love that you guys are willing to tell us the cost. one day ill have some time and money under my belt and ill build a cart. was thinking of doing a mini one, like grind hard plumbing.
I just rewatched an old 2013 episode i remembered and I didn't realize just how long we all have been here watching You two work at your Dads house it wouldn't be the same any other way.... but I'd still watch.
Rust never sleeps, many a fine car has succumbed to the Rust Monster here in NY State, when I put new metal on something I paint it before anything. Excellent build.
I saw a minitruck the other day (Honda Acty or something of the sort) and realized the wheels would fit PERFECTLY on this build! Not too big, not too small!
With it's torque, go with 2" taller tires on the rear, and I know you guys have something really nice planned for the gas tank straps other than 2 diff colored straps. Awesome so far.
Lincoln welders Stick electric/engine driven power. {MIG Miller is killer {TIG Miller. Lincoln for some reason has dropped the ball in the Quality dept. I'm even looking at a Everlast unit. Over Lincoln. Machines are not cheap & if they can't be trusted they are worse than not having one at all. 👍👍 ya material costs add up quick....keep on Rock'n guys.!! EDIT : For future references a chemical called ospho works extremely well. It turns the oxide into primer. It kills & converts rust & just paint over it..
Great job been a fan almost from the beginning! Give these guys some high quality Lincoln welders, snap on tools , Cornwell boxes Milwaukee impacts and just a nice humble new shop.Just let the insight and good times flow if you could make some kids get out off them games and see
I would LOVE if you guys painted the engine, headlights, and covered all the cables with some black covers, . Basically use the cart as a huge canvas that you guys detail and clean up. Id like to see you guys do that kind of detail on the project as kind of show piece of the channel and what you guys do.
I know it was on test, but when spraying paint (rattle can or HPLV) it's best to work top down rather than bottom up (as long as your shop floor is clean... don't ask). Also, painting indoors when raining out allows the finish to dry slower & keeps down the airborne particles, generally giving you a better overall finish with less sanding. Lookin good either way tho, ready to see it rip!
Slag build up on your wire tip is causing extra drag. This puts a strain on the wire feed rollers, thus damaging the roller/shaft connection. ( I think) I did work in production mig welding. Slag or "spatter" is always an issue, especially as heat builds up on the tip and nozzle. Anti spatter sprays or wax dips are helpful, when used regularly. Hope this helps.
Hi guys you are doing well, the only thing that i would as the welding goes is go down to the next size of wire as it does not take the same heat to weld and you will get a better weld as well as looks. .023 =.6mm used in the panel beaters trade.
Gotta admit. I was skeptical in the beginning ,but yall have built a serious toy. My favorite build yet. But i still have big wood for the mower with the drag Motor👍👏
Have you thought of Raptor lining a cart? They have 15 stock colors or you can have a paint shop tint it whatever color you like. It provides a durable finish that's even Ike proof.
you can buy the drive wheel for your welder as a spare part, make sure you get the matching one for the size and type of wire you use... eg gas/gasless.
1980's Group B rally car MOMO or Sparco wheels in white powder coat...... Or make your own more break-proof steel rally wheels, by powder coating a salvaged set of stock steel car wheels..... 😎
I want to see you guys install that there 990 in the cross cart.Youll have no problem running big wheels which will give even more ground clearance, more speed, massive catwalks, and epic airtime that would turn any thrill seekers undergarments a dark shade of brown.Mini mayhem would be about who could build something faster.lol Never the less, you guys are doing well and i love the vids.
Shoulda rolled that rust sealer you wouldn’t have had to sand or scotch brite it to smooth it out , probly coulda sprayed it if you have a gravity gun . But I’m super excited this dude is sick
Make the top rollcage bar above the driver on the driver side (for a normal US car) and bend it into a curve so the driver has more room to get in. It should still protect fine and be pretty much just as strong... but way easier to fit in. If you want it more cemetrical do it from both side so the top is shaped kind of like an hourglass.
Nice cart, be sure to use rubber gloves with por 15, I used on frame of my car, good luck getting paint off your skin, really tuff stuff, just a tip for you.
Krylon rusty metal primer works just as good IMO and it comes in a spray can. It's a lot smoother than POR15. Also Eastwood makes some rust encapsulators
I would love you guys to get a old 80s Honda Odyssey fl350 I have one it’s a lot of fun and is pretty fast you could even swap a snowmobile engine in it and make it crazy
For a really nice rattle can paint job, you should warm the paint can in hot water. Get some snap on pistol grips, for the cans, and you will be surprised at the amount of paint you will save.
Isaac you should have dropped those side rails. Then you could get in and out easier. Being trapped in a cart is not good. Especially if it on fire or upside down in water. Couple episodes ago your were in a creek. It does happen.
A little more than I guessed Didn't factor in all the stuff from go power sports. Still though guys excellent job Would like to see it against the Ducarti that would be a great video. Hope you guys stay dry from all the rain that might be coming your way with the Hurricanes coming up. Stay Safe and Keep it real guys. Faithful Subscriber forever From Southeast Missouri. CAR'S AND CAMERA'S ROCK THE HOUSE!!!!!
You guys should do like the smallest v8 engine you can find and put in on a go cart. With Supercharger. 😂 it would probably be really hard. But u guys can build about anything. And you have the Miata rear and front end already.
It cost us more than we all thought, but still not bad! Especially considering what it would cost to purchase something equivalent.
GOOD JOB GUYS :V :D
Something equivalent is about $6500 and up.
Yes a new vid 🔥🔥
Great job guys! What about the labor? I'm assuming 3 guys, 50$ an hour, 40 hours? 3x50x40 = 6000$
Can you give the complete list somewhere?

Wait a sec, did he say run out of gas? Flux core maybe could be understood, but solid core? Wow
That's not to bad for something so fun, keep it up guys it'll be fine!

The white looks soooooo goood, I cant wait for the body panels
Love the paint scheme. You guys rock
Thanks
Thanks!!
I POR15ed a VW chassis, put second coat on thick. It flowed together pretty good. And humidity is very important.
John you need a wire wheel that fits in a drill buddy. It’ll take that rust off way easier
I was confused for a second and then I remembered that the guy that does this channel was named as John to.
Try steel wool
Angle grinder wire wheel is where its at
Finally you guys listened and painted one of your projects!!! Cheers to another successful project.
Ah, the camera guy finally has a name... "Kelby".
Johnny Bravo I was almost convinced the camera was just floating around 👻
What up kelby!!
I’ve been watching the rail build and it’s awesome to see how much you guys have learned. The video production and build quality.
Love all the vids y’all are making! But I’m wondering if you’ll bring back the yerf dogs

Wes Hamstra like a spray can? I haven’t heard of it?
@@colez4651 I painted a small utility trailer with it. works great and is pretty durable.
Cole Makes Stuff yep. Comes in aerosol cans or in paint cans. Its really durable stuff
Wes Hamstra I’ll have to check it out
That's much heavier than paint

If you have a Napa near you look in Zero Rust, it works like Por15 with out the texture if you want a smooth finish.
Dang i see this thing painted on instagram all the time its nice to see it being done in a video
I like to use white or black appliance apoxy paint great shine and rock hard finish
That's the best stuff! It says not to use it for exterior finishes but I haven't had a problem with it.
I use it on car wheels and a lot more never chipped faded or lost its high shine
No disassemble number 5 is alive

You guys have really stepped up the production values!!!
you can thin paint to make it more workable and appear smoother...use water for latex and thinner for oil and that will help it to lay flat

You guys are workin your tails off on that thing! Must be so much fun! Can’t wait to see it with larger tires!
You guys should try and get Grindhard Plumbing Co to come along to Busco Beach with Senderella and the Barbie Mustang!
Its going to look so good when it's done
POR15 works great sprayed on with Cheap spray gun.
Im digging the trance music in this episode!
My experience using Por 15 , use in well ventilated area
You guys should add some metal mesh on the air ducts to the radiator to help prevent rocks and such hitting the engine/radiator
I love the music, it's so chill

hey John when you get the new tires for the cross Cart put those tires on the ducarti
Yeah I agree just for curiousness wonder what's the weight
This kart is cool. Where would you get the plans to build something like this? Great video, keep the content coming!
Padding under seat, maybe some sheet foam (aluminum backed) from Home Depot. Easy cut to fit 4’x8’ sheets 1” thick. Just a suggestion.
This channel has more rain than any other
Nice cart, be sure to use rubber gloves with por 15, I used on frame of my car, good luck getting paint off your skin, really tuff stuff, just a tip for you.
you should get a small stick welder. They aren't too hard to use and they don't really get mechanical failures.
It already looks awesome! Great job y'all.
Wow John u timed your voice volume perfect with ike's weld
you need to add any grinding wheels wire and gas for the welder small stuff like that also nuts bolts washer screws

You guys should try out Diablo stones for that angle grinder. Best stone IMO
Does the 3,910.00 include primer, and paint? Oh and cost of welding wire?
I still say you should have put Miata rims on it
We still can
