meal.
You posted at the right time!!! I really needed this
For those of us who are soy-free:
Sub Tofu with Pumfu!
Also, this lady is super talented, super gorgeous!
Agreed! I can't have soy and it's frustrating to try to find high protein vegan recipes that don't include it.
Same! Also sensitive to gluten so would be nice to see some more without bread 😶
I just love her smile..such a positive vibe 💫
My husband loves eggs but they haven't been agreeing with him so I definitely want to try out the quiche recipe & thanks for the black salt tip!
I’m not vegan, I’m not even vegetarian and yet I loveeee to watch your videos and always want to try the recipes. When I was working, I made the green pasta from one of your “affordable meals” video and it was very good.
To Die for ❤😋 I must eat the pancakes and the toast. Thanks!!!
@@TheaTheGenius
What if I told you macros are a part of the nutritional content?
Sadia acknowledges multiple times that vegan food is not as nutritionally dense as animal sources.
Pure joy watching you and your lovely videos 🎉
Yay! A notification from PUL lights up my day! ✨🌻
I love the information you provide. I am a true meat lover so I thought you would think it is awesome that I have told others about your videos and told them that with your recipes I think I could actually be vegan. YUM. Also hats off for supporting those who are in need in the Ukraine.
You are so gracious on portion size! Awesome presentation indeed!
The pancakes look yummy! Oh, btw, get yourself some eye goggles for cutting onions - especially if you bulk cut them and freeze them… game changer!!
Hello from Indonesia ☺
I really Love your videos , I love cooking and starting to be a vegetarian now , and Thank you for sharing the recipes.
thats really yummy and healthy ,I will try every recipes in daily life for my little family .
All looks super yummy! Btw you can just slice and cook the green tops of leeks with and just like the white part. Absolutely no reason to throw away anything.
That tofu taart looks pretty amazing and adding tomatoes on top of it like a pizza is desirably tempting to my taste. Thanks Sadia!
A long-time PUL lover, you always make every video better each time!
How do you always manage to get the perfect timing? I've just started working out first thing in the morning and was looking for a way to pack more proteins in my breakfast for muscle recovery, this will help so much! Thank you for another amazing video!
Her videos are not just any food videos. Its freaking ART! 😍 My aim everyday I get up is “I wanna be like Sadia” 😋😋
Yes, I get you. Her food always looks so beautiful and it's healthy too and I can imagine it tastes good too.
Every time I watch a PUL episode I am convinced you are a vegan superhero.
Was feeling kinda low, then u posted this and now I'm all smiles
I’m eating these pancakes right now! Total success. THANK YOU!
I am new to the channel. I was looking for high protein vegan breakfast ideas, and WOW did you deliver! I am so grateful for all of the information you have provided on this and other videos. As I am not yet vegan, I had to purchase almost all of the ingredients for the pancakes. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE them! Thanks again!!!!
Honestly, seeing you cry from chopping onions is very reassuring 😅 It often seems like the pros can chop onions all day long without a single tear and it always makes me feel like a total wuss 🤣 I literally have to sit down and rest for 15 minutes afterwards. Thank you for being so open.
Happy early birthday to the amazing youtuber and person! Love u Sadia 💓
Oh wow, you have great memory! Either that or perhaps yours is also coming up soon? 😉🥳
@@PickUpLimes thank you but mine's is in October so.. I think it's just my great memory then 😂
Thank you Sadia and Team!
Another channel (not vegan) Jordan Page has 8 kids and makes egg muffins and French toast amount another breakfasts ahead and freezes so kids can just heat and eat
Lady also made a vegan quiche before but it uses chickpea flour (gram flour) - might help with thickening especially if one doesn't have form tofu.
The twins dad is a Spanish speaker and he wanted something like this to educate himself on how to feed the twins when, they’re with him.
I just made the pancakes last week for my family and they LOVED them. Big hit! 😊
I love the tips you started giving in your most recent videos
I'm absolutely in love with the way PUL videos are so aesthetically beautiful & full of nibbles of knowledge 😍
Much love Sadia
From Qatar
Do you have a Vegan cookbook yet? My mouth is watering! Thanks as always, Sadia and team. Also, love the blooper on this one.
You are a magician! And you make magic in the kitchen, Mrs. Pickuplimes!! 😁😁
Love how the strawberry on the pancakes has a little heart in the middle. ♥
So awesome!
I've made a similar quiche before, but I used all of the leek. The green part, for me, is the most flavorful one! I always use it ♥
I made the avo toast tonight for dinner (because yeah I couldn’t wait till breakfast!!) and it was fantastic!!
