Nadia, you are amazing! Just what I needed. A video that has everything that I need to know. You have no idea how much you have helped me understand this morning. God Bless you, my dear! I just started my healthy eating about 2 months ago by pure accident. I had noticed that I had gained weight but never in my mind would I had thought that it was inflammation. It all happened when a neighbor started sharing with me a smoothie that she was making every morning. All of a sudden people started telling me I had lost weight. And when I googled all the ingredients she puts in the smoothie, to my surprise they were all anti-inflammatory. This triggered me to dive into this. A good thing is that I am a vegetable lover, no problem in that department. And since then, I've been learning the power that fruits, vegetables, and spices have, and I am a true believer that nature has everything our body needs to heal. But I still visit my doctor and he also believes that and is happy with how my level of energy (night and day) has increased noticeably. Thanks again, Nadia!!!

Dearest Sadia, could you make a video about what people with gastritis or general digestive issues can eat? Lots of the antinflammatory foods listed here are really bad for gastritis, acid reflux, IBS etc. I'm personally struggling with these issues but in this day and age there are lots of us and your advice is precious. Thank you! ❤️❤️
I've had IBS since a long time. The only thing that resets my gut is probiotics. Just focus on high levels of those for a while, then your body adjusts to the rest of the diet.
Hello. I have a gastritis since a long time. There are some dietary tips that hopefully might help to relieve symptoms: eating steamed or baked tubers (well cooked), legumes only in form of puree, fermented grains like sourdough bread, overnight porridges, some times refined grains are easier to digest than whole grains, like an organic white pasta i.e., ripe fruits and veggies. Hydration and mastication are to important when having gi issues. Also to try doing some excercise (even walk). Very sorry for my english. Hope it can help.
wow, your positivity radiates and all the captured meals are truly mouth watering. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and friendly vibes with the world!
I wanted to let you know how much I appreciate your channel. It doesn't matter if you are sharing yummy recipes or helpful information it is always such a positive and helpful channel.
Very proud to say that I knew all of that. I read alot about gut microbiome last year. But a really good reminder why it is so important and everything collected in one place. Quality content as always 😄
I know I'm just a random comment down here but these informational videos are absolutely amazing. Please consider doing more of them. You explain things in such a great way that it's hard to NOT understand what you are trying to say. Thank you as always.
As someone who is dealing inflammation this is very help, the super vast majority of videos on this topic go "JUST DON'T EAT THAT (insert thing you love)" If it was easy to stop eating the thing I love eating, I wouldn't be on youtube looking for help. I really appreciate any video that suggest things I can eat and makes it sound good.
Thank you so much for this video! I've struggled with a number of chronic illnesses for many, many years that I'm learning are linked to and exacerbated by inflammation. I'm trying to start following an anti-inflammation diet, but with all of the considerations it feels like a lot. This video was so helpful and well-made - I hope you make more anti-inflammation focused videos and recipes in the future!
Oh yay! It's like you made this video for me! I have an inflammatory disease so this is a subject I have poured over. I'm not a vegetarian or vegan, but I try to eat plant based as often as possible and I've found that the more I stick to plant based the better I feel. The only meat that never gives me problems is poultry. So for you meat eaters out there who have issues with inflammation, try going more plant based!
After 5 years of being vegan I have decided to give a chance to tofu. I needed a recipe. I saw a good looking Chinese dish. I will definitely make it 👍
I have arthritis since almost 20 years, non age related and I already eat most of this food. But I'll keep rewatching and taking notes to add items. The array of colours and the mixed ingredients are simply wonderful! Thanks again, such a fan. 😊
I just wanted to thank you for this video. I struggle with Ulcerative Colitis, pancolitis specifically. Got diagnosed in December of 2020 and have been home since fighting it. I just found your video but I can't wait to try these. Some of these foods actually cause me more inflammation, just because of my disease as they are trigger foods, but there are plenty that will be safe to eat. Again, thank you very much for this video, I can't tell you how much it will help me.
I found your channel recently and it’s my new healthy obsession. I thought I knew a lot about the body and health but you continue to show me something new every episode and I love that. I must say that I watch a lot of health channels but this channel is next level in terms of the sheer beauty of the videos and the level of knowledge in them. Your food looks colorful and joyful to consume 😊 keep up the great work!
Thank you so much for this video! I was just glued to the screen, kept skipping back to re-listen and it gave me a motivation boost to invest a bit more time in planning my meals for this week ☺️🌼
This video is so perfectly timed in my life! I just found out Ive got premature arthritis at 24 so I've been looking into changing my diet to help manage inflammation! This was a super easy to follow video that just lays out everything in a plain understandable way! Thank you Sadia 😁❤
I’ve been watching since not long after you started your channel and I think this may be one of my top favorite videos. I love the in depth explanations but keeping the pace at a good speed the whole time. Thanks, Sadia, for educating us on something so crucial. My family has a history of arthritis so I’ll be sure to share with them ❤️
Just a quick note about the speed. Sometimes it’s getting hard for me to enjoy your wonderful videos or digest the information because you’ve started speaking really fast recently. I understand that you probably try to keep it as short as possible but still. One of the many things I greatly enjoyed in your earlier videos was your calm soothing voice and confident manner, without rush. I don’t mean to be rude or upsetting, just expressing my opinion. Thank you again!)
Sister, great info! Can I also add, as I gave myself severely debilitating multiple sclerosis, that it's vital to think and feel good by focusing on the here and now, keep a positive attitude, forgive and let go. I have been vegan since 2012 and I have always prepared my healthy food from scratch. I also exercised regularly, took my daily dose of vitamin d from the sun and took vitamin supplements common for vegans. However 😞, I got seriously depressed and kept replaying memory movies from the past. I was filled with rage and anger until I almost completely gave up on life. Miraculously, I was taken to the hospital, lost or donated everything I had because no longer able to take care of myself. Now, after a war where I had to face my inner demons and my own dark side - as a vegan I thought I was great, better than most 😒, well now I know I am not, for sure!!! To heal I had to reset my system completely, my mind was full of trash and now I feel as a new person is, about to reborn: free of memories of the past or expectation about the future. The return to our innocent self! 😁🤗💖😊
I am going to be watching this many times over as i suffer from IBS. Also, love your ranch flavoured roasted chickpeas! Wow, game changer for my salads, love the taste, crunch and fibre added. Win win!!!
Just to warn you, some vegetables and fruits are actually bad for IBS because of the types of sugars in them. Things like onions and garlic are big no-no’s for IBS. If you don’t know about it already, check out FODMAP. Some things you might be okay with, it’s a personal thing.
@@zoephare fortunately after 10 years with IBS, seeing Dietician's and having done the FODMAP diet (which didn't work for me), i am well aware. But i appreciate the message.
It would be amazing to have a video of yours that explains about improving gut health. For me it’s been a journey and I’m feeling great, but I know lots of people who still struggle. Would be great to refer them to one of your videos as I completely stand for everything you tell and during my gut journey, a diet like your plant based wholefood diet is pretty much what I followed. It’s a booming topic so hopefully you can help with this 😘
This was so informative! I’ve been watching Pick Up Limes for awhile now and honestly it’s made me change my relationship with food. And I thank this channel for that! ♥️
As someone with Multiple Sclerosis having an anti-inflammatory diet is important, this vide was full of good digestible info and delicious recipes for me to try. I felt less overwhelmed. Thank you!
Hi! I would love to see a video on how to cook and prep when you live alone. I live alone and if I try to have a wide variety of foods I usually end up with a lot of fresh veggies gone bad. I really hate to waste food, and I try to plan my meal prep and only buy the amount of veggies I know I will cook. But every so often I'll buy a red cabbage that I'll enjoy for a few meals and when I have 75% left it's gone bad. I really want to have more fresh veggies, but for the time being I only buy very small packages of a few things and stick with frozen stuff the rest of the time. Do you have any advice?
you can try to freeze the rest of the veggies. I also cook for myself only and cook a lot of pots. I use then the leftovers from each previous meal. I also just buy per item whenever I do grocery shopping, like I just by 1 carrot, 1 bell pepper etc..
The timing of this video was incredible! 👀 I've been struggling with inflammation the past few weeks due to dietary changes, and this just helped me refocus and eat to feel better🥰

Even though I have been watching and loving your channel for years, I was a bit scared to see "fight inflammation" in the title, as it has been used by so many people to do "food terrorism" and spread misinformation, making people feel guilty and really stressed about something they eat. I am so glad I was wrong 💚 You never fail to deliver us wonderful content with an amazing viewpoint and thoughtful communication that encourages us to eat better without feeling like it is painful and unachievable. Hi Sadia, I love your channel ❤️. Today my daughter and I were researching through your channel to find healthy recipes for people with MS - as my daughter was diagnosed with MS two years ago when she turned 25. She has just started work as a teacher and is looking for quick & easy recipes to cook for 2 people, and take to school for lunch. We loved this video, as I think it would be very beneficial for people with MS.

This video is an absolute masterpiece! Would love more videos on the anti-inflammatory topic! Whether it's delving more into the science of it or sharing specific anti-inflammatory recipes!
I just watched you add like 2 CUPS of onion to a dish!!! Onions and other foods with fructans have been very high inflammation for our family. Cutting onion and garlic and keeping low on ADDED fructose has been amazing for all our autoimmune issues we used to have. A low FODMAP diet has been literally life changing and impacted all our health literally, getting rid of so many issues. The old school low inflammation diet they teach in schools won't last long.
Loved this. Thank you! I found you back when you were still doing dietician work, and one of the reasons I really liked, and followed, your videos. So love to see this come back in. Please do more! I am limited to non-starch foods which limits even certain veggies and particularly pulses. Sigh. So am always on the look out for interesting recipes, of which you have so many lovely ones (or ones I can adapt). I've noticed that menopause has really impacted on what I can eat, eg before I could get away with more, now I can't. I am sure I am not alone in this. But I don't understand why menopause would impact on diet. Any chance of a vlog that explains a bit? PS. I wonder sometimes if diet related issues is potentially related to generations? I was a product of 1950s/60s parents. The beginning of the whole processed food movement. And I am curious to know if there is a rise in issues because of more processed foods (and less other options, unlike today)? I love that today there are so many more options, and it has to be healthier, or at least offer a more healthy lifestyle choice.
This is amazing! Such helpful information in a very easy to understand format. It’s also an encouragement to incorporate more of these foods into my eating!
I watched this while eating biscuits but i wanna thank you for being a channel with positive attitude towards food, this is the most peaceful channel about food and minimalism i think

Thank you thank you thank you…best advice ever as I am a Vegan and can use your advice. I make soup with different color lentils & turmeric and tomatoes but I forget black pepper. I am the Queen of inflammation soon to be my Highness
I love this.. I can’t be completely plant based-I have a congenital disorder that’s causes me to have kidney stone formation and am prone to UTI’s. Now it’s best for me to eat more fruits and veggies and less meat and low sodium, but a lot of the super foods and really healthy foods are high in oxalate. That is the type of stones I form. I also have to consume a certain amount of calcium in order to not form stones. It’s like I want to be really healthy but at the same time I do NOT want to form more kidney stones. I like the fact that you have all of these recipes attached from the video. I will be trying multiple ones. Thanks for all you do!

I didn’t think I liked kalamata olives (I still think I might not like it in large amounts 😶) but I loved the flavors in it.
I changed my relationship with food & health over the past 5 months, and have lost 17kgs and cured my IBS all thanks to improving my gut health and ZOE. I don’t know if this helps but most if these while raw hurt my stomach but when cooked they really help keep my IBS under control.
I love these sit down talking videos the best! They're so soothing 🤍
Try eliminating gluten from your diet, it can be quite inflammatory.
@@leannedooley Thanks Leanne! I'll look into that. 😊
How has your diet change affected your arthritis?
I just wanted to thank you for this video. I struggle with Ulcerative Colitis, pancolitis specifically. Got diagnosed in December of 2020 and have been home since fighting it. I just found your video but I can't wait to try these. Some of these foods actually cause me more inflammation, just because of my disease as they are trigger foods, but there are plenty that will be safe to eat. Again, thank you very much for this video, I can't tell you how much it will help me.
I have UC for 10 years now, I would recommend adding fermented vegetables like kimchi and sauerkraut
Picked a random video of this channel just to unwind and enjoy the gentle, slow energy and turned out I actually learned something haha
I found your channel recently and it’s my new healthy obsession. I thought I knew a lot about the body and health but you continue to show me something new every episode and I love that. Thank you for sharing this wonderful information with the world and for doing it all with such an approachable and inviting manner. All the best and continued health!
I must say that I watch a lot of health channels but this channel is next level in terms of the sheer beauty of the videos and the level of knowledge in them. Your food looks colorful and joyful to consume 😊 keep up the great work!
I’ve got Crohn’s disease so this was amazing for me as someone who has a lot of inflammation in my stomach
Can you do a cooking show to learn how to cook these incredible meals. I would love it and subscribe to your page.
It's nice to listen to someone talking about health who herself looks amazing!!
Thank you! So helpful. I love to see walnuts included in the list of omega-3 foods, because I feel like they're so often overlooked 😊
Changing my diet helped me a lot with my rheumatism. Diary has been one of my biggest triggers so I'm avoiding it completely.
Psssst look into boron
I AGREE!^V^
Agree as well, with love :)

If you go to the settings wheel, you can slow down the playback speed to your preference.

Appreciate the advice, always. People need to know this stuff.

How did u heal ur trauma?? I have been trying for years to no avail....Happy for ur new life😊😊
I am going to be watching this many times over as i suffer from IBS.
It’s a booming topic so hopefully you can help with this 😘
Yes please
I love the thumbnail - it really pops! 🫐🍓🍒
Thank you! 😊
The timing of this video was incredible! 👀 I've been struggling with inflammation the past few weeks due to dietary changes, and this just helped me refocus and eat to feel better🥰
I learned more about nutrition in this video than I ever did in school 😭 thank you PUL team! ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜
Thanks!
Thank you soo much! ❤️
I've just viewed this information for a 2nd time (excellent information both times😁). It occurs to me that we possibly don't always remember to more fully appreciate just how much good information you share with us, particularly given your many years studying.its a bit like having a friendly nutritionist on our side. Thankyou ❤ you are just lovely
Ugh! I love seeing this burst of snapshots of different recipes in action. I feel like a kid running down the aisles of a toy store - I want to try them all! 😍
Good analogy sameee its gonna take forever to learn haha
Even though I have been watching and loving your channel for years, I was a bit scared to see "fight inflammation" in the title, as it has been used by so many people to do "food terrorism" and spread misinformation, making people feel guilty and really stressed about something they eat. I am so glad I was wrong 💚 You never fail to deliver us wonderful content with an amazing viewpoint and thoughtful communication that encourages us to eat better without feeling like it is painful and unachievable. I love PUL so much, please never stop sharing your work and knowledge with us 🥰
I was going to type a similar comment, I love how informative & affirmative she is. It doesn't feel like a chore or that it's enforced...subscribed!

THIS WAS FIRE. Your warm energy and a great reminder of all I learned in nutrition school. SUBCRIBEDD❤
Thank you for educating this community, it’s usually a lack of education that holds us back from helping ourselves, this isn’t only informative but very kind. Thank you.
Absolutely love your videos. If COVID taught us anything, is that it's time to refocus on our overall health. Eating this healthy can help reduce the chances of developing many lifestyle diseases, that are common within our society. Thank you ❣️☺️
Just the type of channel and content I’ve been craving and seeking!! Thank you and I can’t wait to benefit from your recipes!
This is such a great comprehensive review of anti-inflammatory foods! Thank you so much 😁
I love this video with the time stamps and links and really easy and nutritious vegetarian foods. After 40+ years of being vegetarian it’s always good to have new ideas and you make it all look so yummy and easy. Thank you. 💐✨✨💝
You are a very thoughtful and knowledgeable presenter. You videos are professional and informative. Well done
New upload means happy Sunday!!
This was a very instructive video, I love this kind of content you create along with their linked articles. Thank you! 🌈
Thanks so much, Lara! 🥰
I looved this video so much. Would love to see more of these in the future. I am starting to dive into the world of nutrition and this was a great intro.
Thank you for taking rather complex information and presenting it in an easily digestible form 😉 This is a golden nugget of nutritional videos and I’ll be sure to share it! ❤️
Been watching you for years now and I'm Super thrilled with the direction you've taken the channel... Much Love, Health and Happiness !
This video is an absolute masterpiece! Would love more videos on the anti-inflammatory topic! Whether it's delving more into the science of it or sharing specific anti-inflammatory recipes!
This was so educational and approachable! Thank you!! If you ever wound up doing one of these about the glycemic index that would be amazing!
While I LOVE recipes videos I ADORE this type of videos, I learn soooo much! Thank you!
Thank YOU! 🤗
This is so informative ! They should really make a nutrition course mandatory in all schools
WOW, this is my first time seeing your contact & I must say I'm inspired and impressed. The world needs you and the work your doing!
You do such an incredible job. The information and advice is amazing. The videography is great as well as your articles. We certainly appreciate it! ❤
Loved this.
I'm so glad you made a point to explain that acute inflammation can be a good thing!
I watched this while eating biscuits but i wanna thank you for being a channel with positive attitude towards food, this is the most peaceful channel about food and minimalism i think
I am quite surprised because tomatoes are not recommended for people who have inflammation (because of the acidity) 🤔
Nice content as always
Love from France 🇨🇵🤗😘
Your videos are so valuable and useful. I like very much 👍
This was informative for someone who suffers from PCOS. Could you also do a video on PCOS vegan meals.
Sadia...your channel is my most favorite channel on you tube...everything about it is perfect...of course you top the list, yr demeanor, yr personality, education, passion for yr job, content, presentation, location, recipes (yum nutritious and vegan)...and your love story
All the best for a great and an even brighter future
Pick up limes is a great name for yt channel, hats off to the creativity
Thank you for making an inflammatory video. I've been battling IBD and your videos have helped me eat healthier and have helped me feel better. Also, your videos are very relaxing. 😌
I wish you were my sister or friend, so that I could taste your dishes and talk to you whenever I am facing a life crisis..😄.. Love you..
As an Indian who's now mostly cooking and eating meals at home, this is making me feel virtuous. Pretty much all the staples of the kitchen mentioned!
Hemp seeds, flax seeds, walnuts, soy, spinach, almonds, are all high in oxalate. This is the struggle I have unfortunately.
Appreciate the dietary health content! I am always forgetting to eat the rainbow. My favorite color to eat is orange so I recognized that African Peanut Soup right away, I've made it many times, SO GOOD. 😋😋😋😋😋
Recipe? @JSNwayne for African Peanut Soup? 🌍🥜🍲

I love your videoss! Btw did you read that book called The 21 Former Doctor Secrets Rachel Morgan, I would love your opinion, everyone is talking about that book and its must read!
I'm no vegan, but eating more vegan meals has helped me vary my food and boost my vitamin income :) Thank you, as always, for your helpful content
I just LOVE this format! So informative, but also beautiful, and so chill. Thank you Sadia, and the whole team!
Oh, that was amazing! So informative! Thanks for sharing. I have been vegan for over ten years now, but I`m learning sooo sooo much with you! So many delicious recipes and great nutritional content. I`m really enjoying cooking more since I discovered PUL. 💜
Thank you Sadia! I might be in the minority but I love these nutrition 101 type videos. Also, I tried that dill chickpea pasta salad in one of your more recent videos (used some leftover orzo), and it was sooooo good! I didn’t think I liked kalamata olives (I still think I might not like it in large amounts 😶) but I loved the flavors in it.
Aw so glad you enjoyed it! Both the video and the salad - thank you!!
I changed my relationship with food & health over the past 5 months, and have lost 17kgs and cured my IBS all thanks to improving my gut health and ZOE.
