I’ve literally made your hummus recipe for the first time about 3 months ago and haven’t stopped making a fresh batch about every 10 days or so. I’ve also done the same recipe substituting black beans for the chickpeas along with roasted garlic and it’s amazing as well! My hubby and I LOVE this stuff! And also great as a spread on sandwiches instead of the same old boring condiments!

That's what taking the time to cook and prepare food really well is all about, bringing your family and friends together to share and enjoy the goodness, it's one of the great enjoyments of life and you don't have to be rich or exceptionally talented to do it, just some practice and love. Thank you for sharing your recipe and family. Now I'm going to prepare it and see if I can get a big smile from my mom too.

YES! finally seeing the best recipe for hummus. after living in the middle east (and asking every falafel shop how they make it) this is definitely done well, but I have one recommendation:
start with the lemon, garlic, salt and cumin in the food processor first. once this is very well blended you can put in some ice water (it becomes the texture of an amazing mayo dressing, then lastly, add the chickpeas. something special happens when you do it like this. you can even use a little of the aquafava (at the beginning). makes it even creamier. try it.

My 2 biggest tips for hummus, which I've been making for decades:
    1) It's usually good to serve as-is, but a night in the fridge REALLY helps the flavor blend. You can always warm it up.
    2) Try dipping white onion petals into it, using them as scoops. It really brings the tahini out.

Fresh Cooked, then cold water bursts skin free. Similar to freezing tomatoes, then running them (frozen) under warm water, when you take them out of the freezer. The skin comes off easy. Same goes for garlic freeze it, peal by rubbing gentle between fingers & thumb, skins fall off ( slicing them thin easier or make them into a paste after they thaw).
The one time I used canned, the skins pulled off easily when I squished them, between thumb & fingers.

    Hey Nisha,
Friend of mine recommended me the instant pot when I was searching for an rice cooker. I knew your channel from before but not the instant pot videos. Then I was searching for vegan instant pot recipes on RUclips to convince myself to get an instant pot over a rice cooker and was positively surprised to see your channel pop up! Binged all the videos regarding that content. Then discovered you had an vegan instant pot cookbook which I instantly bought! Exactly what I was looking for! Oh you also kinda convinced me to see the utility and versatility and I finally add a food processor to my kitchen collection, admittedly a different model but I am very happy with it! Helps allot with vegan cooking total game changer IMO
So I made the hummus recipe for the second time, first time I did it without lemon juice becouse I had none and thought “mhe won’t make to much of a difference” , I was wrong VERY wrong! Just made it again with the juice of 1 whole lemon HOLY such a positive difference! Now I wonder what I missed all these years by not adding lemon juice to my other dishes!
Keep it coming, super good content!
    Best wishes

You can buy split chickpeas, these are small no shell and they cook in half the time.
I add carrot and onion to the cooking process, then I remove the onion and carrot before blending, that will add some sweetness to your hummus.
try it, worst case you won't like it, but it could also be the best one you had...

Garlic doesn't go well with hummus actually, Americans often use too much garlic and lemon and it tastes very weird, I'm speaking as a Lebanese that loves garlic and lemon. Hummus shouldn't taste like garlic and lemon, just a hint. Hummus needs more of a creamy tahini taste rather than lemon and garlic, if it tastes like garlic or lemon its usually tastes off its more to give it a flavor rather than to "taste like garlic/lemon). Of course to each their own.
Hummus is also not hummus without some good olive oil on top of it and some sumac or paprika on it, tastes so much better.

Can't wait to try this. Just to let you know (referencing 5:12), you parents' cutting board is behind you next to the stove. You just used it in the last scene. Great looking hummus!
